I recently relocated back to town from Los Angeles, California, and was unsure about which new salon I would commit to, as well as how many I would have to visit before I found a suitable setting and hair stylist, but Shades of Salon was a secret gem that I discovered right away! The owner trimmed and styled my hair elegantly and seamlessly, and I walked out looking like a new woman. Not to mention how flattering the setting was; it was glamorous. I will most certainly return and suggest Shades of Salon!

Delilah did an amazing job on both the cut and color of my hair. I went in not really knowing what I wanted, other than a major change, and trusted Delilah to work her magic. I couldn’t be happier with the result. The salon itself is very cute and clean. I would recommend Shades to anyone looking for a stylist in the downtown area.

Very nice stylist, but a terrible haircut. I went from long hair to a bob, so I had a ton of hair to work with (which makes this more heart breaking for me). I realized after washing the waves out of it that it’s significantly longer in the back than the front AND longer on one side than the other. It’s also much shorter than the picture I showed, even though she said she was “starting long” - I would hate to see what starting short would have been! The texturing is not blended and looks like a short haircut on top of a longer hair cut. The stylist apologized and offered to fix it, but after thinking on it I’m just going to pay for a second haircut somewhere else.

I have been to Delilah at Shades twice now and become more impressed each time. She gives you exactly what you want every time. I love her customer service, attentiveness, and her talent. I absolutely love my hair and the way I feel when I leave the salon. Book Delilah if you get the chance

I absolutely love Delilah and her professionalism, attention to detail, and most importantly her honesty. I went to see her on Sunday for a total hair transformation (from dark brown to icy/cool blonde). Even before my appointment, she reached out to me for inspiration pictures and honestly told me how many sessions she thought it would take to achieve what I wanted. I went there not expecting to achieve the expected hair color but was pleasantly surprised at how much she was able to almost match my inspo pic. I also appreciated the fact that after I got done with my 1st toning session, she didn’t like the outcome and toned my hair down with some ash toner so that I didn’t go home with orange-ish hair. It definitely was a drastic change for me but I’m loving the progress/color she achieved. I can’t wait for my follow up session with Delilah because I know I’ll love the outcome.

After calling several salons in concord and then having no one who could cut extensions I got connected with Autumn at Shades and so glad I did.she added Long layers to my extensions with wavy curls. It’s not easy cutting extensions and she did such an amazing job it changed my whole look for the better!! She is awesome and I certainly will be back.

I love Autumn! She did a fantastic job cutting my hair and is so sweet and personable. The whole salon has a very comfortable vibe everyone there is so friendly. I plan on only going to Shades from now on.

Dont advertise walk-ins welcome if youre just going to ignore them. My experience was a couple months ago and I simply wanted to speak to a stylist about what could be done with my hair and set up an appointment. I waited for 20 minutes, there is no front desk/counter so I stood around for 10 minutes before taking a seat in the waiting area next to a customer. Even though two different stylists finished with their current clients and came up front to grab the next customer, neither said so much as hello to me. I had hoped someone would at least acknowledge my presence and I would have patiently waited to speak more in depth. I would have even accepted someone simply telling me they were full with appointments and not accepting walk-ins that day but, it was like I didnt exist.

Kari is the best, shes been doing my hair for over a year now. And its always amazing. She cuts my husbands hair too, she does excellent mens hair!
