The volleyball developmental league and summer camps were great to prepare our daughter to transition to a club team with Hot Shotz. There are a lot of kids in the gym, but that only speaks to the popularity of the program. Our daughter absolutely loves PINS and we would recommend the developmental volleyball program for any kid looking to improve their skill set. The recent construction and upgrades are outstanding and add to our familys enjoyment of watching the kids play. Well done PINS!
Multiple attempts were made to reach them by phone to discuss a refund or credit for a summer camp we couldnt attend with more than a months notice (first voicemail was left 6/3/21 & camp wasnt scheduled until 7/26/21). They have not called back and when talking with a staff member directly (6/10/21) they said that they would take a message and could not provide a policy or any details. It was interesting that I did not receive a call back more quickly, since it only took them a day to call me back when we were scheduling and paying for camp. We had prior good experiences with the summer camp program and had planned to engage with their business again in the future. However, we will be moving to summer camps and sports programs elsewhere.
I love playing volleyball here!! The adult leagues are great - I played through high school & a bit in college & playing 4s even in the B league is competitive and fun. The owner & manager are always pleasant & they never get on my case for cursing during games 😆 I’m passionate, it’s fine. Can not recommend this place enough! I currently participate in 2 leagues & I always have a great time!
Play it Now has a beautiful remodeled volleyball facility. However, we are highly disappointed with the developmental volleyball league for 9-11 age range thus far. After several weeks in, the coaching has remained highly inconsistent. The first three weeks, the “coaches” were too busy talking and looking at their phones to coach. They would give the kids a drill to do without providing any direction on proper form, body mechanics, or other developmental skills. Many of these kids have never played volleyball and were expected to know how to complete drills and techniques without any guidance. We are now four weeks in, and I have watched the kids get yelled at for not “complying” to expectations that were never established. We are hoping our experience will improve as the season goes on.
I give it five stars because it is the best in town but there are some improvements that could be made. Chris the owner (and his wife) are great, but there is sometimes a staff member at the front desk who can be angry towards parents. I have walked by and witness exchanges on several occasions that were very uncomfortable. Once I tried to get a snack and the front desk member got mad at me because I only had a $20, it was very awkward (so I avoid the front desk unless the owners are there). It has also gotten very crowded, but we have tried other places and my daughter loves it here. The Pros more than make up for everything I just listed. They let my daughter play on her friends teams and most of her coaches have been high school volleyball players my daughter looks up to. Dont let the crowds scare you, my daughter has thrived there and several of her friends have made their school teams. Colorado Springs is very competitive with school volleyball so this is a great place to train. She tries out next year for her school and I will keep her at Play it Now when she is not in season. There are cons but the pros are far better than the other places in town. We tried Go Volleyball and YMCA and Play it Now has them beat.
Best place in town for volleyball leagues, womens, men and COED 4s. Even better since the renovation!
Freezing, no heat. Concerned about gilrs getting sick or injured from being so cold. Very restrictive facility. Rules, rules, rules, no to everything. Cant have a cooler even to store sack lunches. Cant use community tables, cant bring your own table. Teams camped outside. Signs everywhere. Thankfully, breathing is allowed.
Edited review:At first I was mad that they do not allow food tables and coolers inside. After their thoughtful and green reply, I agree with their point of view and edit this review: the place is not only great to play volleyball, but also environmentally responsible. We came for a volleyball tournament. Nice place, wish they would separate the courts so you dont have to stop the game every few plays when stray balls are bouncing from one court to another
We were there for a volleyball tournament. The front door woman is the rudest person I have encountered in a long time. She should never work with the public. PINS should find someone with some common decency and people skills to be the person that represents their busniness. Wont be coming back there anytime soon, if ever. I gave them one star because you can give zero stars.
Good sports programs no a/c
Not too many other places I enjoy playing indoor. Just wish they would do some tournaments from time to time.
We enrolled our kids in the 8 to 12-year-old football league here that lasted six weeks. Upon arrival we noticed five and six-year-olds also playing with them and our kids had to sit out half of the game so those kids had a time to play as well. our kids were very excited about the jersey that was to be included in our payment. They were bummed when it turned out to be a cheap T-shirt that shrink three sizes in the dryer. The coaches never talked once to the parents and even after ending the six weeks, there was not even a “thank you parents for bringing your kids out to play”. Will not be back and will not recommend to any of our friends.
PINS is super fun! A bit far away for me, but the tournaments there are always fun and organized well.
They are doing some remodeling so I look at the dumpster for scrap metal.
Visited in the past for birthday parties. This visit was for an indoor easter egg hunt. Spacious fields allowing for some distancing, although still was fairly crowded. Would visit again if a smaller gathering.Fyi, no food or drink allowed inside, and masks must be worn continually.
