I have been a member for more than a year now and I have simply loved the experience so far. They have pretty much everything that you would expect in a gym and everything is well maintained. I particularly liked their weight area where I would spend most of my time. Sad, they are closing down permanently this month!

Wow! What incredible customer service. Me and my husband are both career military Veterans. When our plans changed and we decided to move to move to another state, Jim Miller and his team were willing to work with us and change our membership. This customer service team hit it out of the park more than once for us. Been a member for at least 15 years, hate to be leaving! Thanks, all of you!!!

So, Im fairly new here but Ive been nothing but very happy! I want to start out with that the staff has been very pleasant and kind. There is a lot to do here and it feels like Im on vacation every time I go to the gym. Its a popular gym and even when there are a lot of people there are so many machines that Ive always been able to find some place to exercise. Im very happy with the pool and the locker rooms, being able to go swim after a workout and then heading to the locker room to wind down. Weve eaten at the cafe once, but the food was fresh and delicious. Some of the weight machines could use a little love but they work very well and I havent had any issues.

There are many reasons why I have been a Premier Club member for 20 years. The family-oriented facility, people-friendly staff, and general manager, Jim Miller, who has a unique grasp on the pulse of the club, all make for a great place to be. Unfortunately, I suffered a stroke two years ago that paralyzed me. The multi faceted offerings at Premier coupled with extensive use of the inside and outside pools gave me my quality of life back GET REAL! Without your health, what do you have? I absolutely cannot spend my money any better way! (Monte Rhoden, retired teacher/coach-Hilliard City Schools)

I just saw the reviews for Sawmill and feel inclined now to write a review, which i dont usually do. I am a mom with 2 young boys and have had nothing but great experiences here. My husband and 3 year old enjoyed swimming lessons and i really liked the spin classes. The best thing about the gym though is the daycare. My kids always have a great time there. The staff is great, very friendly and attentive. It is nice to not feel guilty about working out because you know your kids are being well cared for and are happy. Plus, i am not sure what happened with this breast feeding incident, but i breast fed my little guy a few times in the play area and never was given a hard time. In fact, i was given a chair and told to stay as long as i needed. I am very pro-breastfeeding, so i am sorry to the women who had negative experiences. It is just nothing i experienced and in fact, experienced exactly opposite.

Would be a decent place if there were a few changes. First the staff is absolutely incompetent and does not do a thing other than the very minimum they are assigned to do. The parking lot is supposedly a tow away zone, yet when patrons park outside of designated spaces and overcrowd the lot that is already too small, the staff does nothing about it. Also I have had numerous other grievances including being locked out of my locker and having to wait almost 30 minutes for a male staff member to appear and be able to go in the locker room to help me.Second the children problem is out of control. I get they want to increase their customer base by allowing parents to bring their children to the daycare rooms or let them play in the pools, but of course parents let their kids run wild on the machines and again, the staff does nothing. They used to have very nice machines including treadmills and bikes with TVs built in to the machines. yet because people abuse the machines those with TVs are now almost completely gone and even some of the replacement machines have begun to break. If you go between 4-6 p.m. on a weekday do not expect to find a parking spot in the main lot, and also be ready to get into at least 1-2 potential accidents from not being able to see around the other parked cars in such a cramped space.Bottom line...do not pay for this gym. If my apartment complex did not offer free membership I would have left for Planet Fitness or any other gym after the first time I walked out of this hell hole.**Edit since original posting. I love how the only replies from management are on the reviews praising the facility. Because, you know, listening to patrons who have had a bad experience and what they might change about the facility runs the risk of actually improving things. God forbid that happens.

My wife and I have been members for over a year. We have been members of numerous clubs in the area in the past and Premier is by far the best. Starting from the warming and always smiling front desk, to the awesome bistro, the marketing department and all the workers on the floor that make the place extremely clean and efficient, this place is top notch. The trainers are the best in central Ohio and the classes they offer are only given by seasoned and extremely dedicated people. The GM Jim Miller runs a gym that is inviting, family friendly and always willing to go the extra mile.I am a local chiropractor in the area who will only refer patients to this gym because of our outstanding experience and the way they promote a healthy lifestyle. In summary, My wife and I would also recommend Premier at Sawmill to anyone who not only wants the best gym and state of the art facility, but also an environment that promotes family and health.

