So glad we gave these folks another chance. We had to go from here during the Pandemic lockdowns where the only option was to go meals and we were not impressed. Fast forward to September 2021 and we gave them another try and we had the Gumbo fries, wife had Shrimp and Grits, which unlike months ago was prepared perfectly complete with beautiful presentation and was delicious. I had Red Beans and Rice with Hush Puppies and Fried Shrimp and the breading on the Hush Puppies and Shrimp was scrumptious, also complete with excellent presentation. What great atmosphere and service by Cooper. We had a great time with some delicious Creole Food? Great job yall and thanks..
Great place for couples dinner. Eat inside, out front or outside patio. Had reservations for 7pm on a Friday night. Great food (seasoned)! Glass of wine was pricy for average brands. Appeared to under staffed but service was very friendly. Good music but a lot of loud talking from a full house. Really miss the piano player!!
Really great food and good service! This place is really good and we come here every year. The food, drinks and atmosphere are all quite enjoyable. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely incredible! The shrimp in all dishes is so delicious. Was the first time I had creole and it was 20 bucks well spent. The calamari was hands down the best Ive ever had. The ranch was also incredible. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food!
Drinks:Hurricane- pretty goodGinger apple spice- not good tasted like soapCalamari- very good, sauce isn’t bad. Liked the breading, has a little spiceFried Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries- pretty goodFriend shrimp entree with mashed garlic potatoes- okay but not worth the priceOverall not worth the price.
I cannot speak highly enough about this place! Last weekend was only my second time here, and the experience I received the first time was definitely repeated! We had the etoufee fries, shrimp and grits, and blackened fish meals. Amazing. Drinks were delicious and not lacking in the liquor department! Service was wonderful and friendly. I’m so happy that they made it through a hellacious year and are still this strong! Will be back for sure!
Springs Orleans was a great experience. I have never had Cajun/Creole until coming here. They offered a great atmosphere and aesthetic. They have a wide selection of beers, wine, and some liquor.I tried the Chili Fries as an appetizer and ordered the Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee as an entrée and it neither disappointed. The service was also very good as well. The members of staff were respectful and polite. Thanks Springs Orleans- we will be back!
First time here. My husband and I came for happy hour and had dinner. We ordered the shrimp and grits along with the blackened chicken entree. Our appetizer was the catfish bites and a side order of 1/2 order of oysters... DELICIOSO!!! My husband is from Florida and he ordered the shrimp and grits. I am not a fan of grits, but I must say I was impressed. My blackened chicken was amazing along with my voodoo rice. The oysters were SO LARGE. It took me several bites to eat my oysters, I was sooooo happy and impressed not only with the food but the service was AWESOME. Megan E. Was so informative and knowledgeable regarding the cuisine she was PHENOMENAL. DEFINITELY MAKING THIS A DATE NIGHT SPOT (thanks to Megan E.) Totally recommend this place, even if its not for the dinner, but the drinks by Tabia are unforgettable.
Great place. Fun NOLA atmosphere. Very friendly service. We needed it after a bad experience at Streetcar 520!Food was delicious!! Staff was very friendly. We will visit there again and recommend all of our friends.
Food was not as good as expected. The atmosphere and staff were nice though. It was comfortable and all the staff we encountered were very professional.
We had a little weekend getaway and stayed at the Wyndham Grand next door and stumbled upon this absolutely great cajun restaurant! We got seated immediately and sat upstairs on the loft which was a very relaxing atmosphere. We felt like VIP. The cocktails were phenomenal. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and had an awesome presentation! We have nothing but good things to say. All around great experience! The food was quick to come out and we were both blown away by the flavors of the catfish. My husband got fried and I got blackened - it was sooo good!! Best cajun hands down!
The staff were amazing!! Super friendly, quick and easy service, and best of all the food tasted Exemplary. The food tasted like it just melted in your mouth, plus I got a lot of compliments on my nice dress I wore on my 21st birthday! I would highly recommend this place to everyone of my friends.
