Its peaceful and relaxing in the community over here. The apartments are nice in mostly every case. Theres a dog park and a nice pool. they have cleaned it a lot more frequently. The trash is one down side sometimes that thing over flows and smells horrible. But its usually cleaned up within the week.
Ashley Gates is a charming and secluded community close to Mobile Bay in the heart of downtown Daphne. Everything you need is nearby from Target, churches, parks to local restaurants and shoppes. The pet friendly property is aesthetic and the units are spacious with a variety of floorplans to choose from.
The office staff is very kind! Whenever I need any maintenance done, they come in a timely manner and are very polite.
Great price and location. Maintenance is quick to fix any issues and the staff are a pleasure to work with. The two bedroom apartment s are really spacious and has a homey feel to it. A really good value, other apartments in this price range were no where near as spacious. Id recommend this apartment to anyone.
I have lived here for about 2 years now and all I have to say is that it’s just what I needed. The office staff are always happy to answer any questions I have and to help with anything I need. And the maintenance team is always sweet! It’s so close to school and work for me so that’s always a plus. Also, the inside of the actual apartments is quiet nice and up to date. Love it here :)
We have really enjoyed living at Ashley Gates. The staff has always been friendly to us and immediately attentive to any requests we may had. I like their preventive maintenance. They are always on top of filter changes, bug control, and landscape detail. The buildings are all freshly painted with a new color and we have a new roof. Our apartment was upgraded before we moved in; it was like moving into a new home.I love the extra events they have, especially the Movie Under the Stars! Every time we have visitors from out of town, they marvel at how beautiful the property is ... and everyone LOVES the pool! So resort-looking.
Ive lived here for 7+ years now, when I lived downstairs I never had a problem with German cockroaches. But when I moved upstairs and in the same building Im wondering if I should start charging them rent? The bug guy came and sprayed a few days ago and Im still walking in and killing 3 or 4 a day/night. They need to tent the whole complex and get rid of these unwanted house guest! Im probably not going to renew my lease.
Office staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We moved here from another state, so we moved to these apartments sight unseen. The office staff helped us get the apartment we wanted/needed.Any issues that we have had are taken care of quickly and efficiently by the maintenance staff. Our air conditioning unit failed and the maintenance staff went over and above to get it fixed quickly.Nice pool, and I use the exercise room. Love the view from our balcony! Its a nice place to live.
We have been living here a month. So far it has been great. When moving in we had some small maintenance problems. After I filled out a ticket on the app, maintenance came a took care of them. Love how you can do everything on a app. We feel like we have a place to call home! Office and maintenance personal have been nothing but nice and helpful.
Everyone in the office has been super nice. Whenever I needed maintenance, they were swift and efficient. Also, I love this location having easy access to a traffic light to get on the main highway.
Moving my fiancé out and very happy I am. The living space is ok, kinda old appliances and A/C unit and had normal maintenance issues but were repair promptly. The grounds is really the issue. Place smells bad, trees are being trimmed into bushes, sprinkler heads gushing water everywhere. Isn’t much grass even to water just weeds wasting money and improperly trimmed trees. Most of all the trees in front have fallen during the stay because they were noticeably diseased for a long time and they wait for them to fall before they cut them. I find this a huge hazard where kids are gonna be walking and cars driving. Either remove the problem so you don’t have to maintenance it maintenance properly.
I see a lot of a.c. complaints one stating thier is a crink in the line set causing thier compressor to work harder no good people lol a lineset crink does not do that thats just ur low on Freon the reason the power bill is to high is your leaving lights on or tvs or electronics and u are leaving ur water heater on
I have lived here for almost a year and just resigned for a second year. Ashley Gates is a beautiful property with a very friendly staff. Mandy and Rachel are always welcoming and ready to help with any needs you may have.
So far, so good. my boyfriend and I moved in about a month ago. The ladies up front worked with us to expedite our move in. Fairly priced with a gorgeous facility. I love it.
