Best barber shop in Chicago. Mike (Marios son) gives a great cut and the atmosphere is second to none. A family business that has stood the test of time. Organized a neck shave for all of my groomsmen the morning of my wedding and Mario, Mike and Jason showed us a great time and we all looked incredibly fresh heading into the big day. Definitely recommend!

Cant say enough about Marios - Ive been coming here since I moved to Chicago and I wont be getting my hair cut anywhere else as long as I can help it. Mike - in particular, does a phenomenal job matching my vision with his cuts. I can honestly say I havent had a complaint about a single haircut hes given me in 2+ years of patronage. Everyone should come here if theyre looking for a stylish, appropriately valued haircut.

Great place to get a cut, have plenty of other services (think any and all services at a true mens barbershop). Nice atmosphere and looks like a discount for DePaul students too. I walked in, got lucky to schedule later the same day, very accomodating.

Got a haircut with Mario. Seems like a nice guy but very disappointed with the cut. Asked for a simple trim since I couldn’t make it out to my guy in the suburbs.Hair was uneven on the sides, sideburns were uneven (had to fix myself when I got home), hard part put in at the wrong angle (former line was still there for guidance), and left a rash on my neck from the uneven clippers.I had to cancel my plans and go to my usual guy the very next day to get it fixed. He thought I was joking when I told him I got a haircut the day before. I’ve had better haircuts from great clips. Go somewhere else.

A great place for a reasonably priced hair-cut. All of the barbers are nice and fun to talk to. Theyre always busy on the weekends though so while you might get lucky with walking-in I would suggest making an appointment. They usually have donuts on Saturdays too!

Marios is a very professional and couteous barber...just a little pricey but very much so worth it! Ive known Mario for years and hes really an all around good guy.

My husband has been going to Mario for years and he gave our son his first haircut when he was just over 1 year old. There are 2 other great barbers there but we only use Mario. Mario is very patient with our son, who hates hair cuts, and is really amazing with him. He also always does a great job no matter how much our son squirms. They also offer doughnuts on Saturday mornings if you book early and their mini fridge is always sticked with beer and water. I with salons were as nice as to offer me a beverage.

A great haircut in a classic barber shop for a fair price. Some perks include a beer while you wait, straight razor neck shave with your cut, and great conversation. While you may be able to get in as a walk-in, I would definitely recommend calling ahead to setup a time as they can get quite busy in the evenings and on the weekends.

Everyone is super friendly. I just go for a crewcut, and its the best price Ive found in the area. I didnt think I would want the neck shave that comes with everything haircut, but now that Ive had it I dont think Ill go back.

I may be a little biased, but when I was little this was the first place I ever got my hair cut. I dont remember that at all obviously and I never really thought much about it until I graduated and moved into the city. One day my dad, knowing I needed a haircut, told me hed take me down there and show me a good place. Knowing my dad this place was going to be the classic barbershop that everyone knows. A couple local guys that have grown with the city and made that block their home. This didnt disappoint.We walked in and it was like my dad was there yesterday. Mario... The owner, obviously, was sitting behind the counter and recognized him instantly bombarding us with questions about my dads old friends. I sat down and low and behold the man who used to cut my dads hair stayed in the corner and his son walked out and started cutting mine. Seemed like a fitting scenario for my first time back.REVIEW: Now for the part that people actually care about. This place is a perfect barbershop. the atmosphere brings you back to the old-timey barbershops where three people are sitting around doing nothing while one of them decides to start cutting your hair. Its great for all ages and the cuts are second to none. Ever since I came back to the city Ive walked from my train stop about 15 in the opposite direction of my house passing atleast two other barbershops, just to get my hair done at this place. Its the best Ive ever had. Ill probably never go any where else while Im in the city.
