I hired Expressions General Remodel for my master bath remodel in October 2017. This was to be a fairly extensive remodel, including enlarging the shower, moving walls, plumbing and adding electrical. The project was estimated to be over $23,000. I was initially impressed by Miles who represented the company professionally and assured me that this family run business would do a beautiful and professional job. See their website for photos and compare to photos posted by customers... note discrepancy in quality and cheapness of actual work done.In my experience there was a total lack of communication between team members; Janeth, Miles and Arnold. This created constant chaos, confusion, frustration and mistakes. Janeth (partner), Miles (salesman) and Arnold (contractor) repeatedly failed to communicate plans, details, or materials needed. Janeth repeatedly failed to answer simple questions or respond to emails. She provided little guidance or assistance but added a great deal of confusion and unnecessary drama to this project. There was little regard for finishing touches or quality workmanship. Errors made were disregarded with no accountability. When Arnold placed the wrong tile order to trim the shower and shelves within he blamed the mistake on me stating no such tile exists. Without so much as an apology or calling the tile shop to inquire about the right tile, he demanded I order the tile. He tells me to order 40 linear feet yet Janeth tells me 50 ft. The tile is over $10/ft. In actuality I needed less than 25 ft. I then received a harassing email from Janeth stating I was the cause of the delays and costing them a lot of money! To make matters worse they are now demanding payment for their mistake! Promises to repair or replace poor workmanship were ignored. Wall paneling was laid improperly, with partial boards at eye level, while full boards were hidden by wide baseboard. The plumbing in the shower is crooked, and off center. They reversed the hot and cold in the tub! The floor tile is not centered in the entrance way as they started tiling from the back to the front. There are random cut pieces throughout the floor with no symmetry. The pipe from wall to toilet sits so low that it would be impossible to place a scussion plate on the wall without cutting into the baseboard. I have since been told by several other reputable contractors that the shower was not waterproofed according to industry standards, yet Expressions General Remodel was ready to tile it.What I deemed unprofessional conduct, threatening and intimidation tactics were repeatedly employed by both Janeth and Arnold to hurry the job along. Yet day after day workers wouldnt show up as promised or leave as soon as they arrived stating they didnt have the materials necessary to continue work. When inquiring how much extra it would be to replace the bath tub Janeth replied it could be offensive for some people to talk about price for something they wish to have. What professional business person responds in such a way? After being advised by Janeth and Miles to order an under-mount tub, Arnold stated I should have gotten another type of tub. Janeth repeatedly accused me of adding on more work, yet only one change order exists. Details were repeatedly disregarded or overlooked. There exists absolutely no supervision of workers by Arnold. I paid an extra $1729 for tile yet have enough left over to re-tile the entire floor and twice the amount of shower pan tile.I could no longer tolerate what I considered incompetence, unprofessional conduct including harassment and intimidation ploys and had to let them go. They have since hired an attorney to claim defamation and liable. Another scare tactic by Janeth.In writing this review I hope to spare another homeowner the unpleasant and unprofessional experience of working with this company. I definitely would not recommend Expression General Remodel. In my experience they proved not to be a professional, reputable, reliable or honorable business.

Amazing experience! Esmeralda was really helpful at answering all my questions and concerns. She went into detail with me on the design i wanted. Made me feel really comfotable going forward with my project. She seems really experienced and she knows her stuff. I recommend her to anyone who is looking to update their kitchen needs. My kitchen install went smooth and everything went according to the plan. Thank you Expressions general remodel for this great experience.

My wife and I are absolutely satisfied with Expressions General Remodel. I called them for a free consultation and what I loved most about the team is that I give them an idea of how I wanted my kitchen and they show me whats the best they can do, as they finished the the layout it was almost as if they read my mind!! They were always on time, they cleaned up at the end of the day so I wouldn’t have to deal with the mess and they always accepted my request for any slight modification I needed. I would absolutely love to thank Janeth and Arnold for giving me a comfortable experience and for giving me the most beautiful kitchen I’ve ever had. I can say that they really are the best kitchen remodeling business compared to the others I’ve hired in the past and I recommend anyone who is looking for experts to remodel your kitchen and/or bathroom to choose Expressions General Remodel.

I can not thank them enough!!! I hired expressions general remodeling back in October 2017 and everyday I wake up I am just happy to make breakfast in my new beautiful kitchen. What I loved about working with them was the free quote and estimation of the work. After we came to an agreement they gave us a little tour of their showroom with all the materials they had in place and it was hard to choose because it was all beautiful. The person who assisted me by the name of Janeth was very easy to work with, a great communicator, she lead me through the process and was very agreeable. Arnold came to my place and took all the measurement and gave me an estimation, what I loved is that he always double checked with me to make sure everything is going as perfect as possible, the whole process took about 5 weeks and they were always under tight supervision. I had never felt more comfortable working them and I recommend to anyone who needs their bathroom or kitchen done to hire expressions general remodeling, from experience they over-deliver and you get more than what youre paying for

