I have been taking my cars here for 2 decades and will never ever let anyone else touch it. Eddy and Julio has always taken good care of my vehicles. Any little discrepancy, I let them know and they take care of it right away. My car is still sitting at the shop as Im writing this, its been sitting there for the last 9 months completed and ready to pick up. Ive been traveling a bit and Eddy the owner asks me When are you picking up your car? I say Ill come grab it when I sell or trade. He say OK no worries. What a great guy, what a great place, what a great staff. I will gladly spend my money here, they deserve it.

Beware! Richards is scamming customers in all sorts of ways. Hopefully, someone will investigate and work on shutting their shops down. They have two shops one on Lawrence and the other on grand street.Poor customer service at Richards body shop when it has anything to do with addressing issues/concerns directly related to your vehicle that they are in possession of:This place needs to be investigated for fraud and scams to both customers and insurance companies! Richards auto body shop is preying on its customers!Richards has poor quality body work/paint job/mechanics.Richards does not follow through with promised dates of when the car is fixed and ready to be picked upRichards has a lack of communication and miscommunication with customers regarding fees and payments (their prices change with almost every other call you make to follow up)Please stay away from this auto body shop and read carefully through reviews and issues other customers have had and experienced at Richards auto body shop.Richards in the end has kept customers vehicles hostage which is what happened to me. Richards will hold on to your car and rack up fees making it impossible to get your car back unless you pay hefty fines they decide on like administrative fees, storage fees, paperwork fees and additional fees etc. (they will make up fees). Richards will give you an amount to pay in order to get your car back even though they havent serviced your car for repairs. I was scammed by Richards they towed my car, charged me ridiculous fees up to 3,000.00 to get it back they said it was daily storage fees because I didnt pick up my car however they were refusing to let me pick it up and blocked in my car with other cars within their garage. I was calling daily and the price just went higher and higher. I never asked them to service my car but they went ahead and started buying parts and then wanted to charge me for them. You cant even ask for a quote cause to them that means its a done deal.The owner is Eddie and he is obviously a business man looking to make a profit off others misfortunes. Please read others reviews. Dont do business at Richards they will steal your money!

Richards has been a pleasure to deal with. They were quick to pick up the car and worked with my insurance company. Right now my car is in the middle of getting fixed. It’s been there for about a month, will update this review once the work is done.

Had to replace the Front bumper I went to the shop and got the car back fixed but as you can see fresh coffee everywhere in the car and the plastic piece inside handle broke, I went back they fixed both, one more day and the front bumper popped out I went back they fixed it but I got ripped chair as you can see in the picture

Took my car there for some body work and paint and it came back better than brand new!

Ive been a customer of Richards Body Shop for years. They communicate well with their customers, coordinate on your behalf to insurances, and have great prices. I had a deep scratch and a small dent on my door that was unrelated to the insurance claim I had. I had previously received a quote from another shop and Richards beat that price by more than half! The only suggestion I would make to someone using this shop is to check the work they did and ensure ALL your parts are put back together correctly. They missed an insert in between the hood and windshield. When I pointed that out, they apologized and ordered the part right in front of me and stated they will install it for free when the part arrives. Its a small inconvenience, but it didnt sour my experience since they took responsibility for it. They also detailed the car, which was AWESOME!Also, no idea who Richard is lol. Never met anyone there named Richard.

Fantastic job! Finished outcome looks like it is a brand new car. Recommended as they are very friendly staff to work with as well.

Go elsewhere.. Simple touch up. 3-4 day job. Would call daily for update and they keep saying almost ready. Until 12 days later day I went in person to find out car hasn’t moved from the car I left it on the street. Hasn’t been touched . Nothing was done. I complained about how I’m using a rental this whole time to find out nothing has been done. Also no sort of apology or make up. Not even oh sorry let’s split the car rental for those two weeks we didn’t do sht

This place is amazing! Somebody hit my bumper and I needed a collision repair. Gaby was SO helpful every step of the way. It was so convenient to text her for updates, and she was always quick to respond with information. When my car was ready, I wasnt able to get a ride to pick it up, and they drove it out to my home and dropped it off! The work was beautiful and the inside of my car was SO CLEAN-which was a really nice surprise. Life during this pandemic is really challenging, and it was so helpful to have someone I could count on working on my car. Thanks guys!!!!