Very nice clean place. Great food, drinks and desert. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Last time I was here, staff seated us under flickering lights and got my order completely wrong. I did not send it back because the staff seemed busy and what I was given wasn’t too objectionable.Sometimes reservations are required even if they don’t seemed busy. I guess they’ve had issues with people making reservations but then not having tables ready in the past? Looks like they are still seeking that sweet spot of knowing when to hold a table or to seat a walk-in. Hint: hold tables you can’t see well from the door. Or, just take the money you know is right in front of you.If they are going for a more fancy experience, their menu needs to improve. The food is good compared to similar food in the area, but the effort and cost isn’t quit worth it as things stand (they are so close). I might go back sometime because my friends enjoy Cajun food and there aren’t many options for that around here. I’ll change my rating if things improve.
We went on a slow Weds and it was pretty good. Étouffé was delicious and perfectly spiced. The place could probably use an update though to compete with the new restaurants in town - ambience was very much lacking.
We had a birthday dinner here with 9 people. The food was ok, but the waiter, although nice, got 3 orders wrong. The service was also exceptionally slow. The waiters are also apparently not allowed to split up the orders to separate checks? Which I think is odd since many parties of people do that quite often.
Disappointing experience. We tried to eat here on a Wednesday in June. We didnt have reservations, but that didnt seem like a big deal as the place wasnt especially busy. The hostess even said that was okay and asked us to give her a moment to get a table ready. Several minutes later she reappeared and basically said they couldnt handle our party of 3. Keep in mind the restaurant was maybe at 30% capacity, but, apparently, they were too short-staffed to even handle that 30%.Im the customer. Their staffing problems are theirs. I dont want to hear about them. Hospitality Management 101: Customers dont want to hear excuses. If they create an environment (pay + benefits + culture) where people WANT to work then they wont have these issues. Dont blame the pandemic. Dont blame unemployment compensation. If they want answers to their staffing problems, then they just need to look in the mirror and reflect back on how theyve treated staff over the years and how measly theyve compensated them. Theres a reason restaurant work is generally considered horrible. If they fix that problem theyll fix their staffing problem. We did go over to the lobby bar at The Mining Exchange hotel next door where you can order off the Springs Orleans menu. Dara, the bartender, was awesome. Food was good. Not great, but good. Dara is the reason theyre getting 2 stars instead of 1 star.
Their menu was a bit limited due to shortages through our the whole industry right now with COVID, but our server was excellent and food was delicious!
Dont get the gumbo. Slight tummy ache this morning that lasted all day. The catfish was not catfish, probably swai or tilapia. Nobody ate the shrimp or grits. The management answered this review promptly with the same old Im sorry routine. To the management: stop being sorry and start selling quality food and I wouldnt have to write this bad review.
Food was ok. Not bad at all, not amazing. Solid 3 stars. We came very hungry, first day in Colorado Springs after our flight. We came out full and the food was satisfying, but nothing was truly delicious. Grits weren’t flavorful, pretty bland (had much better in food trucks..), gumbo was good but over salty. The desert was huge but they were over cooked and not fluffy enough. Fries were really good. Just right.
The food was not seasoned like made from scratch Cajun Creole dishes its either bland or too much cayenne pepper. Beautiful decor and Upscale prices. Im a Native New Orleanian and its very disappointing when its poor representation of our food, its part of our culture. They were out of more than half the items on the menu including tea and lemonade. If you are expecting authentic Cajun Creole taste this is NOT the place!
Im a Native Orleanian and the Atmosphere was Great. However the Gumbo was not up to par( little to no meat and extremely dark and thick gravy. Gumbo actually tasted like rue. The Catfish nuggets were Bland - no Cajun Seasoning and they came out dark which probably means oil was not fresh. Jambalaya was tasty however it was not Fresh either. Overall Service was Poor. They are Short staffed and wait staff to manager seem Overwhelmed. I felt Sorry for them. Several people came and because of the long wait once they were seated, they left. If something doesnt change they will loose a lot of Business . It is such a Beautiful place in such a Prime location. But Service, Quality of Food and Overall Experience will Undoubtedly Cause loss of Repeat Customers. This was my Second time Eating here. First time we just had Beignets and Coffee and Service was horrible. There were only a few customers there so I didnt understand. So I dont plan on Returning unless they have Major changes.
The staff seemed so genuinely happy to be working there and were very attentive. I took the bartenders advice and got the shrimp etouffee and loved it. Highly recommend trying this place.
