I scheduled a consultation here since Im not only new in the area and Im search of a salon but I also wanted to attempt to fix some brassiness I had to my hair. Upon arriving the staff was very welcoming. Consultation went well and then came back for the actual appointment as suggested. The stylist I had was very friendly, warm. She had agreed to tone the color, cut and dry the hair. Im also realistic, the fact that it wasnt easy what we were attempting to fix. Now I know and understand that not everyone can have experiences with certain types of hair. She attempted to blend the spotty areas and tone the color but it did come out more of a cinnamon color. It isnt awful. But Im sure not what we both expected the outcome to be and I appreciated her honesty. Now to the cut... its cute. The blow dry.... well its not what Im used to. It still felt somewhat frizzy to me. Im just used to stylist really knowing how to polish the hair with a blower leaving it silky smooth. But again it may not have been their expertise. My hair felt a bit heavier than what Im used to. Overall she did the best she could. Im still on the hunt for a salon. Other than that the salon in itself is super cute and inviting along with their staff. This by all means isnt about bashing the stylist. Just wasnt a good fit for me. Im just sorry it didnt work out. I do wish them the best.

I booked appointments for me and my sister to have pedicures and we were assigned Brittany and Grace. They were both very sweet, gentle, thorough and did an excellent job on our pedicures. The shop is super cute, everyone seemed friendly so I definitely plan to return.

I absolutely love Shawn Paul Salon and have been getting my nails done and an occasional eyebrow wax for over a year now. Katy does an awesome job with my nails and I always feel so great and confident after getting them done. Whether I want an elaborate Halloween design or a simple color, it looks great. Char has done my eyebrows a few times too and she is so calming and helps you feel relaxed the whole time. Truly a great experience for both services. 5/5 would recommend!!

This was my first time at Shawn Paul and it was very pleasant. I am still new to Northeast Ohio and have had some not so good experiences in in the service industry for nails and pedicures. Brittany did my pedicure on my not so pretty toes and they are awesome. I think I found my place! Thanks to all that I interacted with today, from start to finish, it was amazing.

I just left the salon about an hour ago, and Ive already gotten a compliment on my hair from a stranger. I just want to drive this home - Shawn Paul took my wavy, frizzy hair that Ive been hacking away at home for the last year because Ive been too nervous to go to a salon, then cut it so perfectly that it air-dried into the best cut Ive ever had, and strangers have noticed. That would be enough, but Shawn Paul was also a delight to talk with! Char also gave me an excellent brow wax. Im truly a whole new woman.Everyone at the salon was warm and welcoming, and I felt very comfortable with the precautions they are taking to keep their staff and clients safe. I cant recommend them highly enough.

I was on the hunt for a new salon after my long-time stylist moved to a location I wasnt willing to travel to. I had gotten a manicure at Shawn Paul Salon several years ago, and liked the vibe of their space, so I decided to book a hair cut appointment online with Zoe. Im so glad I chose Zoe - she has been so fun to work with and I have been so impressed with my hair! She gave me peanut butter and jelly hair over the summer, which came out beautifully and shes also done a great job getting me back to my natural hair color. She takes her time with hair cuts and always does a great job. She recommends products without being pushy, and Ive found some great products at her suggestion. Ive also been seeing Katy for my gel manicures, and Ive been impressed with the quality of her work as well. Her manicures gave me nearly an extra month with a nail that was breaking too low to cut, and Ive been going back regularly ever since because I enjoy our conversations and the work that she does. With so many salons out there with cold, sterile décor, I really love how inviting and homey Shawn Paul Salon is, and I appreciate all of the COVID-19 precautions theyre taking. Yes, it feels weird to leave the salon with wet hair, but I like that theyre taking things seriously for the safety of their staff and customers.

I have been a client of the Shawn Paul Salon for over 5 years and could not imagine a better salon that takes amazing care of each client and every one their clients. I have received a number of services including haircuts, color (retouches, highlights, blowouts, etc.), facials, waxing, manicures, and pedicures.Most recently, I had a Reiki session with Holly! This service is new to the salon but I cannot recommend it enough. Holly is so gentle and attentive to her clients and ensures that you are comfortable and feel relaxed. I left the session feeling as if there was nothing that could happen to me that day that could possibly ruin it. Reiki is a practice that involves energy work and deep relaxation. Highly recommend!

