Emily was great and very helpful. She was good at communicating and was very friendly. Would definitely recommend!
Bryan was awesome getting me set up to come to LA Fitness from out of town. I’ve been an LA Fitness member in Indianapolis for years and had a great experience here. I highly recommend getting a membership here when moving to Wrigleyville area.
Great club with great staff! I am a newer member switching from another fitness club in Chicago, and I could not be happier about my choice to change clubs. The manager of the club, Nick, made the transition simple and very easy. He was also very nice during the orientation to the club and answered all of my questions without any issues. The club is also very clean and has more than enough equipment. Great club overall and highly recommend.
Brian was very professional in getting us set up with access to the gym while in town. All around a very pleasant experience!
This club is amazing. It has everything you need and the staff is super friendly. If you want to get a membership, I really recommend to talk to Nick who is the manager. He will help you find the best option for you in an easy way without spending a lot of time. Thanks again Nick!
Excellent bang for your buck. Conveniently located and has everything you need in a gym. Nick was a huge help – a consummate professional who will take the time to sit down with you to discuss a plan regardless of the circumstances. This gym is in good hands!
Did the 5 day trial pass and didnt feel the membership was as good of a value as Fitness19 considering that I didnt plan on using the pool. Clean facility and lots of equipment, but felt the vibe was a little too serious for what Im looking for. Still a little annoyed that the staff member who gave my boyfriend and I a tour spoke directly to my boyfriend the entire time...
TLDR: Work with Nick if you want to have a great customer service experience. After seeing myself in the mirror and realizing the damage COVID19 did around my waist, I decided it’s time to start rehabilitating myself to better fit in with society when things return to normal.I figure the great reopening is probably the best time to do so.Nick took care of me. He gave me a tour of the facilities, explained the benefits of joining LA fitness, and welcomed me as a member. I highly recommend new members to work with him.
Gym etiquette just doesn’t exist here flat out. Weights are all in the wrong places or just missing, weight clips are nearly all missing, people just take dumbbells on a journey across the gym so they can do curls by the pull up bar, and then just leave them there. No one wipes down their equipment after using it. Out of all the LA Fitnesses I’ve been to, this one is by far managed the worst. Also not much is offered in the way of classes or personal training. I don’t even think there are classes. I’ve never seen one take place here and I’ll come by at pretty varied times so it’s not like they just happen to not be occurring while I’m here. Aggressively bad considering the neighborhood it’s in. I’d rather go to an LA Fitness in south side honestly.
Bryan P has been great to work with and made getting started really easy. Enjoying the gym so far — the views of the city are 👌 👍
Great local gym! Bryan P. was super helpful in getting us set up with memberships.
This gym really has everything you need (pool, hot tub, free weights, machines, cardio machines, studio, stellar view, you name it!). Nick welcomed us into the gym and got us all set up, he was incredibly helpful, kind, and made sure we were getting set up with the membership that best suited our needs. Highly recommend this gym and asking for Nick when you get there!
Great gym. Everything you need. Brian the manager is great.
Bryan was incredibly helpful and the facilities were clean and nice! Was able to workout while visiting the city and keep up with my routine!
When signing up for a new membership I was nothing but appreciative of Nick Greys incredible service that he provided. He was insightful, resourceful, and extremely amicable! Could not have asked for better assistance!
Emily was extremely helpful and nice. I highly recommend this gym.
Bryan was very helpful with a tour of the facility! Would definitely recommend this gym!
This place is vile. I tried to access the gym today at 8am. A manager called Brian, addressed me as OY YOU, literally like he was calling a dog. I was so appalled the way he did it that, i asked him. Do you have any manners? At this point this escalated and he refused to let me in, plus threaten to call the cops. I am stunned how, some people like him, who has a job thanks to us, does not have the basic manners, of:Greeting politelyAcknowledging peopleCalling people by their nameAnd use overall some kind of customer service.Sadly there are no proper gyms in my area and we are at the mercy of incompetent corp america, that place incompetent people to save a buckYou better off woking out at you back yard using stones or any other heavy items. One, Two, repeat.
I moved to this gym after using the one on lawerence (which deserves a review on its own). After thefts, broken equipment, rude staff, and lack of cleaning/covid protocols, I decided to cancel. No one in the gym could tell me left from right when I inquired about canceling. I was mostly interested in a freeze because it was the best gym deal in the area and I just haven’t felt comfortable with covid and the fact lockers get broken into on a daily basis it seems. I wouldn’t join this gym if you don’t plan on committing to it. Keep in mind, it’s pretty dirty compared to any other la fitness. The workers are also just there for a paycheck, which is fine, but also help me.
