I have been to Happy Nails more than a few times for numerous services including eyebrow arching, pedicures, manicures, and no chip as well as a full set of acrylics. They are wonderful at redeeming themselves after the fact but that shouldn’t happen. I’ll let you be the judge of the work that they have given me so far. The Black and gold set was no chip on my nails which began to warp after less than 24hrs. I was told to come back and that’s when they redid my set with the light pink and glitter, As well as my daughters nails. The set with the pink and green, all of the finger nails shapes were different none of them were the same not even the shaping. I asked for almond they are clearly pointed. I was in the shop from roughly 10:30a-2:55p.I was livid no one saw the mistakes until I brought it up I was crying because I was so angry. As I previously stated someone else in the shop did fix my nails but that was after the fact. The only reason I am giving them two stars and not one is because they fixed the problem. I’ve been told to only go to Nancy and that’s who I will be seeing going forward if I return.UPDATE 9/11/2021- This set has held up strong for 3 weeks. The color has started to fade on all the tips. Going in for a fill in today.
This was my first time going to Happy Nails, and I gotta say, Im very happy with my nails. I got an ombre coffin full set with a deluxe pedicure and both were done very well. The nail technicians were very polite and professional, and the shop itself was very clean. I will definitely return in the future.
A very nice experience on getting my nails done. Clean & sanitary place with Masks Requirements. I will return for service again.
Came in for a pedicure. The nail technician used a scrub on my feet and legs that I reacted to, and became very itchy from. I asked the nail technician what ingredients were included in the scrub. She could not tell me. I asked for a paper towel to wipe my legs because the itching was increasing, and was denied. Instead I was told to “go home and take a shower.” Twice I asked for an accommodation like a wet towel, paper or otherwise, and was told no as many times. Upon my departure, the technician had communicated with the receptionist, who asked about the itchiness I was experiencing. The receptionist told me “maybe you have cuts on your legs” to explain away my itchiness. At no point did the technician who did my pedicure take accountability, nor the receptionist. I confirmed my payment was received, then left. I will no longer be supporting this business, as the rudeness, victim-blaming, dismissal, and disrespect that myself, and clearly many others have experienced, seems to be routine. If you have a choice go elsewhere.
The place is clean and calm. However the shop ha sheen open for about a year and they seem to act funny toward new customers. The shop owner is at the front and shes very bougie. She asked me to come back in 30 minutes. I came back she told me to sit at the tech desk and still waited 15 more minutes to be taken care of. I got my feet and nails done $105. No nail art no nail art on my feet either. My nails $55 and my feet $50. Time for me to start doing my own nails the shops are getting to high
If you go here just expect terrible customer service, they purposefully charged an extra $27 to my card for no reason after waiting 3 hours to get my hands done. After I immediately pointed it out, I did not receive an apology nor did anyone give me an explanation as to why. Also they claimed it would take 1-2 extra days for them charging money to MY card for absolutely no reason. Do not trust them with your credit or debit cards and frankly if you’re pressed to get your nails done I know places who will do a better job on your hands with better services. I read the reviews and went because I was pressed but Happy Nails never fails to be terrible every time.
My salon tech was trying to use toe strips that someone else had used when I told her that those are used toe strips she tried to convince me that they were new but clearly everyone knows when you go to the nail shop the toe strips are open and these toe strips that she was trying to reuse was in a tray sitting in water. This is a place that I frequent every two weeks this was the worst experience that I have encountered at Happy Nails
I wish they would come in on time at opening but I usually have a good experience. $50 for a no chip pedi. I am used to paying a little less but they are convenient.
My toe nails still look good 3 weeks later.
I used to love this place but my last 2 visits were a bad experience. Ive had to wait 2-3 hours for a nail tech on a slow day. Today I waited 3 hours just for them to tell me I couldnt get what I came for. First they tell me I can get a fill in and that I dont need to soak off then they tell me I cant get clear pink without fresh acrylic thats after I had been waiting 3 hours. Ill just save my time and money and go elsewhere.
