Wow! The service was quick, the rep was on time, efficient and it was all EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE. He just left from servicing my acura transmission. The mechanic shops were quoting me no less than $2,000. For $150, he diagnosed and fixed what was wrong and wouldn’t leave until I test drove it to make sure the problems didn’t persist. I believe keeping up with something as vital as a vehicle, shouldn’t make you vulnerable to someone who’s trying to get one over on you, so this really made my day and I highly recommend My Auto Mechanic!

I specialize in Japanese Imports, mainly Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus and Nissan. I do brakes, timing belts, water pumps, clutches, transmission or engine replacements. In September 2018 I called Hip because the braking system in my car was TOTALLY shot! This was labor day weekend and after getting my car towed to his shop on Sunday...He had checked the brakes and had an estimate to me first thing Monday (labor day) morning!!! He saved me hundreds of dollars and managed to get my bill way UNDER $1000...for an ENTIRE new system...not just pads and rotors....Im talking the works!!! I never thought to leave a review, but today as I was out and about I started thinking about how they saved my car and how fortunate I was to find them! Thank you for everything!

I’ve been a customer since 2013. Hippy is the manager. He’s a hard working family man, honest, performs great quality work for a reasonable price. Hipp, the owner is the BEST mechanic I know in Charlotte. Located near Uptown Charlotte, right off I-85, you will be able to get here in no time. Reasonably priced; always helpful and gets right to the point (not trying to find/create another problem to have you pay to get that fixed), he is the truth.If you need to wait for your car to be fixed you can go to the nail salon, run by his wife Linda, although I would highly suggest that you make an appointment with her(you wont regret it).

Your car came to me on a tow truck, no start condition. No fuel to the engine. I determined that the fuel pump was faulty and got the car to run after replacing the fuel pump. After replacing the fuel pump, guess what, all the sudden the car runs now. If you want to tell a story, tell a complete story before you bad mouth a person. You spent 440 so dollars with me. Your fuel pump was sold to you at the same cost at which I got it for, 220 dollars. Cheaper then anywhere you could have gotten for because of my discount that I passed on to you. I charged you only for pulling down the fuel tank and didnt charge to fix the misfire that I spent an extra 2 hours to fix for you. I picked you up in your own car after I repaired your car, you drove me back to my shop in your car ......AFTER your car was TOWED to me. I did my part, did not charge you for any other problems or diagnose any other issue with your car after fixing your misfire. You are a smart person, but your logic and understanding of how to fix cars is non existent. Its like going in to get your knees rebuilt and blaming the doctor for a bad elbow after the surgery. You just stated that you also needed a catalytic converter and bought a car from a junk yard, which yea I should have known when working on it. Thanks for your review, and Im glad I can at least respond in public view and point out the flaws in your review. You are the first person to not be satisfied with my work but also the first person that brought a junk yard car for me to fix, there is always a reason why a car goes to the junk yard.

I will recommend any customer to bring there car to Dave and Hippie. They have always gone above and beyond working on all my cars. They have work on my BMW, and Lexus. There service at there shop is excellent. I feel comfortable bringing my car to get service then going any big dealership. I have learn not to go to BMW dealership. The last time I took my wife car there to fix a computer problem that they quoted me 1200.00. When I picked up the car there were some problem with the car and cost me another 3,000.00.

I love Hippy’s approach to diagnosing and explaining what’s going on. He even showed me the issue with my car and what next steps I need to make. He’s straightforward and saved me around $600 from Meinkie’s assessment. I don’t think I’ll take my car anywhere else.

Hippie is awesome. His wife has done my nails I the past and when she moved I to the shop with him i decided to give him a shot. He has ordered tires, changed my oil and will soon be working on the headlights on my 09 lexus 460. Same service at the dealer was going to run almost 600... he charges a fraction of that with fast and efficient service. Took 2001 Mercury Sable after a positive referral. Unfortunately, that was not the case for my situation. After providing engine codes and giving other information I received from mechanics, Hippy concluded that I needed a fuel pump. After installation and driving back home, the car drove fine. The very next day, the car has the exact same issues as before but now so, even worse. I take the car back to him only to be told that I would need to go get a diagnostic at the Ford dealership and from there he could tell me whats wrong. Of course this 400 after that fact but I guess that was my problem as I had to sell the car to a junk yard because the real issue was the catalytic converter which I suggested as well. Extremely disappointed and angry. Will never take my car back to his shop, nor do I recommend anyone else.
