Wonderful work. I took a 1974 Zenith suitcase record player that was in good condition, but definitely needed some work. They did incredible work at a reasonable price. I even begged if they could get it done early and they did. I LOVE my 40+ year old record player and it works and sounds great. I cant thank them enough!
Had a small issue with my midi controller. Told them what I thought it was and they told me that they would take a look at and it would be repaired within 2-4 weeks after they find out what the issue was. They were very transparent about how backed up they were in terms of servicing other equipment and they were honest about the time it would take to get to mine. Luckily, it was done before I knew it! They dropped a call to tell me it was done within two weeks after I dropped it off and I can come pick it up. It works perfectly fine! The only additional cost to their deposit was the one part they needed to replace which I expected. Thank you for the quick turnaround and the good work!
I brought in my guitar amp to have a headphone jack replaced. I was quoted a week to have the repair done. Within an hour of leaving the store, I started reconsidering the option of just buying a new amp instead, and so I returned to the store to cancel the repair. However, by the time I got back (not 45 minutes after dropping it off in the first place), the repair was done and I was able to leave the store with it immediately. Wonderful!Note: The musical technicians seems to have their own “department.” So repairs for other types of equipment may not be as surprisingly quick.
All repairs were made to bring my vintage pieces back to their original performance. We are talking about a 50 year old tuner, amp, and turntable. What a great shop!
Super fast turnaround and really easy to do business with. Will only use them going forward…
Im a professional musician and music teacher here in Chicago and Ive taken several instruments and related equipment to Deltronics over the years and they have NEVER let me down......not once.
I took my circa 1994 shelf system in for repair because the CD door no longer worked. It hadnt been working for a couple of years. They told me that theyd perform a diagnostic and give me an estimate of repair. After they had it a couple of weeks and I paid about $150, I picked it up. The door worked well. Unfortunately, the CD player no longer works. Either they didnt detect that in their diagnostic or they damaged it during repairs. Either way, it sucks.
For musicians, theyre the business! They get u right! Swear by them!
Efficient, Quick Turnaround, and Knowledgeable. The expectation was wonderfully exceeded and Ill refer more businesses to them. The place is small so please be patient, capacity is only a few people for now.
Drove all the way there from the board of Indiana and Chicago just for them to tell me they dont work on my specific kind of speaker which is a Behringer if you have the speaker and it needs repairs do not go to deltronics
Very detailed and professional been going there for 20yrs
Excellent services would request anyone that would need service.
As a producer I needed my speakers fixed. I waited 2 months and the staff lied about the parts and said it was here and would be done by the end of the week. Later on they said Yamaha had it on backorder. This is my job and wasn’t taken seriously. Not happy.
This place is AWESOME . Fixed my stereo . Very happy . Staff was very knowledgeable, very kind, very accommodating .
As a small business owner myself, I really hate giving this review. Earlier today I had to drop off something at Fulton Grace (right next door). I noticed the 15 minute standing zone in front of Deltronics so I parked there. A young girl came out and said I can not park there because they sometimes have disabled customers and they like that space open for them. First of all, this is not a handicap parking spot. Second, Deltronics is an audio repair shop NOT a medical clinic! So I mentioned I’m only going to be a couple minutes and I will move my car. When I refused to move my car, this extremely rude guy came out saying I am welcome to park there if I want a ticket! To which I explained I have no reason to receive a ticket, I am legally parked and there are no signs that say otherwise! He kept going on about how he paid to have that spot. I told him this is not a reserved spot or handicap. If he wanted he should ask the city to change the signs. He kept going on about how he will call to get me a ticket. I moved my car not because I was afraid of getting a ticket, but because I was afraid the guy would do something stupid to my car. He did not seem to be stable and like a person that would do something stupid.News flash to that guy, you do not own the Chicago streets! Photo is attached of the street signs. Do yourself a favor and if you need any audio repair, go to a business that treats people better. I am not surprised they have such a low Yelp and Google review!(Response to owner’s response) I’m sorry that your customer had a hard time. But you pointed me to park across the street with no parking spots available. But as mentioned in my review, you are an audio repair shop, not a medical clinic. People can not assume that all your clients have a hard time getting in. Also, it is a 15 minute standing zone from the city. Nothing there mentions that those 2 spots are reserved for you business only. As your response mentions, I am not the only one that parks there and goes elsewhere. We all know that if I would have gotten ticketed, I would have gotten out of it in court. My review should not get removed because it is my experience with 2 employees at the place of business.
Brought a stereo power Amp in for repair. Not only did they fix it for a reasonable price they had no problems follow questions and where happy to take the time to explain the issue.
They do not deserve a full star. Their customer services is inferior just as their expertise in electronics. I brought in my open reel Tascam 8 track recorder. They took a $50.00 deposit, then told me many week later the repair would be $300.00. I went in to pay and pick up. They scolded me saying the heads were dirty when I brought it in. Then they charged me the 300 but did not give my $50.00 deposit back. I took it home and the same issue with the buttons was still present. Not only a waste of $350.00 dollars but more importantly a complete waste of time. Never again, these people are rude and liars not to mention thieves.
