AMCC is the finest veterinary practice in Chicago. Their facility is state of the Art….staff highly qualified…attentive to all details related to providing for a COVID-19 safe environment. Highly trained doctors and medical assistants. Excellent Communication with patient owners is a top priority. The doctors stay up to date with the latest research. I have been with Dr Solomon and Dr Janick for well over 30 years. All medical personnel are of the same high quality. I rely 100% on the care and treatment my pets receive at Animal Medical Center of Chicago. I recommend them to everyone who is seeking a caring, high quality veterinary practice….you will not be disappointed.
I love this vet office. Organized, professional, efficient, knowledgeable and kind. I never feel like theyre too busy to answer my questions
My wife and I were here to put our cat down, the entire staff and process was compassionate and ample time was given to us for this difficult time.
I had a wonderful experience bringing my dog here for her first visit. They made me and my pup feel so comfortable. The vet and vet techs were very informative.
Amazing service! I am so blown away by how amazing the team here is. Nikki is my hero. My dog Miles was a patient of Dr. England until about 3 years ago when we moved out of state. I am moving again and could not locate Miles microchip number. It was a long shot, but I called to see if Animal Medical Center had it and Nikki answered. She was super friendly, and when they didn’t have the number in the computer, she went through the paper files to find it and texted it to me later! I mean, how amazing is that!?!! Just want to thank you all for everything you did for Miles while we were in Chicago and thanks for continuing to help!!!
Funny how their hours of operation say that they are closed, but they have an employee taking out trash loudly every night at 11:30 pm or later for 15-20 minutes. He had also called me at 10 pm asking me to take out recycling that night that I mistakenly put there. I have repeatedly emailed and called and was even told in writing no one worked there after 9 pm. My other neighbors are complaining as well and it continues. I was told no one would use the side door after hours but Mr 11:30 pm dude disagrees. Throughout the day they bang doors loudly and have people loitering outside even though the pandemic restrictions are lifting. They repeatedly have tried to silence me. I have a colleague who says they refused to see her dog.If you want to operate right next to where people live, you can at least be decent about it.If humans are bothered this much, it must be bothering the animals as well.
We highly recommend Animal Medical Center. They are professional, kind and really care about their patients and their owners. We had to put down our elderly cat and the experience, although very tough, was incredibly thoughtful and respectful on their part. Dr. Yacker in particular has been really lovely to work with, she takes her time to get to you know and your pet, the time and care that goes into those interactions is really appreciated. We never feel rushed or brushed over by the staff. Highly recommend.
Superb first experience with our puppy that had an immediate impact on diet and behavior control recommendations! Great online puppy portal/technology and pre/post appointment communication. Front desk staff was also very helpful during a couple of follow up calls. Also very professional and clean facility and protocols in regards to COVID-19.
Ive used Animal Medical Center of Chicago for about 3years now for my cat Hobbes and theyve been a great resource to have. Im not sure how price compares but a checkup for my cat is like $85. All the vets Ive seen have been extremely thorough and helpful and you can request specific ones after trying them out.
Great experience with Dr. England! He was very thorough, responsive, and went the extra-mile on several of the interactions during my visit for my dog. I highly recommend Animal Medical Center of Chicago for your pet needs!
This is hands down the best veterinary medicine practice Ive ever experienced. Customer service radiates from everyone who works there! The vets are diverse and have broad experience of the animal kingdom. No matter the issue or the pet, they always seem genuinely determined to provide the best possible experience for pets and owners alike. My roommate has a red eared slider who is rapidly approaching 30. A few years ago, she needed to go to the doctor, and we were worried because at that time she had had very little exposure to groups of people. We thought sure she would trash around and try to bite someone. Amazingly, she let them pass her around without a single indication that she was upset. My cat hates to leave the apartment, but once she realizes that she is going to see Dr. England she calms down. Everything about the practice is state-of-the-art, yet the public face of the practice is as warm and homey as can be. We love it there!
Hands down the best vet around! Ive been coming to this clinic since I got my first puppy last summer. She has had a lot GI issues, which can be frustrating and worrisome as a first time dog owner. However, the entire staff has put me at ease. Each visit or call I have with them the doctors and staff are nothing but accommodating, kind, compassionate and experts at what they do. Not only do they show deep care for the animals, but also for us as the client. Many thanks!
I have been taking all of my four-legged family members to Animal Medical Center of Chicago for the past 20 years. They are THE BEST. I know that my pets will receive quality care, I will receive excellent communication, I know that the doctors and staff really do care. I recently moved and am no longer in the neighborhood but I still drive my pets back to AMC.
I can’t say enough about the staff of Animal Medical Center of Chicago! I’ve seen most of the veterinarians there with my pup Marley over the last 2 1/2 years . They are very professional, clearly care about your pet, and do their best provide a fear free environment for my anxious pup. In order to put Marley at ease, Dr. Yacker sat down on the floor with her and gave her her favorite treat of chicken baby food. It definitely put Marley at ease and she showed Dr. Yacker some of her skills, such as high five and spin!If we have a concern about Marley or have test results done, they always call the next day to provide results and check in. Highly recommend!
