I wish I had know about this place 2015 when I moved into the area, instead of bouncing around to 3 other places. This would have been my 1 and done. Good cuts so far (Ive been 4 times), friendly staff. Several are very experienced with 10+ years of hair care. Prices are very reasonable. I plan to continue to use their services for the foreseeable future.

Walked in, waited for a minute and got a great haircut, hot towel and a scalp massage that I’m still trying to wake up from. Overall first class service, wanted to give a shout out to the lady who cut my hair but never got her name.Apparently you can only review a place once, but I just wanted to confirm this place and Ashley is awesome, got her name right this time. Guys should go for the full package, her hands are magical. Thanks again for a great experience.

I use to love coming to this place for a hair cut until today. I will never go back again. I was five mins late to an appointment due to bad weather it was storming out. I’m pretty sure they have a grace period too. Anyways when I arrive the shop was empty with two ladies cutting hair. There was one gentlemen getting his hair cut. Other than that there was absolutely no body in the shop. I went to check in and the lady who was going to cut my hair refused. She said “I dont think I can do a cut in 20 mins….. I have another appointment coming in at twelve.” I laughed and said you’re joking right? I just need a trim should only take 10-15 mins… she said I could come back later. Then I said well I’ll just wait. She responded with “yeah….. we are all booked up til 2pm sorry….” My appointment was at 11:30. I’ve never experienced someone turning away Business so easily. It was pure laziness on her part… if I was her boss and saw this I would have fired her on the spot. I’ve been coming here for probably 3-4 years now and was going to continue but not after that. I will never recommend or return to this shop ever again….

If I could put 0 stars it would be better. Today was my first time here and my last. Terrible service! The lady that cut my hair had the worst mood and she made me realize it through her work. Worst cut ever and attention to detail.However I noticed that they rest of the hair stylist were friendly with their customers. So is just one black sheep I guess.

I’ve been going to great clips for a while now but I decided I needed a stylist that would actually try to help me make my hair look good. Krysti did a fantastic job, listening to what I was asking for and helping me figure out how to properly style my hair. It looks better than it ever did. I’ll be back for sure

We were visiting Charlotte and I took my son in to get a haircut... WOW, what a butcher job. Its hard enough being a 12 year old without him walking around with a butcher job haircut. They are not inexpensive so I expected better quality... But no, we got a Cheapo-Crooked-Cut

I went back to Honey Cuts after around 8 months, I felt safe and as usual great service.

Great cut, did exactly what I wanted!

Perfunctory. First impression counts, and I was not impressed. The service was cordial and respectful but not personable or truly friendly. Not thrilled with the cut either. 100% chance that I will not go back. I can get the same or better service at any other place like Great Clips, Super Cut, or any of the like. Honestly, I think I rather prefer to pay more and go to a place like Shear Excellence.

The service is best if you call ahead. If you walk in, the system and staff dont really know what the open capacity is between call-head appointments, so you could wait 90 min for a 10 min haircut.The people are nice and they do a nice job.

I have been to this location twice! It is always busy and full of people! Samantha has been cutting my hair for years and I have followed her wherever she goes. The people are very nice and friendly and welcoming. Samantha always goes above and beyond and you will not be unsatisfied with your haircut at all! It’s also nice to make an appointment so you can get in and out quicker!

Ive been coming to this location since its been open. I love the service here. Never have any issues. The stylists are always friendly and polite. Im very picky when it comes to my hair. And I will always come here so long as they are open. Especially love the hot towel and neck massage totally relaxing.

Great place to get your haircut. Very nice looking shop. Chairs are big and comfortable unlike any ive seen before. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend crystal, shes very meticulous with her work. Probably spent more time on the chair than ever before but because she was making sure everything was perfect, no complaints what so ever. Highly recommend it

Starting a new job so went in for a styled haircut rather than just a military cut Ive been doing myself at home. They had they haircut I had from a few years ago still in the system. Made it really easy since Im indecisive when it comes to stuff like that

They have a regular staff of professionally trained stylists who pay close attention to detail and offer a variety of services for men. Walk-ins are welcome, but I would highly recommend calling and making an appointment because they stay busy.

I’ve been coming here for 7 years and it’s one of the best hair cut experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend the steam towel, wash, and massage. I’ve gotten a haircut from every hair stylist over the years, and have only had one bad hair cut. Everyone here is excellent at what they do. Hong has been taking care of me for the last few years, she’s very detail oriented and takes her time to deliver an exceptional cut.