I really wanted to like this place, and Im very sensitive to the fact that the pandemic has been especially hard on the restaurant industry- but our food was overcooked to the point if being inedible. Our waiter was super friendly at least, but dropping $50 bucks on desicated go-to-the-freezer-get-the-box shrimp hurt my soul. Still tipped well, not the waiters fault and all.
Had lunch there and it was yummy. I had a Juniper Flower to drink and a veggie burger. Food was delicious! I especially loved the truffle fries. There was only one waitress in there so service was a touch slow but she was super nice the entire time.
Awesome food and excellent service Tim our server/bartender went above and beyond to make our experience thoroughly enjoyable. My wife and I havent been to New Orleans but we love to eat out a lot and these dishes had great flavor.
The food was surprisingly good. Salad was fresh. Blackened shrimp was delicious. Broccolini was a nice touch. The patio space was nice, but the decor could use an update. Staff seemed overwhelmed early on a Saturday.
Catfish is one of my favorite foods and this was easily the best fried catfish filet I’ve ever had. The mashed potatoes pair perfectly with it. The calamari appetizer was perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was wonderful. Sat at a bar for the first time since the pandemic started and it was heaven. We came to the Spring for a comedy show but will make the trek from Denver again just to eat here. Thank You!!
Was not happy with this place at all, seems like the food has went down hill since I was here last. It is not New Orleans cooking at all. Food is over seasoned. And the poboy is on small bread with oversized shrimp. However our waitress was amazing and even though the food wasnt great, she did a great job making our time pleasant. I would have gave 1 star but the waitress was truly what saved this place.
The building and location are fantastic! I loved the decor and the overall ambience of the restaurant. The presentation and the taste of the food was good and the beignets were the best and received a star all on their own! The waiter let us know after we tried to order that the oysters were not available due to staffing shortages which I understand is hitting our area really hard right now. The service was not great but this could be due to the staffing shortages however we came pretty early and it did not appear to be busy. Our waiter would say they would be back with something and then would not come back with it and still charged us.The food is not necessarily worth the experience for the price especially without the oysters but I would drop in for an order of those beignets to-go!
This place looked just like a restaurant in New Orleans. We half of your party arrive to be seated we had to wait for the hosts to ask if a party of 8 could be seated without a reservation. They accommodated us and our of 8 of us only 5 of us were happy with our meal. There is an upcharge of the type of rice you get with their meal and they both got white rice (which wasnt requested) and Jambalaya rice was placed on top of the white rice. U said maybe they didnt have enough rice for 2 full plating but the upcharge had them with questions that our waitress Meagan couldnt answer. And then there was a very long piece of hair in the fried chicken. The manager came over to offer my friend a different dish but she lost her appetite. We were offered a 15% discount and the family/ friends rate on the food. My dish however was AMAZING. I got the fried catfish with sautéed shrimp it had a southern flavors and the texture balanced.Besides, the 3 dishes the drinks 🍸 was great for the price. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the drinks and dishes. She made our experience much better with her personality. From Florida we thank you MEAGAN.
Absolutely great service and fantastic food. Started with the gator bites not that fresh but not bad. I got the shrimp and grits and they were wonderful. I also tried some Scottish Ale that was very good. I finished it off with a key-lime pie that was very decorative and tasty. I lived in Shreveport for awhile and this place is fairly consistent for what you would expect in Louisiana.
Something changed with the etouffee. Either that or mine is just way better. Service has been great in the past, but tonight was horrible. I went to the bar twice to get my own drink. Waitress seemed to try but if my conversation wasnt so good, I would have been pretty annoyed. Well more annoyed anyway.
They were out of gargonzola, wife ordered fried chicken and red beans and rice. Chicken was dried out over cooked hush puppies were burnt for the first time ever had to send a plate back. I wouldnt lie in saying Popeyes chicken has better food. Not trying to be a jerk but the food was not good at all. The price was so high and quality was so low. Asked for hot sauce never received it and all they offered was chillula or Tabasco. I asked no Louisiana hot sauce was told its on back order. Not what I expected at all. Would never go again.