Oh how I miss the overflowing gym atmosphere with games in every area and children running everywhere. PINS has always focused on sports, family and fun! Even now in the pandemic they strive to offer a healthy social outlet for people while following Covid guidelines! Hard Ballance,Thank you!
We came from Denver for a tournament This is the worst Volleyball establishment we have ever been to. Very dirty, the floor is uneven very unsafe. The front door lady is so clueless on everything and has such a power trip its a recipe for disaster. Not to mention so many health restrictions not being followed..
Great place, we took our grandson and he had so much fun.
Management was super receptive to COVID concerns I brought up, and was willing to give my group of players a refund when we changed our mind about playing there because of it. I will definitely try to give them our business in the future when it is safe to do so because of their understanding. Thank you Play it Now, thats the right way to do business! I hope to use your services soon.
Volleyball courts are great and the space is massive, especially in the back, giving plenty of space for playing. I would say it could look nicer but its perfectly functional, so its not that big of a deal.
The coaches were clueless. The director was abrupt & short. The youth basketball program is a complete joke.
Our family has been playing sports here for awhile now and love it. We have three daughters and are youngest played soccer here for a little bit but is ready to play volleyball now. Are middle daughter is in the developmental volleyball league right now and can’t wait to go every week and play, are oldest daughter plays club here for Hot Shotz and you can never get her away, and my husband and I play in the adult league on Sunday nights and really enjoy it. The facility is in good shape and they have a lot to offer. We have always enjoyed the owners. Always there to help and work with you. Would recommend this play for many sports especially for volleyball. ❤️🏐
Always great at PINS. HotShotz volleyball is our sister from another Mister. Kevin and Dani run a great program. And Chris at PINS is always terrific! Thank you PINS & HotShotz!!!
Highly disappointed. We spoke with the owner about us being military and receiving orders (*out of our control)after paying for Volleyball and they wont refund us. We were told call back after 1st of the year due to covid now they say they cant help us after contacting them several times. Not military friendly to say the least.
We came down from Denver for girls volleyball. There are hundreds of people supporting a dozen or so teams and they had more area blocked off than what they had available to accomodate their, paying guests in the waiting area in front. People are packed in like sardines and sitting and laying on the floor where they had plenty of room and chairs in the closed-off areas. I asked why they had so many areas closed off. She said, We dont want to have to clean up everywhere. I wonder how much money they made on this tournament?
Our family loves coming to this facility! Its like our second home. The owners are very personable and very accommodating! Its always a pleasure to speak with them! Never leave there disappointed. Always have a sense of gratification after spending time watching or participating in the sports offered there. Thanks for all you do for the guests and community!
This place is for kids and those who want to learn the basics of sports! My kids have gone here here a few years and benefited. I recommend Play it Now Sports.
Played/coached volleyball there for years. Love it. Spacious and serves a GREAT purpose. Centrally located and convenient.
My only experience has been with introducing sports to my little ones. As with life some good and some bad. One of the main guys working here is great; nice, polite etc. Whereas the lady at the front desk is a crotchety old hag and has zero customer service skills. From reading the reviews and “owner responses” I assume she is the one writing the responses. From the “we are awesome, you have the problem” responses to reviews it is obvious there is no willingness for improvement. Also fix your entry doors! I have seen adults and children alike struggle to open them. I believe the way they are obstructed and coned off presents a fire hazard. Anyway last season for us at this establishment.
We have been with play it now sports for a few years now. We love the gym, location and the programs offered. Daughter plays volleyball and loves it.
Colorado Springs needs more facilities like Play it Now Sports. Compared to some other places that my daughter has played volleyball, the temperature is well regulated given the size of the building, it is pretty clean, plenty of room for seating, staff is easy to find and very personable.
This is a good place for introducing your kids to the very basics of sports. Dont expect any serious coaching beyond which basket to shoot at or which direction to kick the soccer ball. Signs, signs, everywhere are signs. They are incredibly strict on not walking here dont open this door dont sit in this chair no ball handling here... The signs are kind of obnoxious.
My kids did soccer and archery. Archery was great. The soccer team at first was mixed with 5-7 but the little kids didn’t mix well so they separated them more. Only three kids showed up the majority of the time.
