The roof failed from improper installation of the first row of shingles on top of the starter strip. The edges line up perfectly allowing water to go underneath destroying the plywood. This failure occurs along 2 sides of my house, but is correct in the front of the house, the 3rd side with gutters. I called to ask about the warranty for workmanship, it is only good for 5 years. Its been longer than that, so now Im out a roof, shingles that need pulled off, plywood that needs replaced, and fascia board that is most likely toast. All because roofing 101 wasnt done correctly. When I called about warranty work the nice lady on the phone said my address wasnt listed as a customer. Must be the standard reply, lol. Then she said she would send someone out to take a look at it. I said, you didnt do it right the first time. Why would I pay you a second time? My roof was never completed the way I asked and never looked as good as my neighbors (to this day, I still have shingles that stick up funny). So this really doesnt surprise me to much. Cant recommend these guys.Edit: You say you dont understand how it failed. I clearly stated how it failed. Your workers didnt stager the first row of shingles (With the starter row) allowing water to penetrate just above the gutters. After years of water attacking the roofing paper, it failed allowing water onto the plywood. I did look up the permit, and yes your company pulled the permit. I wouldnt expect the inspector to pull the roof apart to see if the starter row is correct. Anyone who does roofing for a living should know to stager the first row. Thats what a starter row is for. Even I know that. The warranty paperwork you provided is for the shingles, not improper installation. Theres nothing wrong with the shingles. Im not calling, we both know your not going to fix my roof for free and I wouldnt let you on my property anyway. Proper supervision would have prevented this. Thats your responsibility, own it.

After a month of trying to have a roof repair accomplished, I had to move on from this company.

I worked with Jon White on two different projects. The jobs were done perfectly both times. He installed beautiful new 6 inch sturdy gutters on my cabin and installed ice dams on my entire metal roof. He left no trace on my property and it’s obvious his work will last for many years to come. Communication skills were excellent. Ask for Jon White when you want the job done right!

I was the victim of a roofing scam by another contractor and due to their participation and cooperation he has been arrested, charged and awaiting sentencing, and restitution for myself and many other of his victims . Total replaced the roof on our house and barn. Good job, straight lines, good material. They had to come back a couple of times because I lost a few shingles because of wind. They came right out and fix them at no charge. I feel they are a good fair Company to deal with.

THE USAA insurance coverage timed out. Some recorded damage was not repaired. Carpet, some detailed/trip painting were the main work items not complete.

Updated review. Cory the project lead was clueless. Crew arrived late both days they were here. First day excuse was frost but house directly behind me was being done so. After 2 missed days of our gutter crew not showing up, and getting a response from Cory of ( they are not there?) We decided to have them done elsewhere. Allot of confusion on the work being done, but as far as we can tell all work was done well.

We had a leak after a huge storm. Tony ad Lee came out to diagnose it. They were polite and professional and sealed a problem spot on our roof at no charge. Because they didn’t see any other concerns on the roof they recommend a service that would help us find the leak if we have problems in the future. This was after another service gave us a 2k quote to fix our roof and down spouts. It was a relief to have them honestly tell us that our roof looked good, fix the one questionable spot, and not try to get thousands of dollars from us. If we ever do have major roofing issues we will be calling them back.

Wow... Cant remember the last time I had such a good experience with a contractor.I was in the process of closing on my house, and some potential roof damage came up on the inspection report. I spoke with Lee and asked if he could get out quickly and give me an estimate on a repair job. He came out the next day (during holiday season), inspected the roof, and said it was normal wear and tear and didnt need a repair... Furthermore he offered to write me a certificate detailing the condition of the roof free of charge. I got the certificate from Tony a couple hours later.Im pretty confident most roofers would have tried to replace my entire roof or at least charge me for the visit. I really appreciate this companys honesty and would go straight to them if I had any other roofing issues.Thank you guys, you really helped my closing process go smoothly!

My mother was selling her rental home in Florence and needed the roof replaced quickly. Total Roofing completed the job in one day, did a great job, and left the site spotless. We truly appreciate the quick turn around and professional job Total Roofing did for our family!

