Bojangles Coliseum has a very nostalgic feel. It is evident that its history proceeds itself. The facility as a whole is worn down due to father time and 65+ year history. However, I was able to enjoy my oldest son graduating high school in this building as my first time visit! May the building continue to bring tradition to the area for a while longer until it is time to inevitably topple and rebuild!
Fantastic place to spend time with the family or friends, depending on the event. Bathrooms are almost always clean, the staff works hard to ensure all needs are met and all directional signs are posted clearly.
Fun venue for a Charlotte Checkers game. Staff working the event were very friendly and helpful. The gentleman taking our tickets demanded a fist bump from each of us before scanning our tickets. He really set the mood for the game!!! Great atmosphere and will definitely be back for another game. Only issue is getting to the event off of 74. Can be a hassle, but it appears they do the best they can with the limited space.
I need to give the biggest shout out to out Military, First Responders and medical team👍Had my first shot today..Our team were the most Professional, caring, informed, patient people on the planet! They were well prepared and made me feel calm and talked me through the entire process. So far no side effects. Because of their well coordinated process, I have no fear of my second shot.God Bless everyone involved to end this horrific Pandemic and God bless America🇺🇸
The AEW wrestling was amazing. My only complaint would be that it was hot inside
The staff at the Bojangles Coliseum does an outstanding job to make your event a success. We use hundreds of similar facilities across the country. Their team stands out. We look forward to coming back to the facility in the future.
Bojangles Coliseum is an older yet intimate venue. With the renovations completed in the last few years, it truly has came back to life as one of the coolest places to go to an event. The concourses, restrooms, and concession stands are tight, and hard to maneuver at times. The parking lot is in rough shape, and hasn’t really been modernized.
My nurse Tracie was amazing!! She was very comforting and had a great sense of humor!! She took the time to talk to me and my boyfriend. Thank you to ALL the staff for volunteering their time!!
No air what so ever we about melted in our seats, loved the show it was great just wished they would have addressed the ventilation problem
Spur of the moment decided to check out the Calder Cup Champions, The Charlotte Checkers! We usually go to a few game every season. Its always so much fun! Very family oriented. The kids always try so hard to get on the Jumbotron, its so funny to see. We go good seats, not the best, but we did buy tickets an hour before the game. Everyone was friendly, parking wasnt bad when it was time to leave. Cant wait til next time. BTW, the Checkers lost this one 4-2 to the Scranton Penguins(Shhhhh.....I was ok with that, Im a Pittsburgh Penguins Fan, too).
Continued from littlejs review:Fair but we couldnt stay where we were that it was a fire hazard but she tried to move us to the other side of the floor for a better view which my sister and i both appreciate and think was very kind but didnt really make a big improvement. So we just sit together for a little bit and try to relax after everything. Its nearly 9 at this point the show ends at 10. My sister is still crying and i do my best to salvage things but at that point what could i really do. The whole experience ruined the entire show we at first were going to stay till after the show and watch dark but by the time we could actually watch the show we didnt really feel happy enough to. We left before the main event started and began the nearly 2 hour ride home . It was really an awful experience dont think well be coming back if AEW has another show there. will be getting in touch with the coliseum tomorrow and let them know all that happened. Bottom line dont come here if you think you deserve respect and some level of accomidation for your disability.
Tens of thousands of people and the air didnt seem to work. Felt like 85 degrees in there. Was stinky and miserable.
Went to see perfect circle concert here. Its was cold in there because, apparently its an ice hockey ring, so bring a jacket and wear appropriately. Coming in from the freeway was interesting. Had to wait awhile to turn into the actual lot. The inside of the coliseum had 3 levels. You enter into the mid level. The food is all on that level and they had alcohol at every entrance back into the seating area. Only 2 bathroom from what I could find. The poor women had a massive line for their bathroom.
The parking is adequate and well lit. If you have a handicap sticker there is PLENTY of spots to park. The food is highly priced but food at any event is expensive. Also you do have to go thru metal detectors so be sure to check your pockets before going in so you dont have to walk back to your car.Seating is very tight so be sure you have enough space for you and your friends ( would suggest end seats) so you can see the show.I found it amazing how they transform the arena, from hockey, to shows, to graduations, to a circue de Soleil show.Conveniently located aff the highway and easy to get to either by car or uber/lyft.
Parking was a little confusing, but the acoustics were great and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Went to a an arena football game, seats are distanced but AC was on full blast and it was cold inside. Charlotte won the game though! Nice and inexpensive event if you like arena football, overall good outing!
My first time there! Great experience..wish it was a better outcome for my team..thanks to Coach Bryson and the entire Charlotte Thunder organization for the hospitality and professionalism shown..hope to do it again next year! Jermaine Sanders, co-owner of the Jersey Bearcats Arena Football Team.
