This is THE gym. If you are into lifting and love a more serious vibe, this is it. You have found it. I have gone to multiple gyms throughout my life and this one takes the cake. It has an immaculate old school bodybuilding feel that is unmatched. The people that go are hardcore into lifting and such a motivation. Ive never gone and its been packed packed, and the staff is very nice and answers any questions. I simply love this gym.

Fitness is a great gym in a convenient location. Ive never had to wait for a treadmill. The locker rooms are always clean and the staff is very friendly. Pricing is also reasonable compared to other options in the area. The gym has been taking safety precautions.the Regional Director, was also very helpful.Really great gym!

This gym is one of the best I have ever used, and that says a lot. Fantastic facilities, towel service, impeccably clean. I always use the sauna and this one was terrific! Opens early. Staff were wonderful. Great location near the Today show!

I love this gym! The facility is recently renovated and looks great. They have a wide variety of machines and weights and I hardly ever have issues finding the weights I want when Im lifting. The group classes are great and all included with the membership price.

I love that there are old school weights! I never have to wait to use any equipment, on top of all that the staff is super nice.

This is probably the best gym in the area. Its very clean and modern. The staff members are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! I love the facility and the their classes as well. They have the peloton bikes which Im very obsessed about and theres enough machines to accommodate people.

I have been going to Sport & Health for the past few months. Overall it has been really great. I like the cardio and weight lifting equipment. I am also a big fan of the Body Pump classes which are great for an overall workout. I currently attend classes via Class Pass, but have been considering purchasing a membership for my family.

I like going here, very friendly and accepting environment with enough power racks so theres no wait. Like every other gym, they barely enforced a mask policy during COVID-19.

Powerhouse is a convenient club offering most amenities located in central Columbus downtown. The gym may offer trainers and some classes. I met my wife here and have been happily married for 3 years, together for 5!

My view PowerHouse Gym was just trying to get some infro on price and win can get in and work out. I like the veiw.

Good gym - old equipment that isn’t maintained well however it is a real gym. If I wanted to see clean unused equipment with rookies everywhere texting I’d go to lifetime. They have every rack, machine, and everything else you need and then some. Just need a little “remodel/refresh” In due time. Love it

This gym is classic. Lots of heavy dumbbells and lifting platforms. There is even a powerlifting room in the basement. Everytime I am in Columbus I make it a point to lift here.

Ive been going to Powerhouse only because its walking distance from my house. If I had another option within walking distance, Id probably go there. Dont get me wrong, this gym isnt all bad but it definitely could use some sprucing up. The bathrooms/basement area always smell like sewage and flood somewhat frequently. The equipment is pretty old school, which some like, but it all could use a good cleaning. Cardio machines are dust-covered and almost all have their cupholders missing. The rec-room upstairs always has stuff everywhere and mats/balls are just in a heap on the side for you to dig through. The tile flooring in there separates and will pinch you. Another con, which they cant help, is the bus stop out front makes for some interesting interactions. People pee in the ally near the exit and homeless people hangout there. BUT, if youre looking for a classic gym that welcomes the big, beefy, grunting, bodybuilder type, this gym is great for that. People are serious about their work outs. If you can overlook the cosmetics of some of it, this gym is pretty cool.

Decent gym. Lots of old equipment. Fairly dirty and dusty. The theme of the old bank vault couldve been worked on a bit more. Certainly could have had more squat racks and the fans not covered in dust. However, had to make a trip as it was Powerhouse Columbus. I cant imagine too many regulars going here.

My friend introduced me to this gym. It is extremely convenient for me-It has everything I like (minus an indoor track, but those are hard to come by), and is within walking distance from my work, so it allows me to go during my lunch break when its not as busy. It does have a focus on strength and body lifting training, but it is very accommodating to any one looking for any workout type. There are multiple personal trainers who will customize workouts so that the results are what you want. The locker rooms are clean and have showers, as well.

This is a no frills get to business type of gym. Its one of the most diverse in terms of clients Ive ever been to. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because whole the lockeroom is clean it can get musty especially in the summer.

Ive been coming here a couple years, convenient for work. Seems theyre always doing something to improve the place, painting, decorating, rearranging the machines. Staff is friendly. Clients are a mixture of those looking to exercise (me) and those more serious about their physique.

