Do NOT recommend. After an issue with safety regarding roommates and having the front office advise us to contact local police. Even with a police report The Retreat does not take the safety of female residents seriously. Allowing male roommates to pull and destroy someone else personal property and threatening them with no consequences. The retreat does care about their female residents who feel unsafe in the community. If youre a parent of a daughter, becareful before choosing this place.
Amenities are awesome, great staff. Jordan is beyond helpful. I ran into very little trouble. I would definitely try to get the 2b2 or 3b3. 4b4 is just too much and theres not enough space for that in my opinion.
I love living at the retreat! The apartment is really nice and the office is always super helpful any time I call about something. 10/10 Recommend this place!!
The housing is gorgeous and for the most part well kept up. The rooms are all different sizes so although everyone pays the same, our rooms are very different. Utilities are incredibly expensive and you will pay much more that you expect with additional move in fees, signing up for additional services that are required to move in and there are 2 landlord fees that are about 20$ added to each months rent. It’s a nice place to live but be prepared to pay for more than you sign up for.Update: Just to clarify any confusion. Simple bills is a commonly used program that requires a sign up fee of 65$. Some places dont use it and I wish I had known to ask about it before I signed. There is also an administrative fee of 150$ that was required before we moved in along with a 45$ application fee and a 100$ deposit. We have had issues with parking and being blocked in due to our location and being so close to maintenance and the pool area. I understand that all of the rooms are different but since we all pay the same amount it is something that has caused difficultly among roommates and something we would consider when looking at houses. Utilities have costed anywhere between 50-100$ every month which is high compared to other places I have lived in College Station. As I said originally, the houses here are gorgeous and honestly some of the biggest student housing options Ive seen. The condition of the house was pretty good when we moved in and there is plenty of outdoor space around the houses. I dont regret living here but there were a few things Ive found frustrating that I wish I had known before I moved in. I appreciate you responding and clarifying some of the information for individuals who are looking to live here in the future.
I got charged two pet cleaning fee when it’s documented that I don’t even have a dog! I ended up sending TWO emails and never got a response after two weeks. At this point, I feel like they are trying to scam me.
Been here since 2018 and everything from the staffing, amenities, and maintenance is just great! They are very attentive and willing to work with you no matter what to come to a common solution to better accommodate you! The tow truck can give you hell if your visitors don’t park in the visitor parking, but if you catch him fast enough he’ll drop it for a small fee. You can’t get a better location, complex, and experience anywhere else in Bryan/College Station.
Daughter lived here 2 years. Management was good. Trash pick up at your door. Maintenance was the best! Always someone to answer the phone and came quick to fix whatever issue was.
It’s a nice place to live, people are friendly and the retreat is willing to help you with any issues you have.
Staff is great. The Retreat is very accommodating and really cares about their residents. The CFA dinners are the best. They are always open to hearing from residents to see how they can improve their property:)
Lived here for one full lease term and very much enjoyed the experience very good staff and friendliness throughout the neighborhood. Daulton has done a great job managing my packages and working the front desk with a smile.
I love living at the retreat, nice facilities and with the electronic locks I feel safer then having a regular deadbolt. I love the living spaces and just how much room you actually get. Also have my own restroom in my room and not having to share is even better. Overall great experience here in just my first year.
Me and my son toured The Retreat and it was lovely. Madison took us on our tour and she was well-informed and very helpful!
The amenities are nice, maintanence comes timely, its very dog friendly, and with so many green spaces and activity centers you dont feel clustered like in apartments. Also, appreciate the individual rooms having deadbolts as well!
