My daughter had a try out there. The coach said the tryout would last an hour. After 10 minutes into the tryout she said she had seen all she needed to see and suggested my daughter go back 2 levels! The Level she was suggesting was a level my daughter Had mastered and had qualified for the highest level of a state competition. The only thing she actually witnessed was my daughter do was low bar. She seemed super annoyed with my daughter from the very beginning. My daughter is eight years old and was extremely nervous to be trying out at a new gym with someone she has never met. You cannot tell me that in 10 minutes you can evaluate someone when you have not seen them do any of their skills! Not professional at all!!!
My daughter has never participated in extracurricular athletics. Growing up, my parents never got me into anything of the sort either, so I have absolutely no experience in any of this. I simply have no idea where to start, how to navigate the process, etc.Taking the plunge, I registered online and finished the process on the phone. I was told prorated amount due was $60 for the remaining June classes, which was due before our first class.I paid online. I checked in with the front desk, they verified our payment, and directed us to the waiting room. Very dark, but maybe that’s by design? Every few minutes a class was called into the gym, but I couldnt see who was speaking or hear who was being called. I wasn’t even sure what to listen for. Around the class starting time, still unable to clearly hear the announcements, I asked the girl at the door and she said my daughters coach (mind you, all I know is his name) would call us back shortly. A few minutes later, I was pretty sure her class was being called, and we got up quickly and walked to the door but couldnt see where any of the girls had gone as they blended in to the gym full of kids. We didnt know what her coach looked like so that didnt help. We made eye contact with a man who introduced himself as Charlie, was super friendly, and he took my daughter over to her class. I was directed to another dark room upstairs to watch. From there, I saw my daughter below. She was to herself and in the middle of a bunch of girls being dismissed. She looked confused, as was I. There was a coach and small group of girls nearby that I assumed she was supposed to be with, but for some reason she was 15-20 feet from them. A few minutes later, I watched as that coach and class walked across to the other end of the gym and I thought Im pretty sure shes supposed to be with them... But what do I know? I couldnt do much from my location. Then, the dismissed girls had cleared out. The coach was gone. The class was gone. She was sitting alone, stranded, crying, and confused. Someone finally came to her and walked her towards the waiting room so I shuffled back down and met her there. We were advised to let her watch instead, but the last thing she wanted to do is watch at that point. So we left. All it would have taken was a structured orientation, an introduction by the coach so my daughter knew who to turn to, or a what to expect from literally ANYONE. I tried making it clear to every person I came into contact with that we were new, lost, etc. While everyone was nice, the place as a whole is only structured for experienced families. I still cant wrap my head around why her coach would leave a NEW student on the other end of the gym. Shes a child, had no clue what she was doing, and was relying on guidance from the adults in the room. But instead of guidance, she was left behind.I decided we wouldnt be returning due to the lack of organization and direction. I called and spoke with Natalie and explained that we left after 10 minutes of the first class, wouldn’t be returning, and reasonably asked for a refund. Before and after speaking to the office manager, she told me repeatedly Yeah, we dont do refunds. Sorry for whatever happened.”. I was not asked for details about my experience, nor offered to speak with management of any kind. It was like speaking to a brick wall, honestly.Side note: I learned after paying for the month that usually, the first class is free as a trial, and Natalie didnt offer me any explanation as to why I was told to pay for the month before having attended a trial class. Again, it was just sorry, yeah we dont do refunds so...Its not even about the money, its the principle. If a new student AND parent leaves your establishment in tears, what does that say about your onboarding process? That were just not cut out for it? We werent even given a fair chance to become adjusted. So, if youre a parent like me, who knows nobody, has no experience in extracurriculars, and needs reasonable guidance, this place isnt for you.
I like all that my daughter has learned and perfected, having always wanting to do gymnastics. I am just really disappointed that for the price and expense the kids should do more than compete against each other. They never participate in outside competitions. I thought I was paying for my child to possibly one day Compete in the Olympics. They learn basic gymnastics and its costly so are the kids actually getting what we pay for???? Im not sure. Nice place and nice people. Just thought it would be more regarding training and teaching the kids.
Charlie was amazing!! Stepped in to help out our team during a competition when we are from another Gym. Super professional and can tell truly cares about the sport and ALL Gymnasts success. He definitely went above and beyond and is extremely appreciated.
Always the best coaches and owner. Highly recommend
High energy for work out. Professional trainer and nice work out
My daughter absolutely loves it. The teachers are great!