Took my youngest son and my grandson here to watch the Charlotte Thunder Arena Football team kick some New Jersey Bearcats A#% !! We are celebrating my Grandsons 7th Birthday .. The tickets were courtesy of Joe Maus ( Thanks Joe, YOU ROCK ! ) ... we had a Great time !! The entire staff of the arena we came into contact with, from the security staff, to the Seat usher, to the concession workers were extremely friendly . We had front row seats, section 108, row 1.. The arena was very clean and the game was very fun and entertaining!! we had an overall Great Experience !
Older, but it works. Worst part was it was so hot!
Went here for the Toby Mac Hits deep tour and was not disappointed. Great venue - really not a bad seat in the place. We got the “nose bleed” seats and our kids loved them! :) The parking situation though? What a mess trying to get out. If you don’t want to deal with it, I’d advise leaving early from whatever event take you to this place.
Vending, bathrooms and arena were really nice. Only complaint was the seats in front of me were close but Im on the tall side.
I’ve done it all here! From sold out concerts to hockey games, The Coliseum is a great venue. It is a Historical place in Charlotte, but the Checkers moving back to the Coliseum and revamping it has truly made it an enjoyable place to go for an event. There are a fair amount of dining options, and even a lower level dining experience (The Red Line Club). With more expansion and additions coming, I’d highly recommend checking out “The Biscuit” for your next event!
Enjoyed a very well done commencement ceremony here. Older venue, but good hospitality and customer service.
Had a great time at the Charlotte checkers hockey game. Being a large family of nine everybody had a blast. Our kids range from seven months to 19 years. First time coming to a hockey game. Great food and entertainment would recommend to any family.
Small ice rink stadium for the Charlotte Checkers hockey team. They also have shows, concerts and other events here.Second time here. Its a nice place to come and see minor league hockey.Reasonable prices for food, concessions and extras.Easy Parking, easy entrance and easy back on highway to get home after a game. The property is older and is finally receiving much needed capital improvements. Clearly the parking lots could use a layer of blacktop along with more bathrooms etc.Bring your family and enjoy a nice night out!Very kid friendly!
Always a clean and inviting place to visit whether its for a game or a private event.
It was so hot outside, someone passed out ans the staff would not let him inside before the medics arrived.
My granddaughter graduated there. Beautiful
At comedy show ! Country Wayne, Mike Epps,DC young fly... Hilarious 😂😅😂😂😅😅😅
Across the street at the old bowling alley some random old dude just walks in and starts painting the floor with a broom. Apparently he does this everywhere. Looks really cool regardless.
That was fantastic! HBCU Battle of the bands!
Independence Graduation 2021. Nicely done with social distancing.
Great for Venues! The Parking lot is perfect and the comfort of the chairs is great... Always good times.
They turned off the lights and the mics on Erykah Badu, but she was late getting started, soooo...Otherwise, the venue was decent.
Great local coliseum with lots of history. There’s plenty of onsite parking: it’s costs $8/car, and they accept cash and card when you pull in. There’s several food options inside. The venue is small enough that there’s not a bad seat in the house. We try to get tickets in Section 121 so that we’re close to the local craft beer stands. If you have time before your event, try eating in the Red Line Club on the ground floor. We learned that it’s the same main ticketed entrance for that - no special side entrance.
First time visiting for a hockey game. It was a pretty good experience. Pretty easy to get in and out, but we came 30 minutes early and left right before the game ended. Lots of activities for prizes for the fans, but not sure how you get picked to play. Would have been fun to play and win prizes.
Nicely remodeled, only the parking lot needs repair.
Good place and parking. Visited for covid vaccine and its nice facility
The people were really nice and helpful on all the process thanks a lot i really appreciate their service
My grandson high school graduation is today. Go Sabers!! South Meck. Charlotte NC.
Really nice space for large events like this graduation ceremony. The air flow was really good. And with good ushers everyone can get in and out smoothly. There is parking immediately outside the venue.
New Years Eve - The Avett Brothers. Parking is crazy, Uber. Cool place. The floor seating should have Been elevated a little!
Received our first vacine today. Process was fast and painless. Thank you
An all-time classic arena! Not the best ventilation by any means.
Comfortable, ok bathrooms they DO sell Bojangles don’t expect the full menu tho.
Very nice for hockey!
Good auditorium. Small but enjoyable when I went to the AEW show. Can clearly tell the age but still serves its function without any bells or whistles. Parking was okay to navigate but that is being said in light of the fact that I got there 2 hours before the event. The lines and ticket checks werent good though. The staff took way to long to set things up and it seems to lack any tight organization as far as getting people into multiple lines and checking them in.
Classic vintage venue. Charlotte Checkers are one of the best deals in town for seeing a live sporting event!
Had the best time seeing Katt Williams. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Had a great time at the Trump RALLY.
We saw the Charlotte Checkers Pink In The Rink game. Easy to move around and navigate. Parking is smooth and easy.
