I always schedule to do my haircut with David. He is very professional. I give him 5 star for his professionalism and good quality haircut. But he is not always available. Yesterday (8/6/2021), David was not available and i scheduled do the haircut with someone else at 6:20 PM. He knew what he was doing. He did do good job, he gave me the haircut i wanted but he also ruined my hair style (Aatached picture). I know things happen in life we make mistakes, but we apologize and try to fix it right? He pretended as if nothing happened, i was like really dude. Id never right bad review for such a good store, but with no hair in the right side, i dont feel good at all. The whole day i was not confident because of the bad haircut. I really did not like that part. I had to tell him that he ruined my side hair. He removed a big chunk of my hair right there in the right side. I asked him to try fixing it. He tried but i was scared it might even get more worse. So i thanked him for the TRY. Arturs barber shop is very good if i ignore what happened yesterday.

This review is a longtime coming but Ive been going to Arturs Barbershop for about a year now and every visit was a great experience. David, who I see, does an excellent job and meets my needs. Also, hes a nice guy and easy to get along with. In fact, everyone there is pleasant and professional. I highly recommend!

I understood better why all my friends prefer this place when there are many cheap barbers around. Frankly, I am a very meticulous, even annoying person about my haircut. I watch the barber Im going to for a few minutes before I go in. I made my appointment for Wednesday. Before I went inside, I took a peek inside from the outside of the window. The young man, who was going to cut my hair in a few minutes, carefully clean the station after sending his customer off. The barber carefully wiped his chair with a spray. He dipped the combs in the disinfectant water. He swept the floors and began to wait for his new client (me). Thats when I went in. The barber smelled a nice lotion. It was extremely clean and cool inside. The barber asked me how I was doing with a smiling face, then he said how would you like your hair. I described it to him. My previous barber would ask me questions with weird words that would take me minutes to describe. I just told this young man that the sides are medium short, I dont even need to describe the tops. He said I understand. It was obvious that he was confident. I dont really like to talk while getting my haircut, but this young man was so energetic that we talked a lot. His speech was not 100% intelligible and he had a heavy accent, I think Greek or Portuguese or eastern European. But that doesnt change anything. Sorry but I will compare again. This young man done my haircut, (which my previous barber had done in 1 hour) -making me sleep every time-, in less than 20 minutes. He actually finished it in 15 minutes. In the next 2-3 minutes, he checked my hair from right, left, front, back and diagonally, from all angles, and made touch-ups and straightening the marked areas. Hot towel service after neck shave, plus back and shoulder massage (with a vibrating massage machine) All in all, Id give it 10 stars. Great cleanliness, cheerful atmosphere, terrific service, cheap price...

This place came highly recommended from a few different people who live in my building. So when you have a full week of interviews and a mess on top of your head who else better unfortunately the two gentlemen that came recommended were booked and they don’t open again till after the holiday. Then one of the guys said he could get me in. So I ran to the atm and came back but it wasn’t with who i thought it was a young guy came out I apologized first because as I explained “I’m lost I need help I need something presentable with a medium length.” He was very nervous which made me second guess the cut so I left. HOWEVER the place comes highly recommended and the atmosphere was definitely that of a Barbershop that I would go to. Lesson learned I’ll try again but I’ll call ahead and book first

I just had my beard trim with Joshua and it was more than Ive expected.He was professional and very attentive.He definitely will be my to go person to have my beard trim.His work on my bread was superb, the hot and cold towels were soothing and relaxing.I would definitely recommend his services to any of my friends.He definitely deserves 5/5.Highly recommended.👍

Always the perfect cut from David. Tip: theyre really busy and dont allow walkins. You can book online with Resurva, though. Search Arturs. You can select your stylist and time. They offer a variety of services from kids cuts to beard & mustache trims. Highly recommend if youre in the Edgewater area and need a cut.

Artur’s Barbershop is the best barbershop in Chicago! He always values his customers and has great prices!! His place has been remodeled extremely well since he opened a few years ago, and he keeps making improvements!! The barbers are extremely nice and professional. They listen to all your needs and concerns, and the owner wants you to come back if you’re not satisfied, for a personal haircut or your money back! The owner really cares about his customers and you could tell with the amount of clientele that comes back to get their haircut.

I’m usually not one to complain or leave a bad review but I can’t get over how upset I am with the worst haircut of my life (and I’ve been to a training school for a haircut when I was a kid!) The barber didn’t even allow me to watch as he did the exact opposite of what I had asked. It was uneven and what’s even more upsetting, I showed the barber a photo of me, of what I wanted BEFORE he started and explained what I wanted. I’ve been coming here for over a year and always work with David, I made the mistake of straying since he wasn’t in today. Sad part is, I don’t think I can even trust going back when David returns! I hate looking for a new barber!!

