New Beginnings Moving and Storage drove a rented U-Haul over our curb, over our sidewalk into the yard where they parked for the next 6 hours blocking the entire sidewalk. Our neighborhood has street parking directly in front of townhomes and there were 5 empty spaces they could have parked in but chose to drive and park in front yard blocking our sidewalk. All of this may have put them 20feet closer to the townhouse they were working to move. We told them not to park on yard but they ignored our request and parked there anyway. ThIs appears to be a very unprofessional moving company that I would never want to hire or have in my neighborhood.

The New Beginnings team Tony, Carl and Josh arrived on time, called in advance to let me know they were coming. Very professional in their process to pack, move and unpack. All of my belongings arrived at my new home in excellent condition !Good value, good price and good service.

I used NB Moving for a local move. I would highly recommend their team, they were quick efficient and lovely to work with.

We hired the New Beginnings team approximately 1.5 months before our move from a 3 bed/2.5bath. Amidst the many changes with our closing date and thereby move date, the team was always understanding and flexible to update the schedule. But even more impressive was how professional the team was in their care for our items (not one item broke, including my wife’s many glassware items), effectiveness in not damaging the old/new home (walls, etc), and remained positive throughout the move. We’ve already recommended them to a few people in our network and will continue to do so. My only regret is that we didn’t go with a 4-person team, as oppose to a 3-person team; we probably would have saved time and also paid less...Thank you very much and look forward to working with you in the future.

I scheduled the team to do a storage to apartment move. On the original scheduled date, I had to reset due to unforseen circumstances and they were able to accommodate us the next morning. The same team (Wesley, Larry, and Josh) arrived the next day and were extremely efficient. What was quoted at 4 hours only took 2 and I couldnt be more pleased with the service. The team was on time, friendly, and handled our items with great care. Wed 100% recommend them to our friends and family and also give them a call for our next moves.

I am a real estate professional and I had a client that recommended these guys about a year ago. They have helped several of my clients since and I have had wonderful feedback and that makes me happy. My elderly Mother hired them and they treated my Mother so kind and with respect. She was very stressed by the move and they calmed her by making sure her cherished belongings were taken care of. This is a superb moving company and they will take care of your valuables.

We used New Beginnings for our move across town. These guys were amazing. They showed up earlier than expected, worked hard and took very good care of personal belongings. I highly recommend them for the price and service.

When they got to my apartment they looked around and said they had changed their mind and didnt want to do the moving anymore because not everything was packed properly. As they helped they took their time and they did not have any pep in their step. My friend who was helping witnessed them picking up change off the floor and putting it in their pockets. They said initially that they would take credit or cash but at the end of the move said they would only take cash. I had to go to a cash machine to get them their money. When it was time to pay the head mover had lost the invoice. He said he must have packed it in the truck somewhere. 2 of the 3 movers kept hinting to me that they usually get a tip at the end of the move. When each one got a 20 at the end they seemed displeased.

I called New Beginnings and they immediately answered the phone + gave me an honest quote. I needed a company over Thanksgiving weekend, which I understand is difficult but these guys were amazing. Like, AMAZING. They even loaded items in and out of MY OWN trunk - like my great grandmother’s antique lamp and bowl that I was scared to even let out of my possession. They treated it as if it were their own. I was so exhausted from moving, I told them to just choose the best place to position my furniture, and they did. One guy said ‘I want her to wake up and look at how pretty she is everyday’ when he positioned my dresser. They even unscrewed my curtains when I didn’t have the right tools. I always use movers when I move. I spoke to Mike, the Owner about a week and a half ago to schedule my move. The movers arrived at my storage promptly this morning and began loading my items on the truck. I had 3 movers. I was exceptionally pleased when Larry, put a runner down so that they didnt stain the carpet while bringing my items in. They were careful with my items & wrapped my bedroom furniture up with their clithe to protect them. Im so thankful because my last moving experience was less desirable. Larry, Greg, & Wesley completed my move without complaints or excessive personal breaks. I moved our of a storage into a 2 bed/2bath apt. I was particularly pleased with the cinoany having their own box to transport loose items. I dont know why I have loose items when it seems that i have over 100 boxes!! All of the guys had a great sense of humor and made me feel totally comfortable. Of course it can be pricey when you contract movers but it feels great to know that I was able to support a Black Owned Business. The only thing that I disagreed with is that they did not hook up my washer & dryer for me. I guess its a liability or something like that. If and when i move again I will definitely use this company. PeriodTTT!!!!!!

