I really enjoy this dealership. While I didn’t buy my Mazda from them, I will definitely consider buying my next car from them. All the staff treat me kindly, and I’ve never felt pressured. I love the service staff, who always carefully review my car with me and present me with options. The service department is so good, that I stopped going where I bought my car and regularly use this dealership instead. They have definitely earned five stars.
Courteous, professional sales rep Adrian greeted me and stayed in touch throughout my visit during which I had the oil changed and a nail removed from my tire. It took longer than expected, but they do have a waiting room with complimentary coffee and snacks; unfortunately, it got crowded in there with people who refused to wear a mask ( though after I mentioned it to Adrian, those people were asked to wear one. Idiotically, they wore it below their nose!) The staff I interacted with were all pleasant. The work is on the pricey side ($40 to patch a tire!), but thats a dealer for you.

Called in today for a 2020 Nissan Sentra filled out the application and was approved everything looked good until they come out with a used car inspection fee.They added $1,295 for that fee what can you possibly inspect on a 2020 vehicle with only 7,000 miles. I never asked for a discount on the car and they add this. I ask the sales representative Adrian if there’s was anything that could be done because I was interested in purchasing, I mean they had ran my credit and everything I was ready to buy the car. He said no, my manager said no. I would not recommend this scam of a place to anyone. They don’t care what the customer wants all they want is your money.

I loved the vehicle I went to see here. Ive been looking for it for half a year and finally found it. Was hoping to close the deal and drive home a new car. Offered me good money for my trade. BUT THEY ADDED 10K TO THE ORIGINAL PRICE OF THE VEHICLE. THEY ADD ALL THESE FEES AND CHARGE THE CUSTOMER FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF THE USED VEHICLE!! After I left after being there 3 hours of wasting my time, 15min later the finance manager calls me AND BEGINS TO ARGUE WITH ME AFTER I TOLD HIM WHAT MY NUMBERS WERE AND TOLD HIM TO EXPLAIN TO ME HOW DID THE PRICE JUMP UP 10K THAN THE PRICE I ORIGINALLY WAS SHOWN!!! They WILL try to scam good honest people. I hope they see this and realize they lost a potentially loyal customer that would have loved to continue making business with te over the years.
I had the opportunity to take home my first car from this Mazda dealership. It was totally a great blessing and God-ordained opportunity. Wasn’t sure when we came by last week if I was able to get one on my own. Through the help of Chris King and the entire team, and of course God’s grace, we were able to have a smooth transaction within the day. I have been eyeing on this car brand for many years now and finally got my own. Consistent prayer prepares us to move in God’s timing. And I commend this Mazda dealership that they know how to choose such great people to employ and train in a way that they excel in their own capabilities.
Avoid this place at all costs! Wife showed up with a pre-approved loan and was prepared to pay sticker price. Just before we’re about to write a check and sign the paperwork, the salesman hits us with an additional $6k in unnecessary dealer products. After going back and forth, the sales guy said the quiet part out loud. “I know you don’t need this warranty but this is how we make money and someone else will gladly pay for it”. That was all I needed to hear. Wife and I ended up going to Crystal Lake Mazda and had no issues.
Kevin, The salesman was a good guy and was able to show me several different options with different packages to choose from. He did a great job asking questions and listening to what I wanted in a car, he also paid attention to my budget and was able to give some great options. I enjoyed my experience there and would highly recommend McGrath and Kevin!