Got a bad feeling about this gym when man at the reception desk was snooty as hell and kept repeating himself numerous times like I wasn’t complying quick enough. But he was sure nice to the lady behind me. decided it wasn’t worth my while. The lady who finally spoke to me was low key abrasive and kept repeating herself as well as if I were deaf or something. I just decided that this place wasn’t for me. They didn’t bother to ask why I was changing my mind either...I could feel the receptionist staring daggers at me as I was walking out. Just rude as hell, as if they made assumptions about me based on how I looked. But they sure were friendly and kind to the other patrons... I’m glad I didn’t spend a penny at this snobbish establishment.

This is a place that has much promise that is simply not utilized for the customers. It is laden with distractions and impolite staff members. In one room, there is a dozen or so televisions on one wall, all with a different channel being played. On paper, this sounds convenient but its a huge distraction. This motif repeated itself in almost every room. Pair that with most treadmills and the like come equipped with a TV and its just downright unnecessary. This doesnt even touch on the incredibly loud music they have blasting in the weight room. I can barely hear my own music over theirs pushing through noise-canceling headphones.Next, The staff, once you get past the front desk, is rude unless you happen to be paying them directly for training. I once asked one of them to spot me during an exercise when he was just standing around, not with a client. He begrudgingly did so but I felt the entire time like I was a nuisance because I wanted to make sure I didnt get hurt while trying to push myself. This is a piss-poor display of fellowship in a place where we all share the same goal: self-improvement. I would say this gym needs to reiterate that goal and make improving the forefront.

I have never written a poor review about any business, however, the general manager of Premier, Richard Smith, has managed to change that completely. If I could give a 0 rating, I would. Not only were they incompetent by lying to my mothers face, but their costumer service and their attention to their guests is beyond awful and the farthest from satisfactory. We signed a 2 year contract that was supposed to end in August. We were under the impression that the automatic payments would just cancel out right away, resulting in our membership being canceled if we didnt take actions to renew it. However, September came by, and we realized that we were being charged for a new month. When we called and spoke with the representative, he explained to us that the membership never actually cancels out on its own; instead we have to do that by giving a 30 day notice and pay for that month as well. We explained to him over the phone that we were not aware of that, and we asked, kindly, to be reimbursed for the September month. The representative, then, asked the general manager if we could do that, but the general manager proposed that we would just use the September month as our 30 day notice and the payment that was already charged from our account would just go towards that. We agreed, and everything seemed fine. After couple days later, we went in to finalize everything only to be told that our phone conversation was never documented and and that they cant do the agreement anymore. The general manager was terribly rude to my mother and my brother, basically calling them liars because he didnt want to waste time as he had no proof. He told my mother, look guys, I dont want to waste your time or my time, and ended the conversation by saying we have to pay an extra month (October) and only then the membership will be canceled. Lying, terrible, rude, and incompetent thieves. They say you tell 1 person if you had a good experience, and 3 when you have a bad one; and I promise you, I will never say something good about this establishment nor its employees to anyone. I will never recommend this business to anyone, and I will always talk about this experience. It kinda make sense with all the terrible ratings and reviews you folks get, but you have just earned yourselves another one. Good day.

Update: I hired a lawyer and the management at Premier at Sawmill immediately ran like cowards. They are guilty of extortion. The below is an email I just sent to the Better Business Bureau regarding management at Premier at Sawmill. It serves for a better review than the novel I posted earlier. This is regarding a total of almost $500 they have stolen from me and an additional $420 they are currently stealing from me.Attached is all the documentation they provided me with after an unreasonable amount of requests on my part. When they finally organized their mugging they threatened to hand it over to a collection within 3 days, though they finally submitted it to a collection agency a week later (this is after over a week of stalling on their part for an invalid bill that theyve failed to address for almost a year). The second document from the bottom was not filled out by me but uses my name and signature. This is not my primary dispute but I wanted to clarify (the handwriting is noticeably different though both are admittedly sloppy)As I read over this again I am physically ill by the disgusting nature these criminals seem proud to display. What happened to this world that something this ridiculous is even possible? The best explanation for how I feel is violated. I was mugged when I was in college. We learned shortly after that nothing was stolen from me and it was actually a gang initiation. 3 people beat me unconscious and I woke in a hospital several days later. I feel no anger towards the people who did this to me. I feel sorry that these people were given such a horrible lot in life, leaving them very few options and little hope of becoming happy and secure citizens. I will forever be outraged at the management of Premier. They are regular people, like myself, who have been given every advantage in life, and have benefited from thousands of years of societal advance. To be given such an unbelievable bounty and display this kind of behavior is representative of the most corrupt, repugnant people who are much more of a threat to society than any criminal who was given no alternative. Clearly the money is not my concern. I would relish the opportunity to turn down any money they offered me if they hoped to escape justice.I will not be surprised if these criminals are protected by an unjust bureaucracy but I think the information Ive provided is ample proof that these people have no consideration for their customers or for whats morally obligated as a human being. Everyone should be warned that these people are predators waiting for an opportunity to exploit those that theyve manipulated and tricked into giving them their trust.

