Good Service. Met with two managers on a new membership and they were great. Facility is clean and welcoming. Great place to get your sweat on.
Amazing place to workout. Family atmosphere. Dedicated instructors. Excellent facility. Awesome staff. Past 4 years Northwest YMCA changed my life. I started living my life with happiness. Improved my health a lot. Thanks to staff and all my friends in Northwest YMCA.
I love the variety of classes, which encourages me to try new activities outside my comfort zone, keeping me literally and figuratively on my toes! I appreciate the generally high quality of the instructors, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The machines in the main gym, and the stretching room are kept in good order, clean and welcoming.
The facilities are very good and best of all there is a wide variety of fun activities for both me and my 10 year old to do so we both get exercise we want to do at the same time. So much better than my having to sit around in a hallway or parking lot while she does her activities and then searching for time I can leave her long enough to squeeze in exercise for myself.
The Northwest YMCA (Cupertino) is a great place to go not only for working out, they have many programs for the whole family. Their swimming instructors make the kids feel confident in the water, encouraging them to learn and busting their self-esteem. They also have other programs like kids in motion, dodgeball and parents night out that allows the parent to work out or have some free time while the kids are having fun in a safe environment.
High quality, diverse group classes. Group trainers are enthusiastic. It’s clean & well kept. Great staff.
I joined the Northwest Y immediately after my retirement from a 40hr+ work week 4 years ago. It was a great way to ease into the transition from a demanding routine of work into a more relaxed routine of retirement. I could create workouts and activites at my own pace. The staff and members are so very friendly and all are eager to be part of your assist you with any of your needs.
A great gym where the staff is amicable, and you get to know them like family and friends - something you dont get in a bigger gym. They have several classes from Yoga to bootcamp, and my favorite is the spinning in early days and later evenings. Another favorite thing for me is the swimming pool since it is always clean and not crazy busy. Lastly, part of your money is to subsidize a childs daycare and a summer camp, so they dont stay at home alone.
Warm pool water. Clean locker rooms. Plenty of equipment and variety of classes (for a 58-yr old female).
Janelle is very personable and knowledgeable in the Wellness Center. Cheryl has made our experience with Kids Club so enjoyable and my son looks forward to going! This is my favorite Y location.
The staff at Northwest YMCA are extremely friendly. Their equipment also help me to get my strength back. Id highly recommend it.
Staff is warm and helpful. My kids (6 & 8) love basketball and swimming classes.
The best place to go for exercise. Staff is great and clean good facilities. Group classes are always available and I have never struggled to get into any of the classes. Swimming classes for kids are great.
This is a wonderful YMCA. The exercise classes are taught by very qualified personnel, the front staff are incredibly friendly, and there is a great variety of classes to take.In addition, there is a great sense of community spirit and giving back.Overall, a great place for families and friends!
I enjoy the friendly environment and generally good open hours. I also see the staff cleaning the machines regularly so they gym area with machines stays pretty clean.
Great staff, people and community. Feel like family there.
This YMCA has an elaborate facility but you know what, staff here are unapproachable. Not sure if it is a training issue, or just a management style (a i-dont-care-attitude, where they feel that they dont care if few leave in an already over-populated facility), but all staffs are extremely cold, not approachable, and carry a stone face attitude. I have recently moved from this facility to another facility of YMCA few weeks back and I can say the difference. I also had an opportunity to have meetings with the director/associate director (and the stand in associate director) of this facility on an incident which was related to me and my son (who is a special need child and is in autism spectrum) and overall I did realize that this facility needs a lot lot more training, staff need to be a lot more compassionate and understanding and most important bit more grounded. Overall I will not recommend this place although, I find no issues on the facility itself.
The staff are friendly. Great varieties of programs and activities. I love the exercise machines.
A membership was started in my name and card NOT by me and they cant do anything to help me figure out who. They wont give me a refund and give the excuse, Well someone had time to fill out the forms online and submit payment, even if it wasnt me. Ive been kept on hold for over 30 minutes multiple times, the staff were unhelpful each time in trying to figure out how this happened and said that I must have been the one to sign up.
-inclusive - I noticed the impressive diversity of YMCA members, including people of all ages, nationalities etc-big choice of sport activities, adapted to people of various level of fitness-long opening hours-good equipment at the fitness center-staff is very nice and friendly :)
I love this gym, it is always squeaky clean and the employees are kind and helpful. Its usually not super crowded. Take advantage of the free coffee (its good!!)