Every time you come to the shop it’s no telling if you will be able to get service. I’ve been to this shop since it open and every other time I cannot get my nails and feet done. I sat in the shop for 3 hours and was not able to get anything done. The owner told me she had been working 10 hours straight. I told he I worked 12 and sat here 3 and cannot get any service after being told I will be serviced. The have bad attitudes and mad they are reviving business
Oh my GOD, Nancy is the best. She did a excellent job !!!! This was my first time here. I was referred by my daughter kameshaI will be back.
Neighborhood standard. Good service, basic work. No frills.
Poor quality!!! I don’t recommended, only maybe one or two skilled nail techs.. asked for a simple fill and cut down from a previous nail techs work at another shop.. it seemed the tech here couldn’t give a fill over someone else’s work.. really super simple! Left with lumps uneven shaped.. never again will I go here.. service also not good.
Fast, friendly, thorough. This was my first time at this shop. I definitely will be returning. Great work.
This place is poppin so you have to get there early but definitely worth it, they did a great job with my acrylics.
Been here twice. The price is not worth it. Asked for a soak off and overlay. The nail tech insisted on using a nail tip to pop off my nails and pushed so hard that he ended up bending my real nail. Causing it to split across and bleed. Couldn’t put a nail on it, fearing that it may get infected if so. He kept trying to make me get the broken nail done. It’s been a week and my overlay is chipping. Wouldn’t recommend.
PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! I USUALLY GO DOWNTOWN & I WISH I WOULD HAVE WENT TO MY REGULAR NAIL SALON!!
My experiences are always great. If you dont like something they will change it for.
I love coming here for a mani pedi, havent had to wait past 10 minutes for a chair
Great service and experience. Excellent!!
Ive been there 3 times and each time I enjoyed and loved my nails
Repeated visits to this location; appointment times are never kept, the staff is (mostly) very kind but I have yet to walk away with the manicure I asked for. Most recently I paid for an acrylic manicure and the technician filed the tips down to my fingertip, the shape is entirely different from the reference photo I brought with me. I asked for a specific topcoat and was told by one technician that it was fine, then simply told no by the technician performing my manicure. My finger was cut twice, and my nail beds are very sore from all the filing. I also witnessed a client turned away when she asked for her technician to fix a mistake on the manicure received before she left. She was reprimanded by the technician for not telling her sooner, the technician rolled his eyes and showed an unprofessional reaction.
They apparently didn’t have any cuticle oil or any tips to fit my fingers. But they have chill service so 3 stars
It’s a pretty decent nail shop located within the Hyde Park courtyard. Good service, fast mani/pedi and mostly busy at all times. Best to call ahead, however there is still room for improvement in service.
I showed a picture to the tech of what I wanted. It was a picture they posted and they tech did the shortest nails with a horrible shape. My pedicure was decent but I was not happy with Happy nails. Now I have to walk around with these short ugly nails.
They charged me 100 for nails and feet!! Never again my nails hurt so bad and they do not follow 6 feet apart! They will have you seated very close to others! I dont mind spending the money if they look good and they dont .But this place is complete garbage and my toes looked nice at first now no. if I could give no stars I would!
Never on time.. Rude
Good products. Massage chairs. My nails last! A regular.
First and last time coming here. Some nails were longer than the other ones.On the side of the nail some were curved and the other were straight. Also Amys attitude was just not it.
I love the decor, but you have to hire nail techs that listen to understandNot everyone is in a rush. I informed the tech I wanted to soak she immediately comes over to work. I told her not to cut down file she cutsMaybe I need reviews on a better tech
Terrible! Nail technicians had masks below nose so exposing it. Nail technician who did my man/pedi cut my toe and then my thumb cuticle. When I asked her to remove a strand of the polish brush that was under the polish, she started yelling. I paid before this and gave her a tip despite cutting me twice. I asked and received my tip back from the business. Her name is Kiki or Chiki. They refused to spell her name for me when I asked.
I was okay, the wait wasnt long, if I go back it will it should be fine. Thank them for the time.
