Needed a start capacitor and had to go to the interwebs to get one instead of local.Edit: You replied saying youve never sold to the public however in 04-05 I was able to purchase a matching start motor capacitor for an older unit at your location. Maybe you made an exception at the time but I am not making an unfounded claim.Im sure you have a good reason for your policy. Thanks anyway.

Joe realized we needed a part and at 3:45 most places were already closed for the weekend. He made 2 stops found the part and we had cool AC by 5:00pm. We are very happy with the many years of service Cox has provided for us!

In 2016 I had Cox install my new AC. They did a fair job for the price, about average with their competition. Low and behold right after the warranty ran out I needed service. I called them starting at around 5:30pm on Monday 4/26/2021 and got put on eternal hold from their recorded phone service. Again and again I would call and I would hold for at least 10 minutes, still no answer. I tried several times and the same result! If they dont need the business it must be nice because I surely needed my AC working. The joke is on them though because I figured it out and it turned out my drain line was clogged, I used a vacuum, cleaned it out and its working again. Just think of how much money they would have made off me if they had answered. I guess I should be thanking them...

Previous homeowner has used them for years and I understand why. Tech was earlier than promised, they called and asked if it was alright to be early. Tech went to work promptly and service took about an hour. AC is running great. Excellent experience and I will use them in the future

Cox was great for 3 years of maintenance when there were no issues. Always on time and professional. I thought I had contracted with experts. I couldnt have been more disappointed when I began experiencing problems with my air conditioning after my tile roof began leaking and I installed an asphalt roof. I changed how much heat was accumulated in my house.My AC was set to 76 during the day and when I returned the temp read 80-81. On Cox first trip to my place they said I needed a new fan. Although they didnt have exactly the right fan they would install something that would work for the low price of $800.The problem continued so I called them again and they right away said the problem was that the wrong fan was installed and they could install the right one for $400 more and that would solve the problem.The problem persisted! After letting them know this, they sent a supervisor and tech who did a Thorough inspection. They said that installing the right fan was the correct answer, they acknowledged I still had a problem but did not know what the issue was! There was nothing they offered to do! Experts - I think not!!!!Since then Duke and 2 other companies have checked out the issue. When I told them the price of the fan and my experience they winced and said the price I was charged was far above the norm. These 3 experts all came to the same conclusion. The AC unit was working OK so it has to be a breach in the ducts or insufficient insulation - each offered this opinion without knowing what the other had said.I am now on a path to have the problem corrected with $1200 less to put towards the right solution. Before you make any major decisions about your AC, do some shopping and possibly add Duke into your due diligence.Cox is NOT a company I would recommend - they do NOT stand behind their work and they do not seem to have the expertise required to solve a relatively common problem.

They both suggested the possibility of repair of my non-functioning older A/C Unit, something that three other companies would not consider and instead insisted only on replacing with newer expensive equipment. Our A/C shut down completely today. I called Cox and was told they would have a repairman out in 30 minutes. I didnt believe it could be that fast. But it was. It was a simple problem, and Joe, the repairman, fixed the A/C very quickly and efficiently. He left, and the whole job from the time I placed the call to the time he left was about one hour. The A/C was back on, and everything was running fine. I was amazed. I thought for sure it would be at least until the next day before anyone could come out to fix it. Fortunately, they had someone already in the area who was able to come right over. Regardless, it was the BEST service I have ever had out of an air conditioning company since we moved into our home in 1991. Cox installed our new air conditioning system about a year and a half ago. I wish I had used this company sooner.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Cox Heating and Air Conditioning for over 20 years. They have always been excellent in service and responsiveness. I especially have to commend their technician, Eddie, who has serviced my heating and A/C units for several years. He always does such a thorough job and is exceptionally neat and organized. The pipes and connectors by my handlers looked a mess until Eddie was assigned to my job. He is always punctual and extremely trustworthy. But most importantly, he knows what he’s doing and knows how to fix any type of problem that arises. You can trust your heating and A/C service to Cox!

My AC died on me in the middle of the night, and I honestly had no clue what was wrong. I’ve been using Cox AC since they responded to an emergency call at my parents condo on the beach in Clearwater.’ Eddie was the tech who responded.He was honest and knowledgeable and Truly interested in making it right. I have requested him ever since to work on my own house. Trust him 100% with my system highly recommend him as my tech. He doesnt try and sell the add one but does care about his work and making sure the system is functioning at optimal levels. He does it right the first time .

Upon moving to Florida 4 years ago, we were looking for a reliable, quality Air Conditioning installation and service company. After using two other companies, I learned of Cox on nextdoor.com. I am very happy with the quality of their technicians and the courtesy of their scheduling people. We have since contracted with Cox to do maintenance checkups on our units twice per year.