The car I wanted was at first a bit over my budget, but Chris and his team were able to work it out and pull some strings to make the car more affordable for me. Service today was below expectations. Came in for a scheduled oil change and wiper blade replacement, was told would take max 90 minutes; based on previous experience I knew this was unlikely, glad I didnt wait at the dealership. As usual, was called about 90 minutes later, not to tell me oil change was done on time but rather to recommend another $600 worth of services. Im not taking a star off for that, as I cannot prove that they were not good recommendations...a couple of them seemed suspicious, the others I agreed to. Rep was unresponsive via text, and overall service ended up taking not 90 minutes but 5 hrs! Ive been to this location multiple times and not once have they delivered exactly when they said they would, but this was bad even for them. I hope management finds a way to address communication and efficiency.
I had a great experience my sales person was Yasmin, she pretty much knew all about the features. I would recommend this place to anyone actually my friend is thinking about coming by to take a look at the same vehicle. It took me about 3 months to make a final decision.
Overall my car buying experience was great. Christopher King helped me through the car buying process. He was not too forceful in terms of pushing a sale. He worked to get to a price that fit within the budget, and I now have a new Mazda CX-5. I recommend Mazda, particularly this dealership, and of course Chris.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience at McGrath City Mazda. We came in right before end of year and were taken care of by Karla and Jesse. Both were very accommodating and helpful. Dealership was a bit backed up and finance department took slightly longer than normal processing times but even that didnt make our experience worse. Will be happy to send friends and family over to McGrath.
I got new car from young sale person which is not that great experience. Not enough knowledge and never follow up. I should get someone more experience than him. We missed a lots of communication about Android auto for my Mazda 6 touring. But the BEST part about dealer here was service department. I came back for few time for some services and got best care from them. Fast services as well.Financial department also friendly and easy as well.I recommend to do your most research about model you like before choosing the salesperson.
This dealership was very helpful in finding the perfect car for me at the right price. Karla, the sales person I worked with, was accommodating with all questions I had and both in person visits. As a first time buyer, I would recommend working with her as she was very patient and informative with the car buying process.
Look through these reviews for that key word - “internet sales manager”. Don’t give these guys your personal information or they’ll be calling you, texting you, and emailing you constantly. It’s a shame because when I’ve been into the dealership, the other salesman were very nice, helpful, and professional! It’s really a case of one bad apple spoiling the bunch, but it also means I’m taking my business elsewhere.
Out of state buyer beware! We went to Chicago to purchase a Mazda CX-5 (which we love!!) because they were a great deal in this crazy car buying environment and were assured that the title could be processed in our home state. However we are 30 days in, our temporary plates have expired, and the DMV in our state has still not received any paperwork from this dealership. We have called repeatedly for the name of the title company they use to speak with the title company and have been told they cannot disclose that. We have been promised things were expedited and that for sure our title would be in by last Thursday, but again the DMV has received absolutely nothing! Now we have a car we love sitting in our driveway that is illegal for us to drive. When we asked for a loaner car from the dealership we were told that was not possible. It has been a very frustrating experience.

One thing made better by the pandemic is the car buying experience. After doing my due diligence in researching the car that would best suit my budget and lifestyle, I was able to negotiate the entire deal through text, phone and email. This included trade-in and financing. They even delivered the car in the far south west suburbs. This was a great improvement over our last vehicle purchase where we felt like we were being held hostage in the dealership. If all future car buying could be conducted in this manner, I would be thrilled.
Jim and the entire service crew are outstanding! They made sure I was set up with a loaner vehicle while my car was being worked on, and got my car back to me that same week. These guys put the customer first!