I have pretty much been a member here since I was born. This place used to be great back in the day, but now it totally sucks. This is going to be a scathing review.First of all, this gym is behind the times, and for the price point, it is lacking in equipment/amenities compared to similar clubs, such as Lifetime Fitness. The group fitness classes are not challenging enough and clearly the instructors are not held to any sort of standard, whatsoever. For example, I attended a Power Yoga class that was literally floor stretches with zero workout component. It was exactly like a class one would expect to find at a nursing home. They also have much less weight-lifting equipment and machines than other gyms in the area.Another grievance I have is that everything is always BROKEN DOWN-- Whether its the sauna, the steam room, the bathing suit drying machine, or something else. Equipment and amenities are consistently out of order or not functioning optimally. Obviously, management fails to see the importance of fixing things in a timely member. It makes me wonder how Premier is doing financially. If you are going to charge people 100.00/month or more to come here, you better be on top of keeping things nice. But by far, The biggest issue I have with this place is the RUDE STAFF. Monday-Thursday, they close at 11pm and Friday-Sunday they close at 10pm. So, they ALREADY close pretty early for a gym. However, the problem is that the staff goes out of their way to harass you and bully you in to leaving early, far before the actual posted closing time. You could go in an hour and a half before closing time and the locker room staff will be shutting everything down and aggressively cleaning, getting in your way. They make it very clear, that as a member of Premier at Sawmill Athletic Club, you are not welcome. Never have I been treated so rudely at any other business.TONIGHT I came in around 9:30pm with a couple of friends, for a brief workout and a dip in the indoor pool. We were in the pool, having a relaxing swim, when suddenly a slovenly woman claiming to be the manager approached us (Im pretty sure she was lying). She told us that we needed to get out of the pool and leave immediately, because they had already closed. She said we could not use the showers or anything because she had finished cleaning. My friend pointed out to her that it was not yet 11pm, the closing time listed on their website. She insisted again that they had already cleaned and that the staff was ready to go home. We couldnt believe our ears. I would never be able to talk to a customer like that at my job!Respecting the managers wishes, we got out of the pool and went into the locker room to get dressed and get out of there. However, the manager stalked behind us and then literally pounced on my friend while she was completely nude. Her body language was aggressive, and it felt very awkward and invasive. Again, she yelled at us and said the gym was closed. At this point, it was JUST turning 11pm. Its not like we were in there after closing. My friend asked her to leave so that she could continue getting dressed. We put on our clothes and started to walk out, when she scuttled back and blocked us from exiting the locker room. She showed us some brochure with close times, and again, we made it clear that it was just now 11pm and we were trying to leave. The irony of this whole situation is that we wouldve left the premises well before 11pm had this woman not harassed us in the first place!!!It really felt like the alleged manager was discriminating against my friend, since she seemed to be primarily attacking her. She even implied that she was going to try to get her banned from the club.I would advise against spending your money at this establishment, unless you enjoy harassment. Also, non-related, but I found a bloody tampon on the floor in one of the showers.

Crappy childcare, however childcare was a key reason I joined (and now it is why I am leaving). The woman who oversees the childcare room seems to loathe her job. Multiple people, including doctors, child care professionals and strangers on planes (yes plural) have commented on how easygoing my child is, yet she did not want to watch my child and tried to get me to retrieve my child early when all was fine and I had barely broke a sweat. Ive had a few altercations with one and never has my issue been resolved. Talked to few other members similar issues. Checked reviews here similar issues. Most of the desk staff and service staff are nice and as helpful as possible. (Some are rude and lazy) Management just needs to rein in their personal trainers over inflated egos.Equipment is decent enough, gets the job done. Recent remodel is meh. Avoid peak hours..avoid late hours if you dont want to be around rude trainers.Lifetime in Dublin is nicer and cheaper if youre looking for a lux gym. It took me a full year and a ton of hard work, but I lost 100 lbs. using a smaller gym close to my house. After I lost all of the weight, I felt more comfortable and less self-conscious joining a larger gym (with more people around). Enter Premier at Sawmill. One day when I was checking in (you have to check in at the front desk when you enter), the staff member who checked me in was apparently training another staff member. As I was walking up to the counter, the staff member turned to the trainee and said, This is an example of a 3, then he turned back to me and checked me in. I thought this was a very odd thing to say, but didnt think much of it. Then, as I was leaving the gym, I overheard the same staff member say, This is an example of a definite 9!. I looked to see who he was checking in and it was a VERY attractive young woman. Right then it struck me what he was doing. Thats right, rating the women members! I know this sounds ridiculous, but the fact that I was rated a 3 by this jerk was enough to put me off course. All my feelings of insecurity came rushing back. I quit working out and didnt go to the gym for 5 months after that, but didnt say a word to the management and kept on paying my bill. Im finally ready to get back to my healthy routine, but Ill be finding a more supportive gym to be doing it at.