An inspector found that our roof had a significant amount of granular loss and Total Roofing came out to take a look to see what needed to be done. The roofer informed me that we didn’t have any hail damage but that the shingles had a defect and that is why we were losing so much of the coating on the shingles. He informed me that we would need to make a claim with the manufacturer and that the manufacturer would provide vouchers for the labor and JUST the shingles, NOT for the extra materials (felt etc under the shingles) and that we would have to spend money out of pocket to fix the roof. When I asked what we were looking at, I didn’t get an answer. It didn’t make sense to me that we would have to pay out of pocket for other materials especially when it’s the manufacturer’s fault. I decided to call another roofing company to get a quote and boy am I happy I did! They informed me that the manufacturer does include enough in the vouchers to cover ALL materials and labor and that there will be no extra charge to us. I’m not sure if this company is misinformed with how the process works or is just taking advantage of customers by saying that the manufacturer will not cover extra material cost. Needless to say, we are going with the other company who will not be charging us extra.

UPDATE...... they came by to do my roof as well and actually did a very good job cleaning my yard after quickly finishing the job. I would just say to be more aware of neighbors who are closely spaced when roofing in the future, not just the house you are working on. Thanks for doing a good job on my house.

I was late to get insurance repairs done on my rental house. I had one year to complete the repairs and I was down to the last 30 days before I started to looking for a contractor. After seeing some ads I contacted Total Roofing. I was really expecting them to tell me I had to wait since there are so many houses with hail damage in the Colorado Springs area. The Total Roofing foreman I talked to check their schedule and said he could meet my deadline. I was a little skeptical, but since I didnt really have much choice, I agree to go with Total Roofing. I was pleasantly surprised when the job got done exactly as I was told. Note that the work was more than just roofing. It included paint, screens, and the mail box. The work was very professionally done and ahead of my insurance deadline. The Total Roofing foreman was very good about keeping on contact and making sure I was informed about the progress. Im very happy with the work and service I got from Total Roofing and can whole heartily recommend them for any roofing and/or repair project. Thanks Total Roofing.

I think I was the only one who used Total Roofing on my street. I dont know why that is. These guys got here st 7am and were done, cleaned up, and leaving by 3pm. The neighbors hired different companies. Some had tiles on the roof for over a month and they came back 2, sometimes 3 times to finish the job. The neighbors had to park down the street because they had no space in the driveway. I know Ill be using Total Roofing again. Ill even tell all my friends.

Total Roofing came out after we felt we were being ripped off by Divine Roofing attempting to charge us 750 for MINOR repairs and a roof certification. Total Roofing responded extremely quickly, came out and thoroughly inspected outside and inside of our roof and were able to give us a complimentary five year roof inspection. Use these awesome guys if you need a roof certification!

My husband and I left a 1 star review due to many problems that we experienced through Total Roofing towards an uncompleted job. The company sent out their inspector and had to fix a couple things before our roof could pass inspection. The inspector mentioned that he had heard around the office that a negative review had been left about our experience with Total Roofing. He mentioned that he had been asked if we could change our negative review, or at least improve it because of his service. I told him that even though his service was great, the overall service from the company would not change our review. Since then, my husband has been receiving countless e-mails from Total Roofing asking us to change our review or to give a better review. Today, May 1, we received a Thank You card in the mail from the President/CEO of Total Roofing, who has yet to return a phone call. Phone calls have been ignored by him and Adam, the Vice President. Thank you for what? For a horrible experience through Total Roofing? If you would like us to change our review, return a phone call, which should have been done in the first place. Dont speak and use your employees to try and fix a problem that he wasnt involved in.

Total Roofing- A company that considers a poor job as done and I mean forgot to repair the siding on one SIDE of the house. And when called to finish the job and get it right, the company has not responded in 6 months. Is that the company you want to use?We bought a house, but we couldnt move in until the owner had fixed the siding. Total Roofing was contracted to fix the siding. It took them 6 weeks to finally finish it and we moved in. When my husband was able to moved around a little better ( he had a fracture on his leg), he discovered that 1 side of the house still had a lot of hail damage. We called Total Roofing and the same thing happened to us as to others, Adam, the project manager would say a date when the people would be here to finish it or the secretary would give us the number of the person that is supposed to come out, but no one shows up. They also say that they will call us back but they dont. How long does it take to repair a job done very poorly?According to Total Roofing the siding of my house was completely repaired a little over 6 months ago, except that they missed the siding on one side of the house. It has been 6 months and despite our many calls, they still have not fixed the siding of that wall. Our house is on Campground Dr. so unfortunately we are real clients