We love Play it Now Sports! We have been going here year round and the kids love it! They have gotten to do Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball and there is so much more they have to offer. Hubby played indoor softball there too! Dont let the outdoor sports with the weather hinder you from playing sports or getting the kids involved - Come Join Us! Chris and Jill are great and all the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly and the kids love the coaches! Thank you for all your hard work and all that you guys do for our kiddos! =0)
I would say this place is mediocre; however because of my daughters soccer coach, I give you 5 stars. Coach Izzy has to be one of the most mature, caring, responsible, and best workers I have witnessed. One specific memory I can recall is when my daughter fell and scraped her knee, and Coach Izzy was right on top of it, and treated my sweet daughter with kindness, while still being on top of things with the other kids. Hopefully Play it Now Sports knows what a great employee they have.
Ok facility but dark. Many light bulbs out over the courts. During the volleyball tournament, the lady who advised us we couldnt bring food into the front area for our team was pretty rude; indicated we were subject to a fine if we didnt take the food out
This place is a joke. First off, I sent an email shortly after signing up with a question. In 8 weeks, they never responded. The communication is terrible across the board.Beyond that, the facilities are disgusting. You can smell the stench the second you walk in. The bathrooms are even worse and theres been an out of order bathroom and water fountain the whole time weve attended. Im sure its been neglected for a much longer time. Its basically and old office retail center that theyve minimally remodeled to form a basic, unfinished facility. We signed up for volleyball, soccer, and dance. The volleyball program is definitely where they focus, its obvious. The dance and soccer, however, are not important it seems. They dont even offer games for soccer or any performance for the dance. This is one of the more expensive volleyball leagues in town and theres nothing that makes it any different. We would not recommend this place to anyone. 1 star for the crappy facility and ownership, 3 stars for the coaches because they do their best. So 2 stars all around.
Hot Shotz came highly recommend to our family. The facilities are great. Our team received 2 coaches. As parents we thought that was great. This was until we realized the coaches were really really young and didnt care to actually coach the girls. All the parents complained and we were given another coach. This coach actually engaged the girls and made the 1 practice a week fun.We went to every game. The season was more like an open gym atmosphere, but it was exposure for our daughter.I would recommend this facility for families with children of ages 4 to 10.
Love Play It Now! My daughter started doing developmental volleyball there and is now on the club team. Through great coaching, great camps, and an overall great environment she has found a passion for a sport. Looks forward to going and learning more each time.
Had our sons birthday party here tonight and had an incredible time! Two hours, up to 20 kids, and incredibly reasonable-he picked two sports to play and didnt stop moving! The staff was very friendly and great with the kids. Will recommend to my friends and family and will definitely be back!
Owner is awesome. The facility could use some serious upgrades, however. Things like the AC, clean the bathrooms, etc. Little things around the place could be improved and given some extra care.
This can be a terrific place to find some used gems and occasional good new deals. Strengths at this location include hockey, snowboards, softball, & golf. They have a nice 7d return for store credit which can help make a decision easier. The Boulder location at Table Mesa has some great backcountry gear.
The staff who work the front desk need training in customer service. Asked for assistance when water was spilt in the volleyball area and the females response was I didnt spill it. Finally given some paper towels by a male staff member and was able to clean it.
We have been going to Play It Now Sports for four years. Our club volleyball team plays there and have always had a positive experience. Having traveled across many states in the club arena, PINS is very attractive offering clean bathroom facilities, adequate seating for those viewing sports, seating to eat and drink in the lobby and even a variety of snacks while you wait for your kid(s) to finish their sport/activity. I would highly recommend PINS for your indoor activities all year long (especially in the CO climate)!
Facility=A++, Soccer=A, Volleyball=F...This facility houses many sports programs. Kudos to Play It Now Sports (PINS) for providing a facility for new, old, and upcoming athletes to explore a different array of sports and allowing the local sport clubs to train at your facility. I can personally speak on experience on behalf of the adult volleyball club, youth volleyball club, and soccer program. The organization and coordination of the adult programs makes PINS an ideal spot for those interested in baseball and volleyball. Pride soccer holds skills camps during the winter months making this indoor facility an ideal training location with its spacious fields. Hot Shotz Volleyball club uses PINS as its home site as well. Hot Shotz is lucky to have a facility that hosts such a poorly managed club. This is a volleyball club that hires first year coaches with minimal experience and provides them with NO mentor-ship, education, or training. I paid for one-on-one sessions for my volleyball player with the director. I was rescheduled over and over and still have not received all ten sessions. It has been two years now. This is a great hosting facility site, but do your research on the clubs that provide sessions here.
My daughter went to volleyball camp here and the experience was worthless and a total waste of money. One lazy coach with 15 6-13 year olds. No 1on1 attention or any new skills attained. I felt bad leaving my daughter there each of the 4 mornings but we hoped it would get better each day, it did not. The facility does have nice courts and fields as advertised just no excitement or coaching passion.
