This facility is very clean and the staff is informative and friendly. My son attends the childrens classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and occasionally on Wednesdays. The instructors are attentive to the children. Guto and his team are very patient and knowledgeable. Weve been attending the childrens classes for a little over a month and have noticed MAJOR progress in our sons attention span, listening skills and overall confidence. I definitely recommend this gym for adults and children.

One of the absolute best places in Charlotte to train Muay Thai, there is no other gym like this one, and Ive trained at a bunch. Whether youre a beginner or highly advanced in Muay Thai you will find immense benefit in training here.I love training here, you feel like family as soon as you walk-in. The teachers and your teammates will push you and make you better then you thought you could be. The owner, Kru James, really knows his stuff and Im so proud to train under him. The BJJ program and Kickboxing classes are awesome also! ECF is a great place to train and become well-rounded in self-defense and fitness.🥊

AMAZING gym. As a former D1 athlete, I have been through countless gyms, training programs, and coaches. ECF has A++ coaching and an environment anyone can feel comfortable in. The gym feels just small enough to get a bunch of personalized coaching, but also have enough partners to test your skills. I’m moving out of the area, but I credit ECF with starting my love for Muay Thai. Be sure to stop by!!

I was visiting Charlotte for work this week and was looking for a place to train when I stumbled into ECF on google. The gym is great, clean and big. The Kru was nice, very knowledgeable and crafty. The atmosphere was very welcoming and all the students were nice. I highly recommend this gym to anyone living in the Charlotte area and any visitors looking for a place to get some work.I only trained there for 4 days but will most definitely come back if I am in the area.

Was recently able to try out a couple of the BJJ classes. Had a great experience, Guto (the black belt instructor) is super laid back and easy going. Whether youre someone wanting to try it out for the first time or an experienced upper belt I would highly recommend coming in to check out ECF.

If I could leave half a star, I would. Ive gotten better customer service at a Dennys. The gym was great when I was first joined but under the new management, I felt like I was dealing with El-Diablo when it came to billing. It went from a Martial Arts gym to a Planet Fitness clone. Even though I trained here for a year, they started patting me down every visit for no reason. I mean, how does it make sense that one of the trainers looks like shes never gone on a jog? Furthermore, when I cancelled my contract they refunded me the wrong amount and I had to go see El-Diablo to pick up a check. This place has zero respect for their clients and Id advised anyone who is serious about training to look elsewhere. Oh and the kids room is literally a corner in a room, Ive literally seen concentration camps that looked better than that mess.

Incredible gym all around! Every bag, functional equipment, ring, etc that you would need. I was passing through for two weeks and they treated me like I have been a member for years. Kru gave me two private lessons and gave me more than I have learned in last 6 months. Kru offered up the gym for a solo workout whenever I wanted. Solid establishment.

This is an excellent gym. The facility is great, and the teaching is the best around. You will not find a more experienced and knowledgeable instructor than Kru Armlin. He is also humble, patient, and passionate about teaching the art he loves. Look no further for the best Muay Thai school around, you just found it

I have known and trained with Kru Armlin in the United States and Thailand since the early 2000’s. We trained and stayed in Thailand together. While there we trained with World Champion fighters like Yodsenklai Fairtex, Kem Fairtex, Anuwat Kaewsamrit, Vut Kamnark, Andy Peck and multiple other Champions from Thailand, New Zealand, Europe, Australia and throughout the world. From Bangkok, to Chang Mai to Pattya, one consistent theme throughout the training was the amazement from the Thai’s that Kru Armlin kicked and fought like a Thai. I am a witness to Kru Armlin and his love for the Thai culture and his knowledge of authentic Muay Thai. Very few teachers are able to fight, teach and represent the real Art of Muay Thai……Kru Armlin is one of them.

Ive been doing Muay Thai here for about a year and I just started doing BJJ maybe a month ago. The gym recently became a Brazilian Top Team location, which means that the gym is top of the line. Kru James is awesome and really has a passion for passing on Muay Thai to his students. Professor Guto is an amazing coach and has had so much patience with me. He has amazing skills and truly lives the BJJ lifestyle. Anyone of any background is welcome here and youll have a great time learning real, authentic martial arts.

I trained at this gym for about a year. The BJJ was amazing, and then I was told BJJ was gone. This was with 1 day notice. It was the week of a huge tournament in Atlanta. If you train for fitness or martial arts, you know how it becomes a part of your life. Taking away a program with a 1 day notice is unacceptable and unprofessional. I could never recommend a place that would do that to their students. I know the BJJ and gym were separate programs, but ECF was taking my money every month. So I was paying them. They should have had more common decency than to kick all of these people out the week of a tournament with a 1 day notice.

Overall remarkable Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training. A fantastic and clean facility with everything needed to advance in Combat Sports. The coaches are very welcoming and knowledgeable and the training is truely top notch. That said it is very pricey and not really a great price for those who dont have a good amount of stable income. The location is great and easily accessible and the kids classes are very solid as well.

While on a recent vacation, I was able to take a muay thai class at ECF. If I lived in Charlotte, this would be the gym that I train at everyday. No need to try any others. The Kru was very skilled and knowledgeable. Great at explaining techniques and combos. The students were also very welcoming and respectful. Ive been training for a few years now and was able to learn new things just from this one visit. Awesome place. Highly recommend for people of all levels to try out. Shout out to Kru and Skip for the hospitality.

Have been involved in Martial Art over 20 years, and while living in Charlotte found East Coast Fighter. I spent 4 of the best years training here building friendships that last the test of time. You will not find a more honorable or devoted Instructor to this traditional martial art Muay Thai and the studets than Kru Armlin. I recommend to anyone looking for a home school as ECF has so much to offer. God Speed and Chok Dee Nak Muay Kru Armlin

East Coast Fighter is a strangeGymThe instructor for the jiu jitsu is a short racist who is intimidated by black men.I noticed none of the fighters in the gym that do jiu hits are black and I saw why. When I first met the Jiu jitsu instructor it wasaround 7 o clock. I realized it was late so I wanted to watch the practice.I told him that muay thai was my back ground and that I had no experience in jiu jitsu and I was interested in learning. He told me that was okay and that I could still train. He also told me that the class they were about to start was a faster class.Me being new and not having any knowledge of jiu jitsu I didnt want to look like a scrub.I tried my best to quickly analyze the movements of others and perform at a high level. The instructor saw how fast I was catching on and immediately got jealous so hed challenge me and Id role with him then hed send me back into the groups. He put me against some advanced grapplers all purple belt or higher then after that.He pulled me to the side and said that Im too aggressive and that if I continued hed only allow me to role with him all night until I wanted to quit.I didnt understand why though, from the beginning of the class he told me that this class was going to be fast paste. The entire time I moved much faster then most of the guys in his gym and I was much stronger and smarter. The last session I remember doing.I was in a group with a few beginners like myself and a few advanced guys.I went toe to toe with another wrestler like myself. I took him to the ground with easeand he tried to put me in a triangle.I reversed then put him in a leg lock and thats when the instructor called time then he called me out to go against him.He put me in a rear naked choke I immediately tapped but he held it.So thats what pissed me off and I kept rolling instead of quitting so he got mad because he couldnt make me quit so he kicked me out of the gym.
