Smaller gym with great variety of workout equipment. Covid friendly measures are in place to assure a safe and sterile exercising environment.

I been a member PF for around 15 years. This location at University area is one of the cleanest and well kept location. Yes it can use an update. But Ive seen the improvement Ryan the manager has made specially with their super friendly staff. Great job keep it up!

Planet fitness will allow you to sign up remotely but require you to come in to cancel. They are just trying to make it difficult for you to cancel so they can get extra money from you. Furthermore, they make you cancel a week before the payment comes out of your account. If you cancel within that time frame they still charge your account!I recommend going to a gym that doesnt try and finesse their customers into giving extra money.

I love that PF is affordable and convenient. One of my favorite things is being a Black card member and being able to go to multiple locations. Honestly the PF University location feels crowded and not as clean as I would hope for.

I love it here! It’s clean. Never too busy and the atmosphere is great.

Have no idea how this has such a high ratingsNo AC, place hasn’t been renovated like it should have been in the last couple of years. Machines seem newish, men’s locker room way way to big for how small the showers are, but again hasn’t been renovated like the rest of the country has. (Have personally been to over 30 PFs in 2021 while traveling). Going to another PF in Charlotte. Hopefully the next isn’t owned by the same person. If they haven’t renovated this one likely the rest aren’t either.

The University gym has had an uplift since I last visited years ago. Working out there is much more enjoyable and productive.

Today was my first day at this location....and probably my last. The equipment is kind of old and the layout is off. Plus, while using the weight lifting machine another patron yelled at me because I set the weights down too hard. It was my first time using that machine and it was an accident. I didn’t deserve to be talked to in that manner. I thought planet fitness was supposed to be a place where everyone felt welcomed. I was already feeling nervous and intimidated going to the gym. Today was my worst experience at Planet Fitness. Never again. 👎🏾

I really like this location. I moved to this area about a year ago, and have enjoyed using this location since opening back up. The staff is helpful and nice, and they did a great job with cleanliness during the pandemic.

My visit there prior was met with a rejection with a black card. This year, I was accepted but the staff was 50/50 on being enthusiastic on greetings or small conversations. Ill find another place

Love Planet Fitness and the 24/5 schedule is why. Theres nothing more refreshing than knowing after work your day is truly done because you got your workout in before sunrise. And not to be overlooked, the staffing and cleanliness are great too!

The staff at this location are super chill. The gym stays clean and I have always been able to get in a good work out, even at peak hours. I’d recommend this planet fitness to anyone. 👍

Of the planet fitness locations Ive been to, this is the worst one. The fitness equipment isnt taken care of, the layout is disorganized, and the staff doesnt seem to care, but also the tanning beds. Can you even call them that? They look like death traps and are very outdated. I dont trust them and they were the tipping point of changing my main gym. Is it the closest one for university students? Yes. Is it worth driving over to the Concord location for a better use of your membership money? Absolutely.

The black card amenities are good and people clean their stations after use, although the gym can be a little full at times.

No mask or social distance on Cardo machines. The only Planet fitness in Charlotte without social distance in between Cardo machines. Be careful. Go when not crowded. Covid cases are going up

One of my favorite PFs! (& Ive visited A LOT of them in the USA) its smaller than most but everything you need is there & I like that they have the machines that keep count for you. I had a lil membership issue where a gym in a different state was giving me a hard time, so we called this location & they were fast, friendly, & competent with getting it sorted out for me. Good place, good ppl, slide thru sometime :)

I’ve only had my membership for not even a month, but when I first walked in I was not given a tour even though I have a black card, and would like to be shown around the gym and spa. I have anxiety in the gym, so now I am scared to do anything besides the treadmill because I don’t know where it is. The gym is very clean, but I noticed some of the weight machines seemed to be broke when I was there the other week. Last thing is they are still requiring masks even though the governor lifted it. 3 stars because it’s still a very nice gym for a good cost.