Very helpful and friendly, they are moving so I will visit them at the new location.
Where do I begin... The website states that the athletes will get a practice shirt plus the game jersey. After the last game, they demanded the athletes return the jerseys. When called out on what their website says the owners wife said that they have been meaning to change that and the athletes were not allowed to keep them. Although Play it Now Sports is a great place to try multiple different sports, I wouldnt say that it is the best option for an athlete to hone their skills. The cost ($280) was a great rate for what we thought we were getting, only to find out that we werent actually getting what we thought... so this will be a one time expensive / experience and I hope that others have a better experience.
Great for Volleyball and indoor soccer. To play you have to have a team, but well worth the organization of said.
Pins is efficiently run by Staff. You get a lot for your money. Were clubs charge around a hundred dollars a month weither you come or not. There are no dues at Pins, It is easy to invite friends and create teams. At clubs your very limited to richer people.
PINS is a great place to have your children try out multiple sports in an encouraging environment. They have helped my daughter stay in shape during the off-season for multiple sports. You can join various leagues, attend skills camps, try a new sport, host a party, reserve practice space for a team, or play for their club volleyball team, Hot Shotz. We have always appreciated the time taken before and after sports camps and club seasons for individual interaction with our daughter.
Great team experience!
My daughter plays here every once and awhile and the staff is completely rude. They were mean to children and rude to my mrs. The bathrooms are terribly dirty and parts of the walls are covered in duck tape to hold it together. I would not recommend joining a club here.
This place is a dump. They are unorganized and the staff is rude as hell. They cancelled our first practice before we even got started. When the second practice came and I asked why they had two age groups practicing on a tiny court the staff member told me they forgot to setup a second court. When I told her it didn’t seem safe to have so many kids running full speed in such a small area she told me to take an f-ing chill pill and stormed off. Then when I asked the person at the desk for a refund they refused at first and then gave me a partial refund.
Today was the first day I had ever been to this facility but based on my experience with the staff (specifically the lady who was running the front desk), I would not return nor would I recommend signing up for any of their programs or even coming to an event held here. The lady today was extremely rude in a situation that could have been handled by a simple request. Instead she THREATENED to write up ‘my club’ (I’m not even part of a club and was there supporting a friend’s daughter). I can only imagine how actual issues would be handled because it’s definitely not with customer service. Also, as mentioned in previous reviews, their restroom facilities are terrible. You would think the ownership would keep up with better BECAUSE so many people use the facility, as they’ve claimed in their responses to other reviews, but instead they use it as an excuse for the state of their facilities. At the very least they could change the flickering lights and the bathroom locks in the ladies room.Definitely don’t recommend this place and I am definitely not going back.
For what we got, I feel ripped off! The facility is dirty with a VERY leaky roof! There are tarps hanging from the ceiling for crying out loud! The bathrooms are in need of repair and so is a water fountain. The coaches are YOUNG, like in high school. And dont seem to know much at all about coaching. We signed our daughter up for their developmental program for volleyball under the impression she would be taught and developed in the sport. This was not the case, I never saw the coaches go over individual moves for volleyball. It was pretty much a free for all. There was NO communication, no print out of when practices and games were or anything. Also, when we signed up, their website advertises that the players get a warm up t-shirt, spanks, and a jersey TO KEEP. However, on the last night (tonight) the owners wife demanded the jerseys back saying that they had been meaning to change the website. When told that was false advertising, she rudely gave the jerseys back but threatened that if the girls were signed back up there would be a $25 additional charge. When told they would NOT be signed up again she said good!Im so disappointed! This league came recommended by our daughters coach at school to the entire team! I will definitely be informing him of our experiences! We will NEVER go back!
Meh
Love Hot Shots volleyball club. Great training from a great staff
Its good for young kids who want to have fun, but if you want your kids skills to improve I would advise looking elsewhere. There are too many kids for the one coach who is as slow as molasses. After three hour and a half long practices I see no improvement at all. Waste of time and money.
We are going on our 3rd year of our daughter playing volleyball at PINS. From the moment I walked into the facility with my daughter who was 12 at the time, people were so friendly to us. The coaching staff is amazing and the skills my daughter has learned has enabled her to make the varsity team for high school her freshman year. We drive from Pueblo 3-4 times per week for practice and lessons. It is well worth the trip. Chris and Jill have been very friendly and nice to everyone in our family and call us by name and Kevin and Dani are incredible coaches and have the best skilled coaches assisting our girls in their absence. I highly recommend Play It Now Sports for anyone looking for a sport for their child/children and if you are looking for a club volleyball team, I cannot say enough great things about HOT SHOTZ, these players, coaches and parents have become family to all of us!
