Gene is amazing. His hair cuts are on a different level. My hair grows out well and looks good two months after the cut. Ive spent twice as much for haircuts half as good.

Always a great experience here. Gene has a passion for cutting hair and truly enjoys what he does. The cut is always fantastic as he uses a razor sculpting technique that is tough to find anymore. The hair lays better and last a lot longer with this technique. Occasionally because of schedule I have to get my hair cut at some other place and I can quickly see that those cuts dont compare to Genes work in quality, nor do they last nearly as long. Call for an appt, but usually he can get people in on fairly short notice- same or next day. Most people that go to him wont get their hair cut anywhere else! He is also a really great and friendly guy too.

I wouldnt say Gene is a barber, but a master craftman. In my opinion, Genes barber shops is one of those hidden gems in Charlotte. This guy knows how to cut hair.

Got a haircut. Got charged $34. Haircut wasnt the greatest. Gene is a pretty nice guy. He has many loyal customers. Although at the price hes charging, its hard to justify going here over the CUT.

This has to be the worst barber I have ever had my haircut from. People use him from convenience - but this old man can’t cut hair - he ruined my hair twice. Some areas were longer than others. Absolutely appalling. Avoid

Great guy, very nice. Cut looked decent when I left but, sorry to say, after a shower and under better light, I could see all the bad, messed up, and uneven lines. Like, it was really bad. And totally messed up my beard and mustache too. Maybe he just doesnt know how to work on my kind of hair or shape of my head, maybe hes just better with scissors than clippers. He has no shortage of customers, thats for sure, and people love him so me not going back isnt going to hurt him.FYI: he holds a patent on something he uses so he must definitely know what hes doing.

I have been having my hair razor cut by Gene for at least 25 years.. I was a senior executive with a number of banks in town including Wells Fargo (Wachovia) and Bank of America. I was a client facing executive and needed to look my best . Gene did that month after month giving me the best haircuts Ive ever had . In retirement, I drive to center city once a month to experience Genes artistic ability with a straight razor. AMAZING!!

Probably the best cut Ive ever had. Gene doesnt just cut hair, he evaluates your hairline and structures your hair to your face with his razor. Hes great at explaining how he can alleviate annoying features to thinning hair. I thin in the front and he totally fixed my look!!! Ill come back for sure. Totally worth it!!!!

Terrible experience after going here based on reviews from Yelp-Terrible blend job with hair on the back and and sides.-Sideburn length was way off from one another-Neck trim was crooked a f***-Asked me if $20 was ok when we were processing my debit card I said that was fine and I gave him a $5 bill for a tip, turns out my bank app the next day hed charged $28 not $20. No wonder he didnt give me receipt$10 parking on the garageSo $28 +5 + 10 for a fifteen minute cut is is crazy. Dont think Ive ever had a worse time at a barber shop. I had to go home a fix his mess with some clippers I had* I believe these other reviews are padded made up. Beware
