My new years 2017 has been ruined. I should have known better. I dont usually write a review, but after going to this barbershop and paying sometime more than $30 per cut for over a year, in the hope that one day I will get a better haircut, I am obligated to write this review after getting the worst hair cut right before the new year. My barber really did me wrong. 1. my barber cut my hair too low, 2. The right side of my cut is too far back compared to the left side and I ended up getting charge additional $5 to darken the area he cut too far back, 3. he spent over an hour chatting instead of cutting and getting me out of there, time wasted on a bad cut in the end. I really like staying with one barber, but after this bad cut which is one of the many bad cut he gave me, I am really disappointed and feel so awful that I came home and shaved my head.My advise to this shop before they loose all their customers is to please put more value in the customer you have and take your work seriously. It takes only one bad barber to screw up for everyone. I must say the shop has lots of good barber, but the third barber on the right side is a really bad barber - I wont say his name but he is the guy right after the girl on the right side once you walk in. Bro thank you for your cuts but no thanks.

I dont normally frequent black barber shops. Being a white guy the things I need from a hair cut dont really fall into that category. I might have to change my habits though. The price was extremely fair for what was covered and the level of detail and attention paid to neckline, beard, eyebrows, and all the edges in general was amazing. Top level job.The barber wasnt particularly pleasant, but I didnt come for a chat, I came for a haircut and I got one.

I received the best haircut of my entire life here. The staff is friendly and professional, and the barbers are very detail oriented. They make sure its a haircut and style that you want and will not rush through a haircut. If its busy when you go in, you can expect to wait for 20-30 minutes. I imagine booking an appointment solves this problem. The haircut you receive is absolutely worth the wait.The atmosphere is really cool too. Two TVs connected to a quality sound system are always playing something interesting. I caught the second half of an ESPN 30-for-30 documentary while I was there today.These guys are all about quality over quantity. I really cant recommend them enough.10/10

We just left your barber shop. Upon paying for the hair cut, we asked for a student discount because your wall displayed that you guys grant UNCC college student discounts. However, your employee smirked saying that she already had to cut her hair twice! She wasn’t going to give the student discount! One, maybe the business owner should take off that sign. Two, we definitely noticed her having to spend a little more time on us but, she definitely didn’t have to cut it twice. We simply asked for the fade to go a little higher. That was all! Also, we already were going to tip a good amount because of the time spent on us but because she was so rude, I almost didn’t even want to tip anything!

The detail in haircuts the barbers provide here are outstanding . Ive been here twice now, two different barbers, both clean cuts. Price point is right and they have a student discount with i.d. Would recommend.

Great Service here and great quality. They take their time making sure youll be happy with the cut you want. Tika cuts my kids hair and does a phenomenal job! Make sure you go see her!!

Love listening to the music here and just relaxing a bit, very refreshing and good rates to boot with a discount for college students with ID. Tony and the staff all take great care in their work but that said try to book an appointment in advance if you dont want to wait. Good to have a place that takes what they do seriously and not just on the phone or messing around while theyre at work.

Horrible service I stayed there for 3 hrs and they kept skipping me. also went in on a Saturday and they told me it was closed at 2 when they close at 5

Am I the first one to rate these guys? Ive been here about 4 or 5 times and always had a good experience. The barbers are friendly and funny, and the pricing is good (specials on somedays). And they do such a better job on guys haircuts then a salon or great clips.

100% WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.Possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a barber shop. I had to wait 4 HOURS to recieve my haircut, as Tone McGill put everyone over me in recieving haircuts, and when I finally got my haircut, I was given HORRIBLE customer service and attitude by the barber and given a mediocre haircut. This barbershop will no longer get my service.

What is the point of an appointment? My boyfriend sets a time and is there 10 mins before his time. But when he gets there he hasnt even started on the person before him. We wait a hour in a half after our appt time. This isnt a one time thing. This happens all the time. He does great work but he doesnt care about your time. Sad. Try to support black business but this is why we go elsewhere. Our time is just as important as yours. Please get it together.

I got a messed up haircut here. My fade was unacceptable. I was supposed to be compensated with a huge $30 off discount on my next haircut by Tone, the top barber who charges way more than the other guys, instead of the previous guy who cut me. The day I made that appointment, Tone was 40 minutes late and had 2 clients to cut before me. He said he had an emergency but his unapologetic demeanor made me feel as if this is the norm.

Absolutely stellar hair cut as usually. Tone Mcgill is a master at the art of being a barber definitely recommend to anyone and everyone