I absolutely love taking my dog here. We’ve been going for 2 years now. The staff is always friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I know my dog is in good hands. She has had incidents that required immediate attention and the doctors were there for us. Absolutely recommend it
I really enjoyed my experience, I felt that they actually cared about my cat. They were also very helpful in deciding what I needed to prioritize verses what could wait. I didn’t get any sense that this was a place just looking to make money, they cared about my financial situation. I have never stuck with a vet before because I have not yet found a place to go that I really trusted, we will absolutely be coming back.
Dr. Janik has been our veterinarian for all our dogs. She is absolutely the best in gently relieving the dogs anxiety, and throughly examining oir corgi. Debbie, is an excellent technician and always there to assist in every way. Dr.Janik is very calm and explains findings in an very understandable way. We have recommended her to all of our friends. Her genuine love for animals and understanding of their human parents is why we would never want another vet.
We have been going to Animal Medical Centers for more than 10 years now. We love Dr. Ogishi she is the best. We highly recommended this place all the Veterinarians and staffs are friendly and caring.
We take our giant Wolfhound here for his regular care and the staff are always so amazing and helpful. Super responsive to questions and follow up very quickly. We feel very fortunate to have Animal Medical Center close by to help care for our large pup
I have been going to Animal Medical Center for years with multiple pets - both cats and dogs. I would not entrust my pets care to anyone else but AMC. All the doctors and staff are extremely responsive, knowledgeable and best of all, caring. I have the upmost confidence in the medical care they provide to all my furry family members.
We love this place- all of the vets are awesome and support staff is so great. We’ve had a lot of questions and things happen with getting a puppy, and they have been so helpful every step of the way. Plus, our dog literally never wants to leave :)
I just started coming here Tuesday with my sweet girl ILSA hoping they can help my poor girl. I have had terrible luck finding a good caring loving vet for ILSA and terrible luck finding out what her issues are since March. The last vet I went to treated her like shes a monster and even muzzled her when it was not even necessary to do and didnt even want to exam her nor touch her. My dog got extremely sick from stress from being at that vet and had really bad watery diarrhea for 4 days and had an accident at my home. They gave up on her and said their was nothing they can do and send me away to go to a specialist. No findings yet in what is wrong with my dog even with a neurologist specialist. I looked up a fear free vet and animal medical Center popped up. They are also right by me and I wanted to give it a shot. The whole staff was so sweet and loving and extremely interested in gathering all my concerns. They also have a questionare about your animal so they can best make the best positive experience for your animal.Dr. Ogishi was the sweetest and really kind and wanted to do everything possible in ruling out my dogs mysterious behavior and condition. She really shows she cares and has a huge heart of gold. I started to panic this morning seeing my dog not doing well and I emailed the doctor and videos to show her how my dog acts at home and she was so caring to respond and made me feel at ease and gave some advise and was very interested in knowing everything about my dog to figure out how to best help her. I really have strong hope this vet will shine some light and help me get my sweet baby girl happy and active again. I am more than thankful they care to try and help everyway possible for my sweetest baby in the world ILSA. Thank you guys! Crossing fingers some answers will come up soon.
We have been going to Animal Medical Center for years. They have taken great care of our dogs. Kind and professional people with a great staff. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a vet in the Chicago area.
Everyone at Animal Medical Center of Chicago has been exceptional. The customer service is top notch and every vet we’ve seen (3 different ones so far) have been wonderful. I don’t mind going to a different vet if it means I can get in sooner for certain things but usually I see Dr. Simpson and she is wonderful with my puppy. Even with COVID precautions (curbside only), I feel completely confident in them and know they are taking wonderful care of Sully. He gets so excited to see their staff and doesn’t dread going to the vet in the slightest. I’m grateful to their team for making me (and my pup) feel so at ease. The receptionist staff is kind and helpful. If I have questions, a tech will frequently call me back to talk it through which is so nice. I also love that they call to follow up a day or two later to make sure everything is going well after a visit. Truly excellent care! Well worth the slightly higher cost for the attention and quality medical care. You absolutely get what you pay for (in the best way!)
I love this place! I had my moms dog and I needed to take her in, it was hard finding somewhere to go during the pandemic. Not only was it easy to get an appointment as a new client, the staff was also amazing! They knowlegdeble and worked with me to find the best solution I could afford!!! I wish I had a dog so they could be my regular vet.
