Came to Charlotte for the weekend and heard about this place through google so I tried it out and the establishment was everything that I needed it to be. Friendly barbers and most of all, my cut was great! Only problem was that they opened about an hour late, but I didnt have anywhere to be. I would definitely recommend Upper Cutt Barber Shop to anyone looking for a good cut.

Completely did not know the basics of haircutting. I walked in and requested a regular cut and explicitly told the barber to cut short on the sides and back, and leave the top longer. The guy, without asking how long I wanted my hair, ran the clipper straight through the middle of my scalp. There was no time for me to react and object. It was too late. Normally, a barber should start clipping at the back of the head out the sides, which would allow for corrections as necessary. A cut through the middle made it impossible to correct. I ended up with an almost bald head. Complete laziness and lack of basic fundamentals of haircutting!

Awesome environment, clean friendly barbers. They are tops in the city. Some barbers work on Sunday. OMG!

They are conviently open 7 days a week, so I went for the 1st time when all other shops were closed. Customer service was good, and my barber was nice, BUT he nicked the back of my head and asked if the bald spot has been there...... no.. no sir it hasn’t. The dye they used to cover it up washed right out when I washed my hair later that day. He also pushed my hairline back super far, and the line up was uneven.! Hair cut took maybe 45 minutes, and I initially chalked it up to the fact that I was a new customer so he wanted to make sure he got it right; but It just wasn’t good. Haircut was $15 and when I got home to actually look at it in depth, I felt robbed.

My husband waited way over an hour for a barber and the barber left! He didnt even get serviced!!!! Right as we walked in the the owner asked was there a certain barber we wanted to wait on, my husband said Goat. We ended up sitting in a couple chairs right in front of the owner. The owner, who is directing customers to sit in the barber’s chairs, looks at us several times. He knows that we’re waiting and who we’re waiting for. First, he skips over my husband. Ok, mistakes happen we wait again. Once Goat is done with that customer, he starts taking his vest off. My husband walks up and he tells him he’s done for the day and proceeded to pack his stuff and go home! Now the owner is there for all of this and hasn’t SAID ONE WORD!!!!! He even told Goat bye and everything, even looked at my extremely pissed off face, still nothing. So my husband tells him that he knew he was waiting for Goat and now he’s gone so how much longer would he have to wait for a haircut? The owner doesn’t even try to apologize, there was no remorse, just a nonchalant “You have one more person ahead of you”. This is just not how you do business!

The worst barbershop supposly they open from 9am till 8 we got there at 9:10 am and they were still closed and once they open the door they were taking their sweet time do what they had to do my husband asked if they were going to open soon and the guy said yes with an attitude then my husband walked in and they still didnt even ask him if he was gonna cut or nothing they all were sitting around on business hours so we left and came to another barbershop by the way even after we left they still had the open sign off. Remember not to go there is bad service

Upper cuts shop is unreal. I visited this place because its closer to home. The pricing list read 12 dollars for cuts. Not price list for little boys. However i was charged 15 dollars! For a six year old! I paid with a 20 dollar bill and told the barber to keep 2 dollars for tip. The barber hands me only 2 dollars and claims he had no more change. This was the worst experience Ive ever had at a barber shop! 15 dollars for a cut?? Plus a 3 dollar tip?! Ridiculous!

This shop is amazing Ive know the owner for about 10 years they have a great crew. Yes they may charge 15 for a cut but its worth it for what you get a high quality cut

Ive brought my son here on 3 different occasions and he has been charged 3 different prices for the same haircut by the same person. Very inconsistent with the prices and the haircut wasnt that great. Im very disappointed. We will not be going back.

My family and I recently relocated to Charlotte and I tryed a couple of Barbershops. One thing I look at closely when I walk into a shop is people skills! I was very impressed when I walked into Upper Cuts. I was acknowledged the moment I walked in the door. I bought my son inside and we were both in a chair within minutes. Kanye did exactly what I asked and Im picky as hell when it comes to my haircut. Great job bro my son and I found our new Barber!! Hot clean towel, straight razor on my face perfect with no niks.. Not sure about the other reviews on here, but Its impressive to me when you can walk into a shop with a cool vibe, no drama and get into chair within minutes on a Saturday with 10 people there. Also the price for everything was only $15 Keep doing your thing brothers. Thank you for great service...

They keep pushing my hairline way back for no reason, got me out here looking like Im George Jefferson. I asked them for a fade, with the bottom part lightly bald and moving up should be just darker they just cut it all off, i even showed them a picture 3 times beforehand and still cant get it right.

This used to be my go-to shop when I first moved to Charlotte until I found a place across town that really took care of me. Theyre cheap for sure, but you get what you pay for. This review is more so about the barber than anything but the shop as well. I walked in the door to between four and six barbers all on their cell phones. Which is fine. They had only one client at the time. I began to sit down when another barber walked in presumably on lunch who asked me if I was waiting on someone. I replied, no. Anyone can cut. Trusting that the barbers wouldnt have a chair if they couldnt cut. At this point all the barbers recognized that I needed a cut but all of them got back into their phones. The barber on lunch exclaims So none of yall trying to get this money? and one guy gets off his phone and decided to cut my hair. He asked what I wanted and I stated that I wanted a low cut, faded on the back and sides. He says cool and gets started, but not before he got back in his phone and texted or whatever for about two minutes. He proceeds to cut my hair while stopping every minute or two for two minute increments to use his phone. No apology. No tactfulness. No respect for the fact that I was going to pay him for his service. After about 14 minutes worth of texting and about 15 of him actually cutting, he pulls out the mirror to see if Im satisfied. I wasnt. Note that I came in with long hair and requested a low cut with a fade. I still had an Afro basically but now it was very unevenly rounded and the fade was mediocre. Just to mention, Ive never had a barber cut my hair horizontally (side to side) to create the fade effect. I then show him a picture of my head done correctly by the shop across town. He starts again, still texting. About 15 minutes later he pulls out the mirror again to show me that he still didnt know what he was doing. I now had an uneven low cut. No fade at all and an uneven shape up. I got up, paid him and left. Its a shame that I had to go home, grab my clippers and finish his job for him because he clearly didnt know how to cut. Not only did I have to do the fade myself, but I also had to shape myself up, even the cut out and clean up any other messes he made. By far the worst most uncomfortable shop experience ever. Never coming back. I only came that day because I just moved further away from my barber and didnt want to drive 40 minutes for a cut. Id been when I first moved to Charlotte but I stopped going because of a very similar incident about four years ago. Ill never recommend this shop.