Food was fabulous but waitstaff was not. My friend had to wait 30 minutes for her champagne, no plates were served when beniegts were brought out, we had to ask twice and still didnt receive them. Waited 20 minutes for our check, after alerting the waitress twice that we needed it. Atmosphere was ambient and relaxing.
Tried this place out for the first time this past Sunday and I must admit my family and I were extremely disappointed. A few positives:It looks good, great ambiance and nice size portions. The food itself was not at all good.I’m convinced that anyone who works here has not actually tried any style of southern food let alone Cajun style.A LOT of menu items weren’t even available so it made our options slim. The fried catfish while it looked appetizing and big in size it was not good at all. It was fried hard and to long. I never want to bite into food and actually taste the grease it was cooked in. It lacked SEASONING and FLAVOR as well. The red beans were actually OVERCOOKED never should there be bean skin. It was very thick and mushy as well. There was absolutely no juice to the beans to mix well with the rice. The crawfish Étouffée was the absolute WORSE. It lacked seasoning and flavor as well as the rest of the food. Spice does not negate flavor and seasoning. I’m actually convinced you all use a spice enhancement oil because even when making food spicy it allows some type of flavor to the dish instead of only a burning palate . Overall the food was not worth the price. We literally left there feeling as if our money was wasted. $176 down the drain. Everyone in my household literally felt queasy all day and night long after eating the bit of food we did try. Actually being from Louisiana and trying this place was a slap in the face. We would never eat here again and we definitely would NOT recommend it to anyone.
Disappointing food at a premium price. Nice place and good service but the menu is limited and the food over priced for what you get. Not recommended.
You really cant beat the two for one apps and two for one cocktails during happy hour! The grilled popcorn chicken had a good flavor. However, the blackened popcorn chicken was good but I found it to be a little too salty. The chips and salsa werent anything too special. The mixed drinks were addicting and definitely snuck up on you. You cant go wrong with this happy hour special.
The decor is beautiful. We looked at the menu before driving there. I was looking forward to calamari, fried oysters, and an Arnold Palmer but they were out of all three items. They were out of more than half of the items on the menu, including lemonade! The waiter was not knowledgeable about the items (the ones they werent out of) on the menu. He kept stepping away to find out the answers to our questions. The waiter referred to crawfish tails as fresh sucked crawfish more than a few times. I asked him if he meant crawfish tails, only oysters are fresh shucked. We asked why they were out of so many things especially basic stuff like tea and lemonade. The waiter said they order once a week and the Chef doesnt like to waste food. So they run out of things often. Strongly recommend calling to ask if they have the item or items you plan on ordering. If you plan on just drinking and socializing it should be fine.
This place was absolutely amazing, the music, the art, the food was perfect. We had this astonishing waiter that was always checking up on us and got us what we wanted and was incredibly nice.
We came in for dinner around 6pm and the place was fairly empty. We didn’t have a reservation but were seated almost immediately at a booth after being told all tables were reserved. Drinks arrived fairly quickly but the food service was a long wait which was unexplainable since the place still wasn’t very busy at all. The calamari appetizer was delicious though. Our party had the Buffalo chicken sandwich, 2-shrimp entrees, 2-red beans and rice with fried chicken. The only dish we weren’t satisfied with was the red beans and rice because it tasted more like a Mexican red chili. Having lived in NOLA this was disappointing. Finally we ordered beignets for dessert and ended up paying our bill and still waiting another 25 minutes at least before the beignets finally arrived. I agree the food is overpriced and will not be going to this establishment on future travel to Colorado Springs.
Service was fast and timely, food was flavorful and truly spectacular, atmosphere was elegantly warm and inviting. Staff was attentive, professional, and engaging.
***FLAVORLESS***The food and drinks offered are native Louisiana cuisine, without seasoning. It was a failed attempt to offer food/drinks famous for their flavors, to please palettes that are foreign to seasonings. Being from Louisiana, we definitely did not have the expectations it would be exactly how we cook. We expected them to at least try.Recommendations: Use Creole/Cajun seasonings for the food and learn how to properly mix the drinks.Overall we were majorly disappointed in the price for bland food and incorrectly made mixed drinks. If you’re used to unseasoned food, this is the place for you. We will never recommend anyone visiting Colorado Springs to stop by.