The paint is chipping door is not on straight and damage added to my car that was never fixed. If you want your car fixed after a wreck take it to Gold Coast on goose island on division.

Take my car in for a simple bumper replacement, end up with a check engine light on and battery issues when leaving after repair. Of course its not their fault or problem. Fairly standard.Be careful when going there you might end up with more damage then you initially had. Wish I never went there.

This place goes above and beyond. Unfortunately I have had bad luck with my car. This place offers free pick up and delivery. They handle all the insurance stuff while not making me bother with all that. They also were sensitive to COVID 19 issues when they sanitized my car after the repairs! I was more then happy with this repair facility and would highly recommend them to anyone with accident or mechanical repairs!

I won’t go anywhere else for my Subaru, Nahn is extremely professional and made the entire process stress free and easy! My car looks as good as new every time. I’ve gone here several times for body work when my car got in a hit and run and when I needed my bumper replaced, each time it’s always been a great experience! The time estimates they gave me for the fix were accurate and my car was in and out of there in no time, even when my whole passenger side needed replaced they did it within a week. Even had my passenger side mirror break and bought the part online and had them install it but when it came time to pay they told me it was on the house!! You can’t get better service than that.

Called them for an estimate only on a fender bender. Guy showed up and said he needed to take it in for further inspection, he called a tow truck and handed me some paperwork. I notice the paperwork authorized repairs so I noted to him I only wanted an estimate and I did not sign that part of the paper.Story kinda-short; they kept my car for over a week while I kept calling them asking for an update, one day I call them and they tell me the parts wont be there for a couple days??? I tell them I only wanted an estimate and demanded my vehicle back, they refused because the car is in storage and I would have to pay a daily storage fee.Kept calling and they tell me I had authorized the repair with the paperwork I signed. I send them a picture of the field I did not sign in the contract and they just shrug it off.I show up personally on a Monday and they tell me car is being fixed, I demand they stop repairs so they send me up to their second floor. They have the bumper painted and the car disassembled so I have no choice but to wait for them to install the new bumper... Shady business practices, avoid this place at all costs.

I was referred to Richards body shop for an estimate on a car I had purchased in the beginning of the month of September 2017. I had decided to take in the vehicle to be inspected because of a rattling noise that had begun in what I believed was the axles of the car, 2 weeks after signing a lease agreement.The mechanic was very generous and willing to help me and my situation in evaluating the car. They were all very busy midday and insisted in taking care of me the minute I walked into the shop.As soon as the head mechanic saw the vehicle, he knew and made sure to tell me that I had indeed purchased a lemon. They proceeded to raise the vehicle and surely enough, there was extensive flood damage covering the entire bottom of the car with the exception of newer pieces that were added to make the car run. The mechanic was helpful in showing me how very different the pieces were and which ones were, basically, falling apart. I was later instructed to take pictures of the rust damage which was not visible on the exterior of the car, but were extremely clear when the car was raised.The mechanic knew the car was no good and his expertise turned out correct. Upon further review of the car, the damage extended above the headrests and had eventually brought the case to the State Attorneys Office of Consumer Fraud. My case was fool-proof and the dealer eventually settled and voided the contract. All of this could not have been possible without the help of Richards Body Shop and their kindness to help look at my car, review the car, and even write the estimate ALL WITHIN THE DAY. A definite 5 FIVE STAR REVIEW and would/will recommend to anyone who is in need of car body repair.THANK YOU!!

I had a phenomenal experience at Richards Body Shop. My BMW was in a minor accident and needed a new bumper. Richards was able to pick it up the following morning from my office and even offered me a ride. They worked closely with my insurance company so I didnt have to deal with it. They gave me an estimate of when it would be ready and it was indeed ready on time. They even were willing to drop the car off at my home or office. I have recommended many friends to Richards and will continue to use them for any and all of my body shop needs. Id highly recommend them.

I am just picking up my Subaru Outback after a hit and run In a busy Chicago street. Richard’s body shop took care of everything and the car looks great! I am very grateful for their work and how easy they made everything for me. Specially David K. he helped with the insurance, the temporary car rental, etc. They did a great job!