I originally had total roofing at 5 stars as my original experience was great with them. However 3 years after having my roof installed I found 2 leaks which would be covered by the warranty. It has been like pulling teeth to get any communication at what is going on. Have had multiple appointments some of which they didnt show up for and I received no phone call to reschedule. Have been promised phone calls back which I have not received. Overall a very bad experience. After 3 weeks of dealing with them I still have no answer as to when it will be fixed. I will continue to update this post as I have more dealings with total roofing.Update- 3 stars from 1. Adam one of the VPs of total roofing came out with another person to figure out what was going on with my leak. They repaired where they think the leaks are. And made plans around getting the drywall fixed that had been damaged from the leak. Adam and the other gentleman (cant remember his name) where what I was expecting from my first dealings when they installed the roof, professional, thorough and made sure to communicate with me what was happening. I will update again when the drywall repair has been done. If only that had happened for the first 3 weeks of dealing with the issue.

We highly recommend Total Roofing. Shane was incredibly knowledgeable, and worked really hard to get our Insurance to pay to get everything done right. After having a really bad experience with another contractor, Shane was a fresh of breath air. It did take a few months of back and forth with the insurance, but Shane got it taken care of just like he said he would. He really was a straight shooter. Honest, hardworking, and knowledgeable people are hard to come by anymore. We had no idea what we were doing since this was our first time dealing with a insurance claim. It really opened our eyes on how insurance companies try to get out of paying. Our insurance company really wasn’t ON OUR SIDE. We made a HUGE mistake not going with Total right away... we are all about keeping our money local especially after this last experience.

If I could have given zero stars I would have. They dont care about their customers. They failed roof inspection 3 months after the roof was put on for something that was supposed to be fixed 3 days after roof was put on. They leave piles and I mean PILES of nails all over the yard. They hired a gutter and downspout company that left sharp circle cutouts from the gutters that could have cut my kids feet. They hired a siding and window company that sided the wrong side of my house. Then they forbid you to talk to anyone when you ask for documentation on work that was never done. Would not recommend them to anyone not even my worst enemy!

If I could leave zero stars I would. Unfortunately, we decided to use Total Roofing to complete an insurance claim for hail damage last year. From the onset, there was poor communication, delays and wrong information. The crews cleanup was horrendous and we were finding nails and debris all over our backyard for several days. The gutter company they used came out and installed white gutters, even though we had chosen brown ones, and it was almost a full month before they were able to remedy the situation and install the correct gutters.Added to all of that, our roof then FAILED INSPECTION because it was missing crucial flashing where the garage roof meets the house. This inspection was in May, and Total Roofing never notified us that the roofing inspection had failed and they needed to come out and make repairs for it to pass inspection! It is July now, and it was by a stroke of luck I got on the Pikes Peak Building Departments website and saw the permit for our roof was still open and had failed inspection. WE HAD TO CONTACT THEM about it, and they were clueless about what was going on. When my husband called to ask about the failed inspection, we were told they would contact us to schedule the repairs.This is the kind of shoddy service and work that gets a contractors license pulled, and rightfully so. When you hire a professional you expect them to know what they are doing, and do it correctly. This has certainly not been our experience with Total Roofing.Only use Total Roofing if you want hours of frustration, incompetent work and a complete lack of communication; all to end up 6 months later with a roof that still isnt complete.

I like these guys. I work with subcontractors all day and Total Roofing is at the top of my list. We had an insurance reroof in Pueblo West from the storm last year. Estimating was accurate, the tear off and install went well and though we didnt need any follow up work I called them about adding a roof vent for a range hood and they helped me with that. They get a 5 star from me.

Total Roofing did a complete restoration on my house after last summer devastating hail storms. Joe Roy worked very closely with me in every step of the way. Was responsive, courteous, respectful, knowledgeable, and ultimately patient; answering any and all questions. Even though the company was EXTREMELY busy due to the storms I never felt as though I was forgotten. Joe Roy and his team took great care of us.

This was the first roof I have had replaced. I was concerned about the mess it might make and how long it would take. The materials were delivered one day. The workers showed up the next day and completed the installation and cleanup. I was surprised how efficient they were. My roof looks great!