We are new patients to the Animal Medical Center of Chicago, but have been loyal to our amazing vet Dr. Emily Yacker for our pups entire life. Animal Medical Center of Chicago is a beautiful, fear-free veterinary practice. Weve never been inside due to Covid precautions but the garden outside is idyllic. When we arrive at the door, he sprints inside excited to see all of his friends who all know him and seem to genuinely care about him which we so appreciate. When weve had to leave with medicines, theyve even decorated the bag with his name. The level of care and love they share is truly amazing!Overall, our care with Animal Medical Center of Chicago has been top-notch. Our pup has a number of health conditions including a heart condition that require a lot of careful attention to details. Dr. Emily Yacker and the entire team at Animal Medical Center of Chicago have exceeded our expectations in always getting to the bottom of things and addressing our pups care needs accordingly. We have 110% confidence in their care of our special needs pup.Additionally, weve had two emergency visits with them and all of the vets, nurses, and staff exceeded our expectations in how they handled those emergency situations. One occurred very close to the end of their business day and they made sure to get him in to be seen and care for, saving us 8-10 hours of wait time at the nearby emergency facility. Our other emergency situation was rather scary and they tackled it right away with expert care and attention to detail. Our pup healed almost immediately and was back to his chipper, happy, healthy self.We really cannot say enough about Animal Medical Center of Chicago and especially the most amazing Dr. Emily Yacker who brought us into their family. Thanks for all you do for Chicago families and their furry family members!
This is the first public review I have ever posted for anything. The care that all of my dogs (three over the years) and cat have received from Donna Soloman and her team throughout the years is simply amazing. You wont find a better veterinary practice anywhere. If we left Chicago I would drive hours to take my dogs to see Donna and team. They are caring, professional, integrated and responsive. Donna has an uncanny ability to look at a dog and know what is wrong. Her entire staff works together to help solve issues. Dr Yacker is the best addition to practice and earned the trust of my sick puppy with her caring and attentive nature. She is amazing! If you take your pet anywhere else in Chicago you are making a mistake. Every doctor there has taken care of my pets at one point or another and they have all earned our trust and respect.
Dr. Elaine Simpson and the whole team at AMC are amazing. My dog, Duncan, has had a tumultuous year with a cancer diagnosis, a bad infection, and several complications. It has been challenging for both of us! Dr. Simpson has walked me through every step of the process, has communicated exceptionally, and has given me sound advice. I never feel taken advantage of at AMC. The staff is friendly and compassionate. I can’t recommend Dr. Simpson enough!
We cannot thank the staff and veterinarians enough for helping us navigate our dogs behavior. We were scared and desperate for help, and they were able to squeeze us in the same day. Dr. Ogishi counseled us through all of our options and helped us through the hardest decision we have ever had to make. She spent so much time on the phone with us, answering all of our questions and was extremely compassionate. After experiencing ongoing scary issues with our dog, she prioritized our wellbeing and provided us with the help we so badly needed. She asked us so many questions about his behavior over time, and we felt confident and trusted her expertise. She felt part of our family during this difficult time and made this gut-wrenching day much more manageable and gave us the reassurance we needed. This vet has been an incredible resource for us before we even adopted our dog. When shopping for vets, we asked our top three choices what their process is in an emergency and not only was their answer the most detailed and supportive, but their execution went beyond that. Without a doubt, we feel that the prompt understanding and help that every member of their staff provided saved us and others in our community from severely getting hurt. The decision was devastating, but we cannot wait to set up an appointment in the future when we are ready to bring home a new dog. After hearing our story, our close friends and family agree that Animal Medical Center of Chicago deserves an outstanding recommendation and thank you.
Very caring and professional staff.
I was able to get my kitten in on very short notice, and a good thing too because he was very very sick. They are very direct when it comes to giving hard news, which I really appreciate. And most importantly, you can tell they really do love the animals that they care for.
Dr Yacker has been my dog’s vet for 8 years. She’s amazing with him. She never rushes through appointments, answers questions thoughtfully & comprehensively, and genuinely cares about him. When she moved from a different office to Animal Medical Center, it was no question that we’d also change practices. The staff at AMC is also great & I’m really happy we lucked into a finding an amazing vet right after adopting our dog.
Took my new rescue cat in for check and testing for worms. they were able to spend a lot of time with him and get everything taken care of. very affordable and quick service.
For the past 14 years, our dog Butter has received wonderful, compassionate & first-rate care from Dr. Janik, Dr Solomon and the entire staff at Animal Medical Center.
The doctors and techs and staff at Animal Medical Center of Chicago are great - they spend the time needed to answer all of my questions and give me confidence that my dog is getting the best, most caring attention possible. They listen and help with even the smallest questions. They are wonderful! Plus, my dog loves going to see them, which speaks volumes for the kind of care they provide for her.
I love ALL the staff at AMC! My dog Coco Louise is part chihuahua and can be timid around new people. But even during COVID procedures, each staff member during hand off, the visit, and return to mommy outside, made Coco’s visit fun, positive and comfortable! Thank you Dr. Simpson and AMC!
The team here is by far some of the nicest, professional, and comforting people in the business. Prices are not as overwhelming as my past 2 vets in the suburbs AND they send in the insurance claims for you! Also, their Halloween candy bucket is on point! Thanks for loving my little man Dexter almost as much as I do! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This practice has cared for all my cats. I am on my 8th cat, and and I keep them from Day 1 (however they come to me) until its time to cross the Bridge. I usually have pairs, and my 7th cat seems happy with his new buddy. I was there when it was just Dr. Solomon, and of course now there are multiple vets and a very sophisticated practice. One thing that stood out from the beginning was the day I took my first cat to a specialist for tests. He said, unprompted, oh yes, Donna Solomon, shes very thorough and gives you what you (the specialist) need. I was sold and have never looked back. She did a necropsy on my 6th cat, and discovered that his mystery illness was simply not registering on the tests she was doing, and she did a LOT of testing. Too late for him, but the next cat that shows up with similar symptoms will benefit because she took the time to pursue an answer. I will keep coming to this practice so long as it continues to operate and shows the same care and focus that I have seen in the past.
