VanGogh like you’ve never seen his art displayed before, a wonder of art and music combined to deliver an experience unlike anything I’ve ever had the pleasure of being able to be a part of. If you are sensitive to loud music I recommend noise dampening headphones or ear plugs as it is quite loud. The venue is not very handicap accessible but the staff is to help in every way possible.
I can’t even describe how disappointed me and my girlfriend were at this Van Gogh exhibit. You are just in a room with projections all over the wall of half cut pictures from VG. That’s it. You don’t learn anything. You don’t get to appreciate anything. What a waste of money and time!!
IMMERSIVE VANGOGH, enough said!!!❤❤❤
I love this place! This was my second trip to Germania Place. First was a wedding in 2015 ... Which was beautiful. This recent trip was for the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. What a wonderful experience! Its easy to get to, parking garage 100 away.
Immersive Van Gogh experience was wonderful but the building is old and not very well ADA compliant. Small elevators, steep ramps inside the building, and old rickety wheelchairs. The staff was accommodating and extremely nice and warned us to be extremely careful. The building is beautiful.
Enjoyed my experience there for the van Gogh exhibit very much
Wonderful time! Great experience! The power of modern technology.
This was the Van Gogh immersion exhibit . It was very unique and fascinating.
Beautiful venue for the Van Gogh immersion.
Loved being Immersed in VanGogh!

Wonderful place to show an art exhibition.
We loved the art visual video.
This place is gorgeous!
Beautiful store and building.
I really enjoyed it
Fabulous venue!
Van Gogh exhibit
This place is incredible. So historic that the street is named after it. Al Capone used to have his office in this place. My little cousin got married there and it was absolutely an amazing place to have a wedding. The food was and I quote ridiculously ridiculously good. I wouldnt even say its just the best food Ive ever had in a wedding as I would say its probably just one of the better meals Ive ever had.
We had our wedding at Germania Place last weekend and it was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Do yourself a favor and have your event there. It is gorgeous, the staff is fantastic and the food is amazing. There was nothing wrong and everything was right! So happy with the way everything went!
I liked the setup of the venue and the fact that they did a little cocktail/mingle time before letting you into the actual hall for dinner. Dinner was amazing and they werent skimpy on the drinks. For the wedding that we were at, the AC couldnt keep up and we were sweating like crazy even when not dancing. It was very uncomfortable. Also, they should touch up the walls a pit since it looked like some were peeling. Maybe even put up a couple wall decorations since they look kind of plain.
Our daughter was married last weekend at Germania Place. We chose GP because it was recommended to us but also because last fall after touring the venue and meeting Genevieve we were sold. She was going to be our on site coordinator. I was relieved to have someone so capable handling that night. This was the first wedding I had ever planned, a little overwhelming at first. Having Genevieve be there that night would take a lot off of my plate, I could relax and enjoy myself the night of our daughters reception.Unfortunately, during the almost year of planning process, we had 3 or 4 other coordinators. A lot of turnover in that position. Genevieve was no longer our coordinator. Emails were not returned as immediately. Details not handled well in the tasting. Walk thru was underwhelming. We lost confidence in Germania Place. During this time we were introduced to Armando. He became our coordinator, our go to. The night of our event was PERFECT. Armando covered ALL of the details. I was able to relax. Placecards beautifully set on entry table, table numbers out properly, vendors well taken care of. The food was excellent. Bartenders on top of it. Servers seamless. (one small detail with one server taking wine from tables when guests went to dance--once brought to Armandos attention, problem solved.) One thing I was concerned about was tipping. It was a small detail but had been weighing on me. I wanted to make sure to tip anyone who helped with our wedding. I must have emailed Armando 3 or 4 times, trying to get it right. He was so patient, sent me a list of specifically who would be part of our crew. I was able to put a tip in each persons envelope with a thank you--important to me to thank each person. I gave Armando all of the tip envelopes and he gave them to each employee. A big thank you to all of the staff at Germania, and to Armando in particular. We had countless compliments about the food and the the venue. A magical evening, a night we wont forget!
I cant tell you how disappointed our family is. Our daughter was to be married this past Oct with the reception at the Germania club. She put down a larger than average deposit ($16,000) in order to recieve a discount on the per person price. In March of this year, her fiance called off the wedding due to illness. The Germania Clubs caterning office was contacted immediately, with hopes of obtaining a portion of the larger than average deposit. Many attempts to communicate with the catering office were made by both my daughter and wife. At one time we were told that if the Germania club could book the cancelled night that a portion of the deposit possibly could be returned. Well as it turned out the club did indeed book that evening. Again many more attempts were made by my daughter, to get closure on this issue. Finally, today the catering office rep repeated that they have no obligation to return any portion of the deposit, regardless of the circumstances and advanced warning of the cancellation, because they have a signed contract indicating NO RETURN OF DEPOSITS! Contracts yes, customer satisfaction NO! Buyer Beware.....
Went to a beautiful wedding reception here and the sunlight as it was setting in the cocktail space was magic!
The best wedding i ever been too David&Tiffany wonderful food
Apparently Germania Place is under new ownership, and they are starting out terribly. My friends are supposed to have their wedding there this November and just learned that the new owners are not honoring their reservation. So now they have to find a new venue in Chicago for over 250 people in two months. That’s just mean. I would not give them my business nor trust the new owners in any professional matter.
Went to a wedding here. it was alright... in july it was rather warm.. They should have cranked the air up. People actually passed out.
My best friend got married here this summer and unfortunately had more than 20 gifts and cards stolen from the locked room that only the staff had access to. A police report was been filed. It appears (staff) theft seems to be a reoccurring thing at Germania Place. A terrible incident to deal with...especially during your honeymoon.
I have been to Germania Place twice now - once for a networking event and once for a hosted party & concert. The fact that this venue worked well for both is a testament to the character and beauty of this historic building. The networking event was held on the 2nd floor and features separate but connected rooms that did well to host a check-in & socializing area, a dining area and a ballroom area that was used for a sponsor presentation and panel discussion. The shear character of each room gave us ample conversational topics for the evening. The concert was held one more floor up and touted two connected grand ballrooms with stages and plenty of room for seating, standing and general socializing. There was also a balcony area overlooking the stage in one of the ballrooms for an extra fun POV.Overall, unless youre a party / event planner youre probably not looking for much in a venue but I recommend saying yes to event invites at Germania Place. I believe it is most often booked for weddings and receptions however there are also architecture tours, networking events, hosted parties and other events (Im sure) held here. Its quite a sight to behold and it just adds a little something extra to the event and the stories the day after.
Great location to host events!