The retreat is the best place I have lived in cstat so far!! The staff is super chill and nice and they always have free promo stuff/food! Love it
Not too many issues since I’ve been here but a couple things have been a little annoying. The area in the back of the complex (where I live) kind of resembles a huge swamp-like area, gross body of water and thick vegetation in our “backyard”. Last year they used to mow this entire area pretty frequently. This year they only mow a very small portion of this area and it seems much less frequent. They stopped mowing the rest of that area completely for some reason and it’s just been growing rampantly all year. Not great for the pets back here because there are fleas and ticks everywhere, and there have been several run-ins with snakes. There’s also an alligator that apparently lives in the area, and while I’ve never had any problems, it does kind of make me nervous if my dog were to get out unsupervised.Lastly, the internet within the entire complex went down today around noon, without any forewarning from management. Nobody in the entire complex has had any wired/WiFi connection and there hasn’t been a single email or update about it from the staff and it’s been about 12 hours. Also, none of the residents are able to file any maintenance requests right now. I’m not saying management closed requests, but it is a bit weird that all of a sudden we cant file any requests. The internet issue will more than likely be fixed by tomorrow, but regardless of that, it’s extremely annoying for the internet to go down without warning and then not hear anything about it from management the entire day. I feel like every single one of your residents losing their internet would be something you’d want to address immediately, or at least acknowledge at some point within that day.But aside from these annoyances, living here has been great overall. Neighbors have all been great, never been towed, and never had any security issues.
Not only did I love the place I live at, but the community is also absolutely amazing. I loved every second while I was there, the place felt so comfortable
I have lived here for 3 years now. Very kind staff and great amenities. They also fix issues very quick which is amazing and keep the place clean.
I have loved living here with my roommates. The amenities are very nice and the staff is always responsive to anything we call about. I love the location and the area is incredibly clean and organized. Their services are quick as well.
I love living at the retreat!! The amenities are amazing including the pool, study rooms, and gym. We have had very few problems since living here, but every time we did have a problem, maintenance was here within the day. I would recommend this place to anyone! There is even a bus route that goes to campus for those that need it. Also a perk for all the giveaways and free food sometime hehe. Love the retreat!!!
I love the neighborhood and location of this place. Staff is also super friendly and maintenance is prompt!
I love living at The Retreat! Mya at the front desk is always so helpful and friendly!!
The retreat staff is nice amazing and friendly, I love living here
I have loved living here so far! The Retreat has AMAZING amenities and the nicest staff! I definitely recommend the Retreat for anyone looking to live off campus. There is so much space in each cottage and a pretty big kitchen!
Place markets all this amazing stuff and half of it doesn’t work or isn’t running and the price stays the same no matter what
I just toured here and Hannah Dees showed me around. Awesome amenities and the staff was so nice! Looks like a great place to live!
I have had so many problems with the Retreat such as bad roommate experiences but my most recent run in has been with parking. I am a resident here and have been for 2 years. Live somewhere else if you have the opportunity. Today when I was going to my nursing school clinical, I walked outside to see that my car had been towed. Thanks Retreat. I won’t be recommending you to anyone. Also please clean the gym.
Decent, need more resident events but they try and sometimes deliver. Maintenance and wifi is great.
No parking what so ever. As it being the first couple weeks of move in everyone should be able to park with out getting towed. The visitor parking is very limited and never any spaces open. Towing should not be in forced right now as many parents and friends are helping people move in. My friend was here for one night and only found one parking spot and got towed within 12 hours. The retreat needs to find a better way to have people park or ease up on towing people. This is getting out of hand.
They towed my car even though it was in a visiter parking spot. They are incompetent when dealing with time sensitive matters. No one EVER answers the after hours phone. I have been waiting for my reimbursement for a week (300$), and i can not afford groceries and gas because of their incompetence. Live here at your own risk, all they want to do is rob you of as much money as they can and then leave you out to dry.
Great place to live and lots of amenities. Friendly staff. Maintenance is quick and easy.
The Management is horrible. They do not care about their residents and barely attend to their needs. The old management of Kyle and Rufus took care of everything, but once they left and Alex and Keisha were hired, things went to hell. They never answer their phones and barely meet face to face. Parking is horrible, there are always break ins, and they always tow your car for no reason. The front desk employees are great! Keeley, Madison, Tristan, they are all wonderful. Very helpful. Its just the management who seems to not care.
Love when Retreat staff gets goodies for the residents! Also maintenance team is great!
Nicest people best employees especially clayton!