Always responsive and reassuring. Quite punctual and very professional staff
We have had nothing but such positive experiences since bringing our puppy here as a new patient a little over a week ago. I had originally scheduled an appointment just to establish care since we moved from out of state but our pup ended up being quite sick before our appointment so it ended up being pretty timely. Our puppy is really anxious/fearful when meeting new people and Dr. Simpson and her vet tech were great. They didnt push doing an exam on her and instead spent nearly 30 minutes talking with us on the phone about managing her anxiety and fear and getting recommendations for a behavioral consultation. Dr. England ended up calling us the next day as they had found a parasite in her stool sample and he was so wonderful as well. I communicated with him a few times as our puppy had an allergic reaction to something requiring an ER vet visit overnight and he was super responsive and just great all around. Overall, AMC has been so incredibly helpful, caring, and wonderful at communicating. They also sent text reminders about the medication (when to give and dose) we are supposed to give our puppy before our next appointment. I honestly cannot recommend them enough. After having negative experiences with a prior vet in a different state, it was recommended that we find a fear-free certified practice and I am so happy we did.
When we moved into the city from the suburbs with our beloved, aging Golden Retriever, we tried several different veterinary practices and finally settled for one, not because we especially liked it but because it was convenient to our apartment. Then we adopted a cat with a seizure disorder and this practice, that marketed itself as “fear free” would regularly be unable to obtain a blood sample without having me heavily sedate the cat before each visit. We ended up moving to a feline-only practice.More recently we brought home a Golden puppy and I did A LOT of research to find a vet. We made a great choice in Animal Medical Center. The staff is caring and enthusiastic every time they see our boy, and because, due to COVID-19, we can’t go into the facility with our puppy, the vets (and several of them have seen Teddy) take as much time as we need at the end of each appointment to talk to us, answering all our questions and providing advice on a range of issues. We LOVE this practice.
The staff at Animal Medical Center are fantastic. From the folks at the front desk to the doctors, everyone actively cares for our pets. The doctors, assistants and techs are loving and gentle with my anxious dogs, Jito and Dulci. They spend as much time as is needed with us to answer my typical multitude of questions. They have taken care of my Jito through diagnoses and treatment of cancer and, most recently, identification of something on his larynx. The techs are always willing to take my phone calls and address any panic stricken concern that I have. Everyone at AMC is great, but a special shoutout to Dr. Simpson and Dr. Janik, who have been the primary doctors for Jito and Dulci over the years, and Natalie, Tiffany and Debbie, who have been caring for them for most of their lives. Thank you for all you do from all of us!
I recently moved to the area and Animal Medical Center was recommended by my daughters friend. My dog suffers from allergies and her previous vets never talked about options to control her itching. I was able to get an appointment within 2 weeks and was extremely pleased with the communication and staff, as well as Dr. England. Dr. England explained the options for controlling the itching and asked questions my previous vets never discussed. I highly recommend Dr. England and Animal Medical Center of Chicago!
I moved from out of state recently with my senior dog where we absolutely loved our vet. I used to drive 30 miles each way to go see her because she was so great. I was very relieved and happy to find an equally great vet here, just down the street.Dr. England has been taking care my Curly regularly since I arrived and I am thoroughly happy with his care. We see him about every 6 weeks due to Curlys medical issues and I find Dr. England to be kind and compassionate, practical in his advice, thorough without being overly aggressive in his recommendations, and completely accepting of my right to decide to pursue a specific route of care or not. I always feel well informed and never feel pressured. I believe Dr. England and everyone we have encountered at the medical center truly loves animals, are very knowledgeable, and deliver high quality care to their animal patients as well as their associated humans. I highly recommend Animal Medical Center of Chicago!
Always professional and thorough. Good communication
Finding a vet that cares about your pet as much as you do is always the hope for any pet owner. That was certainly the case with the team at Animal Medical Center (AMC) and our experience with the care they provided to our Westie Daisy throughout her life. Throughout the difficult decision to allow her to peacefully end her battle with cancer they provided the clinical information and the sensitive guidance we needed to help make the decision to end our cherished little friends life in a humane way. Their assistance, their peaceful end of life approach, and our trust of their judgement made the best of a very difficult day. We could not be more grateful to them and their continued care of our other dog.
Most amazing care for my pup, Max. He had a dental cleaning under full anesthesia and the team were absolutely fantastic keeping me up to date throughout the process.
We have had a really tough last month with our dog, Olive. She was diagnosed with an auto immune disorder that is tricky to treat and very scary for the pet parents. Dr. English has been our absolute hero. I dont now how we would have managed to keep it together without him. He is very knowledgable, answers all our questions, super kind, and I genuinely feel he cares deeply about how Olive is doing. He even takes the time to ask how the scared pet parents (Us) are holding up as we navigate this. Every staff member has been an absolute pleasure and Olive is so lucky to have them in her corner. We could not be more grateful for Dr. English and all the staff at Animal Medical Center of Chicago. Absolutely bring your pets here, could not recommend more.
