This has been the best nail salon experience Ive had here in Chicago. The ONLY PLACE I ever felt cared for and not just a number, hurried to get in and out. Mona was attentive, caring, and truly a pleasant energy! Id recommend this spot to anyone looking to feel seen and truly cared for during their services. I made an appointment 3 weeks in advanced because it’s that booked in here!Jk, but I went with my boyfriend and it was harder to get a slot for 2 people.Anyways! They provided great service I loved that they take your time and it’s a really cute and cozy place. My boyfriend enjoyed his experience and well my no-chip did not want to come off lol!

I really loved the pedicure here! They were really kind to my 5 year old nephew and treated him with so much warmth. The manicure was alright but the pedicures are really nice here.

Went there for a first time and definitely will be back! The stuff is friendly and ladies did a great job! Also don’t forget to schedule an appointment I just got lucky and a guy at a front desk let me in for services right away since I just walked in. The place is clean and looks really cool. I totally recommend this salon!

It is a great place, loved my mani-pedi. Just wish the nail techs talked more. It seems like the place should be more integrated in mexican culture or at least knowledgeable since its located in rogers park.

This is a great establishment, go story support your local small businesses! My pedicure is still great a week later and Im sure it will be next week and the week after! The space was cozy and comfortable, I loved it.

Great place, my no chip nails usually last 2+ weeks. Owners and staff are friendly, music is good, and usually have decent stuff on tv. Great with covid precautions. Temp, wash hands, and plastic partitions.

I received a mani/pedi here for the first time & I loved it! The staff is super friendly and they have a COVID protocol which made me feel comfortable. It feels good to have a little normalcy in a safe way.I can’t wait to go back.

I love this place. Theres always parking right in front. The main guy that answers phones and make appointments (Im so bad with names, sorry) is amazing. You can text for appointments. I feel like the nail techs actually care about what theyre doing. Communicating with everyone was breeze. Felt very safe during Covid.

Found this spot based on google reviews :-) Got mani/pedis here prior to my wedding with my mom sister and grandma a few weeks ago. They were fantastic. It is a really cute salon and all of our aestheticians were great. Clean, prompt and did a lovely job. They were gentle with my mom and grandma who don’t get their nails done often. Two weeks later and my gel manicure and regular polish pedi are both still pristine!

She did my fabulous pedicure a week ago. The acting proclaimed manager/co-owner needs to go back to “customer service” school. ZERO ETHICS!!!!... VALUE YOUR CUSTOMERS.Became involved in a conversation between myself and manicurist over a discoloration on my middle finger nail due to a past acrylic overlay....quickly to call out “Illinois stature on hygiene blah blah and STOPPED MY SERVICES”...I had a “FUNGUS”???!!!...... will not go into details, except to say RUDE, INSULTING AND unacceptable behavior!.... NOT a Manager/co-owner behavior. I am still in shock.Offered to pay for services **NOT**RENDERED AND SHE TRIED TO REFUSE...(employee did half the work and deserved gratuity).... my tip $10.00 for unfinished work. Still happy to pay her for services rendered. Not her fault!Still in shock, I advised her to work on her skills (Maybe she had a long sad miserable day..... trying to find reasons to excuse her “crazy”)...STILL I complimented the salon and my first initial past experience. I will be back regardless I said to her!!!!!.... Her response, YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED BACK!.... WHAT???.... More insults???I will be taking this complaint to the better business bureau. I have never in 51 years been so insulted and disrespected.... one would think I had leprocy. All over a green nail discoloration. Left to do my own nails 24hrs before my travels. This is a really cool place. It is small but the inside is really open. It does not feel cramped at all. It has a fresh vibe and is a great place to spend half the day pampering yourself.Before I get to the actually services, let me tell you...this place is BYOB. Thats right..you can bring your own wine or other adult beverage. Its a great idea if you are going there with some friends. I could definitely see a bridal party coming there and enjoying their time.The services are what you would expect. I think its $17.00 for a manicure and $25.00 for a pedicure. The stand out service is why you keep coming back. Mona is so patient and friendly. She really makes the experience enjoyable. After all, getting your nails done is quite boring, but the experience is what makes it manageable. Alcohol and good conversation...it cant get any better.

Love this place! Im definitely not the typical type to get a manicure or pedicure, but everyone, especially the owner, made me feel welcome and comfortable. I got a pedicure--it was very well done, and nearly 2 weeks later, my toes still look and feel wonderful. Its a clean place (that should go without saying) and their prices are very reasonable. I live in the neighborhood but I would go out of my way to go there. Already have a second appointment!

My daughter who goes here regularly with her daughter brought me in Saturday for some girls time.This place has a great vibe to it. At no time did I feel anything other than relaxed and comfortable. I cant believe I lived around the corner from this salon and it took me 3 years to visit. Its small and funky and not your typical nail salon vibe -- bright decor, no odors, super clean. I love the selection of vegan nail polishes and the spa pedi goes WAY beyond just the nice chair. Its like, a 4-step process including paraffin that leave your feet super smooth. If youre looking for a local gem where youll be greeted with hot tea, a vigorous massage pedicure chair, and a lovely, welcoming staff -- stop on in. I just found my new regular nail salon.

Such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I walked in, was greeted by name (I made my first appointment over the phone and it was my first time there), and was offered tea or water. Everyone was very professional and friendly. My nails and feet are exactly what I wanted. I also couldnt get enough of the massage chair. Ill be back!