They do an amazing job with repairs. I go often to get DJ speakers fixed
They are Fender Authorized repair shopI needed tubes for my Sound City Master Lead 50 amp so i called Guitar Center and asked where they take amps for warranty service work and they gave me Deltronics infoWhen i took my amp in I was impressed by the service I receivedI felt like the techs were so tired of fixing solid state amps, that they were falling over themselves to be the tech to work on a real tube ampThey really made me feel specialThe tech asked me what music i played through the amp and when i told him i play bass and guitar and ukulele through it, he took note and put tubes in and adjusted the biasTHE FLIPPING AMP SOUNDS BETTER THAN BRAND NEWEven the owner of Sound City Amps, Steven Michael Fryette (owner of Fryette Amplification too) commented on how tight my amp sounds nowGreat place 6 stars!!!
Great work fixing my Casio keyboard. Id tried a few places in Chicago, and they couldnt do it. I was happy to find Deltronics (sounds like an old favorite group of mine - the Delphonics, so I thought they would also be good). Great job guys!
I dropped off my record player 6 weeks ago and have had to call them 3 times to get an update. The only time they called me was to tell me that it was going to cost more money to get it fixed and that was 3 weeks ago! What a joke of a company. At this point this is pure theft. Go somewhere else that is reputable and wont steal your items.
I had my record player repaired here. Not only did it take 2 months to repair, they gave no updates or ETAs on when it would be fixed. The best part about it all was that my record player is WORSE then when I took it in. Very frustrating. Please be careful, dont throw away your money, dont waste your time here.
They were able to save a bunch of my old broken audio equipment without swapping whole boards, just component level repair. Thanks!
I am actually very disappointed with Deltronics First of all, the secretary (nikki)the one who answers the phone, is extremely rude on the phone and even worse in person Maybe she needs more training on how to treat a client and answer the questions with respect and not with an attitude like she doesnt like her job. A better business starts with the person who represents at the beginning of when you introduce yourself and find out if this is the right place to get your stuff fixed---not with the attitude this person gives you like youre asking for a favor! Unfortunately Im not gonna recommend more business here for the only one person they treated me like garbage Secondly, they never called me to let me know that my unit was ready for pickup I called to check on the status after nearly 2 months and they told me it had been ready for quite some time this wouldnt be so bad except that after 30days this poor excuse for a business, charges a storage fee! Unbelievable!!! They charged me more than I was quoted, they have terrible customer service and I only hope that they hold true to their 90day warranty! I am making a complaint with the attorney general and consumer services this is a terrible way to conduct business!
To ALL BEWARE, Deltronics is going OUT OF BUSINESS !The building has been put up for sale. Check the address. If your equipment is there you better retrieve it before they close and steal your stuff. I brought my Fender amp to them a few years back only for Deltronics to steal my expensive tubes and replace them with cheep Chinese knockoffs. They never fixed the actual problem. If you go into Deltronics the place looks like a junk shop. Just wanted to warn others that may have equipment in Deltronics, they may close for good any day now and your stuff will we lost forever!
I have been going here for years for all my equipment repairs. But the last 3 or 4 times have been awful. This last time i sent in an amp to get fixed 3 months ago and still have yet to hear back. The only time they called was 2 months ago to let me know what was wrong and the cost. I gave them the ok to fix but they still havent. Im just going to go pick it up and take it elsewhere. Its a shame.
Worst business in this crummy over taxed city...paid $150.00 for repairs on my guitar amp with a small problem now it doesnt even work, waited almost 5 weeks for this incredible service too!..bring it in well look at it...its covered by the warranty the young lady said when i called...Warranty!!! Come on, give me a break!! Apparently they might repair home electronics however professional musical equipment is beyond their understanding,..good thing there not an auto repair shop huh?? Mr mike be honest with what you know and dont know, dont lie to people...and dont try to defend yourself with a manufactured response in order to defend your businesss...
They were very friendly on the phone, gave me the complete breakdown of pricing estimates, how long it would be to get back to me was only a week, once they assessed damage they would give accurate price and timeframe on how long to fix. This place came recommended by a member of THE ACOUSTICPUNKS! THANKS! I had been searching for a reputeable shop for over 5 years until he recommended Deltronics! Cannot wait to afford to get my deluxe 6 track Sony reel to reel fixed here!
A very bad experience. I had a amp repair for onkyo receiver and it took almost 3 months. I had to finally call onkyo to find my part that was needed. Deltronics kept on saying they were waiting for the part. Well I had to call onkyo have them talk to deltronics to see what was going on. So after I waited 2 1/2 months I had to coordinate them to receive it and repair. So what happened next? The part they got finally after me calling onkyo and deltronics was the wrong part. I dont know whos fault it was but it caused me more aggravation. I was upset that I had to keep calling each party to see what and when this repair can get resolved. Just bad service! My repair not satisfactory! Now Im looking to find another dealer or onkyo service center to fix my amp. Unorganized and not professional.