Living here is great! No complaints and highly recommend.
The retreat is a great place to live. Love the gym and pool
I’ve been in the process of finding housing in college station and have come to the conclusion that the retreat is by far the best option. Kaytlin has helped me with it all, showing me all the amenities and floor plans. couldn’t have asked for a better guide.
The amenities are awesome and I love the way everything is set up! It feels like a home but with apartment/condo perks like a pool, fitness center, and even a hot tub! It’s got a good community and I know I’m gonna have a lot of fun here. I can’t wait to finally move in this coming fall!
There are no words to express the amazing staff at The Retreat College Station. From the management to the staff they are professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable of the property. If you are looking for a place for your student to live and experience the best off-campus life, please contact The Retreat College Station.
Madison Stanfield is so amazing! She helps me with anything I need at the retreat! I am so thankful that she works here!
I have lived here for over a year and it is my favorite place I have lived in College Station! The maintenance is always fast and they have great service. I also love the clubhouse and pool!
Great service and cool lil spot! Pull up
Management and maintenance are always helpful if we have any issues at our apartment! Great place to live off campus while still being close!
Great pool, gym, tanning bed, and Maintenance services!!
Great place to live, nice buildings and spaces.
This is my second year living at The Retreat and it has been a great experience. Great management staff. Great amenities. The clubhouse is always clean and organized. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cottage styled apartment while going to school
Very inviting staff and the community is great !
I signed at the retreat because I was looking for a bigger place than my apartment but I still wanted a place that still felt safe! I am very excited to be moving in with my three best friends and hope to have the best year yet!
Couldnt be more happy with our selection of the Retreat @ College Station.Apartment was amazingly clean upon move in! Staff in the Leasing Office has been nothing more than kind and pleasant. FIVE STARS!!
Have an issue w/the parking at the Retreat. The simple solution would be to assign a parking spot for the individuals who are paying and TOW individuals who do not live here...not your own residents. I was thinking get my son moved here next month but after they tow my daughter car she paid her parking and waiting for her when I called her car was towed they told me she can come get the tag they waited until they told me to tell your daughter to come get the tag I am moving my daughter after her lease expire please check and think before you pick this place for your love one
I have lived in multiple places in College Station and this is by far the worst. The property is nice, it is the management that is horrendous. When corona started in March myself and roommates all left. During this time vandalism occurred on the property and they charged us for their negligence. Would not recommend.
I love living at the retreat!! Keeley makes my experience here so amazing
Have lived here for 3 years now and loved every minute. And the free Starbuck’s Gift Cards
Literally so sweet!! Gave their residents free Chick-fil-A! We love the retreat! Lived here 2 years!
I wouldn’t rent from this complex because friends that come visit will get there car towed and will cost them 300$ my daughter lives at the Cottages and they are so good about letting friends park and not tow them. The tow company drives around looking for cars in this complex to tow. Just seems so wrong and the apartment management is aware of the unlimited amount of parking spots but still continues to tow.Stay away!!!
The office workers are so nice, Hannah at the front is always so nice and helpful!
I have an issue w/the parking at the Retreat. The simple solution would be to assign a parking spot for the individuals who are paying and TOW individuals who do not live here...not your own residents. The gates are not secure, and furthermore neither is having young women walk a distance to enter their apartments. This seems to be a huge issue this semester. I would re-think if youre looking at this location, safety does not seem to be a top priority.
Decent housing but parking situation is horrible
I love living at The Retreat. The houses are nice, maintenance is fast, and it’s a convenient distance to campus. The staff is also great, especially Keeley. She goes above and beyond and always has a smile on her face when you walk in.
My name is Bethany and I’ve lived at the retreat for two years now. Chris and Alex are great managers!!
The retreat is so beautiful!! I signed my lease for this coming fall a few months ago and the process was so easy! The staff was super friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to move in!
I was on the fence debating between moving into the retreat and the cottages but Kaytlin made it such an easy and painless process and completely sold me!
I LOVE THIS PLACE
I have had nothing but a positive experience at the retreat! I love it so much I have resigned for next year. Love the amenities and maintenance always comes quickly.
