The A&R team were great! They quickly diagnosed an issue on my excursion thatβs been plaguing me for a while now! Thank you all!!
Owner is cool tow truck driver has a ego problem
Great people
My favorite mechanic recommended to my sister she recommended to her friend they kept those two ladies happy must be a miracle
I have had several repairs and maintenance done to my Jeep here over the past few years. They have always given me the best pricing I could find in town. They are trustworthy and have been honest to me about what work was imperative and what work could wait until I had more money. Several of my family members have brought their vehicles here for repairs as well and they have also been very happy with their customer service and work.
A and R has done all my service work for years. Great price and service and the work always holds up well. I highly recommend then to you. They are always honest
I would definitely recommend A & R Auto for your car maintenance. I dont have major issues with my car just routine maintenance, oil changes, tire rotation, etc. Been going a long time. There friendly, courteous people.
Dont be misled by the rather shabby office and the motley crew, these folks do good work. I had a bad engine overheat from a blown coolant valve that led to melted gaskets and a warped cylinder head in an older car, and Anthony and his people had it running like new. They could use an office manager and a waiting room, but the mechanics are top notch and cost competitive.
This place is awesome they helped me when my car broke down. 2 other shops told me I needed a new motor because I was losing oil pressure. When really the only thing that was wrong was my oil pressure sending unit. They saved me thousands!!! Will deffentaly be a life long customer!!!
*PLEASE READ BEFORE USING A&R Auto*If you are considering engine work or any auto work at A&R, please consider the timeline of my experience there. I purchased a friends car with a blown engine and decided to take it to them for engine replacement.September 2017 - engine replacement, initially happy with work and it drove off the lot without issue. For the next 8 months, I drove it once a week and checked oil/antifreeze levels to make sure everything was good to go. It was my second car, not a daily driver. The mileage came to ~200 miles. Only 200 miles.April 2018 - Engine blew up while on 77 South. Even though warranty was 6 months, I calmly approached A&R to see if there was anything they could do to help me out. I understand how the business works, so I simply thought Id ask. They said they would take a look and I left it with them on April 30th. $3,000 for 200 miles is unacceptable.Over the next 2 weeks, I called every couple days or so to see if they had looked at the car, they had not. I stopped in after a week, only to be rudely yelled at by Mario, a manager there, claiming I shouldnt be rushing them. Another week later, I spoke with Anthony who took a look and said there wasnt much they could do. I wasnt happy about paying that much for an engine that ran 200 miles, in addition for being yelled at and disrespected over the 2 week period, so I said I would be leaving a bad review.Miraculously, I receive a call back not even 2 minutes later that they could put one in for $1,000. I thought about it for a little bit and called back to accept the offer, but he told me there would be no warranty. They wanted me to purchase another engine from them with no warranty after the first one lasted 200 miles. A word of advice, NEVER put in an engine with no warranty from an unreliable company. In my opinion, the work done was incompetent, the staff was extremely rude (I was yelled at by both Mario and Anthony, unprovoked), and the place is shady as a whole. I encourage you to take your business elsewhere to avoid the headache and scamming nature of this establishment. After some detective work on their reviews, most of the good ones are from employees and family.I recommend Compton Automotive or maybe JDM Engine after researching reviews. Dont waste your time and money with A&R, I am trying to save you the disappointment.
If you need a engine done this is the place to go !! they had my car back on the road in 2 days and it runs just like new !! im so glad i didnt have to go buy another one . i got prices at other places and they were through the roof . luckily the tow driver recommended this place boy am i glad i listened thank you a&r !!

***Beware*** These are guys are crooks...my son brought his car in and my son advised his vehicle had issues with the Rocket Arm and was quoted a price of 629.00 on 04/11/2015 by Travis. Travis advised my son he would perform a diagnostic test and call my son back. Travis never called my son back and states when he checked the rockets that was not the issue the engine needed replaced. My son advised he was not going to replace the engine and he would pick up his car. Travis advised both my son and I he would need to pay 500.00 to retrieve vehicle with no repair because the car had been taken apart and put back together... and the fee was for labor. Either Travis lied and said the car was put back together or they maliciously took the engine out of the car because when my son arrived to retreive vehicle the engine had been removed. He then told my son he can pay 529.00 for I personally spoke with Travis who advised me of the same. I advised Travis that is ridiculous to pay 629.00 for work that was not done. Travis then stated 95.00 was for parts and 500.00 was for labor. He stated my son should have asked for a diagnostic test...my son stated he spoke with Travis on 04/13/2015 and Travis advised him he would do the diagnostic test and will call him back after findings and he didnt hear anything else regarding findings from Travis. Both my son and I was advised what he thought was the initial problem was not the problem and he didnt find that out until he took the car apart. I spoke with Travis and asked why would anyone pay 500.00 for a car that is in the exact same condition prior to bringing it into the shop... and who made the call not to repair the car and just charge 500.00 and put the car back together. I told Travis if it was my car and I had to pay 500.00 anyway... I would rather you replace the part and I pay you 629.00. At that time Travis advised me the car was put back together.... and he would need to break it back down to replace the Rocket Arm. I then stated to Travis it is not my car and I am unauthorized to have the car repaired. My son went to pick up his car on 04/14/2015 and said his entire engine was out of the car. I called and Anthony answered the phone and I heard Anthony thru the phone line speaking with my son saying your mother told me to put the Rocket Arm on the car. Lie! I never spoke with Anthony only Travis and that was once on 04/13/2015 and Travis advised he was the only person there at that time. I was very clear do not touch that car because I am unauthorized to request any repairs because it isnt my car and Im not paying for repairs. When I hung up with Travis per Travis car was put back together. Clearly, these guys are crooks! Its very simple... have some integrity...which clearly this shop has none! This shop never gave a written estimate for my son to sign and authorize repairs which is in violation of the NC Vehicle Repair Law. Any amount over 350.00 the shop should have given him a written estimate obtained a signature from my son authorizing the repairs. These type of repairs shops shouldnt exist and shouldnt be allowed to offer a service! You can use this shop if you wish but I suggest taking your vehicle someplace else where you can work with mechanics that has some integrity. You know a shop is bad when workers and family members are posting fake 5 star reviews. Funny, the owner is Anthony Lathan and James Lathan posting a 5 star review...Chuck Armani ran my credit card in their office.