I really held off on writing a review..but I can’t anymore. My apartment was getting work done on the roof, when a piece of concrete hit my car, leaving ~quarter sized hole in the roof and deep scratches above the driver side door. I met with someone from Richards, and they immediately took my car. They were terrible with updates, but after 2 weeks, I got the car back. They had done a fine job on the hole in the roof but the molding along my roof( that they would have had to tape to paint the roof) looked deformed and discolored. There was also a deep scratch above the door that was not fixed. It took me a few weeks to have time to take my car back, but I took it back to show them, where I was assured they’d fix both issues. A week later when I came back for the actual repairs, I was told that the molding wasn’t their fault at all - it was the weather. Even though half of my car is covered when parked, and it looked fine prior to giving them my car. We settled on them saying they’ll see if they can get my insurance to pay for it. We had a misunderstanding originally with the scratch that was left, but once we were on the same page, they did agree that it should have been fixed with the initial repairs. I had to make an appointment to come back the next week where they’d fix my door and thankfully, my insurance agreed to pay for the molding. I dropped my car off to get the repairs finally, left to go about my day. They had my car from 8-4. When I went to get in my car (scratch was gone, new molding), I noticed that my front passenger tire was at 10 PSI. The main guy that I’ve been working with noticed I was looking at my car and came out, and said he’d drive it (on the 10 psi tire!!) to their mechanic around the block. He said “oh it probably got a nail when we drove it through the alley”. The mechanics immediately looked at it and found the nail on the shoulder of the tire. Both mechanics said it can’t be patched, one said it’s not safe to drive. I went to get the man in charge, came back to other people saying “oh we will plug it and it’s fine and safe”. I expressed my concerns but they kept saying it’s safe. I told them I was driving straight to firestone where I got the tires to look at it. As soon as Firestone looked at it, they said it is 100% not safe and they told me I should not drive with this tire on my car. So I am now after bringing my car to Richards numerous times, I am having to pay to get a new tire on my car, because while they were driving it, they got a nail in my tire. This has been an incredibly annoying experience taking time to continuously bring my car back, and now spend the time and money to get a new tire. But they are also just not friendly and treated me as if I know nothing about cars.

This shop goes above and beyond what you expect. Handled it all from start to finish. My car looks like brand new and it was done real quick too. Highly recommend this place for your car needs. 100 percent satisfied

I will only deal with the best and they are it. Always have my work done here and it is perfect every time. Work quality is excellent and customer service is top notch. They pick up and deliver my vehicle when I need it and have sent their tow service to me to help me out in a jam. I send every one I know to them and have heard nothing but good things. Highly recommend. Anything but Richards is second best.

Richards is great! From the time I brought in my car, they were nice and courteous. They dealt with the insurance and got the car back to me very quickly looking brand new. I have since brought my car back for a few more repairs as well as detailing and could not be happier with the service and end result.

A unique facility set back in the days of yesterday. The inside of the body shop is absolutely beautiful it appears to be an old automobile car dealership with a classy showroom. Possibly a Chrysler dealer. The second level has its own car elevator and special repair stations. The waiting room is tremendous with a beautiful large screen television coffee, tea and soft drinks to refresh you if one chooses to wait. The ladys s at the main service counter are very professional knowledgeable and go out of their way to satisfy the needs of the guest. The mechanics are exceptional and work very carefully to ensure the repair and or body work is done correctly. Eddy the owner is very hands on and keeps close supervision on aspects of the business and is available to the customer to assist in any fashion. If Eddy is at a different location the staff will contact him and he will within twenty four hours connect with you. A rare automobile repair business that acctually puts the customer first. Attend!!

Theyre amazing. They sent a tow truck out on a Sunday Morning not only to tow my car, but drove me to get my rental car. Ive worked with them in the past and they do excellent work. They are extremely attentive to detail and kept me in the loop every step of the way during repair. I would highly recommend Richards.

