Its a really good gym and the staff is helpful and friendly. the only issue I have is thisI did the 3 day trail so gave them my CC # to put on file and paid the 15 dollar deposit. after the 3 days decided it wasnt for me so I went on Thursday 4-29 to return the Key FOB and get my 15 deposit back. The gentleman at the front desk told me you just keep the keep it and there is no refund. its in the registration email. I was like ok, so I went back and re-read the email and here is what it says. For your reference, here are the details of your membership: Registration is required for all facility accesstours, personal training, membership, and trialsFill out all information accurately and bring in legal photo identification for records and verification.A valid credit card will be kept on file for trials, memberships, training, and pass access.Key Fobs will be issued with a $15 refundable deposit for access and check in tracking. so if you do the 3 day trail just know you will no get the refund if you decide not to join the gym. Just a FYI
When I first was looking to move to Chicago – a boxing gym was one of the primary requirements I had followed by location and so forth. Over the last 2 years or so this gym has drastically improved with full changing rooms, lockers, a place to flip tires and so much more! At the same time this gym is perfect for women and men. Plenty of classes where it’s a mixture of both. To add on – a lot of legitimate boxers come here to train and it’s fun to see what you could be one day. The owner and staff are really nice to everyone and coming here feels like everyone after time knows your name. Coming here is like joining a new family that all support you. They also have a lot of trainers available if you want a one on one but at the same time those trainers have no problem to just give you a couple tips here and there. They are looking to enhance the gym even more. The downstairs is fantastic as well – so much room and at feels often like you have the space all to yourself! They are pushing for more cross fit options and classes.Overall if you would like to work out and actually learn to box (not just hit a bag for the sake of cardio) this is your gym. I have tried many and this wins by far none!
I want to love this gym but half the people don’t wear a mask or wipe down the equipment. The employees don’t wear a mask properly nor enforce the rule. I truly did not feel safe working out here. They should temporarily close down until they can abide by the COVID guidelines.
Just to keep things updated. Moving a block away to a new location was a difficult transition and added new obstacles but overall was a blessing. With the new facility there are locker rooms with full showers, changing area, plenty of lockers, and the place is nicely temperature controlled with heat and AC. For working out there are all the heavy bags a boxer could want and its and olympic lifters dream with 122 ft of lifting rigs throughout, as well as rowers, air dyne bikes, and various cardio and weight machines.
If youre looking for a clean, well staffed, well lit gym I would go elsewhere. If youre looking for a place thats dingy and dirty with the potential for some power tools to be laying around the gym floor on any given day, this is your spot. They seem pretty flexible on occupancy and class size restrictions as well which may be a draw for some people. I, personally, found the place to be unprofessional and unfriendly. 2 Stars would not recommend.
Hands down the best place I have been to exercise and hone skills. Boxing, MMA, weights, cardio, excellent employees and ownership. And now all day everyday 24 hours.Full size boxing ring, and one of the boxing coaches worked with a former UFC heavyweight champion.Im confident in saying that everyone can find an activity they will enjoy
Love the boxing classes and the members! What a great fitness community!
I love this place! Whether youre looking to lift, crossfit, or box the space is great. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly, plus the music is always very upbeat and will definitely hype you up. Johnny is the best! Hes very down to earth, and is very knowledgeable and supportive. I have been able to achieve fitness goals I always wanted to, but never really thought I could.
Not one person wears a mask while working or working out here. Very disappointing.
Great boxing program. I’ve been going to Arturo for 7 months and enjoy it every time.
Love this place. Daniel is the best trainer, I just wish I didnt live so far from here! Dying to go back.Great bare-bones gym. The trainers are really invested in you, and very experienced in martial arts workouts.Parking options arent great, and there wasnt much in the way of locker room options, but honestly, I dont go to the gym for the locker rooms. This place a cheap, but if you want excellent trainers, exciting options, and a motivating environment, this place is worth it.
Love my gym
I went there today, and this fella. He was very big, and of African descent. He told me that I had to leave because last time I was there I didnt want to take a tour
This is the best gym for serious physical training. Come here if you want to really push yourself outside your comfort zone.
I love working out I want to try it out
The best!
Small gym and small and cold locker room 3 days u can try it for free or can be free membership with your insurance
Bare bones gym with plenty of boxing equipment and space for crossfit workouts. There are minimal facilities, lockers, amenities, etc. If you want a place you can work hard and get hyphy this is it. If you want a clean place with helpful staff and an encouraging or collaborative environment this isnt.It seems more of a collective of private trainers than a full service gym. They have classes that are add-on charges to the base membership and can get pretty territorial. I think they opened in the past year or so, so they continue to make changes - hopefully for the better. For better or worse, this gym does the bare minimum and leaves the rest to you.
Awesome gym for olympic lifting, crossfit oriented workouts. If youre serious about exercise, and youre not in it just to hang out, this is the best place Ive found in Chicago.Cant wait to take some boxing classes.
My old gym, have been training there every single morning. Miss this place!
Listen this is a no frills, lets get your @ss in shape kind of place. Its probably going to remind you more of your high school weight room, than your local FFC/Equinox....for me that was the draw. I wanted to get back to my grassroots of training. And you know what, I have seen pretty good results. As an active Triathlon racer, biker, swimmer, runner, hiker, skier...I have surpassed the plateau I was stuck at while going to FFC. My bike speed is way up, my run time, way down, and weight loss with muscle gain is going better than ever without as much concentration on dieting.Yeah, if I am in a bind, when the weather is horrible and I need to bike 40 miles, I go to FFC where I still have a membership...but I go to Reach to get results.
This gym is great lots of open classes and the personal trainers are amazing!!!!!ask for a session with jason hell get you results BOOM!!!
Not your mediocre gym...
This is the spot!
