This Midas really helped me out.I explained my car was leaking didnt know if it was the radiator etc.Got same day appointment brought my car in paid $29.99 to have my car put on the rack, the mechanic thoroughly examined my car. I needed to replace my overflow reservoir.Thats it they didnt try to sell me anything extra.I appreciated that.I brought it from a car part store, watched a You Tube video installed it myself saved myself $200+

This guy Anthony, tried to Hustle me from the time I pulled up with my baby son.Never was I treated like an actual customer, but instead Im fed this line about receiving the Under the Table, Hookup price, which was supposed to take place after 4 p.m.I inquired about the cost to have my Power Steering and Front Wheel Hubs installed and this creep wanted to charge me $150 labor for the Power Steering, and $600 or $300 per side, for the Wheel Hubs.Several reputable online sources state that the labor for Wheel Hubs range between $114-$150 per side and about $111-$150 for the labor to install a line connected to the power steering.So in essence, the so called hookup price wouldve been the Highest price paid for labor to install the Power Steering Line, and Double the Highest price paid for labor to install the Wheel Hubs.It felt like like a Shady deal to me from the beginning, and this guy couldnt even look me in the eye when he quoted me $600s for labor on the Wheel Hubs, not realizing that I read body language, Im a researcher and we live in the information Age.,, and a big smudge on the reputation at Midas.Two thumbs down¡¡

I scheduled an appointment for an alignment. I was quoted a price for the alignment alone. Upon arriving without even looking at my car the guy at the desk starts saying that they wont give an alignment unless you buy all new parts including, tires, tie rods etc. He was a blatant liar!! They lost a potential customer.

I took my car in recently for some work and I can honestly say I’m satisfied with the work. My car traction is now back working properly and I’m going in today to have some work done on my brakes and Roters. I’m sure this will be an exceptional job done as well.

Good experience overall... Joey the manager is a great guy. He really could’ve gouged me because it was an emergency and I had no other options. I was taking a chance on the shop because I was essentially stranded. Before I walked in I read the reviews and did not have much hope. I had know idea what to expect.Long story short the mechanics where genuine hard-working guys. You could tell the mechanics took pride in there work and engaged the customers directly. The shop has an old-school vibe and noticed they where listening to classical music while working. Joey kept the customers happy telling stories and made people feel at ease!

The manager of the establishment got upset because I gave another patron some advice about a catalytic converter and he felt I was making him loose business so he refused to service my vehicle.

Never received a call back regarding my air conditioner. They did the work but could not find the warranty for any work in the event something goes wrong. Bad business. Bob is a terrible person to do business with. I have a warranty on my brakes for life. Need a new Midas to go to. Brakes are only a year and a half old. Not happy

I went here for a simple oil change, then was told that my car would more than likely break down, if I didnt have my serpentine belts replaced. The belts, which I later found out are only $20. I was charged $120, FOR ONE BELT! I refused to get them both replaced at one time. Then when I finally left my car started squealing loudly. So I brought it back. Then was told I couldnt use my air conditioner, which was causing the noise. I had been using my a/c with no problems, prior to going to Midas. I was then told I needed an air compressor, and they could fix it for $1200!! Youve got to be kidding me. I will NEVER go to this nor any other Midas again. I spent unnecessary money for things I didnt need. After I had a mechanic look at my car and my old serpentine belt, he said there was nothing wrong with it, and Midas had gotten over on me. The fact that I now have no a/c and spent an unnecessary $150+ is disgusting! Do NOT go here! Especially if you are a woman!!

Even though I live in South Shore, I was reluctant to go to the hood to get services on my car. I decided to give the local Midas a try due to convenience. I used a Groupon for a Synthetic Oil Change. The representative quoted me about an hour wait. To my surprise, they finished in about 20 minutes.There was nothing overly special about the service or mechanics. But they did get the job done. They told me that I had some other issues with my car so Im going to get a second opinion and a price quote.Overall Im pretty satisfied with the service.