We used New Beginnings when we were moving into our house almost 4 years ago. The other movers we had scheduled cancelled two days before our move and New Beginnings was able to swing a move for us with two days of notice. They got there 10 minutes early and finished the move 20 minutes early. Everything was nicely wrapped and put in its place in the new house. I 100% recommend them - we have never had a better moving experience and we have moved a lot!!

Besides some miscommunication the movers were great. They move quick and took good care of my furniture making sure to wrap it all before loading. Fun bunch of guys who seem to enjoy their job and working together. Second time using them and would do so again if needed.

My experience with this company was fantastic. The three guys who came and helped me move my girlfriend in were extremely professional, and did an amazing job. New Beginnings was the first moving company that I have ever hired, and will now be the only one. There is nothing negative to say about our experience. New Beginnings was very affordable and extremely professional. They truly made the moving process for us very easy from receiving the initial estimation to booking the move & then to the actual day of the move.We hired (2) men for the day - they ended up arriving 20 min early (which we appreciated so we could get an early start) and they didnt stop working till they left. They were on time, professional and wonderful. They picked up our new sectional couch (4 giant boxes and a rug) from Costco and delivered it to our house. They unwrapped the boxes, assembled the pieces and took all the trash. They were fabulous and we will definitely use them again!

We are not ones to give praise where it is not due but these guys - Brentwood, James and Steve - were terrific! On time, friendly, hard-working and so very careful of our belongings. READ THE FULL REVIEW:New Beginnings was referred to us by a family member and they did excellent work. They showed up on time, were very sociable, polite, and hard working. There were a few dings and scratches, but overall a very positive moving experience. The reason for the 3 star rating however, is based on how the pricing played out. It could have fallen anywhere in the realm of an honest oversight to a somewhat shady practice.We went the guaranteed rate route as we have heard from numerous other families that have moved how the time can add up quickly. The initial guaranteed rate that was quoted included no additional line items and I sent an email confirming this cost. A subsequent email added a $150 overnight storage fee that I did not notice (and which I believe should have been included in the guaranteed rate) until it was time for payment. To be fair, I should have caught this initially but in the chaos of the move and everyday life, I simply overlooked it.A few days after the move I reached out to Michael in hope that he would make the situation right. Hes a very polite and kind person so I hoped he would see the error in their ways. I explained the situation, my thoughts on how a guaranteed rate should be THE rate you pay, and provided the original e-mail in which there was no mention of an additional overnight storage fee. Unfortunately, Michael claimed that they did everything that they were supposed to do and offered no type of refund on the $150 fee.As I mentioned above, they did great work and normally I would recommend them to anyone and everyone, but the way this was handled left a very sour taste in my mouth. If you do decide to go with them, make sure theres a very clear understanding of the cost in writing and make sure when Michael goes through your home he records a very detailed account of what items they are expected to move or theres the possibility of additional fees if he doesnt record it properly. This was a small point of contention concerning items in a shed that we planned to move. Luckily reason won out in this situation and I wasnt charged more for items I had already told them would need to be moved. Good luck with your move!

Amazing!!!!The only word that my mom and I can think of when we remember our move from Charlotte, NC to New Jersey is Amazing. From the very beginning of our moving process when the owner of New Beginnings Mr. Michael Blair came to our home we immediately felt at ease and comfortable with him and his team moving our furniture. We discussed with him our concerns with relocating and the care of our belongings.Mr. Blair explained in thorough detail the process of what was included in our move and how our items would be wrapped and handled by his team of movers. After meeting Mr. Blair we decided to look no further and chose him and his team for our move in March 2018. We were especially overjoyed to find out that he is a man of faith which really made us at ease.On our move day, the men arrived and greeted us in a professional, warm and friendly manner and was ready to get to work. Mr. Blairs men were respectful, hard working and concerned about our furniture and about us and was quick to tell us to let them do all the heavy lifting and told us to rest which was a blessing to us after being exhausted after the move.The movers traveled from Charlotte to NJ when a NorEaster hit NJ and had to travel through very dangerous high winds which could have caused the truck to flip over as they got closer to New Jersey. In spite of the weather and the bridge in MD being closed, the movers arrived on the day promised and was just a little late which was a miracle! We thank God for Mr. Blair, Sharita who works in the office and the wonderful men who moved us, you will not make a mistake choosing Mr. Blair, he is a godly man with integrity who knows how to do business the right way.Thank you Mr. Blair, Sharita and the crew who moved us, God Bless you all! These guys were great. I had a dining room set to move that I purchased off of Craigslist. The New Beginnings moving crew was ready early and called me to verify that it was ok if they came early. They arrived, got to work, and packed everything very professionally. They spared no effort in wrapping each piece of furniture carefully.Upon arrival at my home, they quickly unpacked everything and set it up. They also had to take mutiple trips back to the place I was moving from, because the truck they arrived with was not cleared all the way.

