Easily one of the better more realized venues Ive been to. Loved the ornamentation throughout the entire complex, the very easy going attitude of the staff, the prompt wait staff, great selection in the gift shop. Went and saw Yam Haus and Blue October and definitely look forward to future trips to the House of Blues!
Last year I purchased a VIP Meet & Greet ticket to see my girl Tinashe, but I was cancelled due to covid. In July Tinashe announced she was going on tour, I purchased a VIP meet & greet ticket again, but arrived late & missed the meet & greet. I talked to her team selling her merch, they tell me to come back after the show, I ENJOYED HER PERFORMANCE, and met her after the show.
Very classy venue. I loved the lay out, the art, the colors. Incredible, very personal connection with the band I went to see. I was so overjoyed to be so close to my favorite band. If theres enough room for a bunch of head banging metal heads, rest assured if your show is there, prepare for an amazing experience! Highly recommend!
Voodoo Shrimp is what we came for and it was delicious as usual. Enjoyed the Cadillac Margarita also. Love it here, nice ambiance and good food/ drinks
I went for Trap Karaoke. The line wraps around the building regardless of you being early or late. Parking was horrible, I suggest going to a nearby garage. There are no seats at this venue. Standing room only. I was not aware of that when buying tickets. However, the restaurant inside is amazing. Great blues band, a tad loud but I enjoyed myself.
Ive come here with my wife 4 times now (shes been over 10). I love the venue and the bands that they play. Weve never been disappointed and we tried both the food and the drinks for the first time when we came this time. They had multiple bars in several locations so there was never really a line to wait for a drink even when everyone arrived in a sold out venue. Honestly I had the best Mai tai Ive ever had here and the did actually tasted pretty great. The menu is pretty limited but everything they make is tasty. The prices are also very reasonable based on other venues Ive been to so both my wife and I were about to get a variety of drinks and food without breaking the bank.
Cool, decor, great blues live music and the best shrimp and fried grits ever! That creamy Chipotle sauce is to die for! The atmosphere is just something. Do not miss. We heard great things about Saturday brunch, too!
Love the House of Blues! We were able to show up before 10PM and catch a local act before getting into the main room around back for a show with much more people in a concert-like venue. Great scene, great decor, great music.
Hardly anyone was masked, drunks talking through the entire set ruining things for other patrons and a fistfight in the audience.Blue October was GREAT though!
R&B only was good.. I was expecting a super dope night. But with the pandemic U have to understand that things in life will probably never get back to normalcy as far as the Nostalgia feel you get when you out enjoy the nightlife 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Excellent ambiance. We didnt get the chance to enjoy much music though. There was a single guy with his guitar playing the blues. No band. More of a place to go eat with your friends or family than a joint to listen to the music. References to the blues Brothers and their 1980 movie.
Great venue with very helpful staff, cosy atmosphere with good food and drink. Going back as often as I can
Love going to this venue for shows and their food is decent too
Amazing food, live music and ambience! Definitely coming back whenever we will be visiting Chicago again.
Great venue. Usually great shows. Staff is friendly but the security is just bad. They act like cops and threaten u over anything.
R&B night. Some of the songs werent r&b but it was fine to just be there.
Nice place but its to dark to see where I am going maybe add some lighting so I dont bump into a table or velvet rope
One of my favorite places to see live music!!!
Went for the R&B Only event. Enjoyed myself and definitely will return for other events.
While in Chicago the House of Blues Is a great place to have dinner. It was within walking distance from our hotel. They had Live music while you enjoy your dinner. Staff was very helpful with recommendations on what to eat and drink. Food and drink were delicious. Great customer service. Will stop by again on our next trip to Chicago.
It was good, very quiet on a Thursday night. Props to the fellow playing to a real sparse crowd.
Clean bathrooms. Good sound. Much nicer than the Metro or Riviera when it comes to intimate venues in Chicago.
