In 1976 (45 years ago), Cecil got out of barber school and started practicing at about the same time I got out of law school and started practicing ... about a block away. Cecil and I were both new kids on the block.My first couple of appointments @ Latta Arcade were with George, the founder, but after a very short time, George got sick and died (heart attack in the shop) and I had the good fortune of becoming a client of Cecils and there I stayed for 30 years until I retired and moved to Sullivans Island.Every other Saturday afternoon, Cecil and I and several other clients (Tommy & Don & others) and Marvin ( a downtown legend) got together and got our hair cuts, ate Prices fried chicken, did Blues Brothers routines, and laughed and laughed and laughed.Cecil and I are very old now and both retired and I havent seen him in several years.But he is nobility and the memories of my time with him in the Latta Arcade are cherished.Thanks Cecil.

When I moved to Charlotte I searched for the right barbershop and was thrilled to find the Arcade Mens Room. I love the location; the cleanliness of uptown is mixed with a rare historic location (rare in Charlotte). I love that I can walk in wearing a t-shirt and jeans or wearing a suit on lunch break and feel equally comfortable. Best of all.. Ive never had a better haircut!

Wish I could review. Mens Room staff seemed friendly and the shop looked nice. I walked in and took a seat in the waiting area, as all the barbers were busy. After waiting a few minutes, a barber asked if I had an appointment. Unfortunately I didnt know appointments were needed, as they was no signs saying appointments only. I was told they were completely booked up, were short handed, and didnt do walk-ins. I was even willing to wait, but that wasnt an option. Ive never been to a barber shop where walk-ins werent welcome. In fairness, the barber was very friendly and offered to book me for the next day, but that wasnt an option. I know its my fault for not making an appointment, but Ive never been to a barber shop where they turn you away.

This place is absolutely dynamite. I dont have the right kind of hair for a barbershop, as I keep it long and thick... Tyi still kills it. I stopped by one day after work and have been back once a month ever since.Entire crew is extremely friendly and funny. DeMichael waves nearly every single day when I grab food in the arcade on my lunch break. Stop by for top notch haircuts, and top notch people.

Very historical location performing modern day stylings for men and women. Located in the oldest arcade in Charlotte. Have been using the same Barber for 45 plus years.

Went in for a haircut with Demichael and was thoroughly impressed. Hands down one of the best barbers in the city. He was incredibly thorough and meticulous when it came to the details, I left with one of the best haircuts Ive had. Really nice group of people as well, had great conversation and even as someone new to the shop felt immediately welcomed. ill certainly be returning!

This is absolutely the worst haircut experience I have ever had. To begin with, I am bald and just needed to get my hair a little lower and goatee shape up. The barber did not get the level of my hair down at all, and cut my lip with her razor beneath my nose while shaping up my goatee. To top it off I was charged $45 for something that I could easily have had done for less than $20 elsewhere. A complete rip-off for the worst haircut ever. I will certainly NEVER go there again.

Garbage establishment. One good barber (guy by the door) but the rest of them are trash.

I asked for leave top, high taper, 1 on the sides, Fade bottom and hard part. Done exactly right! Great haircut.