Zoe is incredible, as is the salon overall. They are thoughtful about everything they do, from really listening to the client’s wishes, to the little touches like using wonderful products and the most comfortable shampoo bowls. Great place, they really excelled in every way imaginable. I went in with an unusual request. I’m on a long backpacking trip and don’t have regular access to hair care products. I told the stylist that I wanted to look like a stylish hobo rather than an actual hobo. She listened attentively, looked over some pics I brought with of hairstyles I liked (all messy style cuts), asked some questions, then got to work. I always wait at least a week before reviewing any haircut I’ve been given and I’m glad I did. Whatever shampoo and conditioner they used to wash my hair did such an amazing job that for over a week my hair stayed very smooth and silky. Now that it’s “gone feral” after some time in the backcountry, it looks exactly like what I was hoping for. I’m really impressed, being able to give a haircut that looks really good to someone who specifically says, “I’m not going to be able to give it much care” is next level.They’re definitely COVID conscious, everything in the station was meticulously cleaned (I arrived a couple mins early and got to watch the process, from a safe distance of course)Oh and they gave me a first time customer discount without me asking, even though they knew I might not be back in Cleveland for a long time. Which is just phenomenal customer care.Finally, their window has a huge pride flag painted on it!Go here, you will not be disappointed!

I have never had a bad experience at Shawn Paul Salon. All of the staff and stylists are friendly, engaging, and beyond helpful. They were quick to hang my coat, get me tea, and check me in for my appointment today. Oh, also, I love how my hair looks every single time I leave. Shawn Paul Salon is a very cute salon with super nice people, however my hair was a wreck after I left. I wanted blonde hair and ended up with the front of my hair black and the back brown (my natural color) with random streaks of whites throughout my hair. I’m very disappointed with the outcome, especially because I was coming here to fix my already messed up hair from another salon. My self confidence has never been so low, I feel embarrassed to go outside.

Holly was absolutely incredible. She was so sweet and gave great professional advice on what to do with my hair. She also gave great recommendations on what I should do and see in Cleveland. I love my hair cut and cant wait to go back!

Great place, and I had a experience with Vivian yesterday, so I had to come and leave a review. She went above and beyond with my finicky hair, taking the time to perfectly style it for me. She was super patient and personable with me. She also gave me some great tips to help with the hard water build up in my fine hair, and even showed me how to cut my own bangs if I want to do that sometime. And I love my new haircut! The owner, Sean Paul, is wonderful. Mandy usually does my hair, she is terrific, I have curly hair, and finally I love my curls. The products they offer are a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way and they are very effective. Small space is very charming-Love this salon.

Shawn Paul took me through what could have been a very traumatic experience (cutting off my long hair in preparation for chemo treatments) and made it enjoyable. He gave me a lovely pixie haircut which people constantly give me compliments on! The salon itself is stylish and fun and the Davines hair products they use smell incredible. I had a wonderful experience here and will be going back again.

I needed to transition between styles, and Britney did an amazing job. I had a complete disconnect for curly hair + a purposefully uneven cut, which she styled probably the cutest Ive had in YEARS without sacrificing length. Magic!! She was very honest about the feasability of the cut I had in mind coming in, and showed me some really nice alternatives that would actually work, and I love it.

Ive made a few visits to Shawn Paul Salon since moving to Cleveland Heights and Im ready to say that Ill be making Megan my regular hairdresser! She really listens to what I want and puts me at ease. Its a harder combination of attributes to find than you might think!Im not a gal who likes to spend time on my hair - its strictly a wash-and-go type of situation - and I refuse to use product. Megan takes my needs into account and gives me really lovely, low-maintenance cuts that lay nicely and grow out beautifully.The whole salon is beautifully decorated and the entire staff is welcoming and gracious. Id recommend that anyone who is in search of a new salon give Shawn Paul a try!

Really cool place and I absolutely loved Lily and my experience. However, the end result I am not too happy with. On my pedicure there are a few blemishes in the paint and my gel manicure started peeling after 4 days.Update: the salon owner called me and said I could have my nails redone which is pretty cool!

