This company advertises “beautifully furnished, luxurious, and elegant suites” for rent. I rented a one bedroom apartment from them in Chicago, and the apartment was in no way close to being luxurious, elegant or beautifully furnished. I paid top dollar for this apartment and was extremely disappointed. When I first arrived the cable TV was not connected, and I had WiFi issues for the first five days. I made multiple requests to the Manilow team before receiving a response. When the cable was finally installed the streaming service was sporadic. I tried to stream movies and over and over again the movie would stop and just churn. The apartment itself was cheaply furnished with a linoleum floor. Initially there was no rug, no counter chairs and no chairs on the balcony. After complaining, they did bring a small rug, 2 counter chairs and one chair for the balcony. The apartment in general was very sterile, with not one picture on the very white walls. The windows of the apartment were filthy dirty and were not cleaned for my entire stay. A large piece of linoleum was peeling away and was not fixed until the day before my departure.I was told that my monthly rent would include weekly housekeeping. That didn’t happen. I was there for one month and the apartment was cleaned just two times. My experience with Manilow Suites was extremely upsetting & disappointing.Photos of windows and peeling linoleum below.
This is an incredibly well run, welcoming place for furnished rentals in Chicago. I have known of Manilow Suites for nearly 40 years and have referred friends and family to them. This was my own first time to stay with them and it was the most perfect visit I could imagine! We were in our old neighborhood in a quiet residential building near every service we would ever want...views were spectacular, the apartments was spacious, impeccably clean and well appointed, ready for us on time..and the extremely accommodating staff made the entire process so smooth and easy....even though our own plans were muddled! We highly recommend Manilow Suites and Dennis Lyons, Director of Client Relations. We hope to return next year for a longer stay and would never rent with anyone else!
My husband and I are retired and live in central Illinois. As much as we love our small city, we like to balance life with short stays in Chicago. Our favorite resource for working this out is Manilow Suites. They provide short term stays in beautiful high rises in the loop and by the lake. We love to go to Millennium Park and Pritzker Pavilion for free and fabulous music, to jazz venues, boat rides, visit friends and walk. Our space with Manilow Suites this summer included a stocked kitchen, bedroom, nice furniture, and even a washer/dryer. Francine Manilow and her staff do a great job providing what we need, including apt. cleaning. They are responsive and professional. What a great space for us to spend several weeks in summer or anytime during the year. Check it out.
Upon accepting a new job offer in Chicago, I searched for a temporary housing solution and after calling several companies, settled on using Manilow Suites at North Harbor Tower. From the first conversation with Francine, I knew I had found the right place. Extremely courteous, knowledgeable and professional, she offered me great advice on location. Additionally, when arriving at the unit, it was exactly as promised. Professionally decorated in modern decor, overlooking Lake Michigan and immaculately clean, both my wife and I were were very happy with our decision. Once we were settled in, Dennis in the main office also assisted us several times with some business related services and we could not be more pleased with our selection. Without question, this was the wisest choice me made upon moving to Chicago and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. They are the best of the best.
Manilow Suites has a staff that is professional and enthusiastic in their customer service. What a great combination! They are the best in their industry.
Weve stayed with Manilow Suites a few times in different locations and have never been disappointed. All of Manilows rooms are actually full-service apartments. Even though our apartment at North Harbor Tower was a one bedroom, it actually had two bathrooms, a stackable washer/dryer and a fully equipped kitchen, stocked with everything from dishes and a coffee maker, to cookie sheets and a crock pot! Its so perfect when youre in town for more than a few days and want a place to really live like a Chicagoan. When we unexpectedly had only a few hours to find a place to stay, Dennis was wonderful, not only getting us a beautiful apartment the same day, but in making sure that we had everything we needed when we arrived. The things we like most are the quiet units, all the amenities (North Harbor has a pool, fitness and business center) and the hands on approach of every member of the team including Francine Manilow herself, who are always ready with a smile and a helping hand. If youre going to be in Chicago, especially for more than a few days, dont hesitate to give Manilow Suites a call.
I stayed at a place in Chicago under Manilow Suites, which is run by Ms. Francine Manilow. I was brought in to do a logo design for Ms.Manilow, who came across to me as very unstable and erratic, and constantly attacking her fellow associates right from her own office. After a one-night stay that was very unpleasant, after all the work was done, she decided she was going to save some extra money for herself and do a charge back on her credit card. When we brought the matter to her attention, she said she wanted a money back guarantee from us, even though we followed her specifications exactly. So after a waste of a single day in Chicago at one of her business apartments, and not receiving pay due to us, we can at least warn everyone else to not take their business here.
My experience started off great (when working with Denis Lyons), then quickly turned reductive, unwelcoming and accusatory when not working with him directly.
