Amazing experience. Chevy (the owner) came in on Easter just to fix my screen. He went across town to pick up a screen when my model wasn’t in stock at this location and he changed it immediately right in front of me. Plus, he was patient and fun to talk to through the whole adventure. The whole thing was fast and pleasant, and the work on my phone is perfect. Also, accessories at his store are much cheaper than elsewhere. Highly recommend on all fronts.
In April, I took my laptop to Tekkeez after dropping it and damage being caused to the keyboard. To my dismay, the keyboard began to lift and eventually cracked again last week. Unfortunately, this occurred 6 months after the repair -- about 3 months after the 90 day warranty expired. I called Tekkeez immediately and left a voicemail explaining my dilemma. After not hearing back after 2 days, I called and left another voicemail. Finally, I received a text asking for photos and a copy of my receipt in exchange for a quote, which I sent the same day. Another 2 days passed, so I followed up to request a quote. I was told if I paid cash it would cost $150. My problem with this is I paid $166 the first time for what I assumed would be a permanent repair, but ended up only being a temporary fix. My fairly new keyboard should not have lifted and cracked again. I can honestly say I did nothing to cause damage to the keyboard this time, which leads me to believe it was not properly installed. Why would I pay the same business full price for a repair they did not properly complete the first time?! I reached back out to Tekkeez because I wanted to give them the opportunity to remedy the situation. Due to my negative experience, I cannot recommend Tekkeez for computer repairs. If they cannot properly replace a keyboard, I certainly would not trust them with a more challenging repair.In response to Tekkeez response: I know I caused no damage to the keyboard this time, and your claim of my statements being far from the truth is a joke. You definitely quoted me $150 as a cash price (I still have the text messages), and you definitely took a ridiculous amount of time to follow-Up to my inquiry. This is the experience I had with your business and you will not persuade me otherwise by essentially calling me a liar. Very professional! It is what it is. As I stated, I know not to return to your business for future repairs. Thank you!
Took computer in for simplest of diagnostic test and was given the run around. Said they had no tools to actually test the power supply or any other hardware. Never again
Took my iPhone 8 in because the charger wouldn’t stay in and kept falling out. Chavez cleaned it out meticulously and after multiple pieces of dust and sand were removed the charger worked properly again.Very helpful, deligent, and respectful. Will definitely be back!
I had my MacBook Pro keyboard replaced at Tekkeez. The Apple store told me it is vintage so they could not repair it even though everything other than one key was working great!Thankfully Tekkeez was able to replace my keyboard and let me know which part number I needed once they took the laptop apart.
Awesome, fast, efficient, and such satisfactory service! I was ready to bite the bullet and just upgrade my phone but went in for some last advice and was quickly reassured that there was hope!! My phone (previously having a nice big hole in the upper right hand side of the corner) is as good as new!! Im not the most tech-savvy and it is so comforting knowing that there is a business as such a convenient location that understands student time and money limitations! No more finding the time to find an Apple or Microsoft store for me! Highly recommend!
Came to Chicago on business. Dropped my iPhone in the parking lot of the hotel shattering the screen. Found Tekkeez online and showed up the next day at noon, when they were supposed to be open. Unfortunately the door was locked and no one was there. Through the glass I could read a phone number prominently posted on a printed banner. I called and it was the owner. He said the on duty technician should be in shortly. I don’t know what changed, but the technician never showed. The owner did though. I didn’t catch his name or, if I did, I forgot (sorry, man!). It was clear, right away, how much customer service/satisfaction meant to him. Beyond the fact that he showed up to attend to my repair needs he added a free screen protector for the trouble of waiting. I also enjoyed our talk. Coming from a place where taking customers for granted is just how businesses operate, patronizing an operation like Tekkeez is a breath of fresh air.Also, it took him maybe 20 minutes to finish the repair. Far faster than I would have guessed.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
I stopped by for a screen repair after dropping my phone. The owner was friendly and willing to help in any way possible. The repair was done within a matter of minutes right in front of me! The price of the repair was much more reasonable than all other shops I inquired with. I am very satisfied with the service and would definitely recommend this to anyone with tech issues!
Really great people. Chevy went above and beyond to make a really, really bad situation (my hard drive self destructing) as painless as possible. They treated me like a human being. They were patient with my many questions, honest and fair. Shop small, everyone. Its where people still care about other people.
My iPhone 6 was dying every few hours due to an old battery. The owner suggested I get a new battery and the service was so fast and excellent !!! I’m always so scared about my electronics but he did everything in front of me so quickly even with a smile ! Thanks so much for making my life less stressful I really appreciate it! Now I don’t have to buy a new phone :) I would highly recommend this business:)
Fast, courteous, friendly service. I brought in my phone with a faulty battery, and within an hour or so theyd fixed it all, and now its good as new. I will definitely be stopping here again with my future tech repair needs.