The value of the Planet Fitness gyms exceeds any local gym or gym chains. I would definitely recommend Planet Fitness to a friend for the value and quality.I do have one complaint of a change that was made about 2 years ago. There used to be several rolls of paper at the cleaning stations with the cleaner spray bottles. Moving to the towel dispensers cleans up the look, but makes the stations more of a bottle neck because only one person can get towels at a time, the dispensers are slower than pulling paper from a roll, the dispensers become nearly unusable and there not replaced and when they are empty, theres no backup roll and the attendants dont have a visual to know that the dispenser is empty. Since the rolls run out before theyre replaced, its a guarantee that customers will go to a station and not be able to get paper towels at the end of every roll.A possible fix would be to put 2 towels dispensers back to back with sensors in them to indicate to the staff when a roll is empty. This would double the maximum dispensing rate at each station and make is much less likely that a station will be without dispensersAnother fix would be to go back to the way it was before and get rid of the dispensers and put multiple rolls at each station.

Miles at the PF on University in Charlotte NC is Phenomenal. His customer service skills are elite and your company should be honored to have him as partner. He is an Outstanding person and a down to earth individual that went above and beyond answering the questions I had about my membership moving forward. I havent really been to this location in a couple years, due to the over crowding and cleanliness of the facility. Recently, I have been in there and Im impressed! The new machines are great and they have added more machines, which cuts down on the wait time and they even changed the layout. I will be coming back to my home gym way more often!

Safe! They are great about social distancing. Everyone wears their mask and very considerate of each others space. But Some of the customers dont wipe machines down so you have to be watchful and clean before and after. Some sit and wait for you to clean then use the machine but they still dont clean after themselves.

Place was great. No broken machines. Well lit. Very comfortable environment. Although i would love to continue to come to this planet fitness. I live closer to freedom dr. Location. If Im in the area again. I will return

Great staff... Variety of equipment

Clean and employees are friendly. Constantly disinfecting equipment and training sessions are still available. Great help in getting my fitness on track.

This place is so trash I came in with my brother and they had such a horrible attitude do not recommend anyone to come here this place is so bad and horrible communication.

Very clean and on my every visit, social distancing has been practiced. Locker room very clean. Sanitizing stations throughout, machines in great conditions. I was extremely hesitant in joining a gym during these times but this location and staff have put me at ease. Hope all who visit this location help maintain the great work the staff has done at keeping it clean and safe for us all to enjoy our workouts

Its a great gym. Someone like me who is very insecure around people who work out a lot(think everyone is) I can easily feel like Im in my own world here.

This is my home gym and they are always AWESOME

I just walked out and wont come back! I came in.I wasnt greeted by either of the two reps. I just stood there waiting. I walked over to the desk. Not a Hello or Smile! I said Im interested in getting a new membership. Someone else walks in.. She just points her finger and tells me move over there rudely.. so that a member can stand where I was. Didnt say I will be right with you nothing! The member just came in to update their phone number. I see gaining a new member wasnt as important? Guess I will go see if Im welcomed at Fitness Connection down the street.

New to gym overall easy transition with exception to guess visit. Paperwork states guest will get bar code however once inside my guest had to present id and provide number. Second visit and issue has not been fixed so my guest apparently will need id and number each time

I workout here regularly. So far I love it. Front desk staff are friendly and will help you with whatever issues you have. I just wish theyd go back to being open 24/7 pre covid 19.

Ive been a member for 5+ years, I like the new machines and the spaciousness the only bad thing I can say about is the music, nothing but adolescent love songs. Planet fitness elsewhere plays the good stuff, rock and hip hop etc.

This gym is very clean. It has a great variety of workout equipment to use.

The company refuses to cease charging my bank account despite my ex having canceled their membership multiple times in person and via phone. Disputing charges does not work as they continue make charges against my accounts.

Dirty gym over run by colleges kids and managed by kids who dont clean or enforce the rules.