Shop is a bit small but perfect, and they are all very good at cutting hair, plus each barber/ stylist has great personality. Barber shops are hard for me because I dont do well with the culture of some places and others just dont know how to cut. Arturs is cozy, quick, and good. All the barbers are nice. Also one of the more affordable places. I knocked a star bc a lot of the barbers dont use clipper guards (??) which leads to an inconsistent cut if you have black hair like me, but the way I style my hair nowadays it doesnt matter.

Not only that, the conversations between everyone has me laughing the whole time and I always leave with a smile on my face. Asked for simple cut with no skin got home and everything is uneven. I should have not tried a new Barber since they are not all seasoned, especially since others were waiting for the other barber. Just like anything good, once you have a good thing, never cheat or youll need to wait till all grows back enough to get it fixed.

Artur, the shops owner, is truly an artisan. He takes his time and always gives a precise, clean cut that I cant get anywhere else. The whole experience is pleasant, from the smell of the talcum power he uses, to the hot towels he puts on your face before a straight razor shave. This is my favorite barber shop out of the 3 or 4 shops I have tried in the area. I have been coming here since it has opened, and will go out of my way to do so.The pacing of the haircut and Arturs chair side manner is very professional and refined, and adds a lot to the experience as well. I get my hair cut more often than I need to simply because its relaxing, and I feel good when my hair looks great.Once and only once I was not 100% happy with my hair cut. I went back two days later and Artur fixed me up, and he refused to take any money for the clean up. He is a great guy and even better barber. If you need a cut, a shave or a beard trim on the north side, Arturs is THE place to go.Edit: My fiance LOVES the way he trims my beard. Gentlemen, getting a hair cut at Arturs is an easy way to look good for the ladies. :-)

Very convenient location off the red line. I have had all three barbers who work there and all of them are skilled and friendly. The owner is a super nice guy who makes you feel welcomed. Looking forward to my next visit.

What a great first time experience going to a barber shop! Both Artur and Mercy were really hospitable the whole time and Mercy gave me one of the best cuts I’ve ever gotten in my life. I am in the process of looking for a new Barber and I took a shot at Arthurs. Where a women named Mercy was in charge of making me look my best, and boy did she! I have really thick complicated hair but Mercy made it her own and really gave me a personalized feel. She is a very talented Hair Stylist and I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for a new barber! I had never bee lined up or even went to the skin on my low fade, but I did it with Mercy and it is safe to say it is one of the best haircuts ive ever received!!

My first experience at Arthurs was 5 stars. Today my experience with my barber was pleasant, but with a few problems. My barber was very charismatic and confident(but not overly), however, there must have been a bit of a misunderstanding with shaping up my beard as its now a bit shorter than I would have liked. Its hair though; it will grow back. Ive also got a sort-of undercut style going on and he missed quite a few hairs at the edge of the buzz leading up to my longer hair so its going to look a bit awkward putting my hair up or in a pompadour now. Easy fix, but not entirely satisfied. I originally communicated that I wanted a little off the top, but that must have slipped his mind and I was honestly hesitant to say anything about it at that point. I dont think poorly of this barber, nor the shop. I think clarification is important, however.

Best care Ive ever had at a barbers. Due to prior experiences Im generally pretty leary towards barbers, especially so when finding a new one. Here I was perfectly comfortable and was only more so as the haircut went on. Artur himself is a very skilled and capable man. He quickly understood my request and delivered beyond expectations. Pricing here is not altogether unreasonable, consistent with the location, age, and skill of the shop. Arturs is a one man operation at the moment and the appointment scheme is similar to that of Father and Sons; walk in, put your name on the board, and take a load off.

Everyone here is great. They could have given Samson a good haircut! Why go somewhere else when you can go here?

This shop is the home of artisan’s. I went to this shop looking a mess, and when they were done with me I barely recognized my own reflection in the mirror. I got both a shave and haircut and I look great!!! Not even gail force winds could stop me from coming back through the doors. Awesome job.

Excellent barber cuts, friendly comfortable atmosphere, and at the end you get a hot towel on the neck to boot! I have comple trust in Artur’s clippers, scissors, and razor. He is very skilled and understands how to shape your cut with the natural pattern of your hair.

This has to be the best haircut I ever had. He knew how to use my gazilian cowlicks to an advantage. Hair just falls in the right places.
