Dr Soot would have my highest endorsement. We had them come out an inspect our fireplace and chimney. They were incredibly responsive and helpful. Great company.

We had him out to clean our chimney after getting bad information from someone who tried to get us to spend $1600 on our chimney. He did a wonderful job. Dr Soot and company showed up exactly when they said they would, showed up clean, kept the work area spotless and installed our new wood stove in a timely manner. They were also really kind to talk to and we felt comfortable having them in our home. We had an issue finding anyone to install a wood stove that we purchased elsewhere, but Dr Soot was able to provide this service for us. Definitely recommend!

Personally displeased. They came in and vacuumed the chimney, then charged me $255. I said I felt that was an unfair price for 20 minutes of work. They claimed it was a fair price because they did a video scan. The two men then left the house without saying they were finished or making any professional comments. I called the company and they reduced the price to $100. I definitely will not use them again....After seeing the response by the company, I wanted to edit. They said they have returned my $100 check, and though I have not received it, I can say it was never cashed. This was very nice of them, and I appreciate it. Their response to my concerns has been well received and very professional.

We purchased a fireplace insert and had it installed. We love the stove. It six efficient, well designed and attractive. The stove was delayed from the factory, and it came with a malfunctioning fan switch. At each step along the way to resolving these issues, Dr. Soot was responsive, timely and professional. We recommend Dr. Soot without reservation.

Very friendly and professional, and they stand by their work. They showed us exactly what they’d done to clean the wood stove and clear the flue, and in the process they demonstrated the importance of getting the flue cleaned every year. Will definitely use them from now on.

Their communication was lacking a little. I tried contacting them twice about getting a cleaning for the end of March, they then got back to me this morning asking if a cleaning would be OK on March 5th. I had not had the chance to respond yet and three hours after they sent that message to me they just showed up at our house saying we had a scheduled appointment. So we just let them do it. The cleaning was fine and the report was fine. I just wish they had a better system/customer service for scheduling.

They came by and did a great job cleaning the fireplace and chimney. Also the were very clean and didnt make any sort of mess. I will call them again for fireplace and chimney cleaning for sure!

Update - Martha returned the check I wrote for the chimney cleaning. I appreciate that, but I would like to pay for the service they did perform.I scheduled this appointment with Martha weeks ago. The #1 reason for this appointment was to have the chimney cap repaired/replaced, and since they were going to be at the house anyway, I decided to have the chimney cleaned. The young man came out today and cleaned the chimney from the bottom, not from the top - he never set foot on the roof. When I asked him about the chimney cap, he said he couldnt get on the roof because he needs a second person to hold the ladder. When I called and made the appointment with Martha, I told her it was a high two story house and the neighborhood it was in - she said they are familiar with the neighborhood and it would be no problem. So the #1 reason for this appointment was NOT fulfilled and I was/am furious. I fully admit I used an expletive with Martha on the phone - she asked me what I wanted done, I told her I wanted the chimney cap fixed, she said theyd have to order the part and come back out and suggested I go to another company - thats when I used the expletive. She WAS NOT HELPFUL and shes supposedly the owner. I was very clear about everything during the initial call to set up the appointment and had no reason to believe the cap would not be repaired/replaced during this appointment. I paid the $209 for the cleaning since I assume the chimney was cleaned properly. I have spoken with other chimney sweep companies and have been told Dr Soot doesnt get on the roof and thats why they clean from the bottom. So now I have the pleasure of paying another company to come out and look at the chimney cap - but every company I have spoken with has told me their people will get on the roof to look at the cap, not just evaluate it from the ground. Find another company who will be honest with you when you make the appointment, because that is not true for Dr Soot.

They did a great job installing my high efficiency wood burning fireplace. Lou handled all my questions and concerns immediately. Great customer communications. Would recommend to anyone.

I recently purchased a house from the 70s and I was unsure of the condition of the fireplace. Dr. Soot came by and let me know my chimney was in fantastic condition! I was quoted $250, but he only charged me for the check which was much simpler than hoped for, so I had piece of mind for much less! I had Dr. Soot come by to clean my dryer vent. I had no idea where the dryer vent goes, but they figured it out, cleaned it out and then explained to me what was in there and what they had done. Apparently, it was pretty dirty and I feel much better knowing my dryer isnt going to set my house on fire.I didnt have to clean up the floor or anything after they left, which was great!

Dr. Soot does the right job at the right time with little direction on your part. He is patient and works with companion crafts persons to made sure that his and their work is intertwined as it should be. He is reasonably priced and I will trust him to my most difficult projects in a home that is over 60 years old!

I used Dr-Soot chimney sweep to clean our wood burning fireplace. They show up on time did a fast and through job, I expected to have ash to clean up, BUT they did all the clean up and left the fireplace looking like new. I would highly recommend them. I found out after the fact that they are a member of the chimney sweep guild and are real proffessionals not just some guy with a brush!