Best jumbo Ive had since living down South.
This place is too good, please dont come here! The last thing I want is for the best Sunday brunch in Colorado Springs to get overrun by a bunch of brunch jumping hipsters, but this place is too delicious to not give Springs Orleans their due. The Sunday brunch here isnt like your first kiss, or the last kiss youve had, but its like the first kiss you had when you actually knew what you were doing. The first kiss was exciting but looking back on it, it wasnt really that good. The last kiss you had might not have been more than just going through the motions, but that first kiss when you knew what you were doing was that magical moment when you experienced something truly special.Springs Orleans knows what theyre doing, pucker up and trust me.
It was amazing, no other words. I had a great server and the food was out of this world. Got the appetizer catfish bites, the chicken and andouille sausage gumbo, and finished off with the biegnets. Had nothing to complain about even being mediocre. Definitely going back.
Kind of spendy and limited menu but service was excellent. Shrimp and grits was delicious and nice ambiance!
Very good. Service and food were awesome.
Great place. Pleasant atmosphere. Michael is a very hard worker and Justin appears to be a manager that cares. A member of the staff even took our picture although she looked very busy. We will be back.
The food was actually pretty good. The waiter we had was good and made sure we had everything we needed and served us in a timely matter
Great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. What else could you ask for
We love coming here and trying new dishes out! We came for my birthday and sat outside and tried the gumbo, a bowl of the pork green chili, the lobster bisque and we finished with birthday beignets. We went back recently and tried the breakfast buffet which was pretty good and for $10 bucks a person you cant beat it. I would recommend this place for a date night or a early lunch with the family!
Find was ok... service sucked.... just that simple
The look of the place is unremarkable. Overall atmosphere gets good marks with a live solo jazz pianist. Service was quite good, albeit before the weekend night rush. Food is where this place shines. Fried shrimp po boy overflowing. Flavorful gumbo, mild enough for almost anyone’s taste. Lobster in pasta sauce...about what you’d expect. Sautéed shrimp, a little over cooked with too much bite of you ask me. Tarragon seems to be their flavor of choice here as it was in the forefront of just about every sauce they could put it in. Not overpowering, but definitely what the chef wants you to walk away knowing you ate. Recommend a reservation. Saturday night at 6pm and it appears it was getting busy enough for the staff. Prices were extremely acceptable.
My Gumbo was delicious and the key lime pie was tasty. Our server, Kelsey was very friendly, efficient, and kept our drinks full. I highly recommend Springs Orleans!
Not a lot of menu choice and really wasnt all that busy but took forever to get seated
Terrible service, not once did they come to check on me and my wife to see how the dish that took an hour and a half to come out was. There were multiple times that there were absolutely no servers on the floor or at the bar. We didnt get our appetizer until 20 minutes after we told them we never got it and it came after out main entree. As well as the food we ordered was either burnt or undercooked and underseasoned. The food was massively overpriced for the quality. This is not authentic cajun food. Its exactly what I would expect from a restaurant that didnt bother to hire a exec chef that has experience cooking louisiana cuisine. Never again.
The hostess was so horrifically inattentive that the party waiting before us went snooping around the podium. Slowly she emerged to greet and seat the patrons who eyed each other, wondering if they should even stay to dine. Then, inexplicably, she went to bar to mix drinks for one of the five people seated there (despite there being an actual bar tender on duty). By now our reservation was 15 minutes elapsed and we decided that the amateur working the front was likely indicative of poor training across the house and mis-management in all respects, and we chose to dine at the Kum & Go conveniently located down the street.
Some of the best food in colorado springs, love going here with friends and family
Food was awesome tested great by everyone there. They had a large party and still managed to keep up with demand loved the food definitely gonna make this a spot to eat at when Im in town again!!
We went there for our anniversary dinner. We liked the location. We were very disappointed though because they ran out of almost everything we wanted to eat ( raw oysters, gumbo.. )The veggies smells bad and the food is a very small portion for $22. We expected a very great Orleans type of food but we got very disappointed.I ordered the crawfish etouffee, it was good but crawfish had no taste, and the taste of Orleans is just missing.I give 3 stars because the waitress was nice and she apologized about all the food they dont have.
