On a Saturday morning I was driving around to a couple different places trying to find someone to put a lift, wheels and tires on my 2011 Jeep Wrangler. I walked into Big Jims and we talked for over an hour about the process, what brands to use and helped me find the most reliable brands. Big Jim is a great guy. Very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and is looking out for his customers. I could not say enough about the quality of work and the customer service he provides.

Brought my Range Rover to Big Jim for some transmission issues. He quickly diagnosed the issue and ordered the part. He even came in the Saturday before Memorial Day and fixed much sooner than I thought he would. I highly recommend him! He is extremely polite and knowledgeable. Will use him again in the future!

I was at wits end trying to get my Jeep (vintage WWII) back up and running. Totally trashed the rear differential which is beyond my mechanical skills. Big Jim and team were able to quickly diagnose, assist in finding parts, repaired and got me back on the road. Honest, Friendly and timely. Great quality work.

Big Jims was fantastic. Jim was very knowledgeable about my vehicle (Jeep Cherokee) and his price was exactly what I expected for the work he did. I dropped it off Thursday and it was done on Monday, couldnt ask for better service! I will be taking my Jeep exclusively to him from here on out. Trying to protect other consumers: Took my vehicle in for quote. Big Jim wanted quote fee of $100; no prob. Asked him if I could apply that to repair once he diagnosed problem, which he replied, No. Problem: Most other shops apply this diagnostic fee to repair price. I decided to pay him the $100, to find out how serious the issue was. He called me later to let me know I had several issues, which would run me $1600. I asked him for a copy of his defect findings, and he refused, because I might decide to get it repaired somewhere else! Huge problem! I paid him for diagnostics, which he would only orally provide; am I supposed to remember all that stuff?! I obviously decided not to get it fixed there, and got it fixed at another local shop for $450! PS: very arrogant fellow.

It’s a long story, but I had car in bad shape. Jim helped me through the process of getting and installing a new engine. He is a great mechanic with a can do attitude, honest and reliable. What more could you ask for. I have four cars and when they need work I am bringing them to Jim.

Took vehicle in for a diag procedure due to Check Engine Light being on. Jim charged me $99 for a diag fee which I thought was more than fair being that car dealerships charge up to twice that. He stated that if I had a major repair, he would apply the $99 toward the repair. Again, very fair. As it turned out, I had a misfire on one of my ignition coils. He was able to get the part and replace it within a couple of hours and not leave me stranded for a long period of time. The price was spot on and very fair, as opposed to other shops and car dealerships. Jim was very nice and kept me informed along the way as to what was taking place. These days you have to beg to get a returned phone call. And above all, he offered me a very good warranty to cover parts and labor!! Hats off to Jim and his business!! Highly recommend!

Queen City transmission big Jim and crew always get the job done the right way 1st time a reasonable rates

Big Jims is great. I took my car there for a transmission repair last year (after the guy at the dealership tried to be super sketchy and offered to do an under-the-table deal where he wanted to get a used transmission off the internet to replace mine) and its still working great, plus its under a 2 year warranty. The best part was that Jim took out a big transmission book, flipped to the page with my model of car, and showed me the exact parts that were broken. A nice change from most mechanics that list off a bunch of mumbo-jumbo technical terms with no real explanation. I really appreciated the simplified explanation of what was broken on my car. The repair was expensive, but... transmission repairs are expensive. Then a few days ago I took my car to Jim for a brakes repair, after going to a different mechanic (I had wrongly assumed Jim only did transmissions) that quoted me a ridiculous price and was clearly trying to rip me off. Jim quoted me a price $300 less than the other place and explained that the other place was going overboard, and my car simply needed new brake pads & discs. He finished the repair very quickly and so far everything is working great with my brakes. Overall Jim seems like an honest guy who is great at explaining why your car needs certain repairs... and he doesnt try to rip you off with unnecessary repairs.

Great experience dealing with Jim. Easy to communicate with, honest shop. I didn’t end up going with Jim for this one but would highly recommend to a friend

Jim is a great guy who is INCREDIBLY GENEROUS WITH HIS TIME to explain things and give you options that others just dont do!I took my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 in for AC repair expecting to have a painful experience financially. Turns out that the dealership had improperly charged the freon & that was ALL THAT WAS NEEDED! My bill was so low that Ive left it with him to get a few other things done... 😁They even gave me the name of a different shop for something that they didnt specialize in. Other places would have quoted you a price and then outsourced the work so that they could make additional money. These people ARE HONEST and do GREAT WORK for REASONABLE prices! Sadly its not a common thing to find a GOOD AND HONEST auto repair shop so try them out!I highly recommend this shop! They SAVED ME A FEW THOUSANDS DOLLARS TODAY! NO KIDDING!Jim knows all about the right tires and rims to make your vehicle look right. With the money Ive saved Im having them upgrade my tires! Their PRICES are VERY COMPETITIVE and I have the good feeling of knowing that this is going to be done right! He lead me to some tires Id never considered before that look great, are long lasting and were a better price!Theyre great looking AND he was able to tell me from experience about how well they hold up, road noise, etc.Ive found my auto repair shop and will USE THEM LOYALY from here on out!I HIGHLY Recommend BIG JIMS FOR MANY GREAT REASONS!If I could give more than five stars I would!FIVE STARS 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟!! I had a warranty job that they took care of. Less then a year later the transmission started to act up. I went back and was told that the warranty people supplied the parts and they would not cover. I found out that parts were missing and screws were not secured properly. I don’t recommend. It’s cost more money to fix and they are not worth it.

This guy knows transmissions and he does it very well provided great customer service along with affordable pricing. transmission work is an art and this guy really knows his stuff

Had a very bad experience with this very dishonest business! There word means nothing and the overall experience was very bad. There pricing was very high and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO MY WORST ENEMY! STAY AWAY!!!