Facilities 2/5: Gym is well-lit and feels spacious enough. Indoor temperature is too high during the summer (bad enough that they set oscillating fans on one of the two indoor track lanes, blocking it off). During peak-hours you will have to wait for showers (not enough showers). Also, the child care center opens up into the lobby which make it pretty loud.Cleanliness 1/5: The locker side of the male locker room persistently smells of wet gym socks.Staff 2/5: Twenty minutes before closing, staff will ask you to hurry when showering so they can clean the showers. They also close off sinks to one or two available.Amenities: 4/5: Shaving cream and disposable shavers are free.Final verdict: Poor service, cleanliness, and temperature control issues preclude me from recommending this club to anyone.

This gym is outdated, the equipment is awful, but the staff here are incredibly rude. I work third shift so usually go in the last couple hours. At 10:00 at night (when they close at 11) they’re already cleaning which if no one is in an area I totally understand wanting to get things done and in order for closing, but your operating hours are as stated. If you say you’re open til 11, then you are. But an hour or hour and a half before close I’m in the squat rack, in middle of my set literally have weight on my shoulders squatting and the lady literally was cleaning underneath and around me. First of all it’s rude more importantly it’s dangerous, what if I had to drop that weight it would have landed on me or her and badly hurt one of us. That was my first time ever going in there too. Tonight I went in and after my workout wanted to swim, I was with a friend who witness all of this, at half hour til close the, what she said was, manager, comes out as soon as we got in pool and basically tried to get us to leave. Was super pushy about not wanting us out there. Feeling uncomfortable we did. Immediately after she followed us into locker room, I was naked trying to dry off and get dressed and she stopped and harassed us and wouldn’t walk or look away even though I have no clothes on and am clearly uncomfortable. She kept repeating herself endlessly as if we didn’t hear her the first time and it’s hard to get dressed and leave when she won’t walk away. I told her she was being way too aggressive and I was trying to dress and leave and she still wouldn’t walk away from us, she did finally for maybe two minutes at this point I was dressed ( finally), and she brings some paperwork stating rules and hours, she kept bringing up the old hours as if it was somehow relevant, especially seeing as i never came to this gym before now I always went to lifetime. Then proceeded to harass and yell at us and make minor threats such as going to someone higher up about us, she asked “ if this was going to be a problem” even though we literally did nothing except workout and get In pool briefly. I felt as though she was targeting me for whatever reason. I have many tattooes and piercings not sure if this was discriminatory or not, but it felt like it. I asked her to back off on my way out and she wouldn’t. This gym costs way too much for not having nice equipment terrible training programs and most of them don’t even look as though they work out or even take care of themselves. This is a gym, which should be promoting fitness and wellness. Being someon who is in there for the right reasons this is off putting and being treated like some criminal or awful person is not acceptable in any form of business. Lifetime is cheaper and way better cleaner and friendly. I’m probably going to go back there, I only came to premier because it’s closer to my home. If you’re serious about your fitness regiment and especially if you’re newer to fitness and need guidance do not come here. Save your money and motivation for a place that wants you to be there.

Apparently neither the general manager (Jim) nor his HR person care to follow Ohio law. A breastfeeding woman may do so in any public place where she herself is allowed. However, according to Jim today (2-18-2016), this mother should stop playing the victim and meet him halfway by moving to an empty room - or else the family should find a different gym. Note that the bistro where the breastfeeding took place was populated with the mother and her friend, one other customer, and the worker behind the counter. Not quite all the people around who were staring and commenting. Jim and the HR woman (wow- its her JOB to know the law) should be fired and Corporate should issue an apology to all breastfeeding mothers. Until then, this place should be avoided.