The roof was replaced in 2017. In 2019 after hail storm the roof needed replacement. To my surprise I incurred in additional expenses because of the old protective barrier for the roof was never removed. And on top of that the new skylight base was leaking into my home. Im sure the roofer would have seen the damage had they removed the old barrier around the skylight. I never thought I would be able to say thank goodness for that hailstorm, if not the water damage would have been much severe. I wish I could attach the picture of the damage. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else 👍

We scheduled a meeting to have an estimate. They did not bother to show up or call for the meeting so we rescheduled for the next day and the same never bothered to show or call. Doesnt seem to be a reliable company.

We used Total Roofing for a small, 6x6 repair. They did a thorough job with our old ceramic tiles, and there have been no leaks. They also checked our roof for any storm damage without charge. We will use them again in the future.

I am finally writing a review after I have calmed down a bit, a year later. I will say that in the end I was able to get total roofing to remove the items off of my bill to where I was finally able to move forward; however, I am still dealing with their lack of service and having their work fixed. I want to make sure that others understand what they may be up against.My home was damaged last summer in the hail storm. Adam was my original project manager and was awesome when talking me into going with them for all of my home repairs (roof, paint, windows). As soon as I signed the contract, service and communication fell off completely with Adam. He was not responsive and I had to do all of the follow up and communication. I ended up asking for a new project manager and then that didnt work out either.My shed roof was never done, still to this day. They didnt do anything with the windows like they promised. They hired a subcontractor to paint my home and did a horrible job. Adam came out and agreed it was a bad job and had them come out to fix it. I came home the day they were fixing it and they literally had CHILDREN, one no more than 13 yrs old, working on my house. The daughter had to communicate with me because the only adult could not speak English. Obviously, it again was a horrible job as well. The painters did such a horrible job that I have to get it repainted and new boards on the house because they didnt prep properly and now the boards cant be fixed without brand new boards.I would call the office asking to talk to Scott since he responds on here to bad reviews, but they always sent me to Adam, knowing he was a huge part of the problem. I finally had to do all the general contracting and deal with everyone myself. Their lack of communication was astonishing. The amount of personal time off work I had to take in order to deal with all of the issues was crazy!I cant even go through all of the problems or I would be writing a novel, so please save yourself the hassle and contract with someone else.

I wasnt going to give 1star feedback with Total Roofing until today. Tony installed my roof two years ago. Prior to that the roof was 17 yrs old before total roofing replaced it. Few months back after Total Roofing install our roof, the laundry area was leaking and they have to come twice because they cant figure out where the leaked from. Yesterday, we had hail storm and our living room was leaking. I dont understand why, they just replaced it 2 yrs ago. Our neighbor replaced their roof with other company 5 yrs ago did not leak. I will never used or recommend total roofing to anyone. They did not meet my expectation.

We called for an inspection and Lee and another gentleman (sorry I cannot remember his name) showed up on time and were professional, quick and knowledgeable. They notice in one place ( a tile) had blown off and did a quick fix on that piece. Turns out our roof is good and they said so. I will definitely keep this company in mind if I ever need roof work.

Sourced right here in Colorado to support local business. Dropped our homeowners insurance significantly as the stuff is pretty much indestructible even in the most extreme Centennial State hailstorm.Two other Springs roofing companies, who shall remain nameless, were relentless in their attempts to badger about only using asphalt roofing despite rigorous research into the pros and cons of composite shake. They did not get the business and Total Roofing were great in every aspect, including working with payments over time, attention to detail, and treating the paying customer with some modicum of respect. Shocker.Would highly recommend Total Roofing for any job, large or small. No high pressure sales or condescension noted in our experience at all. They were great !

Over a decade ago, Total Roofing did my houses roof and all was done well, then I foolishly went with another company a few yrs ago and had some issues but eventually got it worked out. I called Matt at Total Roofing last week to see if my roof needed repair/replacement after the horrible wind we had last months. Matt came out the other day and checked my roof, he said all was fine now and I didnt need any repair or replacement. Very shady. Don’t trust Total Roofing. Never cleaned up all of their trash & debris. Continually tried to get more money out my insurance company. Tried to get over $18,000.00 for a basic roof replacement only worth about $9,000.00. When we finally put a stop to their attempts to gouge the insurance company, they told us they had a right to ALL the money the insurance company was willing to pay even if there were other damages besides the roof included in the insurance adjusters estimate. I will never use or recommend them again!

