I just purchased a property in Washington park and I called Ralph’s heating to service the 40 year old steam boiler. There prices are good and the service is second to none.I called them back a second time to add heat sensors on all levels and new thermostat that I can control from my phone, again they were cordial and on time, the tech was professional and helpful with setting it up on my phone.I highly recommend calling these guys, you will sleep good at night just knowing they are one phone call away. 4/18/2021:For years, this reputable heating/plumbing service center has provided top notch service for many citizens of the greater Chicagoland metropolitan area.My father was a longtime customer of its service facility on Chicago Southeast region.On April 7th, due to a loss of heat in the home of my childhood, I called the dispatcher for Ralphs customer service department to request an appointment for service for the following week. However, we requested an earlier date due to concerns for safety of the use of our heating system. Without hesitation, a service technician was sent immediately, and arrived within 15 minutes. The technician, a Mr. Justin B., performed a thorough inspection, cleaning, emissions tests, and, needed service, insisting on safety first during all stages of the visit!My father, Nathaniel Clark, Sr., passed away in 2018. We were So Very Pleased with the Services provided by Ralph’s.They Replaced our Central Air Conditioning and were knowledgeable about what type would best suit our needs. Their proposal about the cost was spot on. The technicians were on time, professional and very respectful. We have used Ralph’s in the past and will continue to so. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a competent company you can trust!

Theyll take $80 from you without telling you what the problem is for wall furnaces. They sent a guy that was most likely covid positive just to tell you he needs help. When in reality, you just needed your furnace fixed.
Called at 2 in the afternoon because my air handler motor was making odd noises. They were very pleasant on the phone when making arrangements. They called back to say they were on their way. A tech showed up in 20 minutes. Tech was knowledgeable and professional. The tech made a phone call to a peer to confirm his thoughts, which is great! The tech had the parts in his truck that were needed and completed the job. Two hours from start to finish. Great experience.
Matt come out and did a wonderful job performing maintenance on my boiler. He explained in detail what problem could occurr and gave me some solutions. The boiler is working great now and I give Matt and Ralphs Heating 2 thumbs-up and 5 stars !!! Thank you .
They first told me that they would come between 1-4 pm. They called me again to tell me that the technician would be able to come earlier then planned. The technician was very knowledgeable, kind and very helpful. He even helped me setup my nest. He explained to me everything he was doing. Even the price I was given was below the amount of work that the technician did for me. They are now my go to for any AC problems I have.Thank you for giving me back my AC.

Over the holiday weekend during the heat wave, my central air conditioning went out! They came by the day after the holiday and spent a long time to get it to work. It didnt, so purchase a new one. Great price, excellent service, on time and professional installation! I cannot say how happy I am, will use them for all my heating and cooling needs from now on!
They are crazy and there prices are outrageous. I called for a price on a heating unit and they tried to charge me double what ever other heating and contract was willing to charge me. Dont waist your time shop with other people

I never got around to using them. I thought a place that does service is available when you need, and they are....for a higher price. Most people work weekdays so I asked for a Saturday appointment. Sure, they are available, but that is considered overtime and I have to pay more. Even if I were home today they couldnt tell me what time theyd arrive. The expectaction is that you wait around all day until they arrive. Ummm...nope. If Im paying good money you sure as heck better be flexible with your schedule.Too many options out here. It is a shame because they are very responsive and polite when you call office. Kudos to the nice lady at the front desk. Perhaps they will read this review and see an opportunity to make change. Anyway, on to the next vendor.
Ralph’s has become a very dependable part of my stable of contractors. I’ve used them for my rental and my own home, and I’ve gotten consistent results. Will continue to use them!
GREAT! Fixed it instead of replacing it. 7000 bill avoided, 445 paid...do yourself a favor and get a Ralphs opinion! Another company, one with highest ratings, told me what was wrong and why I needed to replace not only furnace but A/C. But something seemed wrong to me. I think he just wasnt thinking thoroughly. Called Ralphs and they came quickly and saved me 6500, giving me an A/C coil cleaning for a fraction of the huge cost quoted by the other guys and fixing the other aspect (limit switch) that, after sorting through what the previous guys said, I suspected needed fixing. Time will tell whether it holds up but thats not under the technicians control--I could tell that he was thorough and he patiently and clearly explained everything to me so I knew his thinking was good and so I could make a good decision.
When my heater broke down I used Ralphs, as my Mother did when we had our family home. Big mistake. They sent an 80 year old guy who took 80 hours to fix the problem. And everyone knows they always charge by the hour. I would have been better off replacing the heater.
BEWARE: Just had my boiler serviced... the technician was here all of thirty minutes. He secured one wire and reset a trip switch for the price of $213.00... ARE YOU SERIOUS????? Had I wouldve known it wouldve cost so much, I wouldve did it myself for the price of eighty-nine dollars (the basic service call price)... the technician never told me what was wrong, just fixed the problem and then charged me the cost to fix an electrical problem. I called to make a complaint and to no avail of trying to rectify this outrageous price, the manager tells me this is how he pays his technician to come out...???? What was the eighty-nine dollars????? BAIT FOR THE CATCH... I GUESS.....After not having heat for approximately twenty-four hours, having paid the two hundred thirteen dollars to Ralphs Heating, going back and forward with the owner in regards to not having heat and being out of $213, the owner sent out his technician to rectify the heat situation, and compensate me for my suffering... I AM PLEASED TO SAY THAT I HAVE HEAT and I feel that the owner has honored my request for the job to be completed as expected.

They put in my wall air conditioning unit several years ago. This year it was not putting out cool air like it used to. I called and left a message they returned my call with 24 hrs as they said. Scheduled an appointment for next day. The gentleman called when he was on his way which was at the beginning of my appointment time. Luckily the unit only needed freon and ended up being less than I was quoted. I am now happily cold as the unit is kicking out air like it used to.

This company was referred to me by my neighbor. They were polite, explained the problem and fixed it. I also had a new thermostat installed and the gentleman helped me set it and explained it although my work schedule changed and was confused on changing some of the programming. When I called they the were more then happy to walk me through each step without hesitation. I love my new programmable thermostat. I turn my heat down during the day when I am gone and it starts to warm up right before I come home from work.

I moved into an older home that had been vacant in which the gas was shut off. This home had no Carbon Monoxide Detectors either. I Thank God every day that I called this company instead of just having the unit and gas turned back on. Upon inspection there was a crack in the heat exchange. I had no idea and I shudder at the thought of what could of happened to my son and I. The gentleman that serviced me was so thorough and explained everything and I felt like he truly cared. Ill never go without Carbon Monoxide Detectors. Ever! Thank you for putting up with all of my million and one questions and for caring! I then hired this company to service my units at my business and they have handled everything from my ceiling units, wall units and A/C units in a 10,000 sq ft building. I understand very little about these things and they have been incredible at teaching me how to help keep my units well cared for in between seasonal checks (I have a large kennel and training facility and their is lots of hair!) I have learned so much through them and couldnt be happier.
I was referred to Ralphs Heating and Air Conditioning by another service provider located far, far away in the suburbs. The service was excellent! From the customer service interaction, to the timely response, to the expert knowledge shared by the technician (Carl), to addressing the urgent need at a very reasonable price. Im now looking into their maintenance program and can be counted on to use their services and refer them to others.