I love this salon! From the moment I walked in, I was treated with friendly and welcoming faces. I had a a walk-in for gel/no chip manicure and regular pedicure and was seen right away. The owner and all of the staff was so kind. The salon is impeccably clean and decorated beautifully. Their prices are very fair and their work is detailed yet efficient. They always do a great job so my mother took her granddaughter for a manicure and the kiddo loved it! Professional staff, relaxing atmosphere, they take their time and always do a stellar job on my nails.

Everyone working here was very enjoyable to be around. The service was great. They took their time and were quite meticulous. I saw strong attention paid to keeping stations and tools clean. I came in on crutches, post surgery, they were very accommodating, patient and understanding. The only thing Id change is to enjoy their byob policy next time.

Staff at gingerslam are so friendly and nice they are accommodating. When you go in they are for you coffee or tea and water and I think its really nice. I have gone two or three times now. Becky is friendly, lively, and very chatty nice to be around. Mona is quiet and will talk to you if like or let you meditate while she sculps your nails and massages your back at the end. I feel like they have great knowledge and its a warm and inviting environment. I like them all, especially Mona. They have highboy tables where you get your nails done not always the most comfortable you could ask for a foot rest and they are happy to accommodate you. Located in Chicago on Clark Street and if you cant find free parking on the side street then you have to pay for meter parking on Clark.

Gingerslam was recommended to me by a good friend, after living in Chicago nearly 5 years going from random salon to random mediocre salon. I wish I would have known about this place sooner!! Another highlight of Rogers Park, they do an amazing job! Very comfortable atmosphere, very accommodating staff. Being in the bar industry my nails get wrecked and they have never had an issue bringing them back to life! They are BYOB and if you would rather have a coffee or an amazing smoothie Cafe El Meson is to their right. Cant be beat!! 😎💁🏻☕️💕👍🏽

Loved the fellow who greeted me, one of the owners. But the nail technician I was assigned to must have been having a bad day... I get it if someone isnt feeling chatty, but she avoided all eye contact, and stared off towards the front door for most of the time she was working with me. It was really uncomfortable... I wish Id asked for a different tech right when I noticed it first. She did do a good job, but it just feels like she wanted to be anywhere other than with me. :(

The women of my entire bridal party got pampered and treated like queens and all came out with awesome nails.

I visited this NailBar for the first time yesterday. I went in with a broken nail and little hope it would be saved. My nail tech, Jhulie, did an amazing job. Unlike other places Ive been to, I didnt feel rushed. Jhulie patiently repaired my stubborn nail and did a great job on my no-chip mani. The massage with the almond lotion was a plus! I already made my 2nd appointment. 😁💜

This place is amazing!!!! It was the best experience. We were a bridal party that came in. They were so accommodating. We ended up having the place to ourselves. They were nice and understanding when two people in the party didn’t show up. It’s hard to plan group events and pay the consequences. Not only that, but the bride to be forgot to put on breathable nail polish for religious reasons. So after having her mani/pedi done she was crying and just not happy. It had nothing to do with the service because Lisa offered to take it off and redo it if she’d like but the bride to be felt bad. Trevor ended up asking me if it’s okay to go out and buy some just for her because he couldn’t bear to see her crying. It was the sweetest thing and then her tears became tears of joy!!! And happiness and love!!! Because she felt so loved in that moment!!! Everything happens for a reason. And we were meant to go here!! Love the staff. The service!! All of it!!!

Not your usual nail spot. The cashier/host/manager/owner, not sure, was more than accommodating, ie; water, local guide book, next door food menu. I came in without an appointment, which is rare for this establishment, they are primarily appointment based. The lovely Mona took care of my winter damaged feet (I mean scaley here people) with gentle care, and they came out perfect, beatiful, and amazing! I was expecting a full on sand down with my kicks, but Mona was completely gentle, quick, and efficient. The place is a BYOB, so I will be returning with many friends in tow... And by appointment of course! Thank you GingerSlam!!

The BEST - incredibly clean, upscale atmosphere. Very detail oriented - down to the gorgeous Netflix nature videos playing on their tv and the stellar playlist. Attentive staff - great at their jobs, picked up on my personality and the experience I was looking for right away. BYOB!! Wish I could give them more stars - will be back soon.

Stumbled upon Ginger Slam randomly looking for somewhere to get a mani/pedi without going too far (I live in edgewater). Ive never gotten my nails done at the same place twice in my life, and Ive never even gotten my nails done twice in a three month period.. until I found Ginger Slam! Love the atmosphere, love the facility, love the staff (Cayce!).. and you cant beat BYOB. Prices are competitive and affordable, and totally worth every penny for what you get. if you want clean, quality, and fun sassy conversation, this is your place 😻

Didnt like it at all its mostly more of appearances than what is actually is, also felt like the staff was rude, example im supposing that one of there regular customers came in a little bit before i was about to leave and right away they offered her tea or water....... uhm how come i didnt get offered any? and then thats when she realized she didnt offer me any and shes like oh im sorry would you like some, i straight up yold her no thank you but with a straight face, like dont try to play it off.... the only thing i liked about this nail salon was mona she went out of her way to do my no chip... thank you so much you deserve to work in a better place hopefully youll find somewhere better your too good for here