Ive been living here for 8 + years. For the most part it has been a good experience. The office staff have always been kind and responsive to me, and I know theyll be sad to see a resident go who always pays rent on time and never causes any trouble. However, the latest attempt to raise my rent more than $30 a month has pushed me to finally buy a house and stop giving this place my money. You just cant keep raising the rent every year without performing any improvements. The units are in desperate need of an upgrade - appliances and cabinets are from late 80s/early 90s and are showing it. The front gate of Ashley Gates has worked for about 2 weeks the entire time Ive lived here, so its not really a gated complex. The grounds are always nice and I will most miss the awesome maintenance crew. I would like to highly suggest to management that they assign a parking spot to each unit. There is no reason that a resident should have to fight with visitors and units with multiple vehicles in order to park in front of their building. For those shopping for an apartment, you should give the place a look, if only because the age of the complex usually make their rates the most reasonable of the area. If you can afford anything, Id urge you to look for something more up-to-date.
Do not recommend living here. Have had several complaints against upstairs neighbors and a meeting with the apartment manager. Nothing was resolved. Almost everything was not working when we first moved in- had to put in several repair requests within the first month. If you can live anywhere else do it- this apartment is not worth it
This place is ridiculous! Yes, there is a community laundry room, but I have been here 18 months, and NEVER has all washers and dryers been in working condition. For the last 6 months, there has only been one, yes ONE dryer that has been operational. Also, the pools are NEVER clean. Especially the child’s pool. It is ALWAYS full of leaves and debris! Stepping into it feels like a sand pit! Also, the landscaping is terrible. I would never recommend this place. The management are snobby and rude, and act like they are oblivious to much needed repairs.
I thought this place would be nice but I was wrong. I hate being lied too and multiple people in the office lied to me. They overcharge for everything and the apartment is definitely not worth what they charge;especially with all the new apartments being built. People need to be aware what theyre getting into if they decide to live here..I wish someone had told me.
I seriously love it here. The grounds are well kept, buildings are well taken care of, any service requests happen quickly. The staff is so kind. The entire apartment layout is great and spacious. The biggest selling point besides the price is location. I walk my baby around every day and this complex is connected to sidewalks and beautiful places to walk. Youre right in Old Towne Daphne with the shops and park, but not too close to the bay for hurricane season. Youre close to shopping and the highway for getting to work, but it doesnt feel busy. Truly this place is a steal and we feel so blessed that we found it.
I have had nothing but a great experience while living here for the past 2 years. (I lived in on the 3rd floor in a 1 bedroom) The staff is friendly and courteous, any maintenance issues were addressed in a timely manner, it is quiet, I have never had any problems with bugs, and the apartment was clean when I initially moved in. Thank you Ashley Gates staff!
My wife and I have lived here a little over three years, its been great. I think it could be kept up a little better, but other than that its been a good home to us. The only thing that could really make it better is if we had new pool chairs. Theyre old, falling apart, and sad to look at. Fix that and were golden!
We have enjoyed our time at Ashley Gates. The community is wonderful. The office staff and the maintenance guys are wonderful, prompt, and always want to ensure you are happy with your home. The only complaint is that the gate has only worked a few months out of the year weve been here. Weve seen them take pains to fix it, but apparently it hasnt been cooperating. Overall, Ashley gates is a safe, clean, and beautiful place to live.
Fast, easy, right price range, my lease lady was thorough, i love my place!
These are very nice apartments, especially for the price. All of the appliances work well and are up to date, the maintenance team has always been quick to solve any problems Ive had, and the staff in the office are very friendly and helpful.
I have lived here for 5 years and love this place. The staff is great. Would highly recommend!
When I moved out, I turned in one key to my apartment and my mother who lives 5 hours away had the other. The office manager told me to just turn in the one I had and not to worry about the other. Two years later when trying to move out of my apartment in Mobile into a new one, the new apartment complex said I owe a $45 charge to Ashley Gates and it is on my credit. I always pay my bills and have almost an 800 credit score, this upset me. I called the office at Ashley Gates and told them my story....the office manager hung up on me.I went and paid them, but made sure that their lack of follow through and customer service would be shared. Lesson is, always get something in writing, especially from THIS establishment.