A truck smashed into the front fender and headlight of my car. Richards body shop fixed and painted it. They made it look like nothing ever happened. The work was done professionally and quickly. I am super pleased with is body shop. My Acura looks like brand new after getting damaged on a stone post. They were super friendly too and fixed a scratch not related to the post incident. Office girls were nice as well and they detailed my car after they were done working on it. I will tell my work and friends about this place and keep them in mind if I ever need them for sure. Nice to know that there are still people who go above and beyond to help out. Reminds me of the way people use to run their business’. This place is 5 star all the way. For 15 years now, I have using Richard’s Body Shop on Lawrence for both insurance-reimbursed as well as out-of-pocket repairs as have many friends of mine. They do high-quality work, are easy to reach with questions, and everyone at the shop with whom I have dealt has been friendly and nice. For out-of-pocket they are very flexible and willing to meet your budget. Highly recommended.

This place is absolutely terrible. I brought my car in to get to get my door and fender fixed over 10 years ago, theres rust from the poor paint job. I thought the work was lifetime warranty on rust. Not for this place. I should have taken it to a different shop at the time but I let my aunt talk me into taking my car to this whack place. My aunt said they would waive the $500 deductible which they did. But I should have paid the deductible and get quality work else where and not a lifetime of headache. I got my insurance involved to get Richards body whack work to fix the rust. But the insurance said they cannot make the shop pay for any rework done because they do not have any of my info because its been over 10 years and they moved their database. Thats not my problem. You should have customers info for a life time and offer to repair for the poor work you did. Even spoke to the owner and he didnt even bother to offer to pay for the rework on the rust. Thats how you treat your customers? Suggestion to all: Take your car somewhere else. If I was able to give this whack place negative star rating I would. Cant believe it made me put one star.

And also I forget to mention That when I received my car was pretty dirty inside and outside. And by the way, I have two deferent places on my car for fix they do forget to repair the other side that I told them, hhhhh i just shake my head👎🏻 They didnt deserve even one star its too much for them.

Brought my car after a fender bender and my bumper needed to be replaced. Everyone at the shop was so helpful. They made sure to get me a rental of equal quality as my existing car, which was a huge stress relief. My car was fixed within a week and when I got it back, the inside looked like new! I couldn’t believe how fresh the leather looked and that they would take the time to detail my interior they way they did! Highly recommend Richards Body Shop. My car needed repairs and their price was roughly 40% lower than the other shops. The folks there are honest and helpful and recommended against some service recommendations that they said were completely unnecessary. Its kind of refreshing to use the services of a body shop that you know wont take advantage of you and are just trying to help.

For someone who does not know about cars this place was honest and very helpful. The tow truck driver was very kind and arrived in great time. they did an amazing job fixing my car after my accident. If I ever need body work done again I will without a second thought return to Richards body shop.

My local mechanic left me a long list of items that needed attention on my minivan so I decided to bring it to Richards Body Shop to look it over instead and save money on repair costs. Dropped off my Sienna in the morning and they called to tell me it was ready that afternoon! This guy David was extremely helpful and friendly. Not only was the pricing cheaper but most of the service recommendations according to the dealer werent even necessary. 5 stars for honesty too!

I was very happy with this shop. I felt like they took the time to explain everything to me and I don’t know much about cars but I appreciated the way they treated me and was patient with me. In a world that’s tough and uncaring often these people are not that way. I did have my car checked by the dealer after my repair and they said it was superb work. I will continue to go there and recommend other people too.

Was recommended here by a friend and was I was impressed. I was skeptical at first but my Infinity came back to me looking better than ever. I been around the block a few times and I must say the level of professionalism that I experienced with Richards was outstanding! They are top notch guys who go the extra mile. Car looks outstanding, and my friends and neighbors cannot believe its the same car that was damaged. I cannot recommend them on a higher level but say look no further, they are the best. I have had my car fixed at Richards twice and both times, the service was excellent. Not only did they work around my schedule, but they also made sure to pick up the vehicle at my convenience by picking me up from my job, getting the car and bringing me back to work.I received continuous updates on the progress of the work up to completion.When the service was completed, my car was returned clean and looking like brand new.I highly recommend this place!

I recently chose Richards Body Shop to fix/totally replace the front bumper of my 2015 Chevy Malibu after hitting a foreign object on the tollway at a high rate of speed. This is the fourth time in about the last ten years that I used Richards and every time Ive used them for auto body repair I am completely satisfied. From the time I dropped the car off, worked with the front desk staff on contacting my insurance company to Richards setting up a ride to the rental car place. Richards had my car for about a week and kept me informed of the work every step of the way, when I got the car back, the bumper and the paint job were as good as new. I will continue to use Richards as my body shop of choice in the Chicago area.

