Had my second less than mediocre experience here. Got a pedicure and the technician was nice but the pedicure itself was not enjoyable. The water was cold and the entire left side of my big toe was missed during the second coat. I didnt get a massage or lotion when the other people I was with did. When I paid, I tried to tell them I didnt get the full service but she insisted she gave me it (she didnt) and they still charged me full price. Gave me a student discount which was nice but I get that with a better experience elsewhere. Go to Corvallis Star, way better service for the price. Really bummed I had to spend money here and walk away unsatisfied, twice. Definitely not going back again now.

I love the precautions they take here asking to wear mask. And I love that there tubs they use what looks like a shower cap on a way bigger scale. They add a new one for very customer so you have a clean tub. Very clean place. And we all got a great pedicure.

My friend and I have been to modern nails before, and that time it went great. but this time it went horribly. We walked in and offered to come at a less busy time, but they insisted that my friend and I could get our nails done now. I show one of the workers the design that I wanted and she agreed that it would be cute and confirms that the design could be done. I then pick out the colors for my design and only halfway through my appointment while i am halfway through my acrylic fill, the person working on my nails says that the design that had been confirmed can no longer be done. So i had to rethink my entire nail design while i was already halfway through the process. Horrible service

Best nail experience ever. As a man, I have never felt embarrassed about coming here to have my hands and feet done. Highly recommend.

Went in for acrylics and asked for a certain shape and length, provides a picture and everything. Ended up leaving with tears and short, ugly, uneven, and crooked nails NOTHING AT ALL like what I wanted left with a different color and style that was just hideous. And I was charged $52 for nails that I absolutely hate and I look like I have dog claws on my fingers

It was very busy when we went in, definitely not a safe place if you’re worried about Covid. The tech who did my nails did not clean the tools in between using them on me and the person before me. She was on her cell phone part of the time, and the person doing my sister’s nails has his AirPods in taking to someone else as well. I picked out all of my colors with their swatches, and one of them was incorrect but they kept dipping with it anyway. There was no massage which I thought was odd, and a lot of gunk was left under my nails afterward. The only redeeming factor is that they have a student discount.

I have been here multiple times and always had a great experience and good quality job with basic manis but tonight I asked for just acrylic tips with a gel or shellac french over it - Ive had this done at one other place but it was an awful personal experience for a decent quality job - not worth it to me. The one thing I knew I didnt want was full acrylics - and since I treat myself maybe twice a year I was willing to be flexible since I dont know a whole lot about services offered. Not only did they put me in full acrylics, I am two hours out of my appointment and they are lifting off my natural nail. Every single one. I love this place, but every single one of my nails is getting pulled off its bed and they do not look nearly good enough to justify this level of pain.

This place is absolutely does the best nails I have ever had in my life. I mean Ive been only getting nails for 3 years every single month. I have gotten Nails all the way from the Oregon coast, to Albany and to Corvallis and Salem. But this location in Corvallis is absolutely experienced they have the knowledge and know how to make the best nails in the world. Absolutely stunning Beauty everytime I absolutely walk out the door going oh my goodness wow. I swear every time. I used to go to a place in Albany and they were pretty good but very expensive and I think their quality has quite a bit less critique to it. Modern Nails by far is one of the best nail shops I have ever gone to yet and as long as I live in Corvallis they have a permanent customer who will be there every month. I got acrylics and solar is here they are just absolutely amazing

Amazing job, fast and nicely done

First they grabbed the wrong color so they went and got the correct one but it still wasn’t right. She asked if I wanted another color so I picked out a different one but the color she grabbed was not the color I picked. Then she made me bleed very badly after accidentally cutting my finger and it wouldn’t stop bleeding. She kept putting the nail polish remover on it and it stung so bad. She wiped it multiple times but it was bleeding pretty bad. It still wouldn’t stop so she put something else on it that also stung really bad. Finally she just started painting even though it was still bleeding. The nails look okay but the color is wrong, and they’re not the best paint job. My friend also came and they messed hers up so bad the man went and got another person to do hers and they had to take hers completely off and redo them. They were gel nails so this took a long time as they had to soak the polish off and then start the whole process over again. Overall, I would not come back or recommend them. They’re nice but they didn’t do a good job unfortunately. It’s hard to find a good nail salon in this area but I would not return here.