I thought these guys were quite nice, relatively clean location, lots of towels, all the fun Les Mills classes I like but they have a $149 cancellation fee that gets charged after a *free* three day evaluation period, and there were a number of little things I didnt like about them. Its basically a lot of minor things, so pretty much stop reading if you hate whining:First, the contract. I just came from a month to month location, so the cancellation fee already gave me some pause. Strikes me as greedy, frankly. For me, they did offer a ~$25 higher fee I could pay for month to month. Now, this location to me is very busy. Someone said it wasnt, wow! I wonder what they consider busy! Their main lot was overflowed and members who cant park there have to park across what I consider to be a fairly busy street. Thankfully they do have a street light seemingly dedicated to pedestrians in the area. Pretty cool. Then you get in. They only issue cards sized like credit cards. They do not do the smaller card you could add to your keychain. You also have to hand the card to the person at the front desk and personally, I prefer locations where I can scan a thing myself. They hand out class passes thirty minutes before each fitness class. This is to prevent busy classes from overflowing past capacity (unsafe), give more customers the opportunity to take the classes (you need a separate one for each class), and some classes require equipment which are limited. I just find it annoying to have to walk to the instructor in front of everybody before each class. Also hate having to do this additional interaction with the front desk prior to every single class. If they could limit it to just the busy classes - eh, Id still hate it.One other thing I found strange was that towards the end of one class, they announced they wouldnt be doing the last couple tracks and if you wanted something similar, you had to go to another class that was starting around then. To me, thats disrespectful. Members come to attend a class youve published on the schedule. Dont trivialize that choice, and the commitment you made to teach the class. Ive seen where at other gyms theyll recommend or announce the upcoming classes, but never a pair of able bodied instructors just not finishing their class because the gym wants to fill up another. The scramble lock on their locker room doors is new to me. I saw a number of people struggle with it... Theres also a hot tub - in the womens locker room, anyway - if you like that sort of thing. But for me its just so hot when I go to shower after a workout. I prefer to cool off right awayThey have ice; just have to ask the person at the cafe to please get you some and its free! Although Ive been spoiled by a prior location where I could just grab ice myself, I have to say this is pretty useful. Its basically a lot of things Im not used to. Without the $149 fee, I most likely would have tried. I may still be a guest in the future at $15 per visit.

My wife and I have been members at Sawmill Premier for two years. Despite some really nice amenities, this club seems to stuggle with basic maintenance and repairs. The roof leaks year-round and repairs are not made promptly. There are frequently multiple buckets set up to catch the water dropping onto the fitness areas. Today I saw they were using a wire mesh waste basket with a thin plastic liner to catch the water. The liner had falling down and water was spreading on the floor, within feet of floor electrical outlets. Whos making these terrible decisions that pose safety issues for members? Also much of the cardio equipment, liked treadmills, are dated compared to LA Fitness.Upsides are the staff is generally friendly and the mens locker room is kept clean and towels stocked.

$25 for a guest pass to work out was a rip off. Not even that nice of a place if you want to lift. Just a bunch of cardio machines and only 1 rack. I recommend going somewhere else if just looking for a place to work out while visiting.

The work out equipment is so old and outdated. In fact its the same equipment from when I used to go there back in 2002. One bench press, one of basically everything. Its just so awful the metal on the weights is rusting. If youre going there for weight lifting do no bother. Everything else seems better but I wonder why theyre so cheap on investment and it scares me to think that they might be trying to save on other things related to health and saftey of visitors such as pool maintenance, locker room sanatization and laundry. it definitely doesnt seem like a clean environment all around.

Im not sure why this gym trys so hard to promote movies for a younger crowd when moms are not able to breastfeed here in public. Naked people can walk around in the locker room without towels but moms cannot feed their babies here. Also I used to be a member at Westerville Athletic Club owned by the same owners and they would not let me out of my contract when they closed the facility. Beware of their shady practices!!

I have been a member at Premier at Sawmill Athletic Club for over three years, and I cannot speak more highly of an athletic club. The people there are amazing, and they blow me away with their customer service at every opporunity!!! You feel like you are surrounded by family every time you step through the doors. The cleanliness of the club makes me feel like they take pride in their surroundings like I do at home. I love all the classes they offer, and the instructors are some of the best in the city! My favorites are Laurel & Amy in yoga, because they push me to be better. My son also enjoys the kids club, and their summer camps so much that he begs me to go. I recently had his birthday party there since he loves it so much too, and once again they exceeded my expectations. All the children and parents had a great time!!! They took care of everything including the food, drinks, cake, and goodie bags so everyone was able to have fun and enjoy the party! My friends are still talking about it. We are also very thankful for the lifeguard who saved one of the children from drowning after he panicked under water. Thankfully she reacted so quick it did not even distract from everyones good time. We all felt blessed we had so many people at the club looking out for us. In my opinion there is no better atheltic club in the city, and I would highly recommend it to all of my friends & family. They care about their members, listen to their needs, and strive for bringing them the best!