Internet sales manager follows up profusely. No high pressure sales, also not much negotiation. Could not get the office I want, so got the same car, $1K less in a dealership 10 miles away.
Horrible experience from beginning to end. Called a few hours in advance to check inventory on a vehicle and set up an appointment. Confirmed via text right before embarking on a 1 hour drive to the city. When we arrived the car was not ready, we had to sit an additional 45 minutes waiting for them to get it ready for a test drive, apparently the car had a dead battery. After the test drive we were very interested and began negotiating, we offered the market value for the vehicle which was cross referenced with KBB and CarGurus Market Value analyzer, both listed the vehicle at $2000 less (dealer cost not private sale) than what McGrath had it listed for. The salesman declined the offer and did not even offer a explanation, simply told us that he couldnt do that price. There was zero customer service provided to even attempt and save the sale. We walked up and left. The overall feeling was that it was later in the day (we got there around 5:45PM) and everyone wanted to go home, there was very low energy at this dealership. We did not feel welcomed and to say there was any customer service would be a stretch. Do better guys, try to save a sale and dont waste peoples time.
I had a very pleasant experience bringing my car here to fix an infotainment system problem as well as to do a synthetic oil change. I would not hesitate to bring my car back here. They were friendly, prompt, communicative, and I felt like the price for what I got was fair. They also washed the car. I also want to commend them for never making me feel uncomfortable by trying to push extra maintenance on the car. Instead, they gave me an explanation and quote for necessary upcoming maintenance on my after-visit summary sheet. I will be back!
Jim in the service department saved our day today! I live in the suburbs- my daughter lives in the city. She came to take “our” baby- our 2002 Mazda Miata convertible to the city today…..to have fun with it during Chicago summer. The Miata broke down near DePaul University. Today was 90 degree heat! Constant communication with Jim- head of service department- kept me (the frantic mother) appraised. He was so wonderful. I will be back in touch with him on Monday. Thank goodness there are still good people willing to help. They will get our 2002 Miata back to where it needs to be- when my “local” garage told me in April 2021, the car was in GREAT condition. Terrible customer service and unethical sales tactics. Our saleswoman was incredibly nice, but the internet sales manager was rude and sketchy. He made a lot of insinuations that the quoted internet prices would be “slashed” by the time we came to our appointment, but gave us the runaround when we asked about McGrath Mazda’s ability to “slash” prices when we arrived on the lot. Overall, it would’ve been a huge waste of time, but our $42 Uber ride from a bad experience gave us a chance to do research and talk with our driver that gave us great information on how to negotiate for a better price.
I had a great experience at this dealership. I went in with my mom, they had the car I wanted to look at ready, test drove it, and then got to business.. Jessica helped me with the process and she was really good at not being pushy and letting the car kind of sell itself. Yet she still was able to answer any questions I had. With the process going smoothly I was able to purchase the car that same day and with it being certified, I really felt comfortable about my purchase.. I love my 2018 Mazda3!!
Overall, I had a great buying experience with manager Jesse, Elliot, and Adelina. They were both very accommodating to me and my dad. This was my first time buying a vehicle, however my girlfriend and I decided to put it in her name. Our goal was to get the paperwork done without having to come in because she is currently nursing our 1 week old son. Unfortunately, that did not work out that way, which is fine. My girlfriend and my son both came in and the whole staff (not just Jesse, Elliot and Adelina) frequently checked up on them and even offered a private room for them to nurse. This was incredible! Their generosity was impeccable.As for the car deal itself, from the jump Jesse and Elliot patiently worked with me to agree on a car and finances. Not once did they show signs of trying to benefit off me for their personal gain. The financing took a bit longer than expected, we were waiting for a while but once again Jesse came through to accommodate us for the wait with extra service and repair benefits.Oh and they were playing some 70s soul music on that Saturday. My dad and I definitely enjoyed that. Being the old soul that I am it got me in the car buying mood for sure! If youre looking for Mazda or even if you arent looking to buy or lease one, I highly suggest going to McGrath City Mazda and they will treat you like family.
First time coming to this dealership and It was a great experience. Jay (one of the workers in the service department) was more than helpful. I needed a new battery and there was none in stock at this location, so they drove to another location to pick up the battery and installed within an hour.

In both our stops (one casually looking and test-driving, the other with intent to purchase, which we did) we were very well taken care of by the McGrath staff. Delia, Efren, and Jesse were all friendly and knowledgable, allowing us to focus on what mattered rather than putting us in a stressful sales environment. We ended up with a Cx-30 that we love very much, at a fair price without needless back and forth. I also have to applaud the cleanliness and covid-related precautions that the team clearly took. Everyone kept their masks on, there was sanitizer everywhere, and all test drives were with newly-cleaned cars. Glad to do business with a dealership staffed by unpretentious folks that didnt demand we put up a front to get a good price.

Bought our car here in Aug 2020. Sales experience was way less than optimal but we were exhausted and went thru with it. Long story but generally - inexperienced sales person and hours of unnecessary drama including having us return to the sales floor days later (an hour from our home) to retrieve a 2nd key fob they couldn’t find at point of sale.Returned three times for “free” oil changes in the first year and the third one was not covered. We were quoted price at the desk but ultimately charged more than the quote. When we realized the mistake an hour later, we called to have it adjusted. Service desk left me on long hold and ultimately disconnected the call and didn’t call back. Presumably because they closed at 4pm and I was still on hold at that time. Imagine having a customer on the line in the middle of a transaction but then suddenly deciding it was time to clock out so you just disconnect the call.Called back several times to different extensions and got a runaround from sales — ultimately I was told the woman I just spoke with “doesn’t work here anymore” and “there are no women who work in service.” Oooo spooky. Ghost story vibes.I never bothered leaving a bad review after our initial purchase, but the endless aggravation when we interact with McGrath feels significant to share. Good luck to you!
Came in for warranty work. I was going to be late and they fit me in quickly. They checked my car out and even washed it afterwards for no charge. I was out in 1 1/2hrs. I stayed in the customer lounge but they offered a vehicle if needed while the work was being performed.
Had a few bumps in the way when I initially asked about repairs, but eventually the team went above and beyond to repair my vehicle and eased my concerns.