The guy called the insurance and got me a rental car, and he was super knowledgeable about the process putting my mind at ease as I was a bit frantic about the whole situation. When I got home I realized how helpful he was and when I got my car back 10 days later I was astonished by the fact that I literallly could not see any evidence of the damage. This place does magic with their repairs and I will say that they sent me email updates all the time too keeping me in the loop. Got a feeling this place is gem that everyone would use if they knew about them keep up the good work guys.

The experience at Richards was amazing from the very beginning. My car had major damage as a result of an accident. Richards quickly towed the car to the shop, dealt with insurance and the adjuster, updated me every step of the way as the car was being worked on and delivered my car to my house spotless when it was finished. This has been the best experience that Ive had at a body shop by far!

I cant tell you how happy I am with the work performed at Richards. My Avalon needed a huge dent and some touch-up work. My car came back looking better than when I drove it off the lot. Paying out of pocket sometimes is scary, but the price was reasonable and the work they did was flawless.

Phenomenal staff, who work so well together. Made the experience of fixing my car the complete opposite of what I thought it was going to be. I thought it would be a hassle, but it was hassle FREE and they even called the next day to make sure all was well. Definitely would suggest anyone to go to Richards, a decision you will not regret.

This place is by far the best shoo i have ever dealt with, they took the time to get my car right after I sustained 12000 dollars in damage. My insurance tried to get me to go to their place but I went with the Infiniti certified location Richards and I was very satisfied. They really went out of their way to explain to me everything I needed to know. I did however have my uncle who is an adjuster for an insurance company look at the work and he said that he had never seen work as good as the work done on my car and he has dealt with hundreds of body shops. I would say that this place deserves 10 stars because I owe money on my car i was naturally nervous after sustaining this much damage on my car.

I am satisfied with the repairing job on my car. The work done is good. Besides the repair other services are bad. They initially promised me it will take 2 days for the job, but they kept delay it and end up spend a whole week. I do appreciate they spend time to clean the interior but they throw away my stuff without telling me, including my receipts, names cards, and a cardboard box. My back cushion also went missing when I receive the car, and they say they cant find it.

I was rear ended and had a lot of damage to my Nissan. They picked it up and dealt with the insurance company for me which made it convenient for me. Quality of work was top notch and they even detailed the car for me. I got it back in perfect shape. It has not looked this good since I bought it. Thank you. I will recommend your body shop to everyone I know.

My car was badly damaged in an accident, and while it was still with the tow company, David and Richards helped me navigate the different insurance companies involved and how to deal with the whole situation. He gave me great advise based on his extensive experience, knowing that my car might well end up being totaled (it was). He went far beyond the call of duty.I think Im generally above average on the capable-human-being scale, but car stuff, and especially something like this accident, leaves me feeling pressured and a bit lost. The way David at Richards helped me out on Tuesday was exactly what I needed. They have a good relationship with my Toyota dealership and clearly know their stuff, but beyond that, they are better than decent human beings!

My dad is an older man that needed body work on his 2014 Chevy Equinox. I went with him because I have heard that body shops can be deceiving. I went in and had the pleasure of meeting with David. He worked well with our insurance. The insurance company wanted to use aftermarket parts, but David worked with the insurance company to assure that Richards installed factory Chevy parts. Thank you for your help and honesty, I will never get body work done anywhere else. My whole family now uses Richards for all body work. My insurance company said my car was totaled, so you can imagine the devastation I felt. Called Richards body shop and Gladys answered, got my car towed over, and told me not to worry. They convinced my insurance that it wasnt a total loss and my insurance agreed to pay. It took a couple weeks, but Gladys made sure she kept me up to date with all the repairs to my vehicle. Im driving now and my car is like brand new! Great place to go to, I would definitely recommend to all my friends and family!

Best shop Ive had body work done on my vehicles. Quality profesional and right on time. Ive used Richards for several vehicles and have not been disappointed. I had one small issue and Eddie took it right in and fixed it while I waited, which took about 5 minutes and even washed my car again. Great people to do business with. If you want professional service which is excellent then go to Richard auto body shop. Ask for David he does all the leg work with your insurance company for you. Had both my Camry and Sienna fixed there for both minor and major body repairs. Trust me you wont be disappointed.