Animal Medical Center staff and doctors were amazing taking care of our dog as a new patient during COVID pandemic. I was very nervous about not being able to go in with her for her first visit. The staff was wonderful, treated her well, called and kept us informed throughout the visit and Trixie did not seem upset or scared at all when we picked her up. I would definitely recommend this practice!
The best vet hospital ever! I never saw a place who truly cares about the pets like they do. Our dog came in as an emergency under the care of Dr Ojishi on multiple occasions and each occasion she has done wonders every time. Our pup loves going to her. Her e exams are so amazing. She makes sure your dog does not leave the clinic without making sure they got the right treatment plan needed for there care. She is an amazing doctor who loves what she does. I know because I can tell how she shows passion when she treats our pup and our pup loves her. Our pup will not let give her medicine but for Dr Ojishi she does. She should be awarded vet of the year.Dr Solomon- she performed the surgery for our pup. She did an amazing job and our pup was feeling fine after that. She even helped her get better after she had an emergency as well. Like Dr Ojishi she goes above and beyond to ensure the pets get the care they needed.Dr England- this doctor saw our pup for the very first time and she loved him. Again great vet. So helpful and detailed. We have a dog who used to hate going to the vet cause he was so scared. When he met dr England he built the bond with him. This is amazing. The nurses- words cannot describe how much our dogs adore you and our cat who is no longer with us. You go above and beyond and Make sure our pets are in great care. The staff. There Are extremely helpful and friendly everytime you call them for appointments or generic questions you may have. There are doctors that are in the clinic that Im sure they are great and this hospital is great. Im so glad I found them for our pets needs. No matter where we are, they will be our pets doctors for many many years.Thank you animal medical center of Chicago. You all are awesome.
I moved to Chicago fairly recently, and have a cat. My cat is extraordinarily horrible at the vet. She was so bad that her two old vet offices had a special mark by her name, and every single person that worked there had heard the stories about her. I cannot express enough how uniquely awful she handles the vet. Her old vets actually had to sedate her to do any kind of checkup on her. And, she has FIV, which means she gets minor infections somewhat frequently, which means lots of trips to the vet. SO, when I moved to Chicago, I anxiously called around a few places to find her a new regular vet to see who would be willing to sedate her for regular visits, how they handle difficult animals, etc. When I called here, they were so understanding and were able to give perfect recommendations. They were prepared for our visit so that we did not have to wait in the waiting room at all, and they have a separate elevator to go to the cat rooms so that they dont have a risk of interacting with dogs. They were able to sedate my cat, perform the tests she needed, give recommendations for an update on her prescription food, everything I could have wanted. The vet is usually a very stressful experience for my cat (and honestly, me too) and they made it as seamless and easy as possible. I would highly highly recommend this office!
I highly recommend this office because its staff cares deeply about the animals, and it shows. The doctors, nurses, receptionists—everyone—take all the time necessary to explain all aspects of the animals’ situations so that you feel confident in the animals’ health when you leave. All of the doctors are top-notch.
Ive only been once but so far Im incredibly grateful I went at all. My dog has some anxiety issues Ive been trying to get help with for years and these guys were ready and willing to help in the right way immediately. They were kind, supportive, informative, and I wish Id started going here years ago. I look forward to continuing to come here with both of my dogs in the future.
Best vet in Chicago! Every member of the team always is kind and treats my dog with love. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Wonderful staff. They are professional, timely and genuinely care for our Pup as if he was their own.5 stars!
We have brought Leon to AMC for all kinds of questions and have been helped with everything!!! Leon is a very smart Papillon Phalene and if he doesnt want to get out of the car at first he quickly responds to their care. We do, too!!! Thank you Drs. and technicians, each and every one of you have been tremendously helpful and nice!!!
My dog was prescribed an anti anxiety medication, but my husband and I were never warned of the side effects. When we called stating that my dog was experiencing some of these side effects that we weren’t warned about the vets didn’t pick up on the fact that the medication has been known to have the side effects. We dropped over $450 on a physical only to be told that there was nothing causing him physical pain. While there are some staff who work there that really have the pet’s well being at heart, there are other staff members who will overlook huge red flags. The most recent care we received was appalling, the staff came off as negligent. Based on our last experience, I do not trust these doctors anymore, and this is disappointing since we have been loyal clients for over four years.
I brought my dog, Iggy, in shortly after moving nearby. I was immediately impressed with the positive, warm attitudes of the staff. The vet tech, Kaitlin I believe, was so incredibly sweet and could tell Iggy was nervous about being there. I appreciate Dr. Simpson talking me through the treatment plan and her patience. I am so happy I chose this vet to get my dogs health back up to speed.
Dr. Solomon and her team run an excellent practice. They were recommended by friends when we moved to the city and we are happy to have found them to care for our aging pet.