I keep coming back due to the fact that I always get a great cut/experience from Stephanie, and not to mention the atmosphere of the store/staff! This is a good place to go for mens haircuts . Fairly cheap but they take great care of you . My favorite is Hong Mieng (the stylist) . She takes her time to make sure she does a great job. Shes worth the wait . If you really like the cut and treatment you receive please remember to tip really well . More than $5 if you can . They work hard to pay their Bills also .

One of the stylist decided yelling at my 7 year old was appropriate. She was wrong! I’ve been going to this place for 3 years without incident. Today they lost customers.I cannot express how awful this experience was. I recommend going literally anywhere else in America for a haircut.

Set up an appointment for 2pm. I arrive at 1:55 and check in. After 45 minutes of waiting around I check in again and ask why it is taking so long. The girl very rudely says that the gentleman she just sat had an appointment at 2:30. I kindly remind them that I had an appointment at 2 pm and have been waiting. She then snaps at me and says that I was late which I was not since this was the same girl who checked me in at 1:55. This is completely unacceptable and I will not be bringing my business back here. Do not lash out at your paying customers because you are short staffed on a Saturday. I will very gladly take my business elsewhere. So much for Southern hospitality 🤷🏻‍♂️👎🏻

Love Honeycuts, been going for over a year now and never a bad haircut. They can get busy, so i usually make an appointment with the same stylist, Julie. The staff is super friendly and run a great shop. Not sure why all the negative reviews, but the regular clients sure appreciate all the staff!

Last weekend I took both of my sons to get their hair cut here. It was extremely busy so we made an appointment so as not to wait in the crowded waiting room. My boys are 11 & 13, this was our 3rd visit and we will continue to be loyal to these ladies who care about my sons as much as I do. The stylist asked me, then listened to my sons and helped us choose styles we would all be happy with. No “roasting” from their friends about their cuts when we come here. I speak from experience when I say you won’t get that at the big chains who rush. Thank you to our stylist who also has sons. We can’t remember her name because our youngest ate her card.

I give only two stars simply from lack of training. This is the second time I have visited in two months and had the same experience. When I arrived I heard a hi from the hair stylists, and from there they continued to cut their customers hair while just staring at me. After an awkward few minutes I walked out the door. I went down the street to another barber shop, walked in and immediately heard, good morning sir, your wait should not be more than five minutes, please have a seat, enjoy a magazine and well be right with you. Now, which is the better experience?

I have been coming to this shop for nearly 4 years. I have had the pleasure of having my hair cut by three different stylists. They are all very nice and love to joke around while working hard. I have even gotten them lunch because they work so hard and dont have time to go out and get food.

I’ve been going here for great haircuts since the day Honey Cuts opened. There’s a reason it’s so busy...it’s the best place for a haircut in CLT! My advice...make an appointment and don’t be late. My son and I have been getting our hair cut here for years and today is our last day. Spent two hours waiting while people who came in after me got taken care of first. Not one person acknowledged me or the fact that the wait would be long. When I brought it up to the staff, they shrugged their shoulders. Then to make matters worse, one of your “stylists” gave her son a haircut who walked in about an hour after I was still waiting.Two hours of my life gone and I still didn’t get a haircut. And my whole afternoon is now shot as I’m now scrambling to find someone else to cut my hair.If you don’t care about your customers, why should I care about you.Reply to your response: As I mentioned. Not one person told me the wait was going to be over an hour. Nor did they tell anyone else until someone asked as they were about to sign in. By then I had been there for over an hour already and figured I would be next. That was a wrong assumption.As for being short handed, that’s not my problem. Instead of blaming me for the lack of communication maybe you guys should have tried to fix it when I complained instead of blowing me off. The refusal to acknowledge and try to correct the problem is why I will never use you guys again.

Over 100 haircuts and I only stopped going because I moved my office. Great haircuts, clean, great service, and I love the massage and hot towel. I miss this. All of these ladies are the best.

If I could I would rate this place a 0 out of 5 stars if possible. Firstly I told the hairdresser to leave 1 inch on the sides and she managed to take 4.5 inches and turn it into 1 centimeter of hair. Secondly I asked her to leave some curls on the top and she cut it to 1 inch eliminating all curls, now I get it was her first time cutting my hair and she doesn’t know my hair, but I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she botched it up so bad I look completely different in both pictures. Other than that the place is at least clean and seems to be ran well.

I have been to high end mens hair salons, and I can say that Honeycuts in Ballantyne is on top with the best of them. You get the same service for a lower cost. I highly recommend Stephanie! Awful service. Hardly acknowledge you then start telling people walking in behind you it’s a long wait while you sit there. Appointments keep walking in and they are rogue as **** on the wait list. Go somewhere else or cut it yourself. Fanstasic Sams up street is much better.