Called for service when the repair man showed up told me we dont work in this complex Units are located in top room of building Inverness complex. Yet today I see a service man working in this building. Called main office and woman answering phone just said I dont know without even trying to ascertain reason a repair guy who showed up told me no. I thought she would at least take my phone # & check.Think guy was not physically fit to do the job. Whats with this business that they would send someone yet turn work down. Now I wonder if he just didnt want to do it.

My A/C unit was clogged up and dripping water out of the pan. I’ve used another company for a few years to keep service but due to the covid-19, I tried to contact them to help me out. No answer on any of there phone numbers. Just a generic message. Nothing about if they are out of business or temporary closed. Their website had no info about whether they were open or not. After two days of no call backs I had enough.So I called Cox and they sent “Barney #25” out for a service call. He did a fast clean professional job of servicing my ac unit. 5 Stars***** to Cox H & C. You earned a new customer as I will never seek to use the previous company or any other but Cox. The price you gave me on the phone was spot on and honest checkup of my A/C system. Did not try to add any unnecessary work to charge more money. We were very happy with the complete system they put in at a reasonable price. Called and asked if they could reduce the air flow coming out of the registers. Was told that it was possible to change the speed of the motor. I checked and the motor had only one speed I thought but it is a 3 speed motor and the serviceman said he changed it to the second speed. still to much air. Will call to solve the problem.

Im a property manager that manages over 2,000 units and one on my units had the A/C go out over night and needs service immediately. My normal person can not get to it so I called Cox Heating & Air Conditioning to add another vendor to my list and the service technician/owner was more concerned about how he was going to get paid then helping my tenants who are in their 60s out. I advised him that my office could do a check over the phone for him on Monday or we could have a check cut for him but that wasnt good enough.Maybe I caught him on a bad day not sure but he didnt seem interested in my business so I wasnt interested in his.

I would highly recommend Cox. They replaced our AC ducts and were terrific. Their pricing was fair, the team that worked on our house - Joe & Corey - were knowledgeable, diligent, timely, cleaned up beautifully and nice guys. We will continue to use Cox for future work.

I had a mini split installed in my garage, and the process was the easiest and most pleasant experience with a contractor to date. The unit installed works efficiently and without issue. Couldn’t be happier. I will be switching providers for my HVAC to Cox from now on.

Our system is very old and they could have gotten away with selling us a brand new system but they didnt. All they said was that we needed more freon. Im very thankful for their honesty

I had technician Eddie come to my home and assist me with the operation of my Cor thermostat on our new Carrier A/C unit. He was super knowledgeable with these units and explained everything and showed me how to operate it perfectly. He was on time with booties and a smile. Quality pays for itself. I hired them to replace AC unit in Mission Hills condo, where they have a long standing relationship. The previous owner used them, so I followed up with Cox.I was quoted a price of 4600$to replace unit. I paid in full.The installers were there less than 2 hours. The unit was flipped out in less than 2 hours and I was told it would be half a day installation. Had to have service several times in first 90 days. Then when heat was turned on, no heat. This was suppose to be a brand new unit. New unit had to have a part ordered for us to have heat.Very unhappy with their service and products. Buyer beware. This company may have been in business for over 50 years, but there service needs to be better.

Ive had a service contract with Cox for 10 plus years after they installed a new A/C system and they have always been extremely responsive, honest and very interested in my satisfaction. I only wish other businesses had the same concern for their customers satisfaction. I called with my A/C issue after-hours and left a non-urgent service request and Cox had a technician out the next morning. A part was ordered and we had A/C the same day the part came in. Amazing service. Also, Pat the Service Manager is outstanding. Hes first class guy that focuses on doing the right. I dont know much about the workings of an A/C system, so having a trusted company do the work is really important to me.

When I had a mechanical issue that covered the part but was just outside the time limit to cover the labor they took care of me. Thats why I use Cox for regular maintenance and my heating and cooling needs.

Last evening, the air conditioner in our parents condo stopped working. We called, and after speaking with the answering service as it was after 6p.m., we were contacted by Andrew, a technician within 10 minutes. After speaking with Andrew, we decided to have someone come the next morning.Within 15 minutes after speaking with Andrew, Paula called to schedule an appointment for 8-8:30 a.m. the next morning. I was relieved to know someone would be there first thing in the morning!My parents said the technician arrived before 8:30 and apologized stating he would have arrived earlier had it not been for traffic. He had the issue figured out and resolved within an hour!I cannot thank Cox enough for their courteous, expedited service, and for their professional, courteous staff!