The reroofing job was completed in a single day. The crew was hardworking, professional and performed a thorough cleanup after the job was done. The gutter installation the following week was accomplished in a couple of hours and seemed to be OK, however the gutters are leaking at some of the joints. The item was pointed out and I was told that someone would be back to seal the leaking joints, but that has not happened.

Dont use these crooks...JUST DO NOT! TERRIBLE, will not complete the job. Wont return calls, price was much higher than their estimate. I had to hire an Attorney just to get them to finish the job! They suck all around. I called them for a new leak this year, no warranty. DONT CALL THEM!

I dont know much about these guys and gals like most of you, and Im sure they do a great job. They have not done anything good for me. I have tried countless times to have them come out to look at my roof to fix it and no one ever came. I kept calling time and time again and could not reach anyone. The worst part is they were referred by someone but they did not live up to their title.

Had my roof replaced by TR from 2016 summer storm. Winter 2017 we had some leaking in our master bathroom, TR came and looked inside but couldn’t find the problem. Had another leak reported by our tenants dec of 2018 so we were assuming it was the snow melting from the top. Had contacted my original PM, Jason Pankhurst multiple times to no avail. Kept having to contact the front office multiple times to get in touch with Jason. Finally after several calls, they reassigned to a new PM. Justin was awesome and found the problem after climbing on top of the roof. He said he wanted to get it fixed before Christmas, which sounded great. Now we’re in January, and haven’t heard from him since. Called the office a few times. Talked to some nice/helpful ones, and one not so nice/helpful one (Tiffany). On top of that, my tenant just reported another leak on the other side of the house. I guess warranty work isn’t their top priority . Not sure why USAA refers them.

We will NEVER use another roofing company. Total Roofing replaced the roof on one of our rental homes quickly and at a good price. When we decided to sell another rental home, a hail storm occurred right when the home went under contract. Total Roofing came out, got us on the schedule and got the new roof on, the vents all repaired or replaced, and did the gutters and downspouts. We then had to have the electrical panel upgraded after the roof was done, and the electrician needed to move the service box which left a vent on the roof with a duct taped top where the old service was. I placed a call back to Total Roofing and told them about our mistake - fully expecting to have to pay for a roof repair - they made arrangements immediately to come back out and fix the duct taped vent in days (at no charge!!) so we could still make our closing date. TRULY above and beyond service.

I used Total Roofing fir 2 roofs in 2018(damn hail). They were excellent everytime coming out to do the estimate, get the work done, and then come and check the repairs. They literally installed a new roof the day before we moved out of our old house.Fast forward to the bomb cyclone in 2019. Omg. I thought our house was gonna blow away. I called our project manager from the last time,Tony, and he put me on the schedule to come out and inspect it. Came out and gave my roof an A rating.I really like the company, and I really like the staff. Will continue to use these guys

We have used Total Roofing several times now and have been pleased with each job. Their team of installers is very thorough and clean up after themselves, nary a mess or nail to be found.

I am satisfied with the finished product....took a second trip out to repair damage done by the March storm....but looks really good ..appreciate the hard work done by the single repair guy sent out...worked his butt off to fix it

Overall very pleased with my roof replacement, painting and cleanup. I was promised the job would be done for the amount of my insurance claim and when I got my final bill it was over that amount, but Nate Scheer was able to straighten it out very quickly. I would recommend Total Roofing to my friends and family.

I still can not get my project manager to fill out a simple form for my insurance. The last company filled it out and gave it back within an hour and this company has had it over a month. Makes me wonder why he wont do it. Is the job they did on my roof not credible?

I had no problems when they did my roof. Did a good job and cleaned up pretty good.

