Modern Classics Grooming Lounge is by far the best barber shop in the Charlotte area. The whole team here is amazing and a master of their craft. You could easily schedule a haircut here with any one of the barbers and be well taken care of. When I moved to Charlotte over four years ago it took years going to every barbershop I could find and receiving mediocre haircuts at best. That is until Modern Classics opened. I regularly go to Matthew but have gotten cut by a few of the others as well when needed.

If you’re looking for a go to barbershop, go to Modern Classics. Needed a last second cut and was told they didn’t do walk-ins, before I left the parking lot Matt walked out and went out of his way to fit me in his schedule. I’ve been to 3 or 4 different barbershops in CLT and this is hands down the best. The barbers here actually care about and love what they do. Go see MATT!

Been getting me hair cut here now for a while now. Struggled finding a barber when I moved back to Charlotte. Modern Classics is in SouthEnd so it’s convenient for me. The guys here are professional and all of them can cut hair. Matt hooks it up every time for me. Highly recommend these guys. They’ll take care of you, and you won’t find a nicer shop in Charlotte.

Ive lived in Charlotte for many years and I have always struggled with finding a good person to cut my hair let alone get good quality professional shave. Best barber shop ever, hands down. Been going to Donnie, the owner, for over a year and a half now and I can always depend on a great and consistent haircut as well as knowing Im going to get my haircut on the time I schedule vs. going in and having to wait another 30 minutes after my scheduled time. He really did a thorough job on finding other barbers and they do just as quality work. Its nice knowing that everyone in the barbershop can cut. On top of that, they can all fade really good AND use scissors as well. You NEVER find a place that can do fades and use scissors. These are definitely the best barbers in all of Charlotte. The environment is great: chill and calm and I can actually hear my barber and have a good convo with him, theres plenty of easy and free parking, atmosphere of the place is awesome with a modern feel. Its also attached to the speak easy and South Bound restaurant if you want to grab a quick bite of food or drink.