The owner and the staff are very courteous and do a great job. A really good addition to the neighborhood!
Jenni is always the best! Great nail art. The environment is super nice and clean. Great prices.
This place has really good nail techs and most of them do a great job, but there are a few that aren’t as good especially when it comes to polish
I sat for over an hour and I finally was called for a fill-in the tech took a person who came in way after me and that was the 3rd person. I overlooked the others because they were getting pedicure. When went to leave no one said a word. I guess my my or appearance wasnot acceptable to them
I go here because it’s convenient and their work is good. Not the best but good. The dipping powder works well with two coats of clear, during final application, not just one coat. Make sure you ask for two coats
Love It!!! Clean, Peaceful and Quiet!! Will definitely return!!
Good work in half the time
Designs are always on point, however the increase in price does not work with the waiting time even when you book an appointment.
I would not be coming back here again .. I wanted a nude purple almost a lilac color on my nails, the nail tech did what she wanted to do basically my nails are like an off white I also paid to have a chrome polish on both my ring fingers and she was very unsuccessful in doing so..but any way I was told to come back so they can have a look at the nails so they can fix them when I came back the nail tech said she never charge me for the chrome on each of my nails which was a lie..so I just politely walked out..and I would not be returning to this place
I got a pedicure the technician did a good job but the polish was chipping after a week
I was excited to find a nail salon close to work and home and for the few months that I’ve been coming it was great, Nancy the owner did my nails perfectly. The last 2 times I’ve gone the customer service was horrible, Nancy can’t stay focused on what she’s doing she keeps stopping right in the middle of doing my nails because she has to get up and do something up and down, up and down, talking, going back and forth, looking at videos on the phone of the worker sitting next to her while I’m sitting in her chair with unfinished nails!!! I feel like if I’m paying you for a service, you should at least try to make it a good experience for your paying customer. With all of this being said, I’m done will not be back not worth the wait anymore, not wasting my time or my money.
Very clean, cute decor, nice products and color choice(I wear no chip and it’s hard finding shops with a wide selection of brands and colors.) I sat with Amy for the first time and she was awesome! She did everything I asked her to and didn’t get irritated or catch an attitude. I just moved to the area and I this is definitely my new nail shop!
The manicures are great but the wait time is ridiculous. After waiting for 40 minutes then being told it would be another 30 minutes, I concluded no manicure is worth it. They need a better system in setting up their appointments.
This place is Great😍. Nancy & Jenny are AWESOME. Extraordinary Customer Service. Services are Amazing. I always leave very SATISFIED 💅
Nice and gentle
Dipped manicures are the best
I really like Happy Nails. Jenny is great and gives the best hand massages. Titi is cool too. They are very clean and the equipment is all new. I would recommend this spot if you in Hyde Park area
We didnt even get to experience anything. My husband and I walked in to get pedicures together we were given DIRECT EYE CONTACT BY 3 Workers and was not greeted at all . As if the black couple didnt have money !! Or we werent standing there waiting to be serviced. And when we went to walk back out the door no one said a word. They dont care about people. service is bad would never return and will make sure any and everyone I know in the hyde Park area doesnt visit them .
Excellent staff, great work
Although its always busy. They take good care of me in a timely fashion. And its always to perfection. Manicures, pedicures, and my eyebrows!
Shout out to Tina she slayed my feet 🤣
Not your average nail shop professional, clean, and all license service providers.
Hey everyone, it was my first time going to this location I got a no chip pedicure. Sadly to say I thought the place was clean by the looks of it. Apparently they aren’t because I now have an infection. I have bumps around my cuticles and pus coming out as well. I would suggest that you go to another location.
Fast service. No upsale!
My no chip nail polish only lasted 6 days, I paid $30.00. Not Happy at all.
Competent, professional services in a clean environment.