I do not recommend using this company for your move due to my experience with them breaking my furniture and not providing a proper replacement as they agreed to.On 8/6/2018 New Beginnings movers arrived at my home to move a few pieces of furniture to an office location. The major items of the move included a love seat, microfridge, mini book shelf, and a corner desk. The men arrived on time and after I showed them the items, said it would be no problem and got to work.Everything seemed to go fine until we arrived at the office and I saw that my corner desk had been broken. I noticed during the move that it wasnt wrapped (service was supposed to include furniture wrapping) and it was simply carried out to the truck. But because it was a light piece I didnt think there would be a problem. This was not the case, as an entire desk leg had been snapped off. The first mover told me that the second mover, Maqil, had LEANED on the desk leg and broken it. When he asked me if the mover had told me hed broken it, I responded no, I didnt know until I saw it on the truck. When I asked him about it, Maqil admitted to breaking it by leaning on it and apologized.The company manager, Mike, was called and he claimed that the coverage for replacement was only 60 cents per pound. I argued that the furniture was light carbon board and that it barely weighed ten pounds, plus that it was only broken because of the movers negligence by actively leaning on it. The mover said hed replace the desk himself, and the company manager vouched for him. I gave the mover two inexpensive desk options that he could get for replacement and he agreed to get one of the two. I paid for my service DESPITE now being without a desk, and waited on my replacement which was said to come the next day.On Wednesday, 8/82018, the mover finally advised that he was dropping off the replacement desk at my office. I asked for a picture to confirm it was there. The image he sent showed a desk that was nothing like my original one. It was smaller and NOT a corner desk by any means, which was what we had agreed to. Instead the mover had gotten the cheapest desk replacement he could find ($20 instead of the already low $50 for the desk I asked for). When I responded that this was not the agreement, he stated he was providing the desk as a COURTESY, which was not the case. He was providing the desk because he irresponsibly broke the first one and AGREED to replace it properly.There was absolutely no reason this move had to include broken furniture. There were minimal items to move and much of what was moved was not especially heavy. The only reason an item was broken was due to extreme negligence. The simplest resolution would have been to properly replace the desk with one of similar design, but even that wasnt done. This has been a major inconvenience both personally and professionally, as I literally could not proceed with my office responsibilities without a desk, which I now have to buy myself.Again, I do NOT recommend using this company despite the affordable price and the other positive reviews. Their professional word cannot be trusted. The purpose of hiring movers is to safely get your items from one place to the other, and they failed in that one responsibility.

I used New Beginnings for my recent move from Charlotte to Philadelphia. Other companies said it would take over a week to deliver my things, but Mike said theyd deliver next day and they did! A crew of ~6 guys came to load up the truck and had it done in no time, they even helped unmount my flatscreen tv which turned out to be quite tricky. A piece of furniture was damaged in the move, but they handled it very well, telling me right away when they saw there was a problem and making it right financially immediately. This has been my best experience with a moving company for a long distance move. They were fast, professional, and good people.

Like the other review said Mike never returns calls when he says.This resulted in rescheduling my move dates and waiting for call backs.Unbelivable bad customer service!I looked at the BBB and there was only three employees listed.My conclushion was they must hire day laborers for the move.They did have better rates than other companies.I will spent the extra money for another Co.If somthing gets damaged I dont trust this Mike to make it right.

They were incredibly fast and very kind.

Had a great experience with our move yesterday. Jarvis, Steve and Larry were a great group of guys who worked really hard while also providing a laugh here and there. They were super careful with our furniture and our home. Even though the move went pretty late into the night and you could tell they were getting tired they still were super careful and professional. Have moved a few times and this by far was my best experience. Will be moving our stuff from storage to our new house in a couple of month and look forward to working with this company again.