One of the best teams I have worked with! My friend referred me to expressions general remodeling because I loved what they had done to his kitchen so I hired them in January and I can not express how beautiful my new kitchen is. I had a great experience working with them they give you a FREE quote and estimation. After we came to an agreement they gave us a little tour of their showroom at their headquarters with all the supplies they had in place, they had so many options it was difficult to choose I was already imagining my new kitchen already. I was assisted by the owner Janeth and she was the best to work with, she always double checked with me because they treat your kitchen as if it was theirs. Arnold (her partner) stopped by and took all the measurement and gave me an estimation, the best part was that he always double checked to make sure there was no error through the process, the remodeling took us about 3 weeks and took great care of my kitchen through out the whole process. I had the best time working with them and recommend expressions general remodeling for kitchen and bathroom renovation, they really do give you more than what you pay for and I can not thank them enough.

When I relocated to join my husband, I was absolutely happy until I got to see the kitchen and parts of the home. I knew my husband has not always been too choosy as he could easily make do with whatever is available, now that is the only area I happen to be the opposite of him. I saw what was going to be my kitchen and I almost lost it. He must have seen how appalled I was and decided to help the situation by calling in people that would give the place a facelift. Then Juan and his team were invited and they went to work in overhauling the kitchen, the backyard and the adjoining areas. They turned the whole place around and due to their effort, I now have a kitchen that is worth the word. I owe Expressions general remodel a million bucks for a job perfectly done!

WHAT A FREAKIN DISASTER!! I write this as a consumer warning....I hired Expressions General Remodel for kitchen remodel after seeing their website and being impressed by what looked like high end work. I quickly realized they have no idea what they are doing. They hired inexperienced, low paid workers who had no idea what they were doing and had ZERO supervision! I was promised high quality craftsmanship and professionalism. However, I got neither. What I did receive was a disastrous project that is costing $27,000 more than I anticipated to complete and will need most of the work redone. Pictures to follow.

My kitchen is just a sight for sore eyes! When I recieved the coupon in the mail it looked very promising so I decided why not schedule an appointment and get a free showroom. I called Janeth to make an appointment and she responded quick and professionally. She also mentioned that we get a free quote plus we would get a free 3D designing process where they do a virtual layout of my kitchen before we even start the process I was able to see how my kitchen looked like before I decided to pursue further I couldnt ask for more! I was indecisive at first then decided why not I already see my kitchen before it has even been renovated. Soon Miles stopped by my place and he was just great to work with, very professional and easy going. He made sure that everything in my house was up to code, he conducted all of the measurements and gave me an estimation afterword it already seemed like I was having a better end of the bargain anyways so I agreed and continued to further the renovation. The crew was always on time, respected the house worked weekend and felt that they treated my kitchen like it was theirs by cleaning up after so I wouldnt deal with any mess. I can not thank Janeth and Miles enough every morning I feel like I walk into a new home and it looks even more beautiful than it did virtually. Expressions general remodeling crew really know what they are doing and I cant wait to see what they will do to my bathroom when I hire them again.

DO NOT HIRE THESE CROOKS! Not only are their workers underqualified, their craftsmanship sloppy, and the materials ridiculously cheap, but they refused to come back to make repairs, they use intimidate tactics, they dont stand behind their work, and worst of all, they took advantage of a vulnerable, elderly, handicapped woman who didnt have the knowledge or the capacity to stop them. They downgraded her kitchen and made it handicap inaccessible. They are unprofessional; Janeth hangs up on conversations she doesnt like; Miles was late and didnt call, uses inappropriate language in a professional setting, and doesnt come prepared for meetings; Arnold threatened the owner in her own home; the workers drink beer on the job. If youve had problems, contact me to join our class action lawsuit against them. The list of dissatisfied customers is growing, we have a good chance at recouping our losses.

I had the misfortune of bearing witness to the poor quality workmanship and unprofessional business practices employed by Janeth Aguilar and Arnold Magos. I have been a homeowner in the East Bay for over 50 years. During this time I have hired many licensed and unlicensed workers. In all these years never have I come across such unprofessional, unapproachable and arrogant people. They represented themselves as a family run business who would do a beautiful and professional job remodeling a family members master bathroom. Instead they hired the job out to unskilled workers who didnt have command of the English language. The work they performed was abominable. Arnold and Janeth repeatedly refused to take responsibly for poor quality work, mistakes in ordering, and delays. Janeth (owner) added nothing to the project but drama and chaos. The workers were sullen and rude. They refused to so much as bring in a package for the project from the doorstep when asked. Arnold (contractor) was always too rushed to answer simple design questions or pay attention to detail. Workers repeatedly didnt show up and Arnold wouldnt respond to calls or texts. Due to their shoddy workmanship and unprofessional conduct they were fired. In order to complete the job several other contractors where called to assess the damages. As it turned out not only was the quality of Expressions General Remodeling work substandard, but they violated CA codes. Hard to believe any of the 5 star reviews they have are real.