Julie is my technician and I have been going to her regularly for years. She is wonderful! The salon is beautiful, very clean, and friendly.

I do not recommend this salon if you are squeamish about cuts. I just had a full gel set done and almost every nail has a cut and is painful. I havent had my nails done professionally in a decade and now I remember why. Ill be sticking to my 2 week at home press ons from now on. They look better and dont hurt! Not to mention my nails are very crooked and uneven and I left with glue all over my hands. I was a new customer, it seems like they would have at least tried. So much for treating myself. I regret tipping.Update: After 2 weeks, when I would normally go get a fill, 2 of my nails had popped off like cheap press ons. In fact, the press ons I use last longer. I paid 75 dollars including tip for this low quality painful nail job. They must be using the cheapest materials possible. I dont know how they get any repeat business. Letting my nails heal and returning to at home manicures. This experience turned me all the way off from the entire industry.

I usually really like them, but my mother in law bought me a gift certificate there and it expired it has a 6 month time to use. The guy would not take it. Its illegal in Oregon to not accept them.

Really great experience with them I work a lot with my hands and so I hope to get a job done that will last at least a week and a half to three weeks every time I come here they last way over that ! This is my go-to for a little pampering. I actually kind of hated getting my nails done before this (I felt like an inconvenience, I didnt know what to do, etc). The staff is so friendly, and regardless of the treatment purchased, youre treated like royalty. Highly recommend.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I can’t seem to let this go. I decided to give Modern Nails another chance after having a not so great nail experience a year ago. While getting a pedicure I remembered I had a $15 gift card left. The gift card was 5 days away from being a year old, but Oregon gift card are not supposed to expire. When I went up to pay I was told I could not use the gift card and they took it from me. I said it was against the law to have gift cards expire in Oregon. The owner said the gifts cards say good for 6 months. I’m not familiar enough with the law to know if that is legal. They made an extra $15 off my pedicure but lost my business as a customer. I will not be back and I will not recommend them.

I spent alot of money elsewhere and no other nail salon compares to this place. They take the time to make your nails perfect. They dont half a** just to rush you out. You can tell they genuinely care about the outcome of the nails and they actually listen to what you would like. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.

I think the inside is pretty nice. However they were very rude to my mom, and when doing my cuticles she was very rough and hurt my fingers a few times. Didn’t even get my cuticles well. I had gel polish done and that night one finger came off, then the next day one chipped. It should last at least 2-3 weeks. Looks good, but wasn’t put on well.

Best legs massage for a pedicure Ive ever had. Unfortunately you have to buy your nail kit ($5), it does not come included in the price for pedicure. Make sure to bring one with you so you dont have to pay again. Pedicure is $28 with student discount. Overall, I am very pleased.

We always enjoy the pedi. The massage can be rough depending on the person and communication is limited. Otherwise, we enjoy it.

Good service, depending on who you get! Sometimes the younger ones work too fast and are kinda rough, I usually get acrylic nails and I have had a few women who yank and tug my hands. Not very pleasant. But then Ive had women who work really well and even have a nice conversation with me.

Had a pedicure and shellac manicure for my first time the other day! Julie did my nails and they turned out awesome. She was super friendly and easy to talk to and made great recommendations. It was $60 total for both services together. I didnt catch the guys name who did my pedicure but he did an awesome job as well. Loved the hot stone leg/foot massage!

Julie is the best at acrylics! I told her I was a dishwasher at work and she did my nails so nice and tight! I’m going on week 4 with no breaks or chips! I’ll definitely be going back.

It was my first time there and they did an excellent job! Very professional and my nails looked amazing after! I asked for a manicure +full set of acrylics and the lady looked at my nails and mentioned that I dont need actually need a manicure and that my cuticles were great as is. I really appreciated that. They didnt just say okay for the extra money they actually were sincere with me as a customer. I highly recommend this place and will absolutely go back.