, I saw this place on Google and I saw the reviews they received at the time which was 4.5 and I decided to go in. For the last year I’ve been going to them and every time I go to them there’s a long wait which I completely understand because of the fact that they are non-appointment establishment . I normally get my nails done by the owner Nancy and she usually does a great job. But yesterday was my last straw and I would NEVER go back. I got there yesterday at around 11 o’clock which is when they open and I asked the Owner Nancy how long would it be till she’s free she told me half an hour which was perfect so I ran to get some errands and I came back. Once I came back she told me that she didn’t know that she had another person before me which later I found out that she already knew but she didn’t want me going to someone else and that will be another half an hour. I got there at 11 and it was still 130 and I have not been seen so the people that got there after I arrived were already being seen and walking out the door after they paid for their service. Once I realize this I went up to the front desk and talk to her daughter about any accommodations because I’ve been waiting here for two hours the people after me are now being seen and I’m still sitting in waiting area ..if she could not do my nails in a reasonable timeframe I could’ve went to the other associate that specializes in acrylic nails. But instead of being accommodating which a business normally would do they were fighting with me the owner and her daughter which is really pretty much messed up because I’ve recommended all my friends even work associates to this place because of how excellent work they did. But not anymore not only will I never go back again, I will let everyone know how terrible this place is going forward and I will go to every social media Site that they are on and write a bad review that’s how awful it was I recommend no one to go there. Sometimes great customer service over weights quality.
Got the dipping powder. Still look good two weeks later! Ill go again in about a week because of new growth.
Perfect 👌
I would not recommend this nail salon due to poor customer service. I wasnt able get my nails done at all. I arrived to the salon 45 minutes before closing after a long day attempting to treat myself to a pedicure. Upon arriving I waited at the counter with a technician literally two feet away from me servicing a client, she never looked up to acknowledge me. About 10 feet away was the technician who actually looked at me but never greeted me or inquired to why I was standing at the counter. I needed to know the wait time for a pedicure, however after two minutes of waiting and being BLATANTLY IGNORED... I left the establishment. I do not recommend this salon and THEY WILL NEVER GET MY BUSINESS/MONEY.
Busy shop with excellent service.I am very pleased with my pedicure. Reasonable Price.
Love Linda
I was very unpleased with my service. I had a party of four. We called ahead to make sure we could be seated together since it was our monthly girls day.One of the ladies didnt like the color she chose (shed only had two fingers painted at this point) the nail tech had a whole attitude regarding the situation. She started yelling that she was taking too long picking out a new color(mind you it was her birthday and she was wearing a certain pink) she charged her extra forAnother party member asked for the almond reshape because thats how she has been wearing her nails since forever. The tech kept telling her that stilleto would look better and have her this just that, mind you these were her natural nails. At the end she called thesmsger over explained and she had the tech change the shape but still wanted to charge her additional for the shape. We felt that was completely unfair. The tech and the manager had words in their native tongue, she didnt get charge but she was handling her has very roughly after. We were the first 7 people to arrive. Do there was no need for the amount of attitude we received. We have not stepped foot back in this place.
Great
They do a good job, very neat, and they actually care about how their finished work looks, and your satisfaction. Good service as well.
Great Massage
A friend recommended this place as somewhere closer to home to try that did a fairly good job. The nail tech that I had did a mediocre job at best. While she was fairly nice when she greeted me, she kept yanking and twisting my fingers which I found to be very rude. Her work was very sloppy as the no-chip polish coats are uneven and the top coat for my toes and fingernails was/is all over my skin. Im actually still picking this off. When Id correct what I saw her doing wrong, she would basically ignore me.At the end of my service I chose to pay with Zelle which was a convenient option. The nail tech told me my total would be then said plus my tip. While I thought her comment to make sure I tipped her was very rude, I always tip when I receive a service. However, the amount that I tip is based on the quality of service I received. I added a couple extra bucks in my payment which was fair considering the overall service that I had and the fact that my nails looked tacky. I was too over this place and told her that Id sent the payment so she could confirm receipt before I left.As I started collecting my personal items I was startled when I noticed the tech was now over my shoulder looking at my phone and she proceeded to say $65? You tipped me $2? thats it? did you put in the wrong amount? You need to add my tip Im thinking to myself is she crazy? So I said ok, Im sending it separately, you should see it soon and proceeded to leave. She started to speak in her language to have the girl check again to see if I sent another payment.the girl at the front started checking her phone and said, I see one payment here for $65 I dont see the other one yet. I said ok, its probably still sending. The fact that now 2 people working there thought that is was okay to not only demand tip but demand that you give them more of a tip was just too much for me. I just could not believe it and walked out. Not a very happy experience at all and I will not return!A few pointer Happy Nails:1. At least attempt to make your clients feel like they are more than just a number.2. Though you should know better as you are the professional, when a client points out a mistake in your work or just their preference not to have polish all over there skin, listen to them!3. Asking for a tip is tacky, tasteless and unprofessional. If your focus is on providing quality work and excellent customer service then the tips come naturally.
