Capt. Darren is the best! He put us on fish and we had non-stop action - probably over 20 striped bass on the day. Super helpful and gave us a lot of guidance on technique. Highly recommend Monomoy Sportfishing and Capt. Darren - the striper hunter!

We booked Captain Darren twice during our stay on the Cape. He took us on a Great White shark tour which was absolutely amazing! We saw 7 whites including a 14 footer! I had my two boys (ages 7 & 10) and felt 100% safe. Captain Darren is very professional with safety being a top priority. With that being said he’s very down to earth, and amazing with kids!We also went on a fishing charter later in the week and had a blast! He’s amazing at what he does, and we were catching fish all morning!My boys haven’t stopped talking about these trips! It was the best money we spent on the Cape, these memories will last a lifetime!

Although Captain Darren and Monomoy Sportfishing may be better known for catching and spotting aquatic life, I highly recommend his more leisurely tour of Monomoy island. He took us out for my sisters birthday to cruise around with a cooler of beers and shared tons of fun facts about the history of Chatham and the surrounding islands. It was a highlight of our trip and definitely plan to go out with Capt. again next year!

This was an epic trip with sharks so close to the boat you could touch them!!! They were so close I could not use my camera with a zoom lens!!! Captain Darren was amazing, he had knowledge of sharks and the importance of their conservation! This was THE BEST TRIP EVER!!!! We loved it!!!!!!!❤❤❤

Epic. That is the only word that could come close to describing our experience with Capt. Darren. From launch to landing, my boys (12 & 20) and I had the best time we could have hoped for. Darren was friendly, professional, and super-cool. I mean, it helps that the weather and water were absolutely perfect, but from the time we reached the appointed spot we were pulling in serious poundage. We had two keepers right off the bat, and consistently exciting fishing all morning. To cap it all off, my 12-year-old son got a lifetime trophy fish on his first trip out on the ocean. Darren, bro, you spoiled the boy! Nothing will ever compare, but well be booking next year for another try for sure!

Capt. Darren is a class act and always delivers a fantastic time! This year’s charter did not disappoint, which was lovely for our friends who joined for the first time. Safety is always first for Darren, which I appreciate, but having a memorable charter and landing BIG fish happens consistently (with some good tunes along the way). This was my fifth time with Capt, and it will def not be my last...my only advice is to ask lots of questions, Darren is a wealth of knowledge! This is a must for those on the Cape, adults and kids alike; well worth the cost (and tip!) See you next year...

Our fishing trip with Capt. Darren was absolutely perfect. We had an amazing time, caught plenty of fish, and learned about the ecology of the area and the striped bass population. Highly recommend, and hope to do it again soon!

My dad, brother and I had an amazing day with Darren. Most importantly, of course, we caught a bunch of fish, including keepers for dinner. But beyond that, Darren is a great guy to spend the day fishing with -- knowledgeable and good company. We plan to call him again the next time were down the Cape!

Book Monomoy Sportfishing now! We fished the rips with Captain Darren on June 12, 2020 and had the most amazing experience! My sons are 7 and 9, and they love to fish. I have some experience, but not a ton, and my friend Abby was a first timer. Darren fully prepared us for the weather and made sure we understood what to expect and what to wear! He kept us updated on all the conditions in the days leading up to our trip and had excellent communication. He was awesome with the kids and explained a ton about fishing on the cape. He taught all of us a lot! But most of all, he is clearly a very experienced fisherman and helped us catch a ton of black sea bass and stripers. He made sure the kids felt confident with the rods, taught them awesome techniques, and made sure we had a great day. We were the only boat at our location and the boys were catching huge fish with EVERY cast!!! If a 7 and 9 year old can do this with Darren’s help and expertise, imagine what you can do! We couldn’t be happier with our choice and can’t wait to come back and fish with him again. I can’t imagine a better experience!

Went out with a group of 6 people, only 1 of us had experience deep sea fishing and we caught a total of 6 stripers. Captain Darren taught the rest of us how to fish in a quick and efficient manner, while constantly repositioning the boat to be right on top of the fish. My family and I had a wonderful experience with Captain Darren on a recent shark tour. He was very honest about the water quality after a storm that made visibility poor and let us know we may not be able to see anything. He gave us the opportunity to back out, but we did proceed and we were still able to see a shark thanks to his excellent communication with his spotter plane pilot George. Thanks again!

We had a great day with Captain Darren. Our group ranged in age from 8 to 77yo, and Darren was accommodating to all. We saw a ton of whales and had a great time catching striped bass. He did an amazing job coaching my son through his first big fish. Highly recommend - will be back next year!

Our family had a fantastic trip with Captain Darren! We took our 14 year old daughter and 10 year old son for their first saltwater fishing experience. Darren couldnt have made it any better. He knew right where to go to get live bait and then found some great spots to fish. Very patient, fun to hang out and visit with, and a memorable day all around. GREAT WHITE SHARK TOUR~From the moment you meet Captain Darren, you will quickly realize youre in very safe, professional hands. He is a master with a keen sense of the ecosystem of coastal Cape Cod. As if that wasnt enough to keep us occupied and enjoying the afternoon, we were there to see Great White Sharks in their natural habitat. Darren linked up with our pilot overhead, George, and brought us right into where the sharks were. This was a life bucket-list checkbox item for myself and my husband, but we need to do it again because it was exhilarating. We were safe the entire time, much safer than the swimmers who were quickly clearing the ocean based on our pinpoint location of the big shark who was casually moving up the coast...in the surf! We were so close to shore we could have had a conversation with a beachgoer. Amazing!At the end of the 2 hour tour, we saw 3 Great White Sharks, and beautiful coastal Cape Cod from the shoreline. What sets this tour apart is that you are not sharing it with 30 other people with phones competing to get photos and posting it on social media...and screaming while they do it!It is a peaceful, intimate experience: just you in nature, Captain Darren, the boat and of course the Great White Sharks! Thank you Captain Darren, you will see us again.

Awesome charter with Darren! He was great with the kids (7,7 & 9) and we caught a bunch of stripped bass and a few blue fish. Really appreciate Darrens recipe suggestions and explaining sustainable fishing practices he employes. With his guidance, we kept two stripes and one blue....and had two great dinners for our group of 8 and we didnt waste a thing. His the boat had plenty of speed to get us the the hot spots quickly, plenty of room for all to cast comfortably and the engine is amazingly quiet. 5 stars for Monomoy Sportfishing!

This was our second trip with Captain Darren. Awesome guy as usual, a real pro and a great coach for those who arent experienced. Lots of fun and some great fishing!

He knows Chathams tricky waterways like nobodys business and placed us squarely into the stripers and then a pod of dozens of humpback whales--all in the space of a 5 hour cruise. We had an amazing time with capt darren! he read the water and the weather very well, communicated clearly about what we should expect and what our options were for the day, and most importantly, coached and celebrated our kids (ages 9 and 6) as they reeled in huge stripers! it was a blast for all of us, yet also relaxing as we knew we were in good hands with capt darren. he also keeps the boat very clean and safe, which was an extra nice touch! we will absolutely see capt darren again on a future trip!