Been living here with my roommate for over a year. The only thing I like about this place is its quiet, and its close to stores and restaurants. Cons about this place is it has electricity issues. Our air conditioner has been acting up for months, and nothing is done. Our bill is almost $400 which is absolutely ridiculous. Im not the only person this is happening to. What about the dog park? it looks like its been done since Summer and its not opened. Would be nice to play with my toddler without stepping in crap. I used to like this place but now everything is getting out of control and I cant stand it anymore.
***The good reviews posted, from what I have been told from former Employees, were either solicited OR written by Ashley Gates Staff MembersI heard rumors about the atrocious management before moving in but they seemed nice at first. Maintenance was nice, make sure you read your lease and submit a 60 day written notice before moving out or they will stick it to you and make it as difficult as possible for you. Went in to ask for my account information once and not only did they make up excuses to not give it to me, they actually tried to give me another tenants so it would make me think that my account was delinquent... Worst part is that when I submitted a survey on their website,it did not post..They do not post the bad ones, which is probably why they havent had a new one go up in almost 4 years. The apt I am in has had bad water pressure, leaky everything and you can hear the neighbors every move.. Laundry room is 50% out of order and the weight room is a joke as well as the pool which was not even usable until mid July... Also, the street is full of pot holes and the dumpster ALWAYS STINKS SO BAD... Best part about living there is that I am moving
I have lived here a year now and I have signed another lease enjoy living at Ashley gates apartments. I have recommended this place to my friends to come and live
Lovely atmosphere, great office staff. I have lived here for 5 years and they have always been very responsive to my needs even for major sudden maintenance issues. A+
Weve had major electrical issues, major issues with the ac that has put us without ac on a number of occasions theres a crimp in the line that causes the ac compressor to overwork and burn out and runs our power bill between 300 to close to 500 a month weve reported the issues numerous times and no fixes. The apartment has been losing power in the living room and one of the bedrooms like no power at all Im assuming that its a wiring issue or a bad breaker its been reported but management hasnt done anything about it. Management is very poor, there was old nasty carpet in the unit with stains in it from what looked like a animal pissed on it, we got scabies when we first moved in had to go to the doctor to clerk it up. Management seems more worried about a crappy dog park that alot of tenants dont want. And buying new custom door mats for each unit when the old ones suffice. They are really focused on making a gate work that could be a major hazard and street blocker for the street.
Poorly lit parking lots creates dangerous situations. Pot holes galore. Outside of apartment buildings need to be cleaned. Corridors need to be power washed and the leaves and grounds are poorly maintained. Over priced...... these buildings are something you would expect on a college campus.
By far the worst apartment complex I have ever lived at. Clearly from these reviews I am not the only one who feels this way. The office staff is absolutely clueless. Pay a little more and live in a better place.
Where do I begin. First and foremost the office staff right on up to the manager are rude, as if its almost a bother to help you and answer questions. No friendly AT ALL. The gate they have does not work, never has in the almost 2 years Ive lived there and they car cleaning station they list on their “list of amenities” website, does not work either, well unless you want to count the handy dandy water hose they have to wash with. However, If you want to vacuum, your best bet is the Chevron up the road. The rent steadily went up as I stayed which eventually forced me out since I can go right up the road pay less AND get the above mentioned amenities that actually do work. Oh did I mention, they also lost a package of mine? Yea that one too. Of which they offered no concern or priority of.If I had to mention one thing I would give Ashley Gates are the grounds. Theyve hired a pretty competent landscaping company, other than that, poor management and poor staffing choices.
Apartment was alright appliances was low quality laundry room was sometimes trashed tried to hit my family with 1700 dollar cleaning bill like 7 months after we left which we disputed even though we hired a cleaning company when we left should have listened to all the other complaints on here
WORST APARTMENTS EVER. STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Dumpster area is a NASTY place. Complete eyesore. Gated community yet the gate doesnt work and they dont bother to get it fixed. Anyone can come in and go as they please due to the gates never being closed. The staff is rude and nosey with hundreds of unnecessary inspections. Chimney inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, pest control. Constantly you will have people coming into your apartment. The leasing office is a joke with rude staff members who act like its a bother to help you. Rent goes up A TON every year. This place is a joke. DONT. LIVE. HERE. THE WALLPAPER in the bathroom is DISGUSTING and dingy looking and the carpets have STAINS from when we moved in. This place is a dump. Disgusting.