1st class gym. Places like this is where you put on size. The hack/half squat, seated peck deck, deadlift station and an atmosphere to let a little cave man out when you need to! Everything you need to focus in on your improvements. Friendly and helpful staff as well

The weight facility is good as long as you dont need new weights. Personally if its metal with a stamp on the side that says how much it is, then Im good.But they dont maintenance the weights well.By that I mean the dumbbells all put together with bolts on the ends and the bolts often get loose and it doesnt appear any one tightens then regularly.A bunch of the ellipticals incline function doesnt work properly, but they do have plenty of treadmills.The girls have a sauna but the guys done and dont get your hopes up on other facilities.No steam room and no pool.The do have a spin room with spin classes.All in all its a gym with everything you need to lift and nothing else and is maintained poorly.But it is just down the street.They also make you sign a contract or pay more monthly.The only good price point are group rates which are supposed to be for a family only.

Although I’m only in Columbus about 2 weeks a year, I always go to this gym. Great location downtown. Great, helpful employees as well. They never try to get me to sign up for anything I don’t need. Excellent facility as well.

I have been going here for over 3 years since its a quick 5 min walk from where I live. Affordable membership and its a nice neighborly, unpretentious gym. I usually go for the group classes, which are varied enough with a mix of strength-training, high-intensity, yoga, spin, dance fitness, etc. Also has good variety of equipment and spaces to do your own thing.

I travel extensively and my first priority after getting settled in my hotel room is finding a gym. Great downtown location just blocks from area hotels. Their day pass is super reasonable, it was a no brainer. Lots of equipment and weights to satisfy all your power needs. Bonus is the historic architecture surrounding your workout.UPDATE: After the gym received my positive feedback through an alternate business survey vehicle, they reached out to me, asking if I would write a google review. I did so as stated above. HOWEVER I just revisited the gym this past weekend on my recent business trip and they jacked-up the day rate by 33%. The whole basis of my positive feedback was based on the reasonable cost of a single workout. I feel betrayed after my good-will effort and now the cost is at the price point of either using the hotel gym or waiting till I get back home. Not happy.

I love this gym! The owner and staff are so friendly and really take time out of working to know the members and get to know them. They have so many LOCAL amenities that I love seeing and buying to support small businesses. From the meal prep service, ran by the gym owner himself, to the freshest juices, ready made meals if youre in a pinch, to protein shakes, snacks and prework. Clothes and products, tanning and they are still adding and growing! Ive been a member for 2 years and its been nothing but continual growth and additions to make the gym even better! Its affordable and the weight room has so much to offer!

I am sure the gym is fine, but I would have appreciated a lot more transparency around the pricing. I broke my ankle the same week I got the membership and therefore did not go for the first two months and tried to cancel the membership. When I signed up I was not explicitly told that a minimum month to month membership duration was 3 months or that I had to cancel the membership 31 days prior to the next charge date. So now I am stuck with ~$90 lost on a gym membership I did not use.Tl;dr Owners, please be more transparent in person and online with all pricing issues.

Not a a gym for socializing if youre serious about training and want an excellent no nonsense gym with good equipment this is your place if people lifting hard and making a little. So I had an issue were they couldnt withdraw $ to renew my membership because my card wasnt updated. They claimed to had try to contact me for 3mths. Long story short I woke to $ missing from my bank account, which was the total amount I needed to pay. So heres my issue if you couldnt get it on my old card for 3mths but took it off when Im in debt on a new one.....I call BS on that.Final Note: try mailing next time😡😡😡

Lots of good equipment packed into a fairly small space. Had lots of posters and stuff with Arnold so that was pretty cool. Its downtown Columbus so parking could be an issue at times but this gym is definitely worth checking out

I tried to call and ask about membership prices here, but the phone was out of order, even though they require you to have a phone number for membership on their website. After reading the owners despicable response to another reviewer, we are not for man buns and caramel lattes I think Ill just stay away.

This gym always had all the necessary equipment to get yourself in shape. Now, theyre getting newer equipment and making the place look a lot prettier.

No matter your fitness level Powerhouse Columbus is the place for you. Started a year ago, overweight and out of shape.. I have since, with hard work, become stronger and fitter than I I have been in my life. This gym has the best staff, trainers and owner. They are encouraging and supportive. When I started I was intimidated and unsure, many of the people there are very fit. I now use it as motivation to continue my fitness goals.. come check it out. You wont be disappointed

I have been a member of this gym for 8 years, and I have to say that after the remodel, this place has become a better environment to work out at. WORD OF CAUTION: When the Arnold is in town, this is packed. PACKED-since its one of the few gyms that is close to the convention center.

Great place to lift if youre really serious and driven about getting a good workout. Great facility, considerate and supportive staff. Gets a bit crowded around 5pm - but thats to be expected. REALLY wish they were a 24hrs gym - that would make them PERFECT.

This Place is a disgrace the customer service is terrible the cleanliness is bad. The location is in great spot downtown but they have the worst quality of people owning this location.

