Needed the steering box rebuilt for my 1946 Dodge. Searched high and low for a used one and a 75 year old steering box is a rarity so none to be found. so I took it to Steer and Gear and they were able to rebuild it. Their price was even lower than I was told others had paid elsewhere.Highly recommend!

1 of the Best improvements made to the 64 MOPAR. Had the box rebuilt & added thrust washers to greatly stiffen up the feel like a new car. I rebuilt & painted all suspension while doing the box as well. Only reason they didnt get 5 stars is it took longer than promised as they had some boxes mixed up with mine.Car drives like a complete different car! Will be sending out the other 2 MOPAR boxes soon as well. Thanks

I called before carlisle couldnt get a steering box. Staff said they were Loading going to Carlisle show nothing available for B body 69 mopar. so I waited until show was over which lasts a week..I call back was told your filling orders from carlisle and trying to get ready for the nationals now. told I could bring my box down and it would take six weeks so I would now miss the nationals.I cant leave my car on my friends lift for 6 weeks.no way of moving it safely without steering box and no column in it. You cant find my order because you have nothing in stock to order.. your staff was more concerned over china box lares is selling that doesnt fit.

This is the second steering box I have purchased from Steer & Gear. The first one was a couple of years ago for my 68 Dart GTS. I purchased a Modern feel box to replace the box that all of the seals blew out. It worked perfect and improved the handling of the Dart immensely. So when the seals in my steering box started to leak really bad on my 68 Coronet RT I had no problem going back to Steer & Gear. This time Im sending them my core to rebuild ( for modern feel ) being my RT is all numbers mating and would like to keep it as original as possible Great people to work with, good price and shipping is on a timely manner.

These guys are awesome! I have a 1990 Dodge w-150. They not only resealed my gearbox but gave it a new ratio. Drivability is awesome. Its definitely tighter. This is a truck I drive on a regular basis and they gave it a more confident feel. I cant say enough good things about them. Carmen and Linda are awesome to work with. I trust them completely and will be using them again hopefully on some Mopar muscle. If I could give them 10 I would.

Ordered a rebuilt steering box for my Mopar Sport feel, received it exactly when described I would, and they even send out a return label for shipping. Big plus when the chuck is 30+ lbs. I cant comment to how it holds up, but a few drives around the block shows no leaks and much tighter steering. Overall pretty satisfied with my purchase.

Had chrysler box rebuilt. Had it put in but it was not working correctly. Had to pay 500 for shop to remove and reinstall. Steer and Gear found a metal shim was split and fluid was passing by. They fixed it no charge. Had unit put back in. It chatters loudly when the wheel is turned at low speeds. Brand new pump and belts. Totally restored car. The gear will need pulled again. They need better quality control.

Took off my steering gear box off, my 2018 Ford f650, because it was leaking, we took it into them. They said a couple days. Well they did call me the next day, and said back ordered till the following Wednesday at the latest. Well I called on Wednesday, at the latest, and still no rebuild kit has arrived. Hum. Then they said tomorrow, at the latest. Hum. You get the picture. Very discouraged customer. Craig. American towing

I had these folks rebuild the power steering pump on my 1967 Fastback Mustang in 2009 and here recently it quit working. I returned it and they fixed it and returned it back to me FREE OF CHARGE! and that included shipping. These folks stand behind their work and they are simply the best!

Steer and Gear rebuilt the steering gear for my 1956 Desoto and did a great job...until it started leaking at the input shaft weep hole about 1 year later with practically no miles on it. Now I get to pull it out again but this time Ill send it to a good rebuild shop. Money wasted using this company.

After 20 years of doing business with this company is needed warranty work.Well guess what. I had a ford steering box that went bad. It was on a 428 cobra jet torino. To pull box, you have to pull header, exhaust and more.I called. They said no problem we will take care of the labor. Well 7 hours out and 7 hours in. Send them a bill. They wont pay, said they will receive emburse original cost of box. What? Why? Cause its out of warranty.Well when we start a car and tear down we send a lot of stuff out to be reconnected furbushed on the front end so its done and ready to install. Thus box was stored in shipping box on shelf in climate controlled storage. Is it our fault the bearing failed? No.After two months they said sorry this is it take it or leave it basically. I cant charger my customer for this labor. Not his fault, not my fault.Been restoring car for 20 + years, award winning cars at Sema, good guys Mopar nationals. Never been slapped in the face like this.No offer to work with us or anything. 20 years, thousands of dollars spent.DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. Loyalty means nothing