I have used Chevys services since I was a college student. The man is practically on speed dial at this point for me. He is transparent, understanding, and above all -- a professional. I treasure his in-store warranty policy, as it has saved me form worrying about my devices (post-repair). My laptop would no longer boot so I took it to them. I admit any price was worth getting it up and working again quickly. So I stupidly didnt ask how much data recovery would cost when they offered. I was really just interested in getting it to work again. They did their thing, I got some of my data back, and after $300 I took it home. Tried to boot. Didnt work. They insisted it was not the hard drive. But I took it to Microcenter and replaced the hard drive anyway myself. It worked. What bugged me was this: they could have told me that they charged / byte with data recovery. They could have recognized that I wouldnt care about backing up program data. Come on. I was just trying to save you guys some time by saying just back up from this top level folder. They could have at least tried to replace the hard drive to see if that would work. They could have at least noticed the thing didnt boot after returning it. Isnt that what I paid for?
Chevy, the owner of the shop, was incredibly helpful. He didnt charge me for the diagnostic because he didnt have to open up my computer, which I really appreciate as a poor college student. I had additional unrelated issues with my computer after my visit and even though when I called the store it was closed for Labor Day, Chevy texted me to ask what I needed help with and walked me through my problems over text. Overall my experience has been absolutely fantastic, the prices are very reasonable, and I will be taking my business here for the next four years for sure!

Cannot recommend Tekkeez enough. My phone screen cracked and they came to me to fix it. Repair was quick and service was very friendly.
I went in here to see if they could fix an unresponsive iPhone. They checked every possible cause of failure. Unfortunately, it was the logic board, so they were unable to help... but the staff were super friendly and helpful, and they didnt charge for the diagnosis and consultation. If I ever break a phone screen or something, Ill be back in a heartbeat.
I was shopping around looking for someone close in the area to my school to fix my phone. Tekkeez was within 7 minutes walking distance from my dorm and the price was not what I was expecting, it was better. Man next paycheck Im bringing my Xbox here. They fix those as well. What a great place for all my electronic fixes.

It’s never good when a business’s own employees leave 5-star reviews [Thomas Scott, CDO; Brett Scott; Charles-Michael Blair, owner; Chavez Carter, manager; early reviews by friends]. Chavez is even mentioned by name in several reviews, so that’s genius… Also a bad sign when you have to be a harda$$ in order for the business to take responsibility for their negligence.TL/DR: Took my laptop in for charger port replacement. In process of doing the minor repair they broke the motherboard so my laptop wouldn’t even turn on anymore. Repeatedly lied to me while I tried to get them to fix their damage. Finally returned my laptop and the charger port had same issue, and there were scratches and scuffs on my laptop. Manager was aggro, wouldn’t refund money so I had to dispute it with bank.Although the charger worked – I never once stated that it wouldn’t charge - it would annoyingly beep due to a loose port pin. Chavez was on vacation all week so I emailed and explained over the phone about the beeping with another employee. He said $150 for labor, which seemed way too high, but I wanted the beeping to stop so I agreed and paid (amount they actually charged was more than invoice amount). I confirmed with another shop (where I should’ve gone in the first place) that they would’ve charged less than half that.Part came a week later and I was told repair would take an hour, so I waited patiently in the shop. Two hours later I was told the tech had to open it up to do the port replacement, and then that he didn’t know how to do it, only Chavez knew, and I needed to leave it overnight. I was told Chavez was coming down, but when I said I would still wait he suddenly wasn’t coming down anymore. I need my laptop daily to work, but I agreed to leave it. 24 hours later I get an email saying that the motherboard needed replacing (implying I needed to pay for it) because the laptop wouldn’t even turn on. I replied that it was powered off and the battery was 100% when I brought it to them, so no reason why it shouldn’t turn on. So they broke the motherboard and didn’t bother to tell me at the time (if it wouldn’t even turn on they would’ve mentioned that right away, not take two hours and tell me a different story).It’s hard to say what was more frustrating: that they broke my laptop and never once apologized or took responsibility for fixing it; the constant lying (so many lies… saying the motherboard was ordered but it wasn’t for another two days, there was no express shipping option (please…), there were no techs in the shop when there actually were; the apathy to stranding me without a laptop for a week and costing me work (imagine being without your cell phone for a few hours, much less a day or a week – that’s how my laptop is for me); or that when I finally got my laptop back the charger port wasn’t even fixed, there were scratches, scuffs, and dried liquid spots on the screen, and Chavez was super hostile.When I picked up the laptop Chavez was extremely aggro (if you get upset because you have to fix your negligence then maybe don’t be negligent…). When I showed him the charger port was still beeping he got even more irritated (“Just don’t move it around too much”). When I asked if they were going to refund me or if I should call the bank it looked like he was about to have a hissy fit and he started yelling at me, so I tried to diffuse the situation by saying it was unfortunate I had to be an a$$hole in order for them to repair what they broke; but he leaned in and said I was an a$$hole. Even if you don’t like a customer you should never treat them like that. I was being “disrespectful” by simply pointing out every time they lied to my face and were being shady, or when I had to repeatedly follow up because they kept breaking promises. Millennials are adorable… Any reputable business would’ve refunded my money after negligently damaging my property – much less not even fixing what I paid for. I had to open a dispute with the bank to get my money back. And after all this the charger port still beeps…
I went their yesterday to fix my girlfriends sister phone as her graduation gift, and let me tell you. The customer service here is nice, and warming, friendly atmosphere, as well as short to little wait to get your repairs fix, as well as reasonable prices, I love this repair shop, and I will be coming back again.