I recently stopped by to look at a vehicle after an accident. The staff was very inviting and (since I had called ahead) had everything ready for me upon arrival to test drive the car. This was followed by a lengthy process discussing pricing details, however the staff and product specialists were able to work with me to get payments into a more affordable tier. Once everything was settled, I was able to get all of the paperwork handled on site (removing any need to go to the DMV) and pick up my new car the following day. I went in for a simple oil change on my 2019 Mazda 3. I had an appointment at 1120 on September 21 2020 and did arrive 10 minutes late. Upon going to the front desk the guy informs me that my car has a recall...(probably the 5-6th one since I’ve owned this car) for a software update. I never received anything in the mail about it either. He tells me it should take 1.5 to 2 hours Max. I said okay because going off that I would still make it to work in time. They take my car in right away and fast forward it is now 2:25 and they are barely done. So it took close to 3 hours. Made me really late for work. Have I known it was somehow going to go over the time like it did I would have said no, and brought my car back another time. Then they try and quote me for changing some filters which is fine but I just wanted to get out of there at this point and leave, I can do those myself. I won’t be going back and will make a 45 minute drive to Mazda of Orland park from now on even though I live 10 minutes from this place. They also called me telling me to fill this out so here I am.

Mark,This review is full of falsehoods. You came in and we presented you with the first pencil at STRANDARD RATES with the additional rebate you get when you take it in lieu of special financing. Because we did not run your credit at that point, and did not know what you were eligible for, our system generated your offer at standard interest rates which is much higher than the special financing you used to calculate your payments on your own. This is why the payment was so much higher on THE FIRST PENCIL.Marks Reply; Matt, first I want to thank you for your reply. I cannot let this go without a response however.The car had .09% interest rate from Mazda and $1,000 cash back plus $750 in Mazda loyalty, I told Kevin that when we arrived and he pulled it up on Mazdas website to confirm, I told him at that time my wifes credit score was 788 and mine was 819.We do have an addendum on that specific car with additional accessories. We do break out the destination fee, and use base MSRP so you understand where the total price of the car is coming from.Marks Reply; The MSRP was listed at $32,430 and that price included a destination fee of $945 in the sticker price. The destination fee on the FIRST PENCIL was ADDED to the price of $32,430. When I questioned, Kevin said it must be a mistake and Efren when asked, said Im not sure!We printed out the Carfax appraisal for you to see where the price of your car is coming from based off the Chicago land area.Marks Reply; I based my numbers off of KBB, good condition in my zip code at $15,050. Efren said they over inflate and they use CarFax. I entered my license plate # in Carfax in Dntwn Chicago after leaving, using the zip code 60621, Chicago. Your Carfax report showed $12,700 was offered $12,000??After doing all of this, we printed out the first pencil and showed you where we were at. You said we were $5000 apart, which is A LOT. Efren, our floor manager, came out and spoke with you about your concerns and tried to see where the middle ground might be. What could he do to make a deal that I as the GM would accept, and you as the consumer would feel comfortable with? You said if we couldnt do $5000, you would not be interested in the purchase. We merely posed the question to you.... IF we could take off $1000, $2000, $3000... would that be something you would still be interested in. He doesnt control the numbers, I do, as well as my desk managers. He was merely asking what he could try and work out for you. You said we were too far apart and left before we could even negotiate, stating if we couldnt bridge the $5000 gap, you were leaving. I told Efren we were too far apart, and that I could work on certain things with you but could not bridge the $5000 gap you were demanding I close.Marks Reply; When shown the first pencil, I said we were too far off. I never demanded anything, I simply said we would not be able to bridge the gap. When offered $3000 by Efren and I declined, HE stopped the process, I shook his hand and walked out the door with your sales rep.Heres the facts:1. I recently bought a car here from Delia. She was very helpful and polite and was very knowledgeable about her product. Very great service! She took us on a test drive and was very nice and patient and knew how to keep the conversation going. She is very exultant about helping other people. Went in for my first oil change/general service appt. Everyone was incredibly friendly and they got me in and out in 45 minutes. I decided to bring my laptop to work and the lounge was stocked with snacks and beverages, everyone was socially distanced and it felt very safe. Great experience!
Just bought a car from here a few days ago and really enjoyed the experience. The sales representatives were very welcoming and the setting was comfortable. This review is about the pre-purchase experience I had the other day. I wanted to test-drive two used Mazdas, a 3 and a 6, both Grand Touring trims. When I called, the salesperson who answered the phone, Chris King, was polite, informative and not pushy in the least. He asked when I would be arriving so that he could get the cars pulled up in front and ready - and that they were when I arrived 30 minutes later, turned on and warmed up on a cold winter day, which was appreciated. I was able to test-drive the cars on my own without Chris coming along for the ride, and the process was extremely fluid, quick and easy - it took about 45 minutes for the two test-drives from my walking in to my walking out. I informed Chris that I was going to do some more test-driving of other brands and models and also some number crunching, and that I would be in touch. When he followed up the same evening and again the next day (voicemail), I informed him that I was calling off the search for a vehicle altogether due to my own changed circumstances - a disappointment he took in stride. I wish I could buy the sick Mazda 6 GT he had as it was absolutely cool and immaculate, but at the very least I had something else that is pretty great - an easy, open and refreshingly pleasant experience thanks to Chris. Next time I am looking at Mazda (which you should be), I will be sure to get in touch with Chris again.
For the first time I took my car for regular service And tire change to McGarth City Mazda. I was very happy with the whole experience. Everything run smoothly. I was provided with all necessary information and updated accordingly. Everyone was very kind and helpful. The service was efficient, and everything was handled well and professionally. I would like to mention that I appreciate a lot the shuttle service they provided with wonderful drivers that dropped me off and picked me up when my car was ready.
Yazmin was very helpful during the purchase of my new Mazda 6. She was able to get all my questions answered and did not put any pressure into us to make a sale. I would recommend asking for her when going there.