The workers are not very friendly at all. But more importantly, my no chip nails were chipped in less than two days. Going vack showing them, the lady at table 3 was extremely rude. Bad svc all around
Had a great tech! Perfect location
Awesomeness stafff... loved the work and attention to detail.
After my visit here I’ve decided to make a conscious decision to only go to black owned nail salons. The customer service here was very poor and the woman who did my nails was very aggressive. She kept pulling and yanking my hand and she never even spoke to me, only to ask what colors I wanted. My experience here was awkward and very uncomfortable
👍 job!
I’d go anywhere else but this place but to be fair maybe they’re better now...
The place is very nice, the decor, the cleanness. It is a new nail place in Hyde Park but, dont do your nail with Titi. She delivers a lousy service, from laughing and saying something in her language when working with your feet, like making fun of it, bossing around how you put your hands while doing your nails, to not helping you to put your shoes on this cold winter allowing you to mess your nails. Horrible nail technician. Avoid her at any cost.
I really like this salon. Clean and friendly nail techs. They did a nice job with my pedicure. I will be coming back.
I was very pleased with the service and will go again.
Comfortable atmosphere & staff helpful
Very nice place! Went there yesterday for my first no chip mani-pedi, and was out of there in about an hour and a half! By the evening, my no chip manicure had chipped on two fingers, and peeled off. I went back today for them to fix it and was very happy! Not only did they fix the two that had chipped, but they also tidied up my other nails! Would highly recommend this place as they are very friendly and improve with every day!
Injuries my nail cuticle both my toe nails and finger..did not do the pedicure properly very werent scrubbed nicely
Great manicure and pedicure. The salon is clean and they are very careful and nice.
My boyfriend and I each got pedicures here, and I got a manicure. We had to wait a couple minutes, but we got to sit in the awesome massage chairs. The mani and pedi were both thorough and they look great, and the staff were really friendly. We’ll be back!
I have waited 1 hr to be seen and still waitingThe nail tech told me 20 mins as I am very upset because they are not considerate of peoples time
CLEAN SHOP, STERILIZE INSTRUMENTS, TABLE, THEY TALKED IN THEIR LANGUAGE BUT IT WAS NOT OVER BARING, PATIENT, DID NOT WAIT LONG TO TAKE ME. REASONABLE PRICED. I WILL GO BACK!
Terrible service, got here twice on 2 different days right before 10 AM ( listed opening time on front door) and they were at least 40 minutes late both times, had to call Jenny and Nancy on theyre cell phone to ask where they were. They said they were stuck in traffic both times, so frustrating! If youre going to run a business be professional and stick to your hours, what does this say to your customers? They do not take the names in waiting order either, they just take pedicure customers before customers who are waiting for other services, its ridiculous!
Excellent nail technicians - long-lasting gel manicure very well done.