If I could give this place a negative 5 stars I would. I seriously regret bringing my family, especially my newborn into these apartments. Since I have been here, which has only been about 3 months... I have had lizards, spiders, beetles, what appears to be little caterpillar bugs AND roaches. An apartment that was literally perfect in size and in a great location ruined because of bugs and bugs we can’t get rid of for whatever reason. I have had to have 4 service request back to back in regards to spraying this apartment and on top of that we’re getting bit every night, waking up to bites on our bodies. The only thing good out of all of this is knowing how most of the bugs got in.... My daughter and I were sitting on the couch and a lizard came in through a hole that is located at the bottom of the sliding door. Imagine sitting here being a new mom, with a newborn having to run because I’m honestly not a bug person and I am ESPECIALLY not a lizard person. I was terrified and once I’m terrified then so is my child. I was done then, but I thought let me just relax and have someone come fix the issue. I put a request in and one of the maintenance guys fixed the front door but not the sliding door, I guess to seal the door from bugs coming in from the front door. I was told that they would need something extra like tools or a screen door for the 1/2 inch hole from the sliding door. So my fiancé and I patched the hole with tape and a T-shirt until the hole could be fixed. Almost a week later I had to call and make another request because a spider the size of a cherry came in and I was infuriated at this point. I normally would put my daughter on the floor with her play mat to be able to get stuff done but I’m scared and terrified that something will crawl on her. Once someone came to fix the sliding door (which had been done with some type of glue or something to just seal the hole), my fiancé asked why wasn’t all of this fixed when the front door was being done? Or why wasn’t this fixed before we moved into this place. The maintenance guy told us that he was pretty much head of the whole maintenance crew (like we cared) and that our issue wasn’t as urgent as a person with a leaking roof or water damage... blah blah blah. This is when I’m just like get me and my family out of here. WHYYYY are we spending money here to not only get bit and see bugs not just here and there but all throughout the day, to be told this really isn’t that urgent compared to other issues going on in this apartment complex? If I am calling my fiancé everyday while he’s at work letting him know I found a bug on my daughters blanket, a flying roach on her car seat, a lizard and spider in the living room. THAT IS URGENT. I even made my fiancé buy home defense in the middle of the night because I’m thinking it would help on top of pest control spraying. NOPE. I keep this apartment very clean, vacuum everyday, I don’t even leave a dish in the sink because I’m terrified of anything getting in here that doesn’t belong. This has been an absolutely headache for me, I have bites all over my body and after all 4 of the service request on top of the 5th one I put in for Wednesday I AM DONE. Even after them patching up that hole with whatever it was that took all of 5 seconds to do (“since this isn’t an urgent issue”). We’re supposed to be enjoying this time with having a new baby but I hate that I made the decision to live here. At this point, I would recommend if you’re apartment hunting maybe looking elsewhere. This is definitely not worth it!!!!
My leasing lady is great and cant wait to start being here this weekend
Ok when we moved in I noticed two rooms(master included) had ceiling fans with NO LIGHT KITS. They were old and outdated. I put up more expensive fans myself just to have light. Also there was a big silverfish problem in my apartment. Those things were everywhere! Also right outside the living room window there was a huge hole where squirrels and who knows what else were entering the attic. The bathroom design was very poor as well. The counters in the bathrooms go over the toilet which gives hardly any access to the lid of the toilet. So I guess if the toilet has a problem just tear up the whole countertop just to service it? Crazy!
Useless office staff. Sent a message to everyone saying your not allowed to have Grills on the property anymore, informed if you did not remove it they would renew your lease. Never willing to help anyone. I am trying to find their main office number. If anyone knows of it please let me know.
Remember... people will always write about the bad and happy residents usually dont say anything.
They are to expensive for what you get and they dont take care of nothing around the complex
Ashley Gates was the very first carpet we cleaned almost 9 years ago when Floor Medic started in Alabama. The staff has always been a pleasure to deal with.
Its ok
Not that shabby....