Ashley was supposed to do my hair and consolation today. Waste 40 mins to get there and wait and apparently I wasnt very important. After waiting a week for my apt. No time. U had time to do a 60$ hair cut but not color when I booked my appointment a week in advance. Horrible service. I will never ever recommend anyone going to her at all

I never write reviews (Im usually just a lurker) but I HAD to write a review for this salon.Im only in Cleveland for the summer, so this was a fresh experience for me. The first time I went in I got my hair cut by Vivian. For the first time, a hairdresser cut EXACTLY what I wanted - *just* enough to trim the damaged hair, and the face-framing layers I dreamed of. I looked and felt incredible, and Vivian was so reassuring and communicative.I decided to go back for a manicure with Katie, who was new but nonetheless incredibly kind, accommodating, and excellent in her work. I never get my nails done (like once a year) and I was looking forward to French manicure and gel polish. When I walked in the appointment was a bit late, delayed by the previous customer, and she said she didnt have enough time for French tips since they take longer. I was disappointed, but then she made a call and shifted her schedule back just for me so we could have time for it, and the nails came out perfectly.I then had a consultation with Vivian for a full hair bleach and dye (from brown to blue) which was free, and settled on a Saturday to do it. Id been dreaming about blue hair for months, and I was so nervous about damage to my hair or a bad dye job, as I had a bad experience with the only other coloring Ive gotten (auburn red balayage, which looked more scary Halloween highlights).I was nervous, but Vivian explained everything she was doing thoroughly to ease my nerves and constant questions (Im a very curious person and I like to know what everything being put in my hair does). It doesnt hurt that shes also a very interesting person to talk to! Time flew by and those 8 hours were so worth it. I have MERMAID HAIR!!! Ive never felt this beautiful and confident in my life. She also gave me detailed instructions on how to care for my hair with minimal damage, and how to affordably perform upkeep on my coloring at home. She even gave me her number in case I need any advice regarding my hair.Every time Ive gone to this salon the service has been incredible - everyone in the entire place is so kind and helpful, theres jars and jars of unlimited free candy, and they offer you free tea and coffee as soon as you sit down. The interior design is wonderful, the hair products smell incredible and are sustainable, ethically-sourced, and top quality, but most of all their work is incredible.Thanks so much Shawn Paul Salon! Watch out, next time Im in Cleveland, Ill be coming back. (I might even come back just for you.)

Nail Review: LONGEST LASTING GEL POLISH EVER. I’ve had many gel manis from salons in CA and OH, and I am usually pulling out my bottle of nail glue by day 10-12 to keep gel on for 2 weeks. It never lasts longer than that. Not this manicure! It was day 14 before I got the first itty bitty chip. Day 20 (!!) and the gel has BARELY started to lift in a couple of places, and my nails still look great. I’m floored. Yana was my nail technician, and she was very kind and through. Because I often do my own nails, I’m overly critical about my nail shape and the paint job. With very little description from me, Yana got the shape perfect on the first try (first time that’s ever happened) and a solid 4.5 out of 5 on the paint job (the lines around the edges could have been a tiny bit cleaner). I’m already recommending this clean, cute, and relaxing salon to my friends. The wide range of color options and incredibly long lasting manis make a little higher price point very worth it.

Was contacted by the owner re: the interaction that happened almost 3 weeks ago.True to his belief and professional philosophy, Shawn Paul emailed and texted me regarding the incident I described below. He apologized for the miscommunication that happened and how the incident was handled by the front desk person.To correct the situation, he offer to cut my hair free of charge next time.My initial was a five-star; however the review below pertains to my most recent interaction with the front desk:I was quite disappointed on how the front desk handled my appointment. I was scheduled for a 10am appointment on a Friday morning. When I showed up, I was informed that my appointment was for 5pm, and that the client scheduled for the 10am was booked far in advanced versus mine.A salon who is willing to work with their clients would have checked with any free stylists at that time, but no. Not this woman. She insisted that I was scheduled at 5pm. I cancelled and left feeling it was my fault.After 30 minutes, I got a phone call from Laura informing me that they can reschedule me on the next Friday, at 10am. Hmmmm.If Shawn was there, he would have known how to handle this situation and make the client feel better- this is an expensive place to get a haircut in the first place. The way I was treated today made me feel I was not a valued client.The stylists there are awesome! However incidents like this can leave a sour taste.Previous 5-star rating review:I love this place. I decided to switch stylists since this place is so convenient for me (near my work) AND drum roll please...Vivian is the bomb! She takes time to listen to your needs and will give suggestions that are manageable for a wash-and-wear type of gal like me.I am really picky with people who work with my hair (any woman would be picky too!), especially I have asian hair--this type of hair shows ALL mistakes! That is why it is such a relief to find someone who has the skills to understand the challenges of this type of hair.Based on the smiles and happy looks of other clients, you cant go wrong with the other stylists as well.
