Get a regular haircut from Margaret at the Webster location. She is a gem and a master of her craft. HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking to get a good and stylish cut. Her personality, wit, and unfiltered conversations add to the experience. I wont go anywhere else!

I am an out of state student who needed a haircut as it was about that time. I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was so kind and very helpful. My stylist Larissa Vetter was absolutely the best I have ever had in my entire life. She made sure I felt comfortable and pleased with my haircut. I will definitely be coming back to this place in the future!

Got my haircut at the Lakeview location, but leaving a bad review for the entire company as I know they move people around and the issue i had applies to all the locations: they dont warn you if your barber doesnt do long hair. So I show up, got told by my barber that he doesnt do long hair, and then had the choice of walking away or giving it a try. I didnt have much of a choice because I had an event the next day, so ended up with the worst haircut Ive ever had in my life. Would be nice if I couldve gotten a heads up when trying to schedule the appointment so I couldve gone elsewhere.

I am a regular at state street barbers! I see Larissa every time and she rocks. Always consistent and exactly what I want. She really knows what she is doing. A true pro! I would recommend state street, and specifically Larissa, to anyone.

I’ve now had two haircuts with Alfredo at the Webster St/Lincoln Park Shop.His efforts with me were just terrific. Although I’m somewhat of a codger, I have received numerous compliments on Alfredo’s cuts. Moreover, he is very professional and takes great pride in making the customer feel comfortable and unique. The shop is comfortable and without the trappings of very expensive “ salons.” I highly recommend Alfredo and State Street.

Ive booked a few appointments at the Lincoln Park location, and Ive been really impressed by the quality of service each time. I would definitely recommend Margaret in particular. Each haircut has been awesome, and more importantly, consistent and reliable. I will most definitely be coming back!

Just a fade. I think the janitor threw on a shmock and decided to give me a haircut The guy seemed inexperienced but I will say he was a very very nice gentleman.I just feel training for actual fades and things of barber shops should be implemented at this institution.

Margaret has been cutting my hair for 6 years now. First on Kingsbury, now on Webster. She is wonderful and nobody else is ever allowed to touch my hair.

Went as part of a bachelors party. Staff was very friendly and easily accommodated us six men for shaves and haircuts. We called ahead so they were prepared.Cool little building in a nice part of town. The shaves were excellent. Always wanted to have it done and I would definitely do it again. They were very skilled with what they do.

Despite arriving 1 hour and 20 minutes before closing, the receptionist was unfriendly after initially saying she could squeeze me in. She quickly followed by asking if I had an appointment, which I did not. She then said this time of night is really difficult and that they were now full. Mind you, there was only one customer in the barber shop, already getting his haircut. Not a fan and wont return here. Its unfortunate as the environment was old school and fun.

The ambiance is amazing and Margaret L is AMAZING! I’ve been coming here for years and would recommend it to everyone.

Very friendly staff! Definitely a more pricey option but always feel well taken care of and leave more than happy with the haircut that I got. They also have a great selection of hair products, with helpful recommendations from the staff.

You will get a *damn* good haircut at State Street Barbers. The chain really maintains a highly-skilled staff and I cannot recommend them more. I visited this location every two months for two years when I lived in the area, and received excellent service each and every time I visited.

I am a first time customer and will definitely be a repeat customer. The staff that I met were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, and ensured I left with the hair cut I wanted and satisfied.

This is my go-to spot in Chicago. I vetted This out quite a bit but every time I visit State Street, I always feel like Im taken care of.

Great place for a haircut. Just don’t trust the timelines that the call center gives you. I’ve now tried to call ahead twice for a cleanup before a business trip to be turned away upon arrival. They refused to transfer me to the location to confirm for some godforsaken reason. Nonsense! Bad form. Waste of time.

Terrible experience. If you are looking for surperclips in a barber chair at 4x the cost this is the place for you. The barber smelt of old cigarette but it actually would have been preferable for him to smoke another to reduce his irritation of a customer coming in late on a Monday. Never good when the person holding a blade to your scalp makes you feel uncomfortable.

Entered as a walk-in and was told to come back in 15 minutes and we can take you.15 minutes later I come back only to be told by the same person there is actually no availability for several more hours. Clearly no respect for patrons time.