Good service
Bad attitude from a young Asian male that works there....they all speak their language over your head...I told him that I needed a good Manicure and he SO....now Im not crazy but that was with an attitude SO...I said please get me someone else...Thank you
The first time I came here, it was great. I got acrylics with the dip powder and they looked beautiful. But, they literally fell off after 2 weeks. When i came to get a new set, the woman literally ripped the remaining ones off (I actually yelled OW) and then proceeded to put on new ones onto jagged nails. She sliced off all my cuticles raw and left my nails horribly unkempt. Some were even lopsided/uneven/crooked. I also multiple times asked for round and she would not give me round, so i have a lopsided square look. I’m really disappointed after having such a good experience my first time. Also, they said the wait would be 30 minutes but 2 hour later, i still hadn’t been spoken to.
I want to give this place 0 stars. I went in Tuesday 11/13 for a fill in for ombré nails, nothing was wrong with my nails at all, I just wanted them to look more fresh. The lady is extremely rough and rude with my nails btw. Wednesday night my index finger nail was lifting up at the bottom already. Came back Thursday 11/15 because my index nail popped off. I came back with my nail that popped off and everything. The lady said that I would be charged if I wanted it fixed. Which is bs because I came back in the two day grace period. Mind you that nothing was wrong with my nails when I first came it. She laughed and said it’ll be five dollars if I wanted her to glue it back on. These people are horrible. I’ve been in here three times, gave $10 tips and everything because I believe in tipping people just because I’m a good person. The service is terrible though, the prices are high for mediocre work. My original set of ombré only cost $40 somewhere else. I got charged $35 for a raggedy fill in and horrible customer service. Ladies and gentlemen please save your time and money. Go elsewhere.
Won’t send my wife to this salon anymore! She was there for over an hr and never received service. Told me about how she was never was greeted and treated poorly compared white customers. No manager in site. Save your money people!
I love it
Jenny is the best nail tech i love her and her work😘😘
Not enough nail techs to handle large clientele... the nail techs have no real sense of urgency, it’s just like a routine for them..
This was my second time visting this nalon salon and now my last. They are completely under staffed and dont value every clients time. They are extremely selective over whos time they value. The receptionist/nail tech with colored hair was completely RUDE!! She has a nasty attitude and did not explain the sign in policy accurately to me. Two young ladies had waited almost 3 hours for manicures, the receptionist/ nail tech stop and majorly accmodated their time. Almost an hour later and older women was waiting for eyebrows for almost 2 hours she proceeded to walk out. Do you think the receptionist/ nail tech accmodated the lady or asked her was she leaving???? The answer is NO!!! The only reason I stayed was because this was my only option. The salon itself is nice but if you value a nail salon that values your time and values you as a customer then this is not the place for you. Never Again!!!
Happy Nail in shopping center next to post office has women in there that has worst customer service I have ever experience. Not only did I wait an hour and half . I was told to different prices and it ok, I then decide to get gel overly. When asking her the different between the dip and gel. The rude lady was talk talking to me like I’m suppose to know the difference. I don’t really get my nails done, let me tell you the last time I did was it was 4 week. It was a fill -in at Happy Nails it was my first and last every going back in there. As I let her do my nails she speaks in rude way about the light green spots on nail, saying you a fungus very rudely, I told her I had that from taking off nail 4 week ago and had been putting nail treatment on them. Then she ask take pic of my nails, I said why, so I want come back and say they did. I want because they have been treated. So I let her take pic nd then ask how are going know that my nails? So she proceeds, then start cut the three fake nails, I pull my hand back and told her you didn’t ask me what length. She say honey with attitude you want gel or not. I’m like look at her like who are you talking too. I smile and said just go ahead, she cut the other two, jumps up and start yelling “say somebody else can do your nail... we dont need your money. Jenny who works there tells her you don’t talk customers like that, she continues to say we don’t need her money . As I seat in the chair shock out my mind !! Customers looking around as horrible nail tech yells at Jenny, again talking about me in there language!! I take the nails off and walk out without saying a word.I have never been spoken to like that ever, Im a store manager would never speak to customer in that manner. I will never go back or refer anyone there, the people I did tell . I will make sure they are aware of the rudeness disrespectfulness that Happy Nail allow towards customers. I make sure you don’t get the hard working money of women, in Hyde Park with the kind people you have working there!! If was rating for no star the need.