Went for Zoes concert, amazing place with amazing symbols on the walls, especially above the scene!!!Real pleasure to see
One of the best jazz clubs in Chicago. Went on a Wednesday evening and ended up being there for 3 hours. Their bands were that good. Funky mojo daddy were out of this world. Highly recommend visiting here when in the windy city. It is am experience and a treat to the eyes and ears. Bar has many choices and you can order dinner too.
Of all the venues in Chicago for live music, House of Blues is the undisputed KING of delivering a damn good time.
No tissue and soap in bathrooms. The bar was taking orders for food, it was really busy, and it was chaotic. Food sat on the end of the counter until ice cold. Not enough help for the event they were having. However the staff was very nice.
Had a blast. Burger was good, but nothing crazy amazing
Ive heard many stories about the House of Blues and my first experience there was awesome! I saw Starset and the whole venue was rocking. Several bars were there for convenience and you could even get food which always dont seem to be an option when going to a concert. There are two floors and each offered a good view of the event. Obviously the earlier you got in the better so you could stand by the railing but I was behind a couple standing at the railing and still saw everything. There a couple parking garages just a few blocks away from the venue which makes parking easy because parking in Chicago can be a real pain. Overall, a very positive experience and I cant wait to go back.
Great food, the blues musicians there were awesome too. Will certainly be back, a lot of fun!
A staple of Chicago River North night life, dont miss the beautifully decorated interior of this venue
I had a really nice time and so is my companys
Ugh, I wish I could give a higher rating but so many little annoying things add up. First, day of show I call and ask what the seat prices are. I bought 1 on main floor for 125. I had asked if there were some seats on the rail next to the stage. I was told no but when I arrive, there are seats there available. Plus they were selling seats for 75. Why was I charged 50 extra. Plus my seat was NOT on the main floor but on the elevated seating area behind the sound/mixer section, not to mention my table is behind another table so my view is really obscured. Also, as far as the restaurant goes the hostess said I could sit at the bar or rail across from the bar and a waiter would come. After 20 minutes and several employees looking right at me, nobody came. I had to go ask for a menu and then after deciding what I wanted, I had to go find another employee to give my order to. Security was nice. The decor is great. The food is average but priced high. The beer is expensive as is at every music venue. I left my credit card with the waiter, I came back 5 minutes after I left and asked an employee about it at the door. He said if I left it, they put it in a safe and I have to get it the next day. I left like 5 minutes before that and the employee would not go check to see if it was in fact locked in the safe till tomorrow. Ill never buy a seat over the phone again, as they are misleading were the seats are and charge extra for them. Tesla was awesome. The pics were taken at the restaurant and some when I was walking around. The last pic was at my seat and you can see the empty table in front that will be full when the people who reserved it show up and the mixer/sound station. Very disappointing and I feel cheated.
A truly unique experience and venue for avid music goers. The history of the building alone is worth the visit. Beautifully designed and great acoustics make for a memorable concert experience. The only drawback is there arent many seating options available. Its an open floor concept so the only seats are box seats in the balcony and a few bar chairs surrounding the outer edges of the main floor. But thats a minor issue. The food served here is also very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend attending the House of Blues for a concert!
Was fortunate to play it back with Reggie and the full effect and Frank Iero in 09. Awesome venue love the artwork and decor always try to stop and visit when in Chicago.
The restaurant has good drinks and the best blackened salmon that I have ever had. It was very tasty and my friends and I were able to cut the line for the concert because we spent over $25 per person at dinner. The house of blues itself as a concert venue is a little crowded when you stand on the main floor, plus it gets a little hot but you get what you pay for. I would go back.
A indoor venue that doesnt blow out your ear drums
First time at HOB. Staff were great; very friendly and helpful. We had a group of 11, so the food took a little time, but it was fine. I ordered the brisket, which came with slaw, pickles, jalapeno corn bread, and beans. It all tasted good, but it wasnt really anything special compared to other places with good brisket, which made the price seem a bit high. Otherwise, I had a great time. (It was my birthday, and they did bring me a cookie and ice cream in a skillet.)
