Best gym Ive honestly ever been to specially if your looking for a real gym. The owner joe is a super cool dude and they are making the gym bigger soon. The equipment is dope there are machines there I haven’t been able to find in any other establishment. I would highly recommend this facility.

I have been a member here for the last few years. And since then the gym has never stopped improving. Joe the owner consistently puts his entire heart and soul into accommodating all of his members as much as he can. Can’t wait to see what happens with the expansion of the facility coming in the next couple months. As long as this gym stands I will continue to support it and would recommend it for anyone looking to join!

As someone with a powerlifting focus, Ive been meaning to find a solid black iron gym for years. Ive been lifting for 12+ years with a laughably cheap grandfathered rate at LA Fitness (formerly Ballys), and after years of dealing with crowds of people doing silly things on squat racks and benches from various locations, I decided to finally branch out and find a secondary gym.Firstly and most importantly, its not overly crowded. Granted, Ive only been to Iron Mine twice, but so far, Ive walked in and gotten a squat rack or deadlift platform with absolutely no problem at around 8 PM both visits. Id regularly wait 10-15 minutes at pretty much any LA Fitness location to snag a rack at that time. Also, theres a neat little caged outdoor area with a single squat rack, which Ive never really seen before. Its kind of cool and unique to utilize while the weather is fair.Additionally, theres a bunch of accessory machinery here. While I dont personally really do anything outside of compound barbell lifts, if your focus is more bodybuilding oriented, youll have everything you need. Joe (the owner) is a friendly and personable dude, who seems to want to continue improving the facility with an actual knowledge base, versus the larger gyms that are at the whims of corporate.There are a few cardio options to coincide with the weight lifting equipment, so fear not -- youll be able to run, bike, or Stairmaster your way to a healthier heart. This is a gem of a spot for anyone who enjoys lifting weights or bettering themselves physically. Highly recommended.

This gym is no joke, plenty of machines and weights for all sorts of workouts imaginable, and great atmosphere! It’s my first month and everyone including the owner (Joe) are nothing but friendly and supportive in your fitness journey! Overall an awesome gym! If you’re scared I suggest you go to church!

Love this place, a welcome change from commercial big box gyms. Great selection of bodybuilding equipment with 24/7 access and an affordable price. Everyone is there to WORK so it is rare to be waiting for equipment to free up. Plus gym dogs!

If you’re looking for a a gym with excellent facilities at a fair rate, Iron Mine is your place. The gym is packed with a wide variety of free weights and machines allowing you to do nearly any exercise imaginable. But more than, the best thing about Iron Mine is the owner and culture he has created for his business. Joe is a super nice dude who runs a no nonsense gym. Joe is strict with his gym’s rules, but that’s because they’re all critical to maintaining a functioning community at the gym. If you’re tired of watching someone text on the bench while you wait to lift or listening to 3 dudes chat it up for an hour on the squat rack, that’s never something you’ll have to worry about at iron mine. Joe also cares about his members, despite only joining recently, Joe made a personal effort to locate a key fob I lost in the gym and hold onto it until I could come pick it up.Iron Mine is a great gym for anyone serious about working out

Love this place and probably at some point I will be canceling my Xsport membership. Id much rather give my money to a smaller family owned gym and watch them grow. This place has everything you need to get in, get your workout done, and get out. Never cramped, love the atmosphere, and cant wait to see what expansion they have planned 👏🏻.

When I think of a gym, I look for a place where I can come in, feel no judgement, come in grind, and meet some great people, that is what Iron Mine Gym has provided for me. I had an incredible journey going from 270 pounds to currently 215 in the past year, and along the way I was able to make friends and people that were willing to give me any advice to help me along the way. Can’t ask for a better gym, 24/7, has everything you need in a gym for a good workout and the owner is very personable. Been here for over a week and haven’t walked into an overly packed gym. Came from LAfitness that didn’t even have all the weight sets and I’m paying less here. Thanks Joe for this blessing of a gym.

North side’s best kept secret, clean respectful and all the specialized equipment for an advanced trainer. I’ve been training since 1992, all the way from the west to east coast, couldn’t be happier with the layout, rating one of my top 3 places to train. Young man, a lot vested gives me comfort to know the doors will stay open- highly recommended

Love this place after literally the first day. People are very friendly and are willing to help you out with any questions unlike xsport employees who don’t know the difference between a dumbbell and barbell. Great staff and atmosphere, gym gives off hardcore vibes and just makes me want to get more pumped then ever. 10/10 would recommend this gym to anyone who is about the gains and sick of mainstream gyms.

I completely Love iron mine gym, it is a private owned gym, which when I was looking for gym memberships really sparked my eyes, and had an x-port membership in the past and I don’t think any gym can compare to iron mine, the energy is great in there, I’ve never had a problem with having to wait for equipment like at x-port when it’s always packed in there, and the people there also are great and never leave their weights around which really is a great sign for me when I first got there. If anyone is looking for a gym membership I would 100% recommend getting a membership at iron-mine gym.