My puppy and I had our first visit with AMCC. Because of the Co-vid issue, I had to sit outside and wait. I talked to Debbie to give my puppys history and she took her time to answer my questions and listened to all my concerns. Dr. Simpson was very patient to answer all my questions and gave me a detailed update on my puppys health, which I really appreciated. I was reassured that I can always reach out to them if I have any concerns about my pup. I really liked chilling on the porch while I waited. My puppy was very calm and happy while he was there. I think it is definitely worth every penny because they take proper care of your pet and are very communicative.
My boyfriend and I have been taking our English Bulldog to AMC since we moved to Chicago several years ago. Hes getting to be a bit older in age and as a result has had some random health issues come up. Even though pet health is always a stressful issue, we feel very comfortable with the care he receives at AMC. The staff is very helpful, especially Dr. Simpson, who we truly love working with. The post-op care of a recent surgery he had this month has been wonderful, even during unusual office operations due to the pandemic. We wouldnt take our guy anywhere else!
Ive been coming here for over 15 years with 3 dogs. Every person, whether its the front desk staff, the vet techs, or the docs, truly cares about your pet. Calls and lab/test results are returned in a timely fashion, our appointments are never felt rushed, the exams and histories are thorough, and follow up calls are made to check how your pets doing. Im happy to say that I truly love my vets :)
My dog Sam is scared of his own shadow. The staff take care to make him comfortable, and they are trained specifically for this. I cant say enough positive things about the doctors, vet techs and staff. Top notch.
Biscuit and Bubbles have had the best care at Animal Medical Center by all DVM’s. My 2 Golden Retrievers are as important to me as my children and the doctors and techs spend so much time talking about my pups health and options. It feels great to be informed and that is what separates AMC from many other vets. They really do care and understand how important our animal are to us.
As a new pet owner (and first time puppy owner), my biggest fear is placing my puppy in the wrong hands. From the minute I scheduled an appointment (early appointments and next day availability-love that) i felt at ease. Teddy (my 11 week old cockapoo) is a calm natured, easy going dog but Im a mother hen and want to ensure my dog is taken care of and not man handled in anyway (which he was at the emergency vet- never again going back). From the minute we stepped into the office Teddy was calm and happy. The office is huge and super clean! We were greeted by kind front desk staff and were immediately placed into a room and didnt wait longer than 3 minutes before seeing a vet tech!!When seeing the vet I was able to take my time and ask the many questions I had regarding my dogs health and care. The vet (Dr. Ogishi) was the sweetest and caring doctor on this planet. She was understanding and had very great advice! She even called me the following day to check up on my pup and ensure hes healthy and happy (after receiving his shots). All in all Animal Medical Center of Chicago deserves a 5/5 and I will definitely not be going anywhere else!
I took my two ill, older cats for the first time to see Dr. Solomon. My visit started well with the warm attentive greeting by staff. The level of attention to my pets and me was incredible. Dr. Solomon explained everything she did and listened to my concerns about my pets too. The techs & assistants were also informative and attentive. I like that theres a cat-only room too.I had switched to the Animal Medical Ctr after the vet practice Id taken my cats to for 20 years was sold and the level of care there changed dramatically.Im extremely happy with the choice I made. I look forward to many years of compassionate care of my cats.
The kindest & most magnificent staff you will find at a vet’s office. Always smooth/efficient with booking & appointments, with truly knowledgeable & wonderful people from start to finish. They go out of their way to make sure you & your pet have a comfortable experience. Your pet will be in good hands here.
Drs. Ogishi and Solomon have taken care of my dogs for a few years now. I find them to be warm caring knowledgeable professionals and recommend them to any pet parent.12.9.17 visit update. My dog suffered a ruptured anal gland. She was bleeding from the rectum. They got her in on a very busy day got her right into a room to relieve her and my stress. Her doctor Dr ogishi had back to back visits as well as another emergency situation but still took care of my pet promptly and compassionately. The staff and vet techs were equally friendly and professional. They came to the exam room to check me out to pay and helped me down to the car. The vet tech even lifted my dog into the car for me. Not an easy task with a sedated 67 pound dog. Thanks for taking care of my dog and helping to relieve what was an anxious situation and making it a bit easier.
The entire staff from the reception desk to the doctors were incredible from the start. Honor saw Dr. England for a check-up/pain management. Since she has a number of physical deformities and special needs, I travelled out of Oak Park solely on their Google reviews. I’m so happy our trip was not wasted! The vet techs were very thorough and attentive, making sure Honor and I were as comfortable as possible during our visit. Dr. England took the time to explain everything, even from her past vet records, which had apparently not been very thoroughly explained to me in the past! And, even though the office is located in a former home, a handicapped entrance has been installed, which is a huge help because Honor uses a stroller and is not capable of walking very far distances.Aside from the medical attention, Honor was fawned over by each and every staff member, which she soaked right up 😊We plan on bringing our other dogs who’ve been dealing with their own issues in for visits, too!
I’m so happy with the service I had to review. I wish I could give them ten stars. My Puppy was treated like a princess. And when my two year old daughter burst into tears when her puppy had to leave the room, everyone came to my aide. They offered calm, sweet support and even gave her a stuffed sea otter. It made a possibly terrible day a lovely memory.