I signed at the retreat for the spaciousness and queen beds!!! The amenities are a plus as well, the pool is insanely nice 🤗
Overall my daughter is happy living here. However, I have emailed several times about the street lights being out and its not just a few of them out, its more than half in the community. I agree with previous posters, Safety is NOT a priority for them. Its not safe to have these kids walking around in the dark. My daughter did put in a work request, as per the suggestion of The Retreat in an answer below....and it was marked as completed which is is NOT. This has been going on for almost 4 weeks.I dont understand what the issue is with changing the bulbs and I might understand the issue if someone replied to my emails.
Best place to live in c stat!
Great amenities and staff! The pool is also amazing!
They gave us Chick Fil A to welcome us back to school!
Really great amenities, and employees are also really useful
I love the Retreat! Everything is great!!
Honestly I wish I knew about this place sooner, it has everything you could be looking for at your convenience such as bomb study rooms, 24/7 computer lab, and my personal favorite: mini dog parks. The list goes on and that’s why I decided to renew. It’s hard to find a decently built place with nice customer service in a college town (especially with all the amenities) but if you’re looking for something near perfect I recommend the retreat.
Love the amenities- studying in the clubhouse, the gym is so nice, and the pool is a great place to relax. Best place to live, signing again!
Good houses, parking can be annoying
The staff is amazing! Chris is the so helpful!!!
Theyre good housing company and good with contests on social media you cant win every time 😁
The leasing staff is very nice here! I am extremely excited to move here! I love apartment scenery : ) I really hope the management doesnt change!
Been living here for 2 years and have never had a problem! Management and maintenance are great!
I have had my ups and downs with The Retreat but after its all been said and done it has been a great place to live. The best thing about The Retreat would have to be the maintenance team. They have been my favorite thing about living here, due to it being a college home things break and they are always right on it. On top of that, they are the nicest guys in the world!
I do not recommend living here. Promises were not kept, which has resulted in many issues. The trash disposable is in the back of the property making it difficult for students who live at the front. (I drive my trash to the disposal.) Management is horrible. They never resolve your problems correctly or quickly as they should. The gates never work. The pool remains dirty along with the workout room. There is absolutely no security on the property, another promise not kept. My house was broken into by someone picking our lock, which is not hard to do. Lastly, the houses are cheaply built! I have not got my moneys worth so dont waste yours!
The Retreat is an awesome place for me, my roommates, and all of our animals! The amenities are incredible, the staff is so kind, and I love living here! Renewing my lease was the best choice I’ve made this school year!
Absolutely love the Retreat! Very nice amenities and the shuttle bus is an awesome service they provide.
The community is nice and fun i love the gym pool and the study rooms. there is also printers that are available which is very very nice. the best thing is CJ, the shuttle driver giving rides to Northgate!
Really cool and safe place to live at
Great place to live. They are very accommodating and helpful
This is my third year living at The Retreat and I love it! It is definitely a home away from home! They have the best staff and amenities. 10/10 recommend !!
Fun place to live! Great amenities. I wish the golf simulator was ope to residents 24/7 and we have had a few minor issues with the A/C in our apt.
The Retreat was an incredible let down. We lucked out and moved in with working appliances/electricity etc., but everyone I know who lives there moved in with those problems. Maintenance requests/work orders take days for a response, even if the work order is an emergency (our apartment had multiple floods from the ceiling downstairs). Also, if youre not aware (I definitely wasnt), The Retreat is basically known as party central among housing in CSTAT because of the pool size, so good luck finding parking if you live less than a 10 minute walk away from the clubhouse.👍🏻
Good place to be.
The host of our tour was phenomenal. She tried to answer all of our questions precisely, was very nice, and had a great sense of humor. Honestly, she sold us the apartment itself- she gave it so much value. Thank you Isabel!
Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful pool & super useful clubhouse/amenities, including free printing and a private bus to Northgate on weekends. LOVE my little home; I will say that certain minuscule accents about home are cheap (EX: blinds, wall paint, bathroom tile). Overalllll happy to say Ive renewed for my last year of college!