Been going there since i first stopped cutting my own hair about a year ago. i have never had a bad experience. i get a different person every time because i never mind. but its one of the few places i have been in the area that can properly do a fade, especially one by hand. other places use a fade tool. ive never had to wait longer than 20 minutes and that was on a day where it was extremely busy. i also never make an appointment and im always a walk in so that tells you something. the girls are friendly and i watch them regularly remember who you are when youve been there and talk to you about things you discussed during your last visit. its a person place where you arent just a number.

I have seen some of the not so good reviews about Honeycuts. I have been going to Honeycuts for years now and have never had one bad experience. Several times i have called ahead to see how busy they are and they have said you may want to wait for a little while because they were busy. Often times i have made appointments and have never waited longer than 5 to 10 mins. Alot of their business are walk in so wait times can change in a matter of mins. If your life is that busy that you can’t wait a few minutes then I suggest you make an appointment or go somewhere and get a horrible haircut. Also i am sure that each of the ones on here complaining of wait times get a hour or more lunch break to relax and eat. Well these awesome girls that work here most of the time DO NOT take a lunch so they can better serve you and cut down wait times. I am sorry that they may take a 5 min break between cuts but tomorrow when u are at work, try not taking a break or your hour lunch and see how you feel. Maybe that will make you understand a little better. To all the girls that work here, keep up the great work and don’t let a few people(who think their time is so important) get you down. I highly recommend Honeycuts and will continue to get my haircut here.

I have been going to see Hong for a year now, she is as consistant as you can find. She is very good about attention to detail and taking her time to give you a great cut.Customer Service has been good and its typically a funny environment to be in all around. Prices are fair and the products they carry have all been pretty good.

A very good family friend who is a client or should I say a former client of Honeycuts shared his most recent experience at Honeycutts and I was appalled. Hairstylist Huang (unsure of spelling) is extremely RUDE and a BULLY. She chastised my friend for not using the proper haircut terms when describing what he wanted. Then Huang proceeded to complain to my friend that he tipped another stylist better the last time he came in and demanded that she get the same tip or more because it was the holiday season. HOW DARE YOU, HUANG! You should be ashamed of yourself!

Do not get your haircut in here. My husband took my son in to have his haircut here and his haircut is TERRIBLE. So bad. Not only was the girl unfriendly, but she clearly doesnt know what she is doing. His hair is lopsided, much shorter on one side than the other. It also has a lot of weird chunky cuts and lines in it. And in the front there a couple chunks that are longer than all the rest, and over his eyes. I just cant get over how bad this cut is. Do not go here to get your haircut.

Was 100% going to come here, but seeing how the owner responds to negative comments online, I decided otherwise. Not only was it a bit petty, it was also incredibly unprofessional. The owner consistently tries to invalidate any negative comments by essentially telling the reviewers theyre lying. If someone had a bad experience, they had a bad experience. The facts dont change that. Looking forward to getting my hair cut literally anywhere else.

Walked in with the intention of getting a haircut after I had called ahead a few minutes earlier and was told there was a 15-20 minute wait. I’m fine with waiting, this wasn’t the issue. But it’s worth pointing out that I waited for about 40 minutes before I left. The issue was that the hair stylists took SO much time in between haircuts to joke around, talk amongst themselves, and waste time while the shop was full of people waiting to get haircuts. They wasted about 10 minutes in between haircuts just talking and walking around.Again, I don’t mind waiting, and it wasn’t even about the fact that the actual wait was more than twice as long than what I was told over the phone. I get it, there were a lot of people there for a haircut, it gets crazy and it was very busy. I’m ok with that and I have enough patience to bear with you if I see that your place is packed and you’re behind on the waitlist.But this place clearly doesn’t value their customers’ time if their staff thinks it’s alright to waste 10 mins in between each haircut when they have a wait list of 6-8 people whose haircuts should all take 10-15 minutes. I chose to take my business elsewhere.EDIT AFTER OWNERS RESPONSE:I appreciate your response and I think my initial review was clear that I dont blame the stylists for being busy! It could very well be possible that 3 or more people walked in during the 5 minutes it took me to get to the shop; I made the call in my car on my way over. And yes, I agree its good for business to be busy.However, may I suggest that your stylists take breaks somewhere else other than in plain view of the customers? Maybe in a back room, or outside? When they take a long break in between cuts to talk, joke around, laugh, and not pay attention to anyone waiting, it gives a bad impression. Especially when you have 6-8 people patiently waiting to get a haircut. Thats all Im saying. You guys were very busy and the stylists seemed to be in no rush to get to the next haircut to get everyone through and out in a timely manner, and the impression it gives potential customers like me is that you dont value your clients time. Your stylists are getting paid to be there, were not.Regardless, instead of immediately getting defensive at every negative review you receive, you should take this feedback as an opportunity to look at your business model and employee training to see where you can improve. I just scrolled down to read other reviews and in most negative reviews, you have tried to discredit and argue with the poster. Clearly, youre losing some customers for one reason or another and as an owner who strives to put the customer first you should take these criticisms constructively, not offensively.