Service was top notch. Our server, Megan M., showed up after everything was delivered. She checked on us at opportune times and we never felt like she wasnt around. See kept our drinks full all night and the table clear. Also we didnt even need to bring it up because at some point she dropped off our check and we didnt even realize it. I will more the likely be asking for her again the next time iIcome in. Not to mention the food prepared by Chef Shyann Aguilar. It was our in record times for restaurants and had phenomenal flavors. The key line pie is so creamy, not overly sweet, and delicious I really recommend it.
I am a southerner I wish to express my warmest thanks to the owner of this establishment for bringing a little slice of home to colorado. The bartender made me a fine Sazarac and the best Vieux Carre I have ever had. The etoufee is delightful and the gumbo deep and dark. Shannon Aguilar the executive chef nailed every item that the table ordered. Our waiter was also an amazing part of the meal with the host treating g the entire table quite well also. Just a magical experience on the 4th of July Holiday no less. Thanks bunches all of yall.
Blackened chicken can be super dry, but theirs was so moist, and the sauce was fantastic. It paired well with the asparagus and mashed potatoes. The slightly spicy tomato soup of the day was fabulous. Kelsey, our server, was so friendly and went the extra mile, as did the manager, Jason. My spouse loved the salad with apples and blue cheese, and added grilled chicken.
Tried to make a reservation online and it didn’t work. Showed up here with a group of 6 people and the place was empty but they wouldn’t seat our group. Said they expected a dinner rush and couldn’t serve us. It’s frustrating to see empty tables and be told, no thanks. We had tickets to an event and planned to eat fast but oh well.
Ive been here a few times and everything Ive eaten here is always good. Most recent visit was for a party of 12, so they head us sitting upstairs. My husband and I split the impossible burger, which we were extremely excited to try. To explain, the impossible burger is 100% plant-based patty that mimics the taste of a beef burger. When they came to bring our food they actually split it for us which was nice. I know people would think why even have a burger if its not meat, but the impossible burger was amazing!! The taste of the patty and texture of the bread was perfect! Even my husband who is a meat eater, loved it!! I wish i could just buy a box of the patties. If Im ever craving a burger Im definitely coming here!
Just walked in at 8:39 and they said they were closed. Website says you close at 9:00.Bad business decision?Change your website to tell people you are closed.People do not like to be misled.Very disappointed!!
Really disappointing service. We waited for 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, without any acknowledgment or explanation. Decided to leave.
Super friendly staff! Amazing food!
The food was good!! Presentation, spectacular!! And they cooked it they way I like it. The server seemed distracted for whatever reason, they werent busy for all that. But, I would recommend!! More for adults, date night or something a little more fancy without the kiddos. I had the salmon and hubby has that huge catfish po boy!!
My catfish meal was delicious! My husband and I shared beignets, the best I have had yet! Great service and ambience, too.
I’m not sure if it was the manager or the owner. However, he was the only one and was still attentive and not missing a beat. The food was splendid! You get what you are paying for (and more).
Excellent food and service, love their Cajun dishes.
Ran out of items we were looking forward to eating. Other than that, service was good
Ok service, food is bland, hushpuppies were burnt, tasted like old grease, tries to be fancy but needs to stick to basics.
Ive had better Cajun food at Popeyes and the service is just as bad. Food extremely bland no seasoning and was like warm. Service is almost non existent. Dont waste your money you will be disappointed I assure you.
Great food Great service the staff is awesome
Pretty good, kinda expensive. I think they need to work on managing reservations and walk ins. I came here with my boyfriend and there were about 9 tables open, but they said it was going to be a 30 min wait because of reservations. Thats fine, and they said we can sit at the bar. We sat at the bar and had our dinner there. We took about 40 min to eat and not a single one of those tables were used. In fact more tables opened up. I wouldnt have too much of a problem with this if it wasnt so hard to eat at the bar. (I am really short)I do like the beignets!
My server, Matthew was personable and provided an elevated experience for my party. Great job, bud! I was satisfied with my meal and thought everything was pretty tasty.
The atmosphere and service was nice. I ordered the fried buffalo chicken sandwich. Very delicious and I had a mocktail to spice things up even more. I will definitely be returning.