Since purchasing my new ac unit from Cox Heating & Air Conditioning almost 3 years ago, I have been very pleased with their service - both with the new installation and several annual maintenance service appointments. For my recent annual maintenance service, they were very helpful with scheduling an appointment within my limited available time. I purchased a new AC unit from Cox a few years ago and used them for my annual service and was pleased with everything. Then they sent a technician named Eddie who I thought was the rudest and most disrespectful person Id ever encountered in my entire life until I called the office and talked to the rude old bat who answers the phone and she was even worse. These two not only have no respect for their customers, but the genuinely seem to harbor deep personal animosity and even hatred towards them. Oh well. You lost a long time customer and I wont be back. Ever.

Our AC unit was going out and needed to be replaced. We received quotes from multiple companies and decided to go with Cox. At the time of the quote we were impressed with the professionalism of the gentleman as well as the products that they offered. The day of install went smoothly and the guys went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend them!

Cox was hired to install the AC units in a brand new custom home. The original design per discussions with builder and Cox were to use split the units to cover each side of the house. Somewhere along the lines Cox changed the design instead running downstairs from a unit in the attic on the south side of the house and running the upstairs from a unit in the attic on the north side of the house. So ducts are running by each other to reach the other end of the house when a unit sits on that side. I am not sure why they made the change but the end result has been that several of our down stairs room on the north side of the house (run by the south end attic unit) were getting very little volumes of air. Clearly this was a very poor HVAC design. They claim that is how other houses do it. But this isnt another house. Our house is very open so trying to control up and down doesnt make sense. Now they are trying to use dampers and additional thermostats to control airflow, all the while billing the builder for their own mistake. This new solution included securing wires to the walls of the brand new custom built house. I think the service guys who work for Cox are nice and have been friendly however working with the company as a whole and getting them to take ownership of their mistake has been interminable. They asked me for more money for better AC units, they sold me on the value and I paid without question. But now the time comes for them to make things right and they want more money and have yet to accept accountability for their mistake. If I was building again there is no chance I would use Cox.

Absolutely horrible! We called the company and asked about their services. A woman on the phone told us that the first ten minutes it would be $5 and after 30 minutes it would be $35. It sounded good enough. The man came in like he hated himself, asked where the AC was and went straight to it. When he came back in the house, five minutes later, he just told us how much it would cost for the AC to be fixed ($400) and didnt elaborate at all for what the problem was. We told him that we would think about it and immediately he got angry and said, Okay. I just have to collect my money which is $100. We stood there surprised and told him what the woman had told us on the phone. Since he raised his voice at us a moment later, we just gave him the money and he left. We called another company and we got the AC fixed for $200. Very disappointed, and the man was very rude.

Very satisfied. First time customers. AC went out night before. I called this company at 8am and AC was repaired before 2pm. Repairman Tommy diagnosed and repaired system in about an hour. Costveas very reasonable under $200

I called Cox Air early on a weekday after my air went out over night. They scheduled the appointment quickly and gave me a good estimate as to when they would be able to have someone out. The tech, Eric, arrived right on time, and got right to work. He had the problem figured out in 10 minutes, and repaired in 15. After thoroughly checking all the other components of the system, he was able to take my credit card payment right from his truck. I am very pleased with the quality of service and honesty provided.

Our air went out over the weekend and I was referred from a friend to call Cox a/c. I placed a call to there on call service department and they returned it very promptly. The tech Tommy arrived shortly after and diagnosed the issue, he had the part on his truck and was in and out of my home with in an hour. We were back to having our a/c in this hot miserable summer. I give Cox a/c two thumbs up and would highly recommend them.

Employer should not be rude, when a potential customer is calling looking for a part. Being told nope, find someone else i am not selling it to you is not good customer service.

Called them in a pinch, they sent a great man named Tommy who took care of making sure our a/c was up to snuff. In and out in under an hour, and my a/c is blowing cold again!! Great work and better personnel!Thanks Cox Heating and Air!!Well, a year after moving in to our house the heat pump, now over 20 years old, decided to stop working. I chose Cox to replace the entire hvac system and boy did they not disappoint. They showed up when they said they would and they completed and tested our system in just a few hours. We couldnt be more please with the level of professionalism and service we received from all who were involved in taking care of us.

Great service. The tech showed up early for my repair. After he completed it he explained exactly what he had to do to complete the repair. He was very friendly and knowledgable.

Very professional, helpful and reasonable. I have been using these guys since I moved to Dunedin 1.5 years ago. Every one of the guys is friendly and does what he can do keep costs to a minimum. Im very pleased to have found them on the first try... until I needed them over the New Years Eve weekend. Called Friday before and Monday before, returned my call on Thursday after another vendor came on the same day that I called the day before. It wasnt an emergency, I just had to replace buckets of water over their 6 day weekend, but enough to show me that I cant rely on them to respond in a timely manner unless I cry wolf. - UPDATE - to be fair they have tried to rectify their answering service issues and called me to straighten things out.