I went to this location for the first time because I just moved to the area. The staff wasn’t friendly when I walked in and didn’t even greet me. I told them it was my first time there and I wasn’t given a tour. I asked to tan and wasn’t shown where it was. The tanning bed itself was disgusting and not hot at all. Bulbs were too weak and old. I then asked where the locker room was so I could wash my hands. I didn’t feel welcomed at all. Definitely won’t be going back.

I enjoyed coming in this location. The staff members who works at night times are awesome very funny guys.

Equipment is good, and atmosphere is nice. Little busier location I think that is due to being close to the college. Sometimes a wait to use machines but not usually long people seem to be conscious of not holding up machines. Tanning beds arent cleaned by staff regularly, or wiped down by customers after use. I always have to clean before I get in, you can see hand prints and sweat marks and I always clean after I get out. No scales in bathrooms which I feel there should be. Staff can sometimes leave you waiting for their attention but for the most part are pretty attentive and polite.

I like the friendly staff and that nobody messes with you while you’re working out. I have an appointment to design my own workout later today and I’m so excited about what the trainer will come up with. The machines and workout equipment are in very good shape.

Rude and unprofessional young staff who are always on their phones. I was told by one of the teammates I owe $10 in front of a friend not a big deal but (it not what you say, it is how you say it) the golden rule. I offered to pay the money but she didn’t allow me to pay. I asked why are you telling me then in front of other guests. I talked to management staff about how embarrassing this was to me, a teammate telling me I owed fees in front of a guest. She don’t care either. I canceled my membership. Planet Fitness out of touch like they work for Donald Trump.

Have been going for about 8 weeks now. The main reason I selected Planet Fitness was because they offer the 30 minute workout, which is great for beginners like me. Trouble is, its more like 40 a minute workout as you have to spend 10 minutes complaining to the staff to have someone monitor those that use the machines and dont move on.I did complain that they do not monitor the equipment and was told they only have two people up front and time for only one of them to walk around every 30 minutes. Really?! How about hiring more staff then if you dont have the time to monitor the equipment more regularly (which is what your posted signs say you do).Seriously thinking about trying another gym as I go to the gym to workout not to have to stop and complain to the staff every 10 minutes. I dont really have the time.

For months now the Service and Cleanliness has been great. The last couple of years YUCK!!! Anyway... New staff etc... yay. Something about when some of the old staff is working just brings back the laziness and nastiness.Friday Morning... yapping young lady at the front... (employee from the last couple of years I think... definitely not learning from what the new staff is doing)So... paper towel rolls empty at the first 2 stations and cleaning solutions almost empty...then toilet tissue empty in 3 stalls and blood on the seat and floor of the larger bathroom... yet you can talk personal business... but she totally useless so Im not shocked... but all this at 8 am???? Oh and I left a bit after 9:30 and it was still there.

Gets the job done. Normally crowded between 330pm-715pm(ish). Spacious. Everyone respects the others space. Friendly staff; several on the floor trainers throughout the shift. Staff quickly build rapport. Diversity. 24hr facility. 7 days a week. Cheap membership even with a recent price hike. Black Card $21. They also have a $10, $15 (no contract option) l. Not every option allows you to bring a guess to workout with for motivation. The staff can be strict at times. Despite what some say, you can still get Bigger, Stronger, and Faster!

Needs more area for free weights.

I like the gym and everything its close to my work and home very convenient for me, however today i was working out at the 30 minutes zone (all by self) when i saw one the staff and i said hi she said hi back also started telling me about how that area is only to work with red and green light i said i know how it works but i had knee surgery and im doing physical therapy and the leg press in this area is the best one for me to do my exercises. when there’s other people i move and let them use the leg press she then told that i had to use the other areas for my physical therapy work outs i said I understand but unfortunately i like these leg press better. At the end she told me that if i need physical therapy i had to go to a place for that not at the gym.( When my PT was the one who told me to go to the gym) she was very rude. I understand the 30 minutes work out I tried to do all the exercises but i try to focus more on my legs because of my knee surgery. Plus Majority of the people does not do the 30 minutes unless they are with the trainers

This is awesome place for workout and staff is very friendly and accommodating. They also have very good deals going on year around and most of the time u can join with less than 10 bucks down and 10 for month. They do have separate section for 30 min high intensity workout.