Oh, I am losing all the INDOOR, QUARANTINE COVID-19 WEIGHT! SWIMMING AND CIRCUITS TRAINING. FEELING GOOD! ORITE: LETS GO GET EM!
The gym is nice and all of the other comments about the staff professionalism I agree with tremendously. The only downside is that the wifi does not work at all. If the wifi gets fixed I’ll change my review and rating. Still an overall great gym and would recommend!
Pretty smile at reception, little older machines but smile made. it okay. thank you
Visiting from outta town. Bryan made our Visit to the gym great!
Great service! Brian looked after me, great guy!
Brian hooked me up with a visitor pass. The pool was closed that day so I hoofed it to another location. Plenty of open machines at both locations. Clean. Didn’t see enough to give it a true rating, but nothing wrong besides the surprise pool maintenance.
I had a great experience with Bryan when I had questions and needed help. The service was quick, easy and professional!
Nick the General Manager at this LA Fitness was very respectful and helpful when I spoke with him! He answered all my questions and was very kind. Definitely recommend this location and will definitely be coming back! Thank you!
Great experience with Nick.He was wonderful and helped me and my dad out so much!Great place too!
Great facility. Cleaning stations throughout. Great staff and under new management, Nick and Bryan.
Since the gym has fully reopened they have had issues with maintaining the pool area to the point that its at least shut down once a week on a weekly basis. You would think that after 18 months of no service they should have been on top of maintaining the pool periodically.
Outstanding service. Nick was very helpful in setting up services in a quick and efficient way so I could get to working out as fast as possible.
Save yourself some money. Not one persons fault but collectively it is a poorly managed show.Short term customers. We put in a request 6 times for our membership to be canceled before the contractual date where an annual fees gets kicked in, but the gym never canceled it until our card got charged. When asked about applying a refund, they were less than courteous. They said we should contact corporate. When we asked for help to navigate the phone call with corporate in person, their was no ownership. Unbelievably terrible customer service, and we all know what happens to businesses that work this way.
Bryan is the man here. Was very easy to work with and get me set up with my goals. I look forward to coming in!
Nick was awesome in setting up my account! Fast and easy process.
Great facility with amazing views and nice machines. Nick, the manager, was very accommodating and professional.
It is my favorite place, good costumer service, all the areas clean. I like to workout here and yoga 🧘♂️
I went from barely using my Planet Fitness and Xsport memberships to going here consistently. This place motivates me to work out. Lots of room here and plenty of machines, and its not overly packed around 5 PM. The free weight section is particularly great.
Nick the manager was very polite and helpful when answering my questions. The gym had plenty of equipment, was clean, and had beautiful views of Chicago.
Bryan Padilla was a Awesome, great staff and clean environment!
Spread over 2 floors, with a fairly good sized swimming pool, a couple of racket ball play rooms and a spacious yoga and stretches hall also thrown in, its big and airy with a huge array of fully functional machines to take care of each and every component of a humans physique.
Nicholas Stephan was super helpful with the guest pass process and showed us some of the great perks of the gym. I think I’ll be back for a membership!
Amazing place to train. The staff is really friendly.
I inquired about new membership. Staff was very helpful.
Looks bad tge lockers are too old needs renovation parking is $7
Great staff and not too busy. Added plusses, everyone wears masks and compared to others its cheap
Nice gym! Nick was very helpful!
Very clean and on point with the rules and regulations that the city and state mandated. Face masks are practiced by all members. Machines, equipment, and surrounding area are consistently cleaned and disinfected by staff ALL through the day and evening. As for the gym itself, the price is right and equipment works well. Its a gym and it works.
The maintenance in the buildings/outside air use is a bit disturbing with a Pool, coming from someone in the field. I am only writing a review because you guys make it really difficult to cancel. No I do not want to come in right now to cancel, and do not think you need my email to do it. if I can freeze my account over the phone, which comes with charge, I should be able to cancel it over the phone.
The staff was always friendly. We LOVE that there is a spin class every night at 6:30. Andrew, who usually teaches spin on Wednesday, is the best person-place- or thing LA Fitness has to offer. His classes are fun and I certainly sweat more under his direction than with anyone else.I also really enjoyed the pool. It has a great view and the water is always comfortably cool. However, I dont think it is cleaned properly. When I asked about cleaning, I was told the pool is vacuumed MWF- 3 times weekly. Once I started swimming regularly, I realized some pool junk was the same pool junk for weeks on end. After I found a water bottle and a bandaid in the pool on the same day, I was grossed out enough to cut my workout to 3 laps.My boyfriend and I used to go to the South Loop location because it is much cleaner and the equipment seems newer (or maybe it just has less wear and tear form less use?). We got tired of driving to the gym, so we going to the Clark St one in walking distance. On our first visit to this location, my coat was stolen from a locker- I had never locked anything in south loop. But we forgave this unfortunate event. Unfortunately for LA Fitness, walking to the gym is too convenient and another recently opened just blocks away. After touring their facilities and hearing they provide complementary towel service to members, we switched immediately.Ill miss Andrew and the pool view.