Richards is one of the most respectful and honest body shops I have ever been to. They are above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I absolutely love using them for all my auto troubles. David at Richards body shop is the man. I got rear ended recently and needed body work. I called in and David came out to meet at my office the next day to check out the car. Then he dealt with the insurance company for me and got me a rental. Less than an hour later the tow truck showed up to take my car to the shop. David even called me back later on and arranged for an Uber to take me to get my rental car. Less than two weeks later, the car was ready at the shop. Detailed inside and out and looking better than when I got it. Everyone I have told about this couldn’t believe the experience I had. This is a full 180 from how this process usually goes. Will never go to another place for body work. Thanks David and Richards for everything!

This is by far the worst place. Do not do any kind of business here or at their other locations. They scam people and insurance companies. Allstate is aware of the bad business and scams that go on here but it seems nothing has ever been done to close them down. Richards body shop has disappointed many customers....read...scroll through all the 1 and 2 star reviews...youll see the same complaints over and over...if anything about Richards is consistent... its the poor business they offer.... returning damaged vehicles to people, over charging customers, not fixing what they promised, keeping peoples cars past the date they promised to have it ready and then charging exuberant prices for storage without telling the person until pick-up time. Your car is in better hands anywhere else but here!!!!

Everyone was helpful and kind. I got my car back at the time promised. They dealt with the insurance company directly after I submitted the claim. Im super satisfied with the work they did!

I went to this shop to fix my wifes car that had some damages on right side doors and they fixed the doors perfectly. Everybody there is very nice and kind. I really love their work.

After getting rear-ended about a year ago, I had my car fixed @ Richards on the recommendation from Mini of Chicago as they do not have a body shop. My car was fixed quickly without issues and a free detail included. Fast forward to a year later, I heard a rattling in my car and took it into Mini for an inspection. They wanted >$600 in repairs for a minor issues making the rattle & to fix the reverse light. I took the car back to Richards with all of my paperwork and they fixed it without question on the spot, no charge. Dont go here! You have been warned! You will never get your car back....they keep it for absolutely ever! Once you do get it back, a lot of the work previously agreed IS NOT COMPLETED!!! Its enough to drive you insane. The work that is completed is of such poor quality you have to wonder how they stay in business. STAY AWAY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Amazing service and work !Dropped off my Jeep Grand Cherokee in a mess after accident. A short time later work was completed and looked as good as new. All along the way communication and service was vip 5 star. I had gone to Richards about a year ago and they did a great job - fast and for a good price. However, on this current occasion, it was completely different. I was told that the job would take a week (not sure why since the estimate was about 8 to 9 hours), and the cost of $1,700, was about twice as much as the earlier repair (even though there was more damage on the earlier job). However, I trusted that they would do a good and prompt job as they had done before. I left the car on Monday at noon. Later that same day, I was curious to see if they had started to work on it, so I walked by the shop about 4 hours later and was dismayed to see that it was still on the street with the lights blinking -- luckily I did not get a ticket. At the end of the week (Friday), I called to see if the car would be ready, but was told that it would not be ready until Monday - no loaner car was offered to me. On Monday at noon, I called and was told to come in and pick up the car - it was being washed. I showed up two hours later (just to make sure that I did not have to wait), and nothing had been done. I waited another hour and it was still being washed. They knew I was waiting - I told them I had to leave to pick up my child at 3:00 - but that had no effect. I left with no car. I had to literally run back to my home to grab my neighbors car - to pick up my child at school and then came back to pick up the car. I took the car home and discovered that my loose change (about $1.50) from the front compartment was missing. When I called, the receptionist, said that she would check it out and will call me back. She never called back. When I called again today, she said that they had not found anything in the back. Regarding the repair, there are some remnants (glue?) near the gas tank cap - but I am too afraid to take it back there. Hopefully I will not need to get any more car body repairs in the future -- but if I do, I will find a new auto body shop. Too bad since they did such good work the first time.

Extremely courteous and professional. We walked around the vehicle together to make sure I was satisfied...the technician found a small smudge that they missed and insisted on taking care of it on the spot. They wouldnt let me leave until THEY were satisfied. You dont find service like that today. Amazing! I have referred several friends and associates, all have called to thank me!