The place is very nice! I attended the Rick Astley Concert . We found convenient garage parking right across the street. This is a standing room concert location. The architecture in the building is very pleasing. Many bars through out the concert hall. The sound and light show was amazing. I really enjoyed my concert experience!
Great time never disappoints! Great staff overall!
Very cool looking place! Funky folk art covering the walls, Blues Brothers memorabilia, gift shop, lots of bars, and great sound throughout the venue. First time here and I thought the place was great. All staff was VERY friendly and kept things in order when the crowd/line got out of hand. Very impressed! Loved it. Saw Miyavi.
I really enjoyed this place. They had the most postive and kind waiters that I have seen in chicago thus far. The food was amazing. I wasnt expecting the dishes to be so amazing. My friends and I tried a variety of dishes and all of them were banging. Even the restroom was kept tidy during my visit. I cant wait to visit again after this pandemic.
The House of Blues is definitely a good place to go. It is not only extremely educational considering some of the facts posted around the building, but it is also quite an interesting and artistic building. The food is definitely not bad as well. It is over priced in some aspects which I will get to, but it is still quite good. We ordered jambalaya and added shrimp which doesnt automatically come with it which is odd considering every jambalaya I have ever eaten has shrimp already in it. The bowl of jambalaya is $18 by itself and you get around 2 cups full. If you want to add shrimp you pay additional of $6 for 4 shrimp which are the 16/20 size. The jambalaya was ultimately well made with good spice to it. I dont think 4 shrimp at $6 is fair priced but the jambalaya was still good. The grilled salmon that was originally ordered doesnt come with any starch which we thought it did, so we ordered sweet potato French fries which are good. The salmon was still raw in the middle after taking a bite and it had an off taste to it so we sent it back after talking to the waitress. We then ordered the grilled mahi sandwich which was very good. The only downside and disappointment to the food was that there was a bone in a piece of chicken, there was a fairly large piece of bay leaf left in the jambalaya which is horrible to bite into, and the 4 shrimp with the tails still on were not priced accordingly and should have had the tail removed. The ice tea was good as well. We decided against a dessert at this meal. All in all, House of Blues was worth going to and definitely worth visiting if you are in Chicago for a visit.
Dinner at House of blues was awesome. The show by Best of the 90s was so much fun. The service was Superior. We were upgraded from the floor seating to a box and had our own attendant. I made a few trips into the Foundation Room where they had a blues band playing. I wish I had that much fun at every show.
There to hear the band Mississippi Heat. Great music and food.
Food and cocktails in the Foundation Room were exceptional!! The staff is awesome and there are plenty of them. Lots of history in here
Top notch, hands-down one of my favorite places to catch a show. This venue is awesome. It’s just big enough to bring in some big national acts yet small enough you can see them in a more intimate setting.
Such a great, cool venue. Not always the best viewing of the stage but always fun.
Fantastic vibes and every spot in the venue is close to the artist
Food was good and the comedy show was very entertaining.
There are too many stairs to give this place five stars.
Drinks too expensive and they dont allow handbags of any size. The venue itself is nice looking but its just too businessy, like Vegas
This venue is amazing for seeing a concert. I highly recommend using the VIP tickets to get the best view. The performance i went to would not have been the same without the VIP location and for a concert experience that is once in a lifetime, it’s worth the extra money! If you do decide to do general admission, then go early and purchase dinner to get a better seat!!
The House of Blues has kept my money from a twice canceled Sepultura concert. They have been in possession of my money for like 15 months now. Totally unprofessional. The last show I attended here was Overkill and a couple pushed there way up to the stage barrier she was long haired. In the dark I could not tell if it was a male or female but I started getting hit with elbows in my rib cage. I had to forcefully push the female of off me. Then the front stage security was looking at me like I was the Culprit.
Metal/Rock concert was amazing. Im glad I was able to get a decent spot from my view. Definitely a good place to enjoy a show.