Iron mine is the greatest place I ever found. I use to go to xsport but ever since I switched to iron mine I will never be going back. Joe is a passionate owner who will always reply to his guests in a timely manner no matter what the issue is. I have been to I would say 8 gyms since I was 18 years old and I can say without a shadow of a doubt the iron Mine gym is one of the most professionally managed gym Ive been to. Everyone is friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is memorable. Good power lifting gym. If you want the bare necessities and none of those amenities this place is the spot. Everyone comes in, gets their workout done and leaves. No one is on their phones and members don’t hog the equipment. Great vibe.

Not your average gym. Which is great.I was tired of the big, always crowded, gym life prior to coming to Iron mine. I wanted to join an atmosphere where obtaining your goals was the prize. Enter Iron mine which I found on this very platform, searching for a no nonsense, just work gym. Spoke to Joe the owner and he was no short of amazing, answered all my questions, had left his gym open 24/7 with fob access and had innovative workout machines and techniques that would allow me to maximize my potential. The rest was all up to me.Flash forward I definitely received more than I bargained for, the community within the gym was nothing short of family. We shared laughs, stories, the trainers work there are amazing. They wont hesitate to answer a question you may have, show you a different way of doing something and correct you if they see you about to do something they would deem to cause you injury. Their services are available for 1 on 1 sessions where they truly push you to obtain your goals. Fantastic gym etiquette, The community challenges you, pushs you and compliments you. Something I hadnt had since I was in the Marine Corps.I highly recommend this gym if your looking to getaway from people not racking their equipment, not wiping it down, sitting on equipment while talking or facetiming when all your doing is trying to work. This gym eliminates those habits to make the gym more enjoyable to attend.I have since moved but will always come back to Iron mine when Im in town. Its a home away from home.

This gym my not be as big as xsport but the people that go to this gym are the nicest people on earth. The owner of the gym “Joe” is probably the most laid back guy ever but he gets the job done and is very easy to make conversation with. The gym setup is great. Everything you need to get on that grind is in the gym. Go see for yourself

This is by far my favorite gym in the Chicago area. Before this gym I was going to Xsport and just hated everything about it. I decided to give this gym a try and immediately felt at home. Its a little smaller but the environment and atmosphere is on a different level and make it worth while. Its got everything you would ever need and the people here are serious about fitness. They arent on their phones and texting the whole time taking up machines. People get in and handle business and move on. Ive met a lot of great people here and made some cool connections and I only look forward to what the future has in store here. If youre on the fence about joining a more serious gym I would absolutely recommend giving this one a shot. You wont be disappointed. Iron Mine Gym is the place to take your training to the next level.

Since last month the doors had to close because of covid-19 I miss going to the gym 💪 and I cant wait for it to reopen so we can all get back doing the things we love to do. The people and atmosphere of Iron Mine are top shelf. Simple and fair pricing. The owners/managers are very personable and always willing to answer any questions you might have. Bo the gym dog is the best boy. Joe is great! I was initially a bit nervous because I joined not having done any serious weightlifting in the past, but I dont think Id be where I am now physically/fitness wise had I joined some other gym (after 5 months, theres still a lot of work to do!)Update after a year: Still rockin. Bo is still the best boy. Still highly recommended.

Dont mistake this place for a fitness center or a health club. This my friends is a GYM! And I mean that in a good way. Places like this existed before the cookie cutter sterile commercial fitness clubs took over. Of course there were fewer in number but thats where some of Chicagos top physiques emerged from. I hope this place continues to thrive.

Great workout. Fast paced, which makes it go by pretty quickly. Its best for folks that are used to working out though, since form is important and youre going so fast.

Visited this gym several times while in the Chicago area. Affordable day pass rates, and had everything I needed for a workout. Liked all of the equipment that I dont have access to at my home gym. Owner is very nice, and the atmosphere makes for a good workout.

This gym is perfect for people seeking a place to workout that is not crowded and doesnt have the commercial atmosphere most gyms have. The equipment and facilities are excellent. The staff are very friendly people and very understanding. I was on a budget and could not afford the commercial gyms, so I talked to the owner of Iron Mine Gym. He was very understanding of my situation and was able to give me a membership at a very affordable cost. I would definitely recommend this gym to others!

This gym is absolutely outstanding! The manager who runs the gym knows his members by name, takes time to get to know them and does everything he can to accommodate them. He has members that stop in his office to say hi because they enjoy talking to him and are extremely satisfied with their gym experience. He is very of understanding of those who decide not to become a member after they try their free week trial. As far as not caring about canceling members I have witnessed him in the process of members who wish to cancel and it was done easily as a phone call and turning in their key fob unlike some other gyms who make the cancelation process extensive. The manager asks those member who cancel their membership the reason for cancelation if they are willing to share so the manager can make the gym better. I have not had a bad experience for the past 7 months of being a member.

Its a fun, energetic environment where you set personal goals for yourself while also being challenged by your coaches and peers. Its amazing.

Ok facilities but the worst staff ever, the managers are just after your money and dont care about anything else (dont want to name here who) very pushy when you take a visitor with you, just want to sell their product to you. i first wanted to cancel my girlfriends membership but when they treated us this way, asked us to come in for an appointment, i cancelled mine, my girlfriends and my frieds membership. and the manager did not even care!!! words go far.Im giving you only two stars because of the trainers there and the facilities.