AMC has quickly adopted an organized approach to safely caring for pets in the shadow of COVID. They are always responsive to script refills and appointment requests. No doubt, their prices are high but pretty much in line with others Ive found in the city. Expect to pay about 20% more than at vets in the burbs. All in all definitely recommend!Updated : having encountered them now for a few other things I can say AMC of Chicago really goes above and beyond to accommodate their customers where others often don’t. Between my dog and my visiting mom’s pain in the arse elderly chihuahua, we’ve been a real pain lately. Their office staff, physicians and techs have been patient and proactive - in a city full of vet options that’s a differentiation factor worth switching for.
I LOVE Animal Medical Center! Dr. Solomon is truly one of the best veterinarians in Chicago. She is helping me with my dog Coco Louise and I respect her process and they way she thinks through symptoms and treatment protocol. She is also up to date on what is changing in veterinary care. All of the supporting staff from the customer service representatives to the technicians are all so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!
I moved to Chicago a few months ago and wasn’t able to establish a relationship with a local veterinarian before COVID-19 hit. When I noticed a problem with my cat & learned (from google lol) that it could potentially be serious, I felt I had no choice but to dive in blindly with a new vet. I’m so grateful I chose Animal Medical Center! My anxieties were calmed just from speaking with the front desk staff to schedule an appointment (they got her in same-day!) because the staff so darn kind and compassionate. The no-contact drop-off process was seamless & professional, and the staff was incredibly friendly and caring. Everyone I talked to seemed to genuinely enjoy their job & were thorough and patient with their questions.Dr. Solomon is a champion and handled being assaulted by my cat’s bodily fluids with humor & grace. After speaking with her, I was SO glad I took my cat to the vet, especially to Dr. Solomon, because my cat was very uncomfortable and I had no idea! She was very transparent about what tests/treatments she was doing and why (I’ve definitely been swindled before) and gave a thorough explanation of the results & next steps.I had an excellent first experience here and already feel comfortable entrusting my cat’s health with these lovely people.(Willow says hi & is feeling much better (and much lighter!) )
Friendly staff and doctors for my two cats. state of the art and all efforts towards easing pets anxiety.
We will continue raving about Animal Medical Center of Chicago forever! They are AMAZING! You can schedule appointments online and via text/email, which is a huge plus. When we brought in our second cat for his first visit, they put his name on a sign in the front to welcome him. They have cat friendly rooms away from doggos so you dont have to worry about putting your kitty in more stress by running into other animals. They bring your cat a pheromone towel, which our kitties love, and they have the best treats! They are prompt, friendly, and you can tell they really care about their patients and you as an owner.Dr. England is absolutely wonderful. He always follows up to see how your buddies are doing and he has so much experience that you can tell youre in good hands. They are great at recommending all available options, their potential cost, and not pressuring you to spend more if you dont absolutely need to. I cannot recommend them enough!Thank you, Animal Medical Center of Chicago!
Brought my cat here after he had been straining to go to the bathroom. They saw us right away and provided exceptional care. Dr. England and the vet technicians I dealt with were friendly, informative, and obviously cared about what they were doing. I am very happy to have found them and would recommend to anyone with pets
Our pup Rory had a fabulous experience at AMC Chicago. We moved into the area a few months ago and took her for a routine physical exam and annual vaccinations. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming and they answered all of our questions brilliantly. Hard to find a much better fit!
Cant say enough about Dr. England, a knowledgeable and loving vet. Also, all the staff really care about the animals and all are helpful as can be. The office is set up to make the pets comfortable and Id say that over my fifty years of dealing with various vets and facilities this is top of the line.
Vets, techs, and all staff give amazing care. Their concern for my animals anxiety and comfort during visits is beyond anything Ive experienced before. Their follow up care is also great and everyone communicates with compassion and respect. Also, decent hours, open till 8 during the week and 7:30-2 on Saturdays.
I’ve been bringing my dogs here for 20+ years. Everyone is so kind and helpful. My dogs love to go to the vet!
The staff was incredibly kind to both myself and my cat. They helped her feel comfortable while making it a quick visit.
Five stars without a doubt for the Animal Medical Center of Chicago and the fine staff there. My 11-year old Lab, Max, has received professional, caring treatment since his puppy check-in in 2004. All the vets are great; Max has been treated primarily by Dr. Solomon whom we love but all the vets know him and are very great when Dr. Solomon is not available. From reception to all the technicians and other professionals, this staff understands customer service! Scheduling is overall very good; waits most often not long. They also have a good referral system for surgeries outside their realm of expertise. Thanks from Max and me.
AMC was my first vet in Chicago for my two cats. I found them by looking at reviews online, and I can see why they have such a great rating! I was very pleased with the vets & technicians and how thorough they were with everything. My appointment was during the Covid-19 lockdown and the social distancing changes they made to the visit were very careful, professional, and accommodating to my cats. I would recommend this veterinary center for any other cat owners in Chicago!
Dr. Solomon is the absolute best and she has amazing staff of doctors and techs! I live less than five minutes from another vet, but I drive 20-30 minutes to take my babies here.
