After completing my fourth, full marathon, I was ready for something different. I wanted something that was fulfilling, challenging and a way to push my body in ways I had never done so before. I started working out at Queen City Barbell in January and immediately knew this place was going to push and change my body. The gym is never crowded and Todd always gives you his utmost attention as if no one else was there. After focusing on running for years, I had not used a barbell, benched or seriously lifted since high school. This is a gym that is truly judgement free and a place that openly accepts all skill levels. In just six months, my body was able to lift and move in ways that I never thought it was capable of. The best asset to this gym is Todd. He’s the man. Todd knows exactly what he is talking about and knows how to keep new and experienced lifters motivated yet safe. If you are serious about your health and trying something new or growing your athletic ability… then you have definitely come to the right place. Queen City Barbell is worth every penny and I wish there was more than one. It is a true gem in Cincinnati!
I had never touched a barbell until five months ago, I had been a member at the Y and was curious about lifting so I tried a few barbell lifts on my own and quickly realized I had no Idea what I was doing so I started looking for a gym with a focus on weightlifting and thats how I found Todd at QCB. I am so thankful for him! Todd worked with me individually (as he does for each member) to create a plan to help me reach my goals. I love that everyday Todd already has the workout planned for me-- I dont have to think about anything, I just do the workout that he made specifically for me! If you are interested in lifting but dont know where to start, this is totally the gym for you!
I have been training at Queen City Barbell with Todd for over a year now. The experience has been fantastic. I started with no previous training or experience, and Todd has guided me every step of the way, from being completely out of shape, to stronger and faster than I have ever been. The process has been challenging but completely manageable, and one of the most rewarding things I have ever done for myself. The atmosphere in the gym is perfect, and Todd is great about being motivating without being overbearing. This makes every workout at Queen City Barbell a great way to relieve stress. If anyone is considering giving training a try, I highly recommend coming in to talk with Todd!
New to the Cincinnati area and looking for a personalized, local gym to work out in and meet some new people, QCB was all of that and more! Todd delivers great programming and a serious workout that will challenge you no matter where youre starting at athletically. All the equipment, programming, and coaching is in place to help you improve and achieve your goals as long as you bring a good work ethic and a willingness to be coached!
This place is awesome. Todd is an awesome trainer who really takes the time to help us all meet our workout goals. The workouts all include a warm up period, then barbell or Olympic lifts, then a high intensity stamina portion, and stretching to wrap it up. I started with the free first week of training over a year ago and now Im hooked. Great gym
My husband had been working out at QCB for well over a year before I finally caved to his repeated attempts to get me to try it out. I had never considered myself athletic, and the idea of weightlifting with a personal trainer was intimidating. I went from working out 0 days a week, to working out 4 days a week, and have sustained it for 9 months with gains in strength and endurance that I never thought I’d be able to achieve. I’m a mom of 4, and I finally feel like I’m taking back my body and getting stronger than I ever was before kids. The accountability to one person has been key for me, and the familiar friendly faces of Todd’s other clients make it feel like you’re among friends and not lost in the shuffle of a big class or mega-gym. Todd’s experience, his thoughtfully crafted comprehensive workouts, and his no-nonsense attitude will definitely benefit anyone who is motivated by a desire to take ownership of their fitness.
If you simply want to work out under the eye of a professional no-BS trainer, you like it raw, you’re looking for a spacious gym and maybe you are a bit of sociopath not excited by the prospect of collective sweating in the crossfit box – this place is for you. Very much personalized and non-conventional model of the gym. Plus – there are hardly any good alternatives in the neighborhood.
Man.... words cant explain of how proud I am from putting all my time and dedication to this weight loss journey. All thanks to my brother/personal trainer Todd because he guided me to achieve my goals and pushing myself to the limit no matter how hard the workouts were. All that guidance that he gave me when it came to a diet plan or whatever, I applied it to myself. That led me to lose almost 20 pounds in 2 and a half months. I highly recommend anyone who is willing to put in the hard work to achieve their goals to come to Queen City Barbell. Its worth your money and time, trust me. Todd will help you to the fullest and he will push you to the limit but it is worth it.
Queen City Barbell is an awesome place to go if you are looking to get stronger, faster, and lift with proper form! Since working with Todd, a shoulder injury that I had doesnt seem to bother me anymore. This is a great place for anyone to workout at but I highly recommend it if you are interested in or already in the military or first responder profession.
Great Gym for all of your training needs with a no-nonsense approach. Todd is running a great operation and has as many heavy things you need to push your body and help you to achieve peak performance. Definitely check it out and do something different than your run of the mill gym or Cross Fit!