Not bad of an arena, parking was a beast if dont get there early.
Had a great time at a Charlotte Checkers game! Nice venue for smaller events. All great seats.
Been here for serval graduations, great place. Parking is hectic if you arrive at the exact hour but if you arrive 30/40 mins before you should be fine.
Love the parking, most of the people who work there are very nice (Aside from the guy who was a jerk about my camera, who held his fingers less than half an inch apart and said the lens has to be that big to bring it in. He was very patronizing and it wasnt necessary). The boards could use some new glass and its really cold inside, so bundle up. The atmosphere is nice, though. Concessions have a pretty decent selection and the prices are fair.
Love this place. We went to get a Covid Test. Very nice and quick
Good service 👍 all clean and organized 👌
Graduation Sermony was a great experience
Great hockey team, concessions, and coliseum.
We had went there for our shorts everyone was so nice and treated us very well Thank you for your help
Easy entrance despite crowd
It was good. I got my first dose of the vaccine there today.
Attended my daughters high school graduation ceremony
No one was there to do the covid test. I made arrangements and went to CVS.
GO CHECKERS! 2 the next round of the playoffs
I enjoyed Fantasia. She was very entertaining. She put on a great show
Had fun seeing Martin LAF tour In my city.
Wonderful old arena!!!!!!!!! Great place to watch the Charlotte Thunder or Charlotte Checkers or any event.
Fun Checkers game experience! Allow enough time for parking beforehand be patient when exiting the game and parking lot. There are limited exits.
What an awesome place for AHL hockey. All of the staff we encountered were phenomenal and extremely friendly. The atmosphere is great for kids as well. The concessions are good and moderately priced. The only issue was $8 for parking. The parking lot was raggedy and that’s just too expensive for minor league hockey.
Great coliseum to watch hockey. Affordable tickets, food and drinks around the whole outside. Parking was $8 I believe and I had no trouble finding a spot or leaving after the game. Decently clean bathrooms I would say.
I enjoy this place every time I visit but Fantasia was absolutely AMAZING!! Best Birthday gift of 2019!
Bit cold on a kilt but still a good venue for Oktoberfest. Ive seen dozens of concerts from RUSH to Tina Turner here and always enjoy the sound.
Outstanding! We were at ovens auditorium tho.. next door.
Staff did a good job for such a large crowd
Only giving 1 star because I cant give 0. Entirely unsatisfied with everything. After paying $8 for parking and $24.79 for a ticket in a coliseum that is at most 10% filled (see photos), the first four employees I encountered were not only rude but also dismissive. I approached the box office with the intent of explaining that I was with 3 others who already had tickets and would like to sit with them if possible. As I said hello and began to explain the situation I was interrupted by a loud and repetitive EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME! Are you here with anyone or are you by yourself? After being given the chance to explain that I was with others, and giving her the section number and exact seats of those I was with, the woman demanded to see their tickets before giving me a ticket in the section (more than 95% empty, again see photos). As we went to our seats we got a beer on the way, the woman serving the beer was snippy and rude when I asked to pay with a debit card, after not seeing the cash only sign that was printed on an 8.5x11 sheet that had fallen on the floor. The woman seating patrons seemed to be pretty sarcastic with us after we told her we could probably find out own seats, maybe she was just joking, but it didnt seem funny to me.
Older arena but nicely kept together. I attended a graduation at the arena.
Visited for the Toby Mac concert, which was great, but this facility is TIRED. The parking was atrocious. Too few people managing too many cars, leaving every person to fend for themselves. That never goes well.
$8 to park? We were just coming for a $13 Checkers game and it was less expensive side when the team played in Time Warner.$8 beer? Ridiculous and expensive. Theres no reason to charge people so much, besides flat out greed. Sorry, but tax credits to help build and remodel this coliseum and then the owners nickel & dime the public when we go?Honestly, I wish the Checkers would return to Time Warner, a MUCH better venue for everything.
Very friendly and helpful vaccination staff 😊
1st covid19 shot. Very smooth
There to finish my Covid vaccination. Very organized.
Seating was good. Getting a drink or food was a 1 star.. Very poor management for a Large Event..
The Coliseum was a little underwhelming to be honest. Its a pretty old building, quite small, and a little cramped. Nothing terrible about it, but it wasnt particularly good. The concessions were very good and the service was fast. The food was exception, but they ran out of lids for the 32oz cups. Its a little difficult to not spill your drink when the cup holders sit at an angle. If the person beside you doesnt see your drink it could easily spill or get knocked over. The stadium is relatively easy to find, right off the boulevard, well marked. You cant really miss it. Parking seemed well organized and not unbearable. Mind you, I did arrive extremely early for the event. Good thing about the stadium is that since it is small you can pretty much get a good seat no matter where you sit
Covid-19 vaccine went smoothly in and out in 30in