Nice space and great staff. I just wish they would turn off cable news!
Equipment is a little older but there’s ample sanitizer, friendly staff, and lots of equipment options. There’s even a great view of downtown from the freeweight room upstairs!
Friendly staff, great environment and enough of different equipment for workouts
Even though this gym has all of the basics, it lacks cleanliness and organization. When I go in the mornings, and mind you I arrive as soon as it opens, a lot of the weights arent racked, there are empty water bottles laying around, and equipment isnt put away. My assumption is that the night crew doesnt do anything before they leave, which shocks me because a gym should aim to stay clean and organized. I understand that I dont pay an insane monthly fee like some of the other gyms charge, but have some respect for your customers. Make them feel welcome and take some pride in the appearance and condition of your gym.
Huge, clean space. Great social distancing procedures.
This is a fully equipped inexpensive gym without any thrills. At all. Gym, weights, pool, exercise classes, cardio machines, sauna, steam room and the staff is friendly. But water from the faucet is entirely frigid and the had dryer air is cold. Like i said, no frills. But it has everything and at the right price. This is where i will always go!
Bryan was great!
I haven’t been the gym since Covid started in March and LA fitness refuses to close my account unless I risk my health to come in IN person. Without even hearing my situation the manager was saying “you won’t get a refund”, who does that? Every situation is different. It’s appalling how they treat their customers. I will never give them my business again and I hope they close down permanently.
Good gym for the price—has everything you could need. Not as nice as other LA Fitnesses, though, and they’re always blasting music way too loud. I can hear it through my earphones.
Came with a member with a guest pass. Cannot use guest pass due to the whole covid but wants to sell me a membership. Why then doe the LAfitness website allowed me to set up a guestpass
It was like coming home; my workout was very productive and after it was over, I felt rejuvenated and my body thanked me. You are welcome 🤗🤗
Gym is pretty worn out, covid restrictions arent heavily followed, and patrons arent pressured to rerack weights
The clientele is not too bright judging by their inability to wear masks incorrectly. Staff dont seem to care.
Nick is the best!
A great place safe and clean happy youre open the staff is very friendly
It’s a gym, your experience here is going to depend on how you value a relatively cheap price membership. Can definitely upgrade a few things but solid nonetheless. Never had a bad experience
Do you have guys car parking ?
Ok, I just recently move to Chicago from miami and I went to this gym for the first time, and margarita she is in the front desk she is so sweet and helpfull I forgot my wallet and she figure it out about the payment of the parking! She is the best! Thank you margarita!
Great workout! The instructors are very attentive, detailed, and give you a fantastic full body session. It is one of my favorite gyms in the city.
Pros: Friendly staff, spacious, clean pool and good variety of equipment.Cons :Water fountain had been scheduled for maintenance for months. The mats are worn and sometimes shereded in half. The microphone for group exercise classes is faulty. If you need hand sanitizer you need to go to the front desk. Equipment cleaner are not easily. accessible
All you need at a very good price.
Not only are they charging Full membership prices and not having access to all amenities, but they have some staff members that are pretty rude, either over the phone or in person. Years in and it hasn’t changed a bit.
Great gym, but something is always broken. Sometimes its the elevator to get in, or the drinking fountains, or the pool...
Nick is great!
Even if you validate it cost 7 dollars to park.... its also beyond disorganized and run down. Easily the worst LA Ive been to.
Very clean and modern LA fitness. Went there on a Thursday night and was definitely not busy. Much cleaner and organized that other LA fitness. Although having weights strewn around everywhere speaks more to the culture of the people at the gym than about the gym itself
Old, outdated and def not very clean. Also there is a short lady with a long hair in the morning that barks, instead of talking. I wish she had breakfast more often.