ZERO stars!! What an awful place to have a tournament! The staff was rude and the place is a wreck. Will be giving the feedback to our team director and hopefully we’ll never have to play there again as I’m sure many parents will complain.
Roof leaks, place is falling apart, and bathrooms are pretty rough, but the classes are awesome. Kids loved Safari soccer and we are very pleased with the staff and coaches.
Great for up to 6th grade for volleyball. Would not recommend for improving skills beyond basics.
Fun for the kids. cold though
Nice facility. Busy with lots of things for people to do of all ages.
Love the staff and facility. Great for more than just the basic learning of the game.
Great coaches and very nice owners!!! My little sister plays volleyball for HotShotz and she has learned SO much from all the coaches! They have taught her SO much and she really loves it here!! Love watching them practice and play!!! We have all become a big family! Look forward for the season to start!!!
My daughter has developed her volleyball skills to a much higher level. After a terrible experience with another volleyball club, the staff at Play it now, took the time to give her back her confidence so that she was able to make another team. Thanks PINS.
Great sports and volleyball programs. Good atmosphere. Needs air conditioning in the summer.
Jill the owner was extremely rude and disrespectful. They change times and dont notify unless you are there (we missed a day as our daughter was sick). They changed the coach halfway through very unorganized and condescending staff we are looking elsewhere.
We joined the HotShotz volleyball program last year after playing in a different club and we are very impressed by the program: 3 practices per week, high level competition on RMR USA volleyball and extra national qualification tournaments. in plus open gyms and conditioning camps. All this at a very reasonable cost for the value provided. Great coaches and assistant coaches. The facility is great and is improving all the time. we have been 100% satisfied!
I enrolled my son for basketball and I was very dissatisfied with the program. They did not teach him anything. They just gave them a ball blow the whistle and go play. They never attemp to teach any skills. Waist of money.
First time signing my kids up for activities, seems like a nice place and reasonable pricing.
What a nice indoor sports place
Great indoor arena for sports
We are starting our second year with Hot Shotz. Our daughter played on the developmental program before learning about the club program. We are very happy with the facility and great coaching! She was on two other local club teams before finding Hot Shotz, through their developmental program. The experience with both the other clubs was very unorganized with no opportunity for extra practice, questionable coaching and limited time at a facility. We are very happy with Hot Shotz! They have great coaching, opportunities to improve skills with ongoing communication and organization -- all with a facility to call home.
Nice spot for a birthday party at the toy store there
My son loved playing dodgeball here.
Great place well kept up
Wonderful place! They are all about your kids.
I was not impressed with Safari soccer. Coaches are eager and willing, but lack vital training in the basics of developmental soccer.Leadership needs to take a more active role in developing their coaches and mentoring new coaches for success.I was chewed out after observing several unsafe practices and asking, quite nicely, if the coach would reinforce safer practices. Many children were playing without even basic safety equipment, i.e. shin guards. The soccer club/league does not follow division guidelines in their age groupings or in following recommended child to coach ratios. There were young two in the same group as four year olds turning five. One of the major reasons for having a governing coalition outlining best practices, is in safeguarding players and new/young coaches from this type of environment.
A place where every activity or sport is played year round! One of a kind facility!
PINS has been a great facility for my daughters to play volleyball. My youngest has been on the developmental for the past two years and has learned so much from her coaches. There is always a chair or room on the bleachers to sit and watch, plus there is extra floor space if you would like to bring your own chair. My older daughter has played at PINS with the club Hot Shotz for four years and has had excellent coaches and experiences. We travel all over the state and I can say PINS is by far the best facility! The Hot Shotz coaches go above and beyond to help my daughter grow in the sport! I would highly recommend Hot Shotz and PINS to anyone wanting to play volleyball!
I love all that it offers! Something for all of my kids.
Sweet indoor sports place. Lots of leagues and kids classes to choose from.
Would give zero stars if I could what a joke really duct tape holding the men’s room together! Staff can’t even keep the place clean after being paid to host the tourney they make the guest vacuum the floor. Guess someone needs to let RMR and USA volleyball how laughable PINS facility has become. Go ahead and close your doors your an absolute joke business.
The staff is great and prices for class are reasonable.
Soccers buddies is so much fun for my son
There tournament we had there was well run. Its a little crowded when they have pools on all four courts.
Great coaches. Building is always freezing though
A great facility & good employes
Very run down and the mens room is held together with duct tape.
Not even close to a play it again sports! Get a new name!
Fr
Terrible and rude customer service on multiple occasions.
Good indoor sports facility
Amazing service
Indoor arenas and leagues for volleyball, soccer, and more
Again, soccer