They have great kids programs and their staff is engaging and fun. My kids love this Y when we get the chance to go.
I love the YMCA - the group exercise classes, like Power Yoga, Core & More, BodyPump, are really good. All the staff is not very knowledgeable, but the good ones make up for them! There are a number of classes for facility members, and some of the instructors are really good. So find the classes and instructors that work for you and go for those - its worth the membership fee........
I had a great experience at the Northwest YMCA as I was traveling on a medium term work project (3 months) to California. The branch welcomed me as one of their own, and I found the amenities here to be surprisingly exceptional.Although the wellness center is a smaller space, it is very well curated, even featuring olympic weightlifting platforms, a wealth of foam rollers, and resistance bands. This is in addition to what you would expect out of a gym (highly available cardio equipment, basic free weights). If you like to lift weights, you will be satisfied with this location!
Love BodyPump and Cx classes. The instructors are high energy and the people are friendly. Ive been attending classes for several years and I still find them worthwhile and challenging.
I used to go to this Y (Nortwest YMCA) and really enjoyed my experience. After a couple of years, I didn’t go and utilize the membership as much as I should. I let my membership lapse...until this year. I re-joined because I was in an accident and gained some weight. I am glad I did. I didn’t think my experience could be any better than it was. And...it has been. I love this Y. If you’re looking for a family environment and offers free classes...this is the one.
Cycling class, kids club, kids zumba, jumpin gymboree, etc...all the classes are fun and good workout classesMainly I like the free family events organized monthly :)
It is a really convenient place! You can exercise, then go cool down for a swim. Great Place
Convenient location. Nice staff.
Great staff. Extensive programs.
Great and very good price for swimming with family
Ive been a member here for years and I love my local YMCA. Its one of the busiest and most often used facility of the Santa Clara YMCAs. The staff is always trying to improve. The facility is clean. The variety of group exercise activities is very wide. The available cardio and strength training equipment is up to date and well maintained. The child care available is wonderful. The indoor pool has many scheduled activities with a water slide and mushroom that is fun for the family. I hope to see you there!
This facility is very special. First impressions was that it is very community oriented and quite diverse. The classes are free (except for swimming lessons and karate classes for obvious reasons) and the equipment is well maintained. I enjoy interacting with the staff as they are friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend that anyone considering a commitment of membership, take the time to try it at no cost for a week. You will not be disappointed. Give yourself a chance at good heath and to be a part of a genuine community. I highly recommend it.Update 4/20/2108The experience I’ve had at this Y is no where near what a couple of the recent reviews from Josh Cheng and Sayanatan Sen have posted. I go to this facility nearly every day. There is a good mixture of people...young and old, men and women, etc. I wonder what alterior motives the two of the recent posts have, but one mentions Karma. I too believe in karma and don’t believe either two of these people carry the spirit of kindness and openness to others. One can only read their posts to feel and anger and aggression they carry to begin with. I have met Rex and Raven. They are really good people. I have not seen anything resembling what the two posters describe. Sad to see people carry their anger and bitterness into a wonderful place like this Y. Just my take.
This place is definitely not for swimming, +everything. The worst YMCA Ive ever seen. Place only for children and seniors. People here are conservative and racist. I tried 3-days trial pass and ripped it off right after I came out from the pool. Swimming pool is only about 2~3ft deep. I almost hit my head on the ground.
Love this NW Y in Cupertino. It is far more than a gym to workout in; it is a great community in the heart of Cupertino. Thanks.
Pools, Showers, Gyms, classes, this place is everything...and the best part is that most of it is free!
Love this place my baby girl really enjoy the swimming pool
There’s always a different workout everyday so I won’t get bored or tired of coming in.
I would give you five stars if you add a class called yogA for osteoporosis Therapist Marie Jager she is terrific and if interviewed you would add a class that is most helpful to ppl..Also note she teaches at the north Y and has very full classes. Thank you for your attention. Sandy Damato Ps, she is not boring and is very knowledgable a great asset to our Y.
I exercise here almost daily. I love my YMCA.
Great classes such as Zumba and Piyo!
The vending machine is out of order for 2 months since I joined here. This locations management is incapable to fix it or careless with multiple complaints. When I talk to Amber at the front desk she just hung up on me.I spoke to Facility manager today, hopefully this problem can be fixed permanently soon.
Great swimming classes for kids.
Nice place, clean and everyone helpful
I left after 10 years of membership due to awful management. Read yelp reviews.
Exercise class and make me healthier
Love it