Ive been a member for about 6 months. It is an average gym. If you are looking for a poshy place to leisurely spend some time, this is not for you. They definitely put functionality over beauty. The machines are relatively new, and the sauna is wonderful. I have never had any issues with the womens locker room or theft or anything along those.Every time I walk in to the gym the staff member says Hi, and there is always someone there to scan my card. Honestly, that is all I want from staff members at the gym. Anything more would aggravate me. I actually despise having my workout interrupted by anything less than a fire/tornado/zombie apocalypse. I have been interrupted by a staff member about their personal training classes (and he left as soon as I said please leave), and once by an other member who didnt check my left hand for the engagement ring.It gets busy at times, but I have never found myself in a situation where there was nothing I could do. I have also never had any issues with people not putting weights away. Honestly, this is not a luxury spa; it is a perfectly fine, perfectly functioning, basic gym.
It’s a basic LA fitness but the dumbbells don’t make any sense at all. There’s three sets of 95lbs dumbbells and two sets of 25’s. When in the world will there ever need to be three sets of 95’s? Also the weights are strewn everywhere and nothing is really done about it
Great gym, bit why do they all have black mold on the tiles in the showers? Every single LAFitness gym. It only takes a 99 cent plastic bottle filled with bleach. A couple of shots if that and mild dies and is gone. The next time your at any gym in the shower, look up. Youll see black mold. A simple cheap fix too but no one does it.
Trying to cancel my membership has been such a pain. They have so many restrictions and no one is being helpful even when I go into the location.
Great club. Still need to update a few things. But theyll get there.....
Good for its price if u can avoid pick hours.. Not a fancy gym but it has everything. They could have had some more light weights, sometimes looking for 10-25 pound weights feels like doing an FBI research.. !
It has two floors. Nice staff. Lots of equipment, never had any issues
I’m giving them two stars only because their staffs are nice and kind. The whole place needs remodeling. This kind of quality or extremely bad. I’m sure people give up their motivations after coming here a few times. That is what happened to me and now I drive farther to other locations just enjoy the clean and renovated environment.
Great place. Big size, friendly staff.
Its very convenient because of its strategic location. I went there for zumba classes but I didnt signed up due to conflicted dates.
A two story gym offering everything you need for your fitness journey. Extremely clean and well kept areas!Theres a book, suana, racket balls. What a great space
Great location with 2 floors of gym equipment, a pool for laps, sauna and jacuzzi. Also very reasonable pricing! The only downfall I could point out is the cleanlieness. The restrooms usually are smelly and there’s no cleaning utensils for guests to use after they have used the equipment.
Very frustrating, when they ask you to open new account, they act very nice and tell everything is perfect, you can freeze down account online or call them if you don’t use fitness. But, when you wanna freeze your account, it never wotks online and nobody helps you by phone and you need come in person and you still gonna be charged everymonth for your already frozen account. They left my call on hold for hours and after several times calling back and holding phone all day, they told me they can’t do it by phone and I needed to come in person to freeze my and my husbands account. I went there in person and the manager (Joye) told me all set. But several days later I realized that he left my husbands account open and I again contacted that manager and he told me he is gonna do it for me. Now, after 3 months, I found out they charged my account. Again I am contacting with them, unbelievably, Joye is not taking my call and the other coop manager (her name is Amber) told me that She sees it is not their fault because they work very busy (she told me she is busy, but helping costumer is their work, if they busy to help their costumers, what they do) and she is not willing to help me. In conclusion, Once they get you in thier system, get your bank account they never help you and charge, you cannot do anything.
The best place ever
Great variety of equipment, friendly staff, easy parking. Lockers and toilets could use a renovation, and they could do a much better job of controlling whats playing on the Tvs, especially in regards to sporting events. Otherwise very happy with the place.
This gym has the nicest view of all the LA fitness gyms ive been to in Illinois. The staff are very nice and friendly, but the gym needs a cafeteria for protein shakes, and some equipments on the second floor needs to be updated, like the rusty equipments and some more shoulder press chairs and other stuff needs to be added. But its a nice gym, in a good location. :)
I like it, best gym in Lakeview anyway. Huge, pretty well equipped. Not expensive at all. Good working hours. Management is mostly nice. Cool views of the city
I started going to this gym before I moved to Chicago almost 4 years ago. Love the location, staff, and I can get my workout done without feeling claustrophobic.
Less crowded and cleaner than the Ravenswood location, staff is so friendly too!
Is it dirty? Yes. Is it the best price for the equipment? Absolutely. But if you want to really throw down and workout, this location has abundant free weights and the space to use them. Dont sweat people low balling with one and two star reviews. Its all about perception.
The classes are great! I go with my wife to 5 classes per week. The equipment is pretty good. The bathrooms are gross and they need new floor pads. Otherwise, a nice place to workout, they dont bug you for personal training and people get into shape.
Great gym. A little out dated. But plenty of space even during peak hours.