Amazing knowledgeable trainer (Todd) who resolved my knee and back problems while helping me get a lot stronger and more flexible, diverse surprising and fun workouts, great equipment, really nice friendly client base, terrific value, good location. Perfect for anyone who needs to build strength, improve mobility (including many of us with lingering joint pain), broaden their range of workout activities, or for anyone whos tired of making up their own workouts and wants some expert guidance. Cant recommend highly enough.
The thought of getting back in shape for a woman can be intimidating, specifically when thinking about the atmosphere of mainstream, big-box gyms. Upon my first meeting with Todd, I knew immediately that I was in the right hands. My workouts were basic, albeit tough for me, and were a great combination of weights and cardio. Todd knows how to keep you engaged, while staying positive and working towards the results that youre aiming for. A year later, I am proud of my results, and cannot imagine going anywhere else.
Todd has provided some of the most thorough training Ive had to date. He tailors training to your specific needs, goals and abilities with more emphasis on proper form and safety than Ive experienced anywhere else. Its apparent hes in the business because he really wants to be. If your looking for a new gym or a new approach or even just looking to start physical training for your first time ever I highly recommend QCBB. One last thing that may be important to some people...there is no ego flying around this gym, its a very approachable and comfortable place to workout.
Ive been a member of Queen City Barbell for one month. Its a complete paradigm shift from group fitness classes or a big box gym. The intro meeting is about your fitness goals, nutrition planning, and what you want to achieve. Combine this with an approach that centers around no frills, one on one training, and you have a great environment for results. Also, no contracts of any sort which is awesome. This is the best investment Ive ever made in my health.
I met Todd in September 2017, while researching different personal training options. I was scheduled to have ankle surgery in December 2017, and wanted to have something lined up for when I was recovered. Before even committing to QCB, Todd was responsive, attentive, and understanding to my restrictions and needs. He followed up with me before and after my surgery, sending links and advice on how to make the most of my recovery.Fully recovered, and two years later, I am working out 4-5 days a week, with no restrictions. Ive reached multiple goals both in and out of the gym, due to the dedication and support QCB has given me. Ive even lost 20+ lbs with the nutritional guidance Todd has provided.I highly recommend QCB to anyone looking for a consistent, challenging, and fun personal training experience.
I found Queen City Barbell while searching for a gym that would help me to properly prepare for the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course in the U.S. Army. I talked with Todd about the timeframe that I had to prepare, and he was able to create a dynamic program for me. I gained strength, increased mobility and endurance, as well as working on preventative excersizes for bad joints that plague people in my situation. I was very pleased with the results we were able to achieve in such a short period of time, and I can not recommend enough for any other combat athletes to give Todd a call.
As someone who hates and I mean HATES to work out it has been super hard for me to find a good way/ place to work out. That is until I found Todd and QCB. Todd is super engaged and knowledgable and the atmosphere is never anything but positive. I also appreciate that he always works with me to reach my personal goals (i.e. I prefer to work on cardiovascular fitness as opposed to weight lifting). Todd is also incredibly fair price wise, I have done all the big club and gym memberships and they were all more expensive and I never went. If youre looking for a new place to work on whatever fitness goals you may have Queen City Barbell is definitely the way to go!
I cannot recommend Queen City Barbell enough--Todd knows his stuff and gave me a bunch of actionable suggestions on how to improve my deadlift and squat form. Each hour workout is jam packed with a barbell lift (squat/deadlift/bench/overhead press, etc), a ton of accessory lifts, and even some cardio so each session feels like a solid day at the gym without pushing yourself to the absolute extreme.Todd is also just generally a great guy and makes powerlifting really accessible--would highly recommend him to anyone with any level of lifting experience!
This is a great gym, and Todd is a great trainer if you need one. He can modify workouts to whatever your goals are. Additionally, the gym has bumper plates which is great when doing certain lifts so you can just drop the weights. If you are out of shape or in shape this is a great gym for you. Todd can get you in shape or improve your overall fitness to get you where you want to be.
