The customer service was great. The food prices are very reasonable. I love there stuffed shrimp. Ask you waitress for garlic bread for your bread basket, you wont be disappointed. The mixed drinks are not watered down . I am planning on going again this week.

Had brunch there on May 8th with relatives I hadnt seen in years and some I had never met. Steves is a very No Frills, down to earth Lounge. They practice social distancing, have an old- style genuine bar very responsive staff, especially Rachel. But what about the food? They have a varied menu, including different types of seafood, beef, pasta; we dined on great mostaccioli, Fried Chicken without the 11 herbs and spices and very tasty, and some of the best beef Ive tasted since I worked downtown and ate at a little restaurant in the Sherman House 50 years ago. Need I say some of us took a sample of everything home? Absolutely a place to visit and check out.

You need a friday night fish fry, any friday...try Steves. A number of different fish including the old stanby Perch. Also has fried shrimp or chicken. Start with the complimentary relish tray and you can get sides and salad. The bar is a real intimate place with the small town feel. Special Get me started on Hegewisch, it small but pleasant

I cleaned the carpet at Steves Lounge a few days ago and decided to try their food yesterday. I cannot remember ever having better jumbo shrimp. I was telling an old friend about my experience today and he said it sounds like you were at Steves Lounge. I guess their reputation has evaded me all these years but it will no more as I have already sung their praises to three other people. Cant wait to try the lake perch and the polish sausage and sauerkraut.

The best food!! My family orders fresh polish sausage every year for Christmas. I called Steve’s this morning and spoke to Laura, so very nice. I was so afraid it was gonna be to late to order. And Laura was so kind and she said no problem. Such nice people to deal with. I have been there many times for weddings and funeral luncheons. Great food and Great customer service. And the bar is fun too! Thanks so much for everything.

Excellent fish frys Fridays. Been goung here for years . Just once in while. Top of the line service. A true bang for your buck. The staff is 5 Star on a bad day.

Awesome smoked ribs, brisket, pull pork!! Great fried chicken, homemade mostaccioli, best mash potatoes around!!! Great salad homemade dressing!!!

I really enjoyed this place. Old Chicago feel with old timers at a beautifully aged bar. Food was great and drinks were strong, Im never in that neck of the woods but if I ever am Ill have to stop in.

I can sum my 1st experience up in two words.... NEVER AGAIN

Went there on a Friday evening. The waitress who was there for 18 years was great and gave just the right level of attentiveness. The lunchroom style seating worked out great. My husband and I ended up having a great conversation with some regulars. The food was great! I am a new seafood eater and my beer battered cod was great light and fluffy, the cold slaw was great and the bread is fresh as well. We will be back for the all you can eat fish one day soon! I would definitely will recommend!!

We had lake perch,blue gill,shrimp,mushroom soup, potatoe pancakes. Everything was very good. Great service, Becky was very nice and kept the all you can eat shrimp coming. Will come back

They did the catering for our National Guard units Holiday party. The food was fantastic! Very helpful service too! Will use again soon.

I think that the true measure of a restaurant rests in its performance on a delivery order, especially when one has pre-paid by phone, as I did recently with my very first order from Steves in Hegewisch. 5-star kudos to the entire team, especially Laura & Steve, for their professionalism & attention-to-detail!The quality of the chicken & fish dinners and pulled pork sandwiches that I ordered was stellar! The food, even the relish tray included with each meal, was uber-fresh & homemade. The quantity of food was amazing: a real value! Great attention was given to the presentation & packing of the meals, and my order arrived in the timeframe indicated.Thanks again to the team at Steves. Your pride shows in your meals; I trust you & will order again soon.

Planned a party with Debbie who was super helpful. Event went off without a hitch, all guests were extremely happy, food delicious. We were able to arrive early to decorate. Overall great experience

I went here for my mother-in-laws funeral and I must say that the food was delicious but the hall was very cold and the ladies bathroom was extremely cold. When I asked if the heat was on the server told me that there was no heat in the winter and no air conditioning in the summer. Thats a shame because if there was I would have given them a 5 ster rating if I could.

Frog legs were excellent. But the cottage cheese was more like a Philly cream cheese instead and not cool...on the warm side. Sane with the cole slaw, watery and warm. But the beets were good.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life and will never come back. If you’re not white, or an actual decent human being, don’t waste your time or money here.

When you come by Steves for an event (or order catered food) you will be absolutely sure of the quality and taste; the great salad dressing, chicken, polish sausage and sauerkraut and more, great every time. One of the best on the south side.

Our first time here and well worth it. The service, the customers, the food, plus they even had free trivia which you can win prizes. We tried the blue gill, stuffed shrimp, dem bones BBQ ribs as well as veggie tacos. You start off with a bread basket(ask for the garlic bread as well as the regular bread ) both are so good. You also get cottage cheese, Cole slaw as well as beets. The portions were large and filling. For potato selection you have your choice of fries, baked or potato pancakes. The potato pancakes came with sour cream. Our server was a guy, can not remember his name, was on it. He was running around like crazy but did not get flustered or upset with questions . always a bonus. Our first time will not be our last thats for sure. Check it out on Fridays you wont be disappointed.

We were told by our friend that Steves Lounge has a good fish fry. For the first time we tried it last night as my dad had a craving for fish. We made a reservation 6:15 and was seated fast. However we waited close to 2 hours for our order to come. Which made the entire experience bad. I talked to our server and told us that wait can really be 2 hours which we werent inform of when we came. The table who was seated way after us got their food first before we received our food. Its just a shame because the food is really good but the service and wait is really bad. Also my dad who suggested to go to Steves wasnt able to eat his dinner because he had lost his apetite.

Went there for the fish fry. The food was delicious, everything was great, service atmosphere the look and smell of this place brought so many memories of when I grew up going to fish fries and polish weddings at the legion or VFW hall

I cant remember her name, but our waitress is the regular waitress that takes care of alot of the banquets. This was after my father-in-laws passing and she was amazing! Of course the food was very delicious but more so was the way the staff treated us because of the bereavement going on 🤗

Had the Walleye & didnt like it at all. Waitress just said oh really. Everyone else got shrimp or perch & said it was good. Service was so, so. There catering menu & good is excellent so I was surprised.

My family has had every major celebration for the past 40+ years at Steves. My mothers funeral was held away from Hegewisch, and I was so happy Steves catered. The food was delivered on time. It was delicious (as it always is). I cant say enough good things about Steves.

DO NOT order the All you can eat shrimp. Im surprised I didnt get sick from it. It was absolutely the worst shrimp Ive ever had...looked like fried clams. The taste was definitely not like the jumbo shrimp, which isnt bad. Waited 15 minutes for soup and then when she brought it out it was lukewarm. The food and service has declined a lot since my first review which is too bad.