I’ve been here all my life and honestly never loved anywhere more it feels like home and all the coaches are there for the gymnast, cheerleaders, and tumblers it truly is amazing
Paulding Gymnastics is an amazing gymnastics program in Dallas, GA. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. Charlie J. (great employer, industry leader and reliable consultant). This program truly puts the athletes and the community ahead of the business. Everything about them is for the benefit of the children being safe and having a blast while learning. I love to drop in for their toddler open gym times. My three year old has a blast on the obstacle courses, jumping on the trampoline, racing friends across the beam and of course, flipping. This is absolutely ideal for play-dates and getting energy out.
My name is melody Adcock and those gymnastics teachers put all of their work into this to make it to were we now gymnastics but not only that also tumbling. So if I were you i would sign up for either tumbling or gymnastics and work your best. Thank you for my time now and please push the thumbs up bottom by
So far we are extremely happy here. Coming from another local (large) center, the transition has been seemless. My daughter continues to love the sport and enjoys working with coach Justin and coach Katherine. Shes improving her skills while having fun!
After two years here I cant say a bad thing about this facility. Clean, friendly and the teachers are really patient with the younger kids. My 6 year old LOVES Paulding gymnastics and so do I!
My girls are enjoying this school this summer. I have 3 and theyre all taking gymnastics there. Rachel is awesome to walk you through the registration process.
Paulding Gymnastics is amazing! We love the staff! Not only do they teach gymnastics but they have also taught my daughter confidence, self-esteem and dedication!
We love Paulding Gymnastics! My daughter has been going there for the last 6 years, and I went there in my college years. Ive known the owner for over 20 years and wouldnt even consider taking her elsewhere. This is, by far, the cleanest gym Ive ever seen. Every time Im there someone is cleaning something. Additionally, they teach them so much more than just gymnastics skills. They realize the impact they have on these childrens lives and they put very careful thought and consideration into each and every lesson. Im 100% convinced there is no better gymnastics facility out there.
Love love love Paulding Gymnastics!!!!You couldnt ask for better coachs they are amazing with the kids. My daughter Lacey is on the Broz team and Loves it. Paulding is her home away from home.
My daughter started at paulding gymnastics about 12 years ago. Since then she cheered for legacy which is part of paulding gymnastics. Charlie, the owner, and Bill helped her so much. They not only taught her how to cheer, they taught her how to believe in herself. She is now captain of the East Paulding varsity cheer team. Thanks Charlie and Bill for helping my daughter. We will be forever grateful.
The best program that I have seen. My girls having been going since October this year and they really enjoy it.
I took my daughter here to try out. They said the trial period is one week after one day they called and said she isn’t welcome back. I think for a child coming from a different gym they have to get use to a new environment. I think that was very unprofessional of them. I hope they never do another child like this again.
Not enrolled here but my daughter had a great time at parents night out!
Love the atmosphere tailored to small children and their needs.
My little girl has the best time ever there!
Update: My daughter has been going for years now. She loves it here! It’s certainly more organized than Douglasville gymnastics. So glad we made the switch!!!!! Here they do pickups so that it doesn’t cause an over abundance of people in the facility at once. I can comfortably watch my daughter practice. The coaches and staff are really friendly.... I really like it... Charlie the owner is fantastic!! He is sooo friendly. Coach Bill is my daughters cheer coach and he is the best!Everyone is so pleasant. I drive from douglasville, but it’s worth it. Douglasville gymnastics was a headache. So many people you can’t walk around without bumping into someone. Paulding is so much better.
Took my 4 year old after paying thinking how nice everyone seemed, turns out its terrible. Not what I was expecting, not what I would have paid for. They push anyone under 5 up stairs in a small room and make parents sit beside each other in what essentially feels like an attic with no AC to watch the class through small windows. If that wasnt enough to upset me, the older teacher kept grabbing my child by the upper arm repeatedly and yanking her back into line. My daughter wasnt Miss behaving either, she would finish her set and just stand there waiting for instructions when the teacher would just grab and yank on her. Most horrible place ever!! When the class finishes, Ill never be back.
Love this place, my daughter had been going for 6 months now and she is very happy.
Best just they make you work hard and practice is never easy here but its definitely eorth it
My daughter is working on her tuck for Hillgrove cheerleading. She loves the gym because the instructors really focus on the tumbling during the hour she is there.