My daughter was just there today and was told initially it was a simple belt issue which was what another mechanic also told me. She decided to go here because theyre close by but they changed the story 30 minutes later saying the pulley that the belt was attached to is now brkoen in the engine and my car wasnt driveable mind you she drove it there! NEVER EVER trust these people with your car. They had her stuck! they made it so she couldnt drive my car out and charged her $800 Im 100% sure for a problem they caused! Its such a shame black people do their own this way! No wonder we never get anywhere!

Dont go here terrible place I came here to check my ac i left with my check engine light on i confronted them about it he said it was gonna happen i asked them to test it they did it i never saw the results he just said my lower o2 sensor needed to be replaced so I went to auto zone got a reading there turns out it was the upper sensor they lied so I asked them at auto zone is it possible to damage my sensor while they was testing my ac he said they had access to it and all that ac still not fix and now I have to replace my sensor too female take a man with you if not they will get you....

I was skeptical at first when I pulled up but they did a good job inspecting my car. I was there for an oil change and they found a problem with my car that I have been taking my car to dealership and they couldnt fix the problem because they didnt know what it was.

There are two midas shops on South Stony Island Drive. This one (located on the 7200 S Stony Island block) is100% a scam. I was a mystery shopper from 2012 to 2013 for Midas and during this time I visited this location two times. Both times they told me I needed ALL of my brakes replaced, including the rotors, plus my battery, which came to over $800. No other Midas I visited during this time frame as a mystery shopper found anything wrong with my brakes, including the Midas located just south of this one that I visited LITERALLY THE VERY NEXT DAY. Please, if you need to get work done on your car or an estimate for anything, do NOT go to this Midas. If anything, visit the one a few blocks south of this location on the 7400 block of South Stony Island.

Damn this is the worst ever....they charged me $1,555 for something i fixed for $150 ....bunch of liars and thieves and all they’ll do is rip you off... I’ll advise you not to ever go there,instead go to autozone for Diagnosis and visit any other mechanic but them

This Midas does overcharge and the service is mediocre. I dont think theyre bad people out to get anyone or anything, I just think you can find a better experience somewhere else.

My last experience was over three years ago, though I had been going to this place for years. The last repair was incorrectly done, and my car stopped on me in an isolated area, at night, somewhere near Glencoe. My road service couldnt locate a tow service willing to make the trek to Chicago. I was alone at night by myself for hours...until one service told me they would tow me for $300. I had no other option.When I returned my car to Midas, they apologized for the botched repair, but the branch/home office didnt feel they should reimburse me.To his credit, the shop manager (or whatever) pushed back, and I was eventually reimbursed. In the spirit of fostering good will and customer loyalty, why was there even a question? I will never go here again!!!

I have spent well over 3,000 dollars at this facility within the last 6 months. I paid $400 for a new blower in my car in a few months back. The new blower went out and I paid for a replacement part in October and I still have not received the part. I keep calling and I keep being told that its on back order. So, every time I need heat in my car I have to go underneath the dash and wiggle wires for heat. Then I went to the shop the day before Thanksgiving and was told the car would be ready in a few hours. My low break fluid sensor kept coming on. I didnt get my car back until Saturday evening, but dropped my car off on Wednesday at 8AM. I was NEVER called or updated on the progress of the fix, I had to constantly keep calling. Then the Midas down the street on 74th and Stoney had to fix the car....not the original location!!!! I got my car back and $150 dollar discount, plus an oil change. Well, while driving home from work on Sunday my Change Engine Oil sensor light came on. I called back to Al at 72nd and Stoney and was told to bring the car back and he will reset the sensor. I know damn well that he didnt give me a free oil change, because that light has NEVER popped on unless I needed an oil change. I called the corporate office and NEVER received a return phone call because the operator entered the wrong phone number and email address. I have lost all faith and respect for this shop and organization. Please take your business and money elsewhere. If I dont receive any feed back regarding my complaint or my broken heater I WILL be filing a complaint with the BBB today!!!!!!!! And they wonder why we dont support our local businesses????

I spent $1600 to get engine fix and it was never fix. My engine light came back on and it literally rumbling a few days later. I brought it back to found why my engine wasnt fix and I have to go to work tomorrow.