Great spot
Relentlessly Great Service. Quick Turn-around. Very reasonable rates and warranty. I use them for both my company gear and personal gear. Highly recommended.
Great, quick service and very fair. I brought a Niles amp in that the manufacturer doesn’t service. Deltronics got it back to me in no time. Very pleased with their service.
Returned radio with 2 screws missing and front cover wrinkly. It works now, thank you, but take better care in doing so. They read my post, called to apologize and offered to make things right! Unfortunately we live to far away so I declined but have added a Star for being a stand up business.
Excellent pro audio service. Repair turnaround time was impressively fast
I had a good overall experience with DelTronics. I brought them my audio interface, which has a faulty USB port. It cost $65 for them to take (which included 1 hour of labor). Luckily, they were able to fix it, and called me promptly to let me know I could pick it up. Would go back to them if I needed something else expensive to be repaired.
Deltronics is the best hi-fidelity repair shop in the state. Top quality repairs and excellent customer service!
Love these guys! I use them exclusively for all my pro audio repairs. I have never had a problem with a repair they have performed and their customer service is impeccable.
Brought in a my peavey 6505 + amplifier and they had it fixed and ready for pickup within 24 hours! Would highly recommend their services!
Im very happy with these guys. Ive been using them for years. I remember, I brought in a keyboard that turned was having buttons frozen during a performance. They couldnt figure out what was wrong, so they didnt charge me anything, but the keyboard worked for years afterwards without problem.I have used them 8 or 9 times, mostly for Yamaha keyboards, and they have always come through. I have to say that Im surprised by the negative reviews. Michael, the owner, is also a professional musician, Ive heard. Supposedly hes a phenomenal keyboardist. Maybe he got too busy and didnt have good turn around. The only other place I know of in Chicago that repairs pro-audio is Midwest Audio in Arlington Heights. Theyre pretty good. I prefer Deltronics as theyre closer to my house.
One of the best places to get any work done for electronics ... reasonable prices and a great turnover time ....and a very pleasant experience
They couldnt repair my unit because the manufacturer stopped making a part, fine. My qualm is when I sent the unit to them it was packaged to withstand a nuclear fall out, when they returned it, its like they just found a random box, threw it in there and sent it back without any care or concern. If thats how they treat stuff I think Ill find somewhere else in the future. That and the customer service rep was not very helpful nor responsive.
They took in a Carver C-1 pre-amp from probably early 1980s, for the usual old gear problems, popping in volume control, inconsistent power intake. It was back to about 90% perfect in less time than I expected. Old gear DOES have to be used, or problems tend to recur. The gear in question was never, ever abused, btw. If you use it, problems tend to go away once its been refurbished.
Great service, reasonable prices, good work. Hours of operation are kind of difficult of youre a 9 to 5er, but otherwise Ill definitely be taking all my electronic repairs to them from now.
Great service on my vintage speakers
It doesnt matter what you throw at these guys, it gets done. Great little shop. Magic happens behind that misterious wall LOL. Seriously, its a great resource for your electronics. Im glad Ive fond them.
Mike, the boss at Deltronics, is extremely knowledgeable and can repair anything of electronics. Anything vintage or new, home or pro, analog or digital. No kidding.Repair shops closed because fixing electronics is not profitable with so much cheap mass produced Chinese electronics flooding the market. With the repair profession disappearing Im glad that Deltronics stayed in business. And Im always very happy with their service. I hope they stay in business at least in my lifetime ;)
Friendly, fast and professional. Did everything seamlessly online. Great Service A++++++
Took a power amp in for repairs. After two weeks without hearing from them I called several times before finally getting through to them to approve the repair. After another 7 weeks I called them at which point they tried to lie to me about when I approved the repair to give them more time. I took back the amp without any repairs done to save myself a inevitable disaster. Seems they are plenty happy to take a down payment and not do any work.Took it to a real shop. Repair went smoothly as it should have.Just look at all the other complaints and know somethings wrong.
Love the work here. They are always quick to respond and work turnaround time is so quick.
Terrible service girl on the front desk always got a long face.not friendly or smiling. but she will take your money
Great service. They back their work with a 90 day warranty 👍
This place is a scam. Was charged a $75 diagnostic fee even though they didnt find what was wrong. Now Im that much poorer and my gear still doesnt work. Customer service was also bad
Great service and outstanding team - best in Chicago by far
Best in Chicagoland!!!
Charged 250 just to clean up a keyboard... Annoying
Got my Yamaha receiver back up and running in no time! Thanks, Deltronics!
Smarmy. Theyll get your gear straight tho.
Music instruments and sound equipment repairs.