I always sit in the waiting area while my husband gets a hair cut. Its nice to see and hear how all the ladies there are so nice, so funny and so charming to everyone that comes in. The salon is organized and nicely decorated.

As a past employee I feel I can tell you from experience, each & every client is highly valued. While it has been many years, I still know most every employee. Why? Because while this salon values their clients, they also value their stylists. After scanning through the reviews below, I realized HoneyCuts is only portrayed correctly in a few. To anyone checking reviews before deciding whether or not this shop will deliver you the best possible experience, read this.Many different people sit in these stylist’s chairs daily. With many different backgrounds, careers, ethnicities, hair textures, & stories. While our goal was (& i’m positive still is) to respect our current client’s time & the client who is waiting’s time, we also prided ourselves in being more than a stylist. We formed friendships with most every client that stepped foot through the door, of all ages. We volunteerly missed lunches or any break longer than 2-3 minutes (long enough to potty or take a bite of food, ha. just keeping it real here) so that any client waiting, wouldn’t feel we were neglecting the importance of their time. In any business, we can all agree that a permanent client base can only be formed through relationships. If you do not take the time to nurture said relationship, it will not flourish. This is why haircuts are not rushed, nor take only 5 minutes to complete. To anyone that feels they were treated unfairly by any stylist, who feels their wait time was misquoted or too long, or who feels their cut was not up to par, just know, had you made it to the seat, the treatment you would have received would be the same treatment that clients whom have been a HoneyCut’s family member for close to a decade have also received. If you’re unhappy, these ladies will not stop until you’re completely pleased. I know, because I’m very aware of the ethics held within the shop. These ladies hold themselves to the highest & most respectful standard. Give this shop a go. I’m sure you’ll be the next permanent part of the HoneyCuts fam - especially considering the price!

BEWARE. Just like the other review, I waited forever and never got a cut. After being told I was next in line, I subsequently learned that others with an appointment could show up early and get right in. After being jumped by multiple people the experience was so frustrating I left. They are disorganized and unprofessional, and expensive. With so many better options in the area do not waste your time here.

Ive been getting my cuts at HoneyCuts in Ballantyne since 2012. I highly recommend this place...you get a quality cut for a reasonable price, and the staff is super friendly. I pay $25 for the Total which includes a cut, hot towel, massaging shampoo and conditioner, and a post-shampoo head neck massage....cant beat that! Ive tried other Ballantyne mens hair salons and theyre either crazy expensive or not as good.My stylist is Hong, shes great and has lots of experience...and shes a funny gal with lots of jokes. Try her or any of the other stylists...theyre all good.

I have been going here for almost 2 years. I love this place, and my stylist Hong is the best! I first met Hong when a new stylist had messed up my hair cut. Hong who was not my stylist came over fixed my hair and trained the new stylist on how to do it right. Hong found out that I work in mental health and that my hospital cuts patients hair for free. She donated over $300 worth of clippers, and other hair supplies. Hong is funny, and can talk junk with the best of them, but dont be fooled she is amazing at cutting hair!

Amazing how I see negative reviews here...just know obviously those folks had no idea what they are talking about...I have been going to this establishment for over a year now...I get a flat top haircut and Hong is the best I have ever had doing this...I have been to so many other barbershops that claim they can do this cut...yeah, no they cant...they utilize a flattop comb tool and still cannot get it right (and cost more)...Hong does it freehand and is the best I have ever had in years...and the price is right too...cmon guys $15 for a haircut is reasonable to me...no I dont do the wash and massage and hot towel add-ons...of course that will cost more, I just prefer not too...I just like a good haircut...I would recommend this place and Hong to anyone and have several times...and by the way you can call and make appointments like I do, of course you will be put ahead of walk-ins...hello...all places do this...and by the way Julie has cut my hair too and is wonderful also....so dont take my word for it or other peoples opinions...come in and experience the great cut for yourselves!