Highly dissatisfied with this location. The employees are lazy and don’t want to help clean out the tanning beds when they clearly haven’t been cleaned properly all week. And when you let them know they just say ok and go sit back down to get on their phones.The front desk employees don’t listen when you call in with a problem and talk over you. I’ve been twice to this location and I’m cancelling my membership.I really enjoyed the location in Fort Oglethorpe Georgia and wish they could be as nice and clean as them.

I enjoy going to this location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The equipment is cleaned and well maintained.

Very much enjoy this location, than the other local ones. Enjoy the equipment options and they have more than one. Keeps from having to wait. The overnight/early morning staff are great. Plenty of parking. Clean and well lit. Have to go out the way to get to it, but worth it to me. Hoping this post dont bring too many people amd keep me from working out.

Its a great place to work out, at a great price however, the 1 thing I would change about all of the franchises is that they replace tanning with 2 steam rooms for black card members...the massage beds are great, but very few people tan anymore if they have any sense and steam rooms are healthier as long as they are maintained and kept clean. No difference in heat exposure risk

Clean, well-maintained location. Some recent updates made over the last year or two. Staff is pleasant and those that help you develop your own personal workout plan are especially helpful and knowledgeable. Very positive experience every time.

The place is well maintained, clean, and the attendants are friendly and attentive. Some evenings there are too many people tying up weight machines on their phones to get a good workout so I come here before work and mostly avoid this issue. Otherwise, this is a good place to workout for a great price.

This location does not have the big ceiling fans. So if you like to sweat this is your place. All of the other PFs Ive been to have the big ceiling fans and are much more likeable b/c of it.Attn owners: please add some ceiling fans TY. Otherwise you have a 5 star here.

Danielle helped us soooo quick we were literally in and out, plus she had conversations with us while getting us through our questions. Danielle was such a sweetheart! our home club told us wrong information and she helped us transfer our home gym over to this one just to cancel. she went out of our way to help us and has great customer service ! definitely ask for her when you come !

Gym is always clean and employees are always friendly. I just recently had to close my bank account and forgot that my automatic drafts for PF was taken from this account. I got a notification asking me to update my payment and went down to the location to do so. Upon arriving, I was charged a late fee of $10. I was unaware of late fees and asked the employee/assistant manager if they could waive it as a courtesy since I was unaware. They were not able to do so at the desk, but they gave us an e-mail to reach out to. Within 24 hours of reaching out, the GM of the location had waived the fee for me. Awesome customer service, thank you!!

Great place to work out. A real deal for the money you pay. Its clean and the equipment is nice.

Great Planet Fitness location! Was a member for years before I stopped going to the gym for personal reasons. This facility was always clean and the paper towels always full. Staff was very friendly and they were always packed. Being 247 allowed me to go whenever I wanted. I never really had to wait long to use a machine even during peak hours. For the price you cant beat it. And you get unlimited tanning with the black card.

I have been going here for years. They have new equipment now and the equipment is nice. I would recommend Planet Fitness to anybody looking to get a nice workout.

Its so fun and clean

It was not as clean as the other gyms in the area.

I love this gym. As a woman I was intimidated by weight training but they have a personal fitness instructor on site that is willing to coach you. I try to be considerate of those around and follow the simple rules of wiping my equipment with the material the gym provides. It is a basic gym and not as nice as the other newer planet fitness but the helpfulness and motivating atmosphere makes up for it! Ive been going 2 months now and this is the longest Ive stuck to working out. Ive been to a lot of gyms but I love this one best. Its the people that make the difference.