I was going to get my nails done today until the owner very rudely told me I couldnt park in the spot that is assigned for their business!!!!! You just lost a customer! Dont assume anything and dont be rude when you dont know if its a potential cusitmer. That is horrible customer service and I didnt even get the chance to make in the door. I would hate to see how rude they are inside!

I like the atmosphere of this place and the person who did my pedicure was very nice. My only complaints are that my heels are still really rough and my toenails were left to long. I have a couple of toes that will go ingrown if left to long so now I will have to have my next pedicure done sooner than I normally have to because my toenails were left to long. I have never had this happen with a pedicure before so I will now ask to have my toenails cut short when getting one.

I love this place. My pedicure was amazing and where Im from you dont bring your own files so it was very satisfying to know they followed the law and I was able to get a set of files I can always bring back with me. Im really excited to see how well my nails turn out when I decide to go get them done. Only wish they had a website with prices and pictures to know how much it will be for Im wanting! Other than that this will be my regular place!

Fantastic place for manicures and pedicures. Prices are very good. Be sure to call ahead for an appointment as they always seem to be very busy. They will fit you in without an appointment but you may have to wait a while. The owners Lon and Lee are great people!!

One of the nicest places Ive been to. Got a manicure and pedicure for $45. Then got $4 off for student discount. They sell reusable nail files kit to bring back every time you come here

I have been going to Modern Nails for several years. They know me by name and always give excellent service. My feet are cleaned up professionally and I love feeling the health in that. Having them look nice and with good polish is a bonus. All are respectful and careful.

They over book clients and the wait time is typically 20 mins past your appt time. Plus, they barely talk to you. The massage is really brief compared to other salons that charge less money.

From the friendly greeting at the front door to the most attentive, professional manicure Ive found in Corvallis-- Modern Nails is most excellent. I fully enjoyed my first 2 visits and definitely will be going back! Great prices, great atmosphere, clean.

Modern Nails is god awful. I’ve gone there twice now and both times I’ve had my nails filled they do not last and look terrible. Definitely do not recommend.

Great place to get your nails done, and the prices arent outrageous

I called ahead to make an appointment and to make sure they would be able to do my nails within my 1 hr lunch time. They assured me I would be in and out within a hour. I got there right on time and was told it would be a couple minutes. I then sat and waited for 20 minutes with someone coming up to me every 5 mins or so to say it would just be another minute or 2. I finally just got up and left only to be chased down in the parking lot....literally one of the employees ran out after me.I told them I had to get back to work and there wouldnt be enough time. No one apologized. No one seemed to care that I had an appointment. I get that they do walk ins and stuff but why have people make appointments if you dont honor those times? I did my due diligence by letting them know my time constraints and confirming they would be able to work within them. They could have called me to let me know they were running behind. That was my first time going there and it will be my last. Im sure they do great work but their customer service and first impression skills leave much to be desired.

I have been to Modern Nails & Hair several times and choose them over others. They set appointments and take walk-ins as well. Most importantly, I dont walk out and wonder why I came back. They are very customer service oriented. Everyone will have a bad day, but it is rare with them, otherwise they would be out of business :)

This is probably one of the worst nail places in Corvallis. They are extremely rude and dont do a very good job. The customer service is probably the worst Ive ever been too. I seriously recommend not coming to this nail salon and going somewhere else unless you are looking for dissatisfactory service. This place is garbage!

Worst pedicure Ive ever had. Four different people took turns on us. The massage was painful and so fast I was happy when it was over. The woman cut me and the polish job was horrible. They also charged me $5 for files. Im pretty sure files should be included in the price of the pedicure. Also my feet are just as rough as when I went in. I was hoping to have pretty feet for Hawaii. I literally had to go home and remove the polish. Not happy about spending $60 to polish my own toes. Get a pedi here at your own risk. Oh and make sure to bring your own files from home.

Took over an hour to remove my dip nails and my new ones are insane thin, not even, and different lengths.. Very let down.. Was there for 2+ hrs.

Worst nail place I have ever been to. The lady was rough, kept asking my boyfriend to hurry up and pay right when we walked in the door, she was sooo rude, did a horrible job on my nails, and theres bubbles under my nails and didnt take her time doing my nails.