Very happy with our car buying experience at McGrath City Mazda! We worked with Elliot and Efron and got great service and all the information we needed to make the best decision for us. We had a few random things happen during our time there and the GM Brad made them right with no questions asked and made sure we were happy with everything before we left!

Came in to purchase 2 vehicles from this dealer. Sales guy was very difficult and adamant to lower the price. I wouldve thought buying two vehicles would warrant a better deal, but that didnt seem to be the case. Sales guy kept dissing on the fact that he didnt even know if he could finance the second car even while having good credit and good down payment. What you gonna do though?

The service department followed through on keeping me updated, ensuring I had a way home and back and made me feel important regardless of which model I had. A vast improvement from when I originally got the vehicle when it was Autobarn. They won me back. Customer service truly is as important as all others aspects of the business.
Overall, my visit went well. I got a coolant flush. My car seemed ok after the service. Of course, dealerships are pricey but, for this type of service I just paid the cost and I am satisfied so far.KEEP IN MIND--- CALL FOR A QUOTE FIRST AND GET THE PERSONS NAME YOU SPOKE WITH.I have been here a few times just for basic service. Staff has been pleasant. So far so good.
Would not recommend. We spoke with 15 different dealers in the Chicagoland area, and these were the only ones unwilling to provide an out-the-door price. We showed up anyway because they had a rare 2019 CPO we wanted to check out, only to have $3,000 in fees thrown on that vehicle. Looking at the same 2020 model, they tried to throw $3,600 in additional fees like some McGrath Advantage plan and even some BS destination fees (that are already included in the MSRP). Then they removed all of those fees, showed us their invoice price and got down to a sale price that every other dealership had already given us -- and acted as if they were doing us a favor. Theyll try to pull the wool over your eyes -- there are plenty of other straightforward dealers in the area that will be more upfront with you (we ended up at one of them instead -- and with a deal that was $700 less than what McGrath eventually got to during our visit).Response to owners note below: To be clear, the issue wasnt about negotiating on price. The issue was a refusal to provide an out-the-door quote beforehand and then tacking on outrageous fees (that nobody else charges) in order to start at a higher price point. It was all extremely shady. I understand each dealer has a threshold theyre not willing to cross. Thats their prerogative and thats totally fine. At the end of the day, its a commodity market and if supply far exceeds demand, someone is going to give in. But this was more about the intentional attempt to squeeze out additional fees from unsuspecting or less diligent buyers.
I had a fantastic experience this morning. It was quick and painless and solved my car troubles. Would definitely go back again