I love living here. Wide open green spaces for animals, good customer service, and the space in the apartment is great. I recently renewed and plan to do so for the next 2 years!
I LOVE living here!!! The staff is super nice and I love all the amenities!!
Never live here! I lived here for a year and regret giving every cent to these heartless people. They just want your money and are the worst customer service Ive ever talked with. Worse than Comcast, worse than AT&T, just absolutely terrible. Their units when I lived there last year had a bug problem, there was a noise problem, and management doesnt care about you. Oh and they also will tow your friends. I hated living there and hope to save someone from the misery of dealing with these people. And once you move out they will charge you even more to clean stuff when you cleaned it before you left. AVOID this place at all costs!
Absolute amazing place to live! The leasing agents are extremely helpful, and Dathan is awesome! They really go above and beyond to make you feel taken care of, I would definitely recommend living here!
They placed random person in our unit after telling us over and over that they wouldn’t. Beyond that, she had a dog, when I already had my own dog in the unit. Why would you ever place two dogs who don’t know each other together? So many potential things to go wrong. Hannah is the only good staff member I’ve worked with. Besides her, everyone is very defensive, and blames you for things that are the complex’s fault. It’s a pretty place, but the staff needs some customer service training, as is the case with most student apartment I guess. Lie to your residents to get them to sign the lease, then bleed them for money..
I am living there next year at one of the Belmont’s and I am so excited to have such an awesome place to stay. the concession was amazing!! Can’t wait!
Great staff! Great place to live in college station!
If i could get away with no stars I would......Although the rent here could possibly be a good deal, that is about the only good thing about the Retreat. Be absolutely wary of ever renting here, the staff in general are not helpful. The only bright spot was a girl named Neka, she was always friendly, helpful and very personable. All qualities you want in a person representing your apartment complex. I cannot say that about any encounters had with anyone else in the front office staff. Calling for maintenance to fix something was laughable, the gates did not work for over a year, lawn maintenance was non-existent, the pool was always dirty, parking is an absolute nightmare because people who did not live there took up the parking spots and residents were left with no parking spots....I could go on and on but we would be here forever. My issue comes mostly with the fact that lease renewals begin almost as soon (less than 3 months) after your current lease started. And if for any reason you need to get out of your lease (because you switch schools,) the cost associated with getting out of that lease is stupid. We learned that in order to get a better deal or to keep the apartment you are currently in, you sign your lease renewal (doesnt expire till July) so early (emails start in December), and if you didnt they can give the apartment you are currently living in to someone else. A whole lot can change between Jan and July. Although the staff could have been helpful in finding a person to take over the lease they were not. They were more interested in collecting the 1/2 of the lease you are trying to get out of up front. And then turn around and sign up another person to lease it. I get having that policy in place for people who are really trying to get out of their lease just because, but if you have a legitimate reason (our switch to a different school was very last minute and not expected at all) then they should absolutely be more helpful and revise their policy to accommodate for that. I expected to pay a couple months rent & a small fee, not 6 months up front to get out of the lease. DO not let them convince you that since new management has taken over that anything has improved....and just wait till you get the final bill. The amount of nickel and diming that occurs will make you even more upset than you were before. IF / WHEN YOU MOVE INTO THIS APARTMENT MAKE SURE YOU DOCUMENT EVERY SINGLE THING THAT IS WRONG, TAKE A PICTURE OF IT AND FILL OUT THE MOVE IN FORM AND TURN IT IN KEEPING A COPY FOR YOURSELF...OTHERWISE YOU WILL PAY FOR THE DAMAGE THEY DID NOT ADDRESS FROM THE PREVIOUS TENANTS AND THAT ADDS UP QUICKLY. MAKE SURE IF YOU ARE REQUESTING MAINTENANCE THAT YOU SUBMIT A WORK ORDER THROUGH THE RESIDENT PORTAL SO THAT THERE IS A RECORD THAT YOU ASKED FOR IT TO BE FIXED.