From day one, meeting with Nate, he assured us of what was needed and an anticipated timeframe. He also helped us not only get our roof and gutters replaced, he informed us that Total Roofing is just that “Total” Due to the hail damage to the siding and paint, he got us set up with work to repair some soffit and trim boards as well as some paint.The roofing crew was outstanding and very polite and very efficient. I was amazed how early they arrived and how late they stayed.From tear down to cleanup, this job went so very well. Thanks to Nate and the crew.Total invoice my insurance and helped assure quick completion and settlement of our insurance claim.Again, thanks to all who worked on our home. This company has been a pleasure to work with they kept us well informed during the entire process, they were clean and courteous, Nate has been our site foreman and has been awesome to work with and even after the job was completed a few small issues have arisen and as soon as they were brought to their attention they were courteous and timely to rectify the problem.They were right on mark Price wise and stuck to their pricing and did not tack on hidden fees as I have had to deal with in previous contractors. Had them come out last week to look at a tile that had blown off during recent storm. Salesperson said that they would be out Friday morning before the next rain. Its now Tuesday and they still havent been out for the repair. Called the both Monday and Tuesday to find out what the problem is. No call back and no repair. Told them today to forget it.

Highly recommended by a good friend of mine, and now is my turn to recommend Total Roofing for an Excellent work done, super satisfied customer.

Not a single roofing company charges $400 for roof inspections... THEY ARE ALL FREE!!! and your all over tv commercials making people think your so great charging nothing. Give me a break! Your as fake as CNN

A horrible experience. Shane was totally unreliable. Made promises and never followed through. Complained to the owners and nothing was corrected. They told us that because we had problems with total roofing, that they prefer not to do business with us. Totally disappointed, especially since Dave Ramsey endorses this company. In closing, Total Roofing Colorado Springs is just another Roofing Company who has bad service and is after your money. They lie about products available. They also lie about when they are able to do your roof. I wouldt recommend Total Roofing.

Total Roofing re-roofed our house and had our gutters replaced after the 2016 hail storms. Another roofing company wouldnt do the work in the timeframe we wanted and Total was able to get it done well in advance of the other company. The only problem we had was with the gutters. The gutters were leaking in several locations and since the gutters were sub-contracted out we had to wait. After several calls to Total Roofing they finally came back and hopefully fixed the gutter leaks.

**Update 29 Apr 19** Have to say i dont think i have ever been as impressed with a companys response to a complaint. The owner called me and explained the situation with all of the hail damage that occurred in town and promised to make it right. Fixed my warranty repairs immediately and even fixed several other badly damaged areas free of charge. If any other roofing companies are reading this review, this is what customer service should look like.Will 100% call them again.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you dont have major hail damage. They wont even give you a call back for a quote. Had total roofing recommend by my insurance company a few years ago to fix some roof leaks. Ive had to have them out three more times to patch the same locations but the leaks kept coming back (but significantly smaller each trip.) This summer i had them out to look at an area and a couple of other repairs. Justin Redwine came out to look at the roof and said he would get me a quote in a few days...waited a week no quote. So i called the office, same story “well get you a quote tomorrow”....nothing. Waited a MONTH!...nothing. I called the office one last time and was assured i would at least have a quote by that evening....nothing and its been another two weeks. If they ever give me a call back ill update the review if they actually fix the leak this time. This company obviously has no concern for their customers if they cant make big dollars from the repair.

We were completely satisfied in all respects with Total Roofing and if that service was needed again they would be called.

Everyone involved was professional and answered all of my many questions. They did a great job and I would recommend them.

I hired Total Roofing of Colorado Springs to replace my porch roof and they did an awesome job and what impressed me the most was the project manager Stephen Thoemmes, he went out of his way to make sure I was 100 percent happy with the work that was done !!!

My project manager was clueless throughout the entire process. Everything was unorganized and very confusing. I received several invoices, all with different figures. At the end of the day I was over charged $900 which thankfully I was able to catch by going over my invoices in detail. Worst of all when I went to sell my house the roof didnt even pass the inspection as there was some flashing missing and a gutter misplaces! Called Total Roofing and there response was it passed the city inspection. So much for there workmanship warranty. I will gladly pay someone else to fix their crap then to even deal with Total Roofing anymore. Horrible company. Will never reccomend to anyone!

Horrible experience including an unsafe decking repair that almost sent me through the roof. They hire random roofing crews and dont manage them. The first crew did such a poor job that Total Roofing had to have their Complex Roof Crew come fix it. They reworked 40% of the roof. Their Project Managers (Sales) are great until you sign then they disappear. Total bait and switch.

Great company to deal with It took some time to get everything done because of how busy they are but everything came out great and I am very pleased...