Great brunch w lots of options and unlimited mimosas and oj w fun, live entertainment. Highly recommended for everyone.
Worst venue I have ever been in. Staff was super unhelpful. They picked and choosed who they wanted in. Just all around a very lazy and uncomfortable experience
First time experience! My husband surprised me with a Michael Jackson Tribute! Loved the uniqueness about the place. The only thing is that they didnt have many seats.
Loved it and not expensive at all. Great music, friendly staff and little shop to but nicknacks.
Fantastic place! The main hall upstairs is spacious and cozy at the same time. Intimate but big.The whole space is decorated in very interesting ways, which is entertainment on top of the show you will see. And there are two floors so it never feels too crowded. There are stairs to go up but they also have an elevator.Great experience and really cool place.
Great venue with an interesting style. Never had to wait for a drink. Ive never seen so many bars for the that size of venue. Drinks were a bit more expensive than Im used to in Saint Louis.
Such intricate details everywhere, absolutely awesome. The comedy show was hilarious. We will be back!
Cozy, friendly place. I visited on Sunday so it wasnt packed but not empty either. Band was superb - Mississippi Heat. Price of local craft beer was reasonable. Loved the decor!
Good place for hangouts with friends while listening good blues 😎 beer and food options are good and will provide you a scenario in order to enjoy a good night.
I enjoyed myself for Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras. First ever doing something like that and the Food was pleasing! I dont have enough experience with the concert section to give it 5 stars. When Im able to attend Ill update my review.
One of the best concert experiences Ive ever had. Couldnt believe how lucky I was that Sir Sly (and as a bonus Joywave) was playing in a smaller venue like House of Blues. I mean, whhhat?!? Really theres not a bad spot in the place. Staff was really nice and the show was AMAZING! Both bands sounded just like their recordings. Ill definitely be back.
Staff was awesome, food was good & there was no coverage on a Saturday !
Had a blast here. The band was great. We attended a Kennametals private function and they really put on a great event. The venue was nice and clean. The bathrooms were huge and clean. The bartenders were nice and attentive.
Great place to listen to live music. And they cook up some first class food.
Really a great place to see a show. Big enough to get a good crowd but small enough to still feel somewhat intimate. Was my first time going to the House of Blues. As a first timer, I will say this place can be kind of confusing. Took me awhile to get the lay of the land. Next time I dont see this as being a problem. If you get up in the balcony, views can be obstructed. I advise getting there early to find your view of choice. I will see more shows here as it is truly a great place for a show.
Best indoor concert venue Ive ever been to simply because general admission is basically the pit in front of the stage. Most venues you have to purchase specific pit tickets that are way more expensive.
The bread pudding is to die for! Southern cooking and bbq made in house. Live music was great. Nice place to chill and enjoy an evening out.
Great music, food, and atmosphere. Live bands and occasional music celebrities jam sessions make a must go and see place. The music memorabilia is exquisite. Also, you can take a picture with the blues brothers!
Always an amazing show, LedZepp2 were PHENOMENAL, per usual. Dinner before the show, food and staff were great. Im never disappointed the countless times Ive been to HOB.
House of Blues Chicago is by far, the best HoB I have beem to!The staff - exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food - nothing short of incredible. The Foundation Room - surreal and stunning. The music - well, what can I say? Nothing but the best.I CANNOT wait to return to Chicago again so I can visit the House of Blues.
Such a cool event to attend. This brunch was not only great tasting, but a fun overall experience. Our waiter, Trey did a great job of making sure we were fully enjoying our experience at the House of Blues and in Chicago in general. The music and energy throughout the morning/ afternoon was uplifting. Highly recommend.
Very cool place to visit. I had a nice time listening to the music.
A fantastic place with lots of great food, music, and more!
Great venue! We did the pass the line option and got $50 towards our dinner! The music and food was great!
FOOD, DRINKS & MUSIC❤❤
Friend who works here let me in after hours. Had a blast! Nice place. Choice Liquors.