Animal Medical Center of Chicago is the best welcome to Chicago experience ever! My dog was aggravated, stressed, downright unfriendly and confused from his transition to Chicago. Yet everyone, and I mean everyone, at Animal Medical Center of Chicago were amazing about it. They were so relaxed, patient, and took control of the situation. They helped me understand that he is stressed and made me feel okay about it. They told me to be patient and give him the space to be comfortable on his own terms. I really appreciated that. They were very welcoming. Here is the best part: when I got home, my dog was smiling, full of energy, and ready to get to know Chicago! My puppy is back! Too many people still treat animals as if they are there for our entertainment. Therefore, I really appreciated my visit with Animal Medical Center of Chicago because they treat animals like they really matter and have a voice. Yes, my dog has need and his needs matter! Brody and I will be back. Thank you so much for everything!
I was originally referred here by a former coworker about 5 years ago. I never really had a need to take my kitties to the vet, however, for check ups and such, I saw various veterinarians within this practice and they were always pleasant. This review, specifically, is in regard to Dr. Simpson, who I have only encountered recently, after having a pretty sick kitty. She was extremely informative and made sure that I knew all of my options, both financially and in the best interest of my cat. Within a week of seeing Dr. Simpson, my cat has shown a complete change - I can see that she feels SO much better! She also made sure to give me a follow up call the day after our initial appointment to make sure everything was going okay. Overall, Animal Medical Center has been great, but Dr. Simpson has been EXCEPTIONAL! I highly recommend.
This vet is very clean and well kept. The front desk gals are very nice as are the nurses. Dr. English is the nicest and has so much patience with our very sheepish pooch. He always has good advice, is to the point and very professional. You can tell that everyone who works there really loves animals and has a kind heart.
The staff was so focused on the best care for our cat - and on listening to us. They took as much time as we needed and promptly followed through with lab results, answering any questions we had. We are so grateful we found this place!
Dr. English was so gentle and thorough with our former feral. We came in with a set of issues, and he was very patient and took time to answer all our questions and concerns. The vet techs and other support staff are also so friendly and helpful.
I grew up with mostly outside pets that were given minimal vet care. I recently adopted a cat from a friend who sadly had to give her up after 6 years. The cat was on a medication for anxiety and, never having pets who needed meds before, I decided that when she ran out of the pills I would see how things went without them. Big mistake!! It was a blessing in disguise because I may not have sought out vet care for her otherwise. A friend suggested Animal Medical Center of Chicago, and we set up an appointment online right away for our first visit. The location is in an old house that was beautifully re-done. Walking into a house rather than a clinic was comforting. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They did their best to keep my cat happy the entire visit. We saw Dr. England: he was funny and kind and provided great explanations for everything. Fees were clearly presented to us on paper with less expensive and more expensive options depending on which tests we chose or opted out of. The entire visit was just incredibly pleasant. I better understand the importance of well care for pets now and will definitely be returning to this clinic with my cat and any future pets. Thank you!!
I have been going to animal medical center for 11 years... the most caring, skilled, professionals that go beyond! A special shout out to Dr Janik!! Thank you all!!!
Dr. Solomon and her staff are a Blessing to me and my pet. I have been going to Animal Medical Center for over 17 years and would never go any where else. Dr. Solomon always goes beyond the extra mile with the care of your pets and you. She is not only brilliant but a very caring individual. Her staff is very professional, kind and helpful. Animal Medical Center always does it right the first time and always exceeds expectations.
Dr. Janik and the staff at Animal Medical Center are just amazing. We recently received very sad news about the health of our dog and Dr. Janik and the staff were so helpful, so thoughtful, so professional. I will continue to bring our pets to Animal Medical Center for our lifetime!
SO thankful to have found the most amazing veterinary clinic in Chicago. The entire staff is amazing I cannot say enough good things about them. Every time I bring my dog in we never have to wait to go into a room we are seen immediately. They are so friendly understanding and patient. Do yourself and your pet a favor and make an appointment.
I have been taking both of my dogs here for over a year and I am so glad that we found them. Incredible customer service, amazing techs and vets. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking for a veterinarian.
Ive been taking my dog Lola to see the staff at Animal Medical Center of Chicago for a few months now and for some somewhat intense procedures including a cutaneous horn removal and the treatment of a very bad anal gland infection. Dr. Solomon, Dr. Ogishi, and Dr. England have all seen Lola and done an absolutely fantastic job with her. Everyone there treats your animal like a person and the staff is very attentive to your pets needs. They go above and beyond to check the overall health of your pet, not just what your pet was brought in for. Molly is also always incredibly sweet to Lola and Ive found Melissa to be a big help in scheduling appointments when I have conflicts. Great team, best vet Ive ever encountered!
Lily (my 11 1/2 year old chocolate lab) has been a patient of Animal Medical since she was 3 mos. old. I have found the doctors and technicians and front desk to be absolutely wonderful. All the docs - Ive used mostly Dr. Solomon and Dr. England - have been terrific!! Its a wonderful place and I would highly recommend animal medical!