Todd got me in better shape in 6 months (still a current client, too) than training by myself for 2 years in college. Highly recommend. A++
Queen City Barbell changed my life. Todd is extremely knowledgeable and it shows in the type of workouts he has you do. No two days are ever the same and they are tailored to your needs. Todd is motivating, encouraging, and has helped me reach fitness levels I never dreamed possible. Not only do I enjoy fitness now, but it has become one of my biggest passions. No matter what’s happened in a day, coming to QCB allows any outside stress to fall away... it’s a great environment and you can tell that your victories are also Todd’s victories. Do yourself a favor and join this gym ASAP. You’ll thank me later 😊
This is by and far the best gym Ive been to. Todd is always very welcoming, motivating (without being pushy or in your face) and has been a great trainer; always pushing me to the limit of what I can physically do.The facility is a real, no B.S. gym. it has all the equipment you need and none of the crap you dont. The equipment is high quality and Made in the U.S.A. Its also in a location that is very easy to get to, which makes it perfect for my crazy schedule. The cherry on top is that QCB is very veteran and first responder friendly. As a former Marine whos married to a police officer, I appreciate everything that they offer. From programs to get the future fighting force of America in shape and ready for that first day of boot camp, to discounted prices for first responders and vets like my wife and I.Its refreshing to find a gym that isnt caught up in all the fad diets and workouts and focuses on you and your goals. If I could rate QCB 6 stars out of 5 I would. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to get or stay fit.
I have been a member for over a year now and cant imagine going back to a Globo type gym or Crossfit Box. The atmosphere is exactly what every gym should strive for; this is not a country club gym! The workout program has made a major boost in my mountain bike riding/racing which was the goal from day one. Five stars without question!
I came to Todd after breaking my back & foot and tearing muscle in my knee several years ago. Id seen another trainer first that made my injuries worse, so I was skeptical of my abilities and expected to get hurt again. I was out of shape and starting to beat myself up mentally for not being able to do things Id been able to before. Fortunately, Todd is just the right amount of laid back and encouraging and hes great at tailoring routines for your needs. Im now able run, lift and ride horses again like my injuries never happened. Coming to QCB was the best thing Ive ever done for myself. Going on 32, Im stronger and healthier physically than Ive ever been in my life. Do yourself a favor and pick this gym.
Its the end of December 2017 and I go to put on my suit pants that I always wear to the Xmas lunch. Problem is they dont fit I cant button or zip them and my stomach is hanging over the waist band.I stepped on the scale and I was more than 20 lbs over my normal weight I knew then I had to start exercising again and eating better. So the first week of January a friend takes me to Queen City Barbell to meet Todd Siegel and go thru a trial run at the gym. After a one hour session I was hooked and havent looked back since. Todd put me on a weightlifting program to increase total body strength and build stamina. By the end of February I dropped all the xtra weight and was starting to show pretty good muscle defintion. During the first 60 days we also dialed in a nutrition plan to maximize weight loss and maximize muscle growth. By early April Im flat out ripped especially in the abs and biceps. I constantly get compliments on the muscle definition and am repeatedly told my vertical jump is insane ( I play sand volleyball ) Im also 46 years old.IF You have the determination and want to be stronger and healthier THEN Queen City Barbell Plus Todd Siegel will Equal results. Come See us at QCB for the proof !!!
I have been going to QCB for a little over 7 months now. I could not be happier with my experience at the gym with Todd, and the programs that he has cycled me though thus far. I have been strength training and working on my over all fitness over the last 15+ years of my life in various capacities. Like some people I have had my ups and my downs with my overall fitness level.Over the years I have read many books, searched the internet, as well as participated in many lifting programs administered by coaches, and collegiate strength trainers in my quest for fitness. I have found Todd to be very well versed, in not just the what, but the how, and why of the various strength training, fitness, and nutrition theories out there.I really enjoy being able to show up to the gym and get right into the workout with the program for that day already being laid out. This allows me to get into the gym and be as efficient with my time as possible. No waiting for a station to open up, or me searching for the different exercises on my phone for the program that I am working on. Its great to have Todd right at my side so I can ask whats next, he can explain/correct my form, as well as him to kick me in the butt every once in a while when I need it.I have also found a lot of value in his stamina part of the training session. In the past when I would have a hard strength training workout, I would often justify omitting the cardio portion of the workout. But, having Todd around to hold me accountable ensures that there are no skip days.My only regret is that I did not find the gym sooner. Not only is Todd a great knowledgable coach that has me feeling great, hes also a great guy to be around. My advice to you would be to give QCB a try.
Great workouts! Great vibe! Been a client for over 3 years and love it!!
Queen City Barbell is by far the best gym Ive belonged to for a variety of reasons. I have now trained with Todd for two years and can say Id never go anywhere else. Having had a background in collegiate sports, my expectations were high for a personal trainer -- over the last two years Todd has stayed with me in my journey to pursue a career in law enforcement. As a result of his program I sailed through physical aspects of training. QCB prepared me for every challenge training demanded and MORE leaving me feeling STRONG!The best part is that at QCB Todd will fine tune a workout program to fit your personal fitness goals/needs while providing you nutritional guidance to ensure maximum gain and satisfaction. If youre looking for a personal training gym, QCB is the place. Invest in yourself!