Ive been to almost every gym in Columbus and I will definitely be staying at the Powerhouse. Everyone is so nice and supportive and its a great environment to get all your gains.

Old school gym in downtown Columbus. Red Roof Plus does not have its own gym so you have go here for a workout. 10 minute walk there and back so you can some extra steps in. Mostly weights with only a few aerobic machines upstairs. Picture of Arnie in his prime all over the walls. The changing room was a little rough and the hot water took some time to appear in the showers - plus you have to pay $1 for a towel.

Ive been a member for 3 years and wont go anywhere else. What I like most is its old-school feel. The atmosphere of the gym conveys this shut up and train sort of vibe. The cli-ling-ling, cli-ling-ling of the steel plates hitting one another as one do a set is just therapeutic. There are all levels of fitness people there from beginners to individuals preparing for a competition which I enjoy. Great gym culture and equipment!

Great atmosphere for people serious about fitness. Very friendly staff that is very willing to help with any question or concerns you may have. Unfortunately free parking is sparce (as expected in the city) but when the gym goes 24hr that will alleviate some of the issue.

I filmed in this gym last year. I love the gym and the old school feel of it. We are lucky to have the official gym of the Arnold Classic in the heart of down town.

This review is based on my attempt to tour the gym today. I walked into the gym and asked the front desk associate if I could have a tour. He asked, of what?... and I said, the facilities. I dont think my request was odd. When searching for a gym, I usually ask for a tour and an overview of what is available. The associate then showed me the main workout area, but didnt go over what makes the gym special, what promotions are available, use of the sauna... nothing. He even hesistated when I asked if I could see the locker rooms (this is important to me because I want to make sure the locker room has everything I would need to get ready for work after a morning workout). I would have gladly left my ID with the front desk if there was a concern that I was there for any questionable reason. I had high hopes of joining this gym based on the reviews claiming that staff are friendly and helpful, but I did not get that impression today. The associate didnt even ask if I had any questions (which I did), or try to guage what my fitness goals are. Unfortunately, my search for a gym continues. I just hope the owner sees this and has a talk with the front desk about how to be more welcoming and strive to gain new members.

First of all this is not a club. Its a gym. You lift weights there and work hard. Its not going to smell pretty. I dig this gym. Good equipment and well laid out. If youre looking for pretty and clean, you might want to visit planet fitness.

New management is making a big effort to draw in folks from a variety of different fitness backgrounds, and the new construction changes are looking good. Front desk staff is always friendly, and although the class schedule is somewhat limited, class times are convenient and the classes are varied, from spinning to kickboxing to yoga, and even a popular high intensity class on Saturday. And the price is RIGHT.

Fantastic gym! Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Inclusive environment for all fitness levels. Every crossfit toy you could want is located upstairs. If thats not your thing, there is tons of cardio machines on the same floor. Prices are extremely affordable and they have lots of bring-a-friend incentives. Five stars!

Pros: owner takes pride in his gym (paint, equipment upgrades, limited down time for equipment repair, etc), good equipment selection - both machines and free weights.Cons: parking is horrendous, floor space is really tight, way too much social media focus (members taking photos/videos during workouts, TVs streaming IG posts, etc).

It hasnt been an easy few years for the company, but the gym itself has always been great for me. I like most of the people who go there and we usually say hi when we see each other.Theres an old school gym feel to it and its great for folks who are serious about their lifting and training.

This gym makes big improvements every season, I did not think it could get any better and it keeps getting better and better! Whoever the owner is must take a lot of pride in this stuff! I wonder if every Powerhouse Gym franchise flourishes like this downtown Gym in Columbus?

Never busy. Staff is very knowlegable as well as friendly. Old gym feeling with every piece of equipment that you can imagine. Free parking . Free classes. Also Arnold Schwarzenegger workouts there when he is in town. Enough for me

Im new to the gym and I went because my trainer Billy (whos the best around) went there and I followed him after he left Breathe. Without him, I wouldnt have signed up. The womens locker rooms are pretty awful so I dont shower there or really use the facilities at all. Im in and out. Yes, as others say, its a no-frills kind of place. Theres so much potential--the space is obviously historic and could be beautiful. Im hoping that with the new owners the place gets a major update but please dont forget the ladies!!

Worse place, i signed-up online at this gym and i had to move due to some emergency problem. I called the gym to cancel my membership and they guy told me they could not cancel my membership without me being there. Take into account that i am out of state and they wanted me to come in to cancel. I will not recommend this gym because they are not flexible and they will never accommodate you regardless of your situation. People are friendly if they are getting something out of you but whenever it comes to ending of membership or breaking of contract then you see the real side of them.