Vehicle #153 has road rage, speeds and got so close to my vehicle I couldn’t see any of his front bumper. If I had hit the brakes he would hit me easily. Not okay for employees to behave this was in a company van. Very unprofessional.

Cox Heating and Air Conditioning found and replaced the thermostat for my home HVAC unit. The technician was very competent, located the problem quickly, and replaced the unit with one from his truck.I paid $240 for a non-programmable unit and then found the identical thermostat on Amazon for $40 - a markup of 500%. I called the Cox supervisor, Pat, and objected to such a high markup. He replied that Coxs thermostats were industrial quality, unlike what you buy on Amazon. Hogwash, I was just gouged. BEWARE WHEN YOU BUY PARTS FROM COX!

Fixed my system on a Saturday night to make sure my family was comfortable! Zac and the guys at Cox are extremely professional and more importantly HONEST! Rare these days!

The tech forgot to turn the compressor on from the electric panel. If we had not discovered the open panel box, we would have required another service call on a Saturday to correct the problem. We turned the breaker on

A/C went out in the middle of the night. I called before 7 and the gentleman who answered the phone said that if I could wait one hour until they opened they would call me back, if not they would be out. They called back exactly at 8am. The technician was there at 9:30, very friendly and he physically showed me what the problem was and explained exactly what happened. He fixed it and offered to fully service the unit while he was there and told me the price up front. Very fair and honest. Will use them again for sure......B/T/W Tiffany, blaming the A/C company for rodents around your house, really ???? How about making sure their is no food on your garbage that may fix things !!! And Julianna, I call fake news on your dealings with the Cox technician.

Called Cox Sunday night 7/2 when A/C stopped. Service Tech returned my call in 15-20 minutes said he would was taking care of other customers but would try to have office schedule service Monday morning. Office called at 8 A.M. and said a technician was on the way. The technicians name was Tommy and he was outstanding friendly and knowledgable. He found the problem within a few minutes and checked the system for any other issues.He answered all my dumb question in an easy to understand way.Cox installed this Carrier system in 11/2004 and it has ran problem free. My parents used Cox for two A/C units replaced years ago and swear by their reliabilty.Great service & super techs. Tommy is a fine example of an honest hard working technician that really knows his job. Thank you very much for a cool fix to a very hot problem.

I have used Cox in the past and been happy with the service. But this weekend, they outdid themselves. I arrived home on a friday evening of Memorial Day weekend to find my condo at 84 degrees and my AC not cooling. I called Cox and they promised to call me Sat. morning. They called early and gave me a time window, showed up early (in a good mood) and had it up and running in less than an hour. Rates were very reasonable and my technician was very pleasant and cordial. Thank you Cox Air Conditioning for saving my holiday weekend!

All I have to say is WOW! The team at Cox absolutely Rocks! When my A/C went out I was certain it was going to be a disaster to have it replaced, not to mention a huge expense. I was definitely proven wrong here.The speed, precision, and quality of work performed by the team at Cox air was impressive to watch and the results are indeed COOL! Everyone you speak to at the company seems to be an expert at HVAC and genuinely cares are getting you the right solution, not necessarily to most expensive. Choosing a service provider you can trust is most important to me, Cox Air is the best in the business as far as Im concerned.

This company is getting greedier & worse as years go by, they could care less about the working class trying to get by in this world. They like u when taking ur money for a new unit they r to warranty buutt..now comes the issue for a part under warranty, they the part is covered but yet charged $600 to put it in, this was labor for less than 3 hrs, r they kidding? ? This is 3 times a nurses salary who is trying to save lives,vto relieve someone of pain, this is twice the amt a person working on ur vehicle, this is what a doctor makes that has gone to school for over 8 yrs, whom has to has to be sure all things perfect. & on top of this I looked up the salary of HVAC techs, supposedly make around $21, most most was $50, so how the hell do u legitimize the overcharges here!! Its criminal

After many years with a local/national Air Conditioning company, which had failed over the years, I tried out Cox Air Conditioning with a estimate for a new Carrier system. Thanks to Kerri Ann, I got and estimate THOUSANDS less than the prior National company who I had been with for years and yes for exactly the same thing. Then the real test, the install. Steven, Terrell, Eddie installed the system in one day and removed the old one. Carrier 18VS Heatpump works perfectly! No problems. No BS! Just great people!

Excellent service and did a great job. Would highly recommend them to friends and family.
